The manager was always there during work hours and was very helpful the only 2 times I needed her. The first time was to get the lock, they furnished and she came right away with it, and the second was to adjust my due date by a few days so I could use their autopay. That’s so convenient. My unit was dry but clean when I moved in and it was the same when I moved out. I had to make only one phone call to let her know I was moving out and to stop the autopay and I received a email letting me know I had been removed from their active file. It was a stress free transition. I would definitely recommend their manager and their storage units.

Well, when we showed up at around 1 pm, the office was locked. We knocked to get the employees attention. She sort of snapped at us and gestured to use the drop box. I believe she was in a phone conversation? She called me later to thank me later to thank me for the business & let me know that there were no added charges.,My recommendation would have the employee pause the phone conversation & say, “please give me a moment & I will be right with you”. Then take care of.business in a personal manner. Isn’t that why she is there?

The representative was kind and courteous. She was able to take care of my concerns with the drop off and was able to get it taken care of quickly. She gave me a return call when the return was completed. I would definitely use this location again.

This location was closed when we arrived. No big deal. We used to app to return the truck. Drove around the block to refuel and came back to return. Took photos, filled in the mileage and fuel log, dropped keys; and done. EZ- PZ. (I selected Personnel Helpful [NO] because the location was closed).

Pam Owens at Shelbyville Mini Storage went above and beyond to take care of me. Pam understands customer service and customer experience. Our rental did not originally start there. I initially reserved the truck at Compass Storage in Shelbyville. Pam was able to rent a truck to us at the last minute when Compass Storage - and Nick York cancelled my reservation on a Saturday-20 minutes prior to closing and with us already in the move process. I would recommend Pam anytime. I would not recommend Nick York or Compass Storage EVER and they are not doing the U-Haul brand name any favors. I went into their office over a week in advance in person to secure the truck to make sure we had what was needed for our move. Nick was rude, and basically said because they were on the outskirts they could not offer all of the Uhaul services. I needed to rent an appliance dolly along with the truck- they said they didn't think they could get one ( Nick & Grace-the other helper there) and told me to call back the next week to find out. I did call on Wednesday, 6/12 and talked with Grace who said no dolly would be available. I asked for an additional number to corporate to provide feedback that if this dealer can't provide the Uhaul services as advertised, then they did not need to be a dealer. It is not like I was trying to do a same day rental- there should have been plenty of notice. Grace gave me a generic number, which I then told her that was ok, as I was looking to speak to a corporate representative, Regional DIrector,etc; I would go leave an online review instead- which I do planned to do. I told Grace I would be there Saturday 6/14/24 to pick up the truck regardless of no dolly. Grace called me about 15 minutes later and says they want to take care of their customers, so they would rent an appliance dolly for me locally that we could use during our move. Well, I didn't really have faith that I would indeed have the dolly, so I went and bought my own from Lowes just in case. Good thing that I did since they ended up cancelling the entire truck at the last minute, and didn't even call me themselves they let some poor customer service rep call me instead. Again, this is the most deplorable customer service I have ever experienced. I can't imagine anyone doing business with Nick or that facility in the manner he conducts it. You will see that I have been a repeat customer- I rented from the previous owner twice, no issues at all. Thankfully Pam was able to take of me at the last minute so we could move last weekend as planned. I am not sure if I will ever rent from Uhaul again, but I can tell you I will never deal with Nick or go to Compass Storage to rent and would recommend no one else does either.

There was no drop box after hours and no clear signs on where to drop the truck although there were plenty of trucks around. Rode around the property multiple times and made several calls. Was told by uhaul to lock the key in the glove compartment

I had to leak in my storage closet and it runs a lot of my important papers and things I had in the back of the storage and someone was picking my lock getting in there some things was missing my jewelry and different things that was gone and been gone through they were going through the back of the building and lifting the gate and going in there to my storage closet I didn't let them enter know which I should have I should have called the police and made a report and I was very upset due to the fact that someone had been in my storage closet red went through my things I had a bunch of kids boys clothes pants jeans almost knew that was swapped out with some raggedy pants put back in place of them and I'm very upset about it

No key drop box I had to spend an hour on the phone with U-Haul, they told me to put key under seat and lock the truck so I did. The next morning the lady called and was as rude as she could possibly be when all I did was follow the instructions U-Haul gave me.

The only things I had an issue with is the truck was an older truck that pulled to the right a little and even worse when the brakes were applied. The day before my scheduled return date, the service engine light came on, I had no idea if the truck was going to shut down on me or if I was going to make it back to the lot. Other than that the rental truck was fine and served it's purpose.

It was pouring down rain at the time of my drop off. The lady was so welcoming and helpful. I was having trouble back it up and she just went ahead and disconnected the trailer and pushed it back. I highly recommend this place.

Pick up truck had trash all in the bed of the truck. We had to clean it out before we could use it. No drop off box for keys when you return equipment so it’s inconvenient to have to plan a drop off during opened hours

I received a email saying I recently moved out my storage unit and I have not moved any of my stuff from my storage unit and I have not told anyone that I moved out my storage unit I have rented and pray and hope all my stuff still there tomorrow when i check

The truck I ended up with was horrible to drive. There was a lot of shaking in the front end. The AC didn't work at all. The location where I rented the truck was fine and the woman that assisted me was great!! The truck was awful though.

The woman at the desk when I returned the van was EXTREMELY rude. She was having an issue with internet and getting short tempered and when I asked her if I could leave the keys because I couldn’t wait she said, in a very snide and inappropriate tone, “who are you?” I told her my name but that didn’t do anything to lessen her rudeness. I left the keys and she threw them down and SHOUTED at me “you don’t have to be rude about it”. I assure you, I was not. Because of her behavior I will not use this location again.

The online process and the app is horrible!! I rented a uhaul last week with Garrett’s Auto Service as well, and the uhaul was an hour and forty five minutes late arriving. When I called into customer service the rep stated there weren’t any credits for delays. However, the app states guaranteed reservation but apparently it doesn’t matter. Then I reserved another uhaul for this past Friday at Garrett’s Auto Service again. Of course upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the uhaul wasn’t ready for me once again. Then when I called their office the lady said well I just left the office and I don’t have anything ready. I told her it should have Been ready because I reserved it online. She said well I’ve left the office and I don’t have anything prepared. I told her I was confused as to why it wasn’t ready after reserving it online and I thought that was the whole purpose. She said well uhaul must not have notified me. So I had to change all my plans and the help I had hired had to be canceled as well. I had to delay my plans to Saturday eve with another location and it went more smoothly. However, I feel I am entitled to a refund due to the delays & cancellation on the uhaul and help I had hired and having to completely rearrange my plans. It was a disaster and infuriating!
