We rented the u-haul for August 12, 2023 in Georgetown, Ky--Reservation #: 9249212--and the pickup time for the truck was 10:00 am. When we arrived there was no one at the business. We called the number for the place, but got no answer. We called the main u-haul number and they said for us to drive to another u-haul rental place which was only 3 miles away and that we could rent one there. There was no one there and we called that number. The lady that answered the phone said they didn't have any u-haul trucks there. We called the main number again and was told that we would have to rent the ones the other place had--but they were not open. So I drove back to the original place and finally someone showed up over an hour after the time we were given for the original rental--after 11:00 am. We had rented a 15' truck and was told we could take back to any u-haul rental place. We took it to one in Pikeville, Ky, which was where we were driving to. We left the truck in Pikeville, Ky--merchant number 4445022909051. The next day they called us and told us that the original place had rented us the 20' truck and not the 15' one. But they said they would not charge us for the larger truck and keep the price the same for a 15' truck. Well, they added $58.24 to our card. I have never had so much trouble with a business. These u-haul rental places seriously dropped the ball. We should not have had to pay the extra &58.24 for something that wasn't our fault. I didn't know what size the truck was. I didn't take a tape line to measure it. I was told by the original place that it was a 15' truck. We are going to protest the $58.24 extra charge.

No help offered or available to assist in hooking up trailer to my vehicle. The 6x12 trailer is very heavy to lift and hook up to the hitch.

There was no appliance dolly but I was still charged. The truck had absolutely no suspension it was 150 of rough riding. Please maintain your vehicles better

I was charged for two days when i only had the trailer for one and half hours , I picked it up at 1:34 pm and returned it at 3:00 pm, in had heard the gentlemen on the phone when I was in the office tell someone that he was there until 4pm but when I returned it at 3pm the gate was closed as well as the office then I received a email the next morning at 8:57 saying that I was charged for two days I took pictures when I dropped the trailer off at 3pm then I went by the next day to get this straight and noone was there even though the posted hours says they're supposed to be open , very very poorly operated location now I have to wait till Monday to try and get my money back i don't recommend this location at all

The gentleman there was nice and kinda funny.. service was good and prompt... Plus that little dog of has had me in tears little legs just running around full speed but no really getting to far lol... But that was probably the best experience we have had dealing with U-Haul so thank u appreciate it...

When we arrived the attendant was asleep and woke up once we arrived. I told him that I had a reservation which he stated that he could not find at first. Once I gave him our contract number he located it and he said he did not have our appliance dolly and only 15 it of the 24 blankets that I had ordered. Not aware of this beforehand. He printed our paperwork and once we were in the truck we noticed that the drop off location was incorrect since we were going one way to Florence KY as was indicated on our reservation and he had listed Lawrenceberg KY. We then had to call the manager there and she had to redo the paperwork and resend. We then had to go to the our preferred pick up option that we requested (no one called or left a message or texted to indicate the change) to pick up the appliance dolly. Terrible experience.

Location was posted that it was open till 1pm. Once we arrived at 11am two days prior to my scheduled delivery date, it was an unmanned delivery location. Once we called the posted number the voicemail was full and we couldn’t leave a message. The delivery location was down a poorly maintained street without proper turnaround space. So a person that is new to pulling a trailer would have problems. And if they needed help it wasn’t available. I had to call Monday morning, two days after we delivered the trailer to ask if they checked it in. This was two hours after it was late because they never checked it in. They stated they would correct my issue and send me an email to verify. Very disappointed in this location. If I were Uhaul I would pull my equipment from this location.

They were not trained in leasing equipment. The truck was beat up and interior nasty. No cruise control . Alignment or tire balance bad. Trailer wiring circuit did not work. AC worked intermittently.

I have only rented Trucks, Trailers, etc. U-Haul for 20-plus years. As well as I have had several hitches set up and installed by U-Haul. However, following the incident and the additional charges I was charged when renting from American Mini Storage in Georgetown, KY~I will never rent or use U-Haul again. Number one, U`Hauls app stinks. It has never functioned well. As such, U-Haul should not do self-check out and in until the can fix their app. However, it was the nearest place to my house to pick it up and drop it off. I challenged the extra charges, but they went ahead and charged me for that. Yes, I got the $50 credit since the truck wasn’t ready on time but that's not the point. I must have spent approx. an hour at the location and on the phone trying to be able to pick up the truck…couldn’t get the key code for a while to get the key out of lockbox, etc.—I can honestly say, "Based on that experience and customer service, U-Haul lost a loyal client."

There was no one available when we dropped off the U-Haul even though it was during business hours. We tried calling multiple times over 2 days to ensure that the drop off was correct and everything was taken care of and no one ever answered the phone.

the location was fine but we could not get into the box to retrieve the key even with the code. It would not open and it took us 40 minutes to pick up the truck due to that. Then the dolly I ordered was not in the truck

Person behind the counter was rude, and did not want to check in the equipment while we were there. Then took down our mailing address to for our deposit check to be mailed to, and when we looked at the e-mailed reciept he entered the address in wrong.

Uhaul overcharged me and I am very upset I had an agreement to bring to truck back when I talk to Stephen and he said that was fine and they charged for a full tank of gas also which was not in it when I picked it up.

Site was dirty, attendant had very large barking dog in a smoke filled room, told me he would be out soon, I unhooked trailer and waited for 15-20 minuets before going back inside. I ask if there was any type of paperwork , he ask if I had provided my email address at the pick up location. Did nothing to provide any type of help. Very unprofessional site and service

I was charged for a dolly that didn’t exist. I desperately needed the dolly, so I paid for the dolly. And there was no dolly. So I moved my items by hand. They were heavy. And I paid $10. Make it right.

No one was at this site. Very hard to maneuver trailer in such a tight area. No one told me when I pick it up that I had to take pictures at the site when I dropped it. I was told "just drop it off". I has taken pictures but we had to drive back to drop off site to send them. Wish I knew that ahead of time

There was no one there the day I dropped off the tow dolly. I came by the next day to make sure that they got it but again there was nobody there. Finally on the third day when I was headed home I called to make sure there received it and finally someone was there, to let me know that they received it and checked it in.

Office was filled with smoke and pets. Also, the truck had a broken mirror (safety issue). I had a friend rent the same truck the first of August for a local move just like mine but he received a rate of 0.79 per mile and I was charged 0.99…WHY??

Absolutely not, didn't greet me. A child waved me in after it was safe with dog. The guy at desk didn't say hello. I explained I was dropping off,, he pointed to where I should park it. I asked for a receipt, especially it being returned two days early he said don't need one. I then went back in and asked for someone to unhook it. He sent out a friend, that person had a hard time removing lighting plug. I said hang on, this is a fairly new truck. He went and got the guy who actually works there, who then stated, no biggie, if it broke uhaul comes out and fixes the plugs, no care for my truck. No good bye. No thanks, I took video for proof. He stood outside and watched me take hitch off and wait for me to leave. Very disappointed in uhaul.

Please do a much better job inspecting the truck for safety related aspects. The tires on the truck I rented were evidently very worn and unsafe. This proved to be very accurate as a left rear inner tire blew out on us on I-74 west of Cincinnati. This could have been disastrous. We had to pull off at exit 159, Sunman, Indiana where we delayed for nearly approximately three hours which added to the cost of our rental of the truck. Not good.

Check in failed. Said online that I did not even have a reservation. I called the 800 number and was on hold over 20 minutes. When someone answered, they said they needed to transfer me to another person, the transfer failed. I opened an online chat and after 12 minutes, no one joined the chat and it was ended without anyone helping is. The truck was left unlocked and not cleaned. The cargo area had what smelled like cat urine soaked furniture pads left in it. The cab area also wreaked of cat urine. The key lock on the lock box was old and worn and did not work for us. Someone had to be called to come over and help us get the lock to open. Not fair to that person unless he was the one that didn’t clean the truck or set the lock correctly for me. And to hear all, I was initially charged with a cleaning fee!!!!!!! This is NOT the usual UHaul high standard that we are used too. I did understand that sometimes things happen, but I feel that this needs to be reviewed internally ASAP.

I was very disappointed because when I made the reservation I told the lady I didnt want insurance on the truck and she charge any way and that to me like if she was stelling from me but other then that the service was good and I will always use uhaul

I reserved a truck at one location and when I went to pick it up I had to wait 50 minutes just for them to tell me it was at a different location and that I should’ve been notified about the change and I was not. I was then told I’d get a discount for the inconvenience and did not receive that.

Manager didn’t know wear mask, messed up my order to include auto transport trailer which they didn’t have at that location. When I went to another location to pick up trailer, they had to refund my money and start over in order to be able to give me the trailer
