I had a one way rental and had to pick up the truck in Gibson City an hour from the original location using the mobile app. The truck did not have the dolly or pads I requested, but I understand that is not the fault of this site's manager. I had issues getting a code for the lock box, but fortunately the manager was available (it was Memorial Day) and I was able to get on my way. The U-haul in Urbana (my original pick-up location) was able to provide me with pads so it all worked out, but the overall process could have been a little smoother.

Make sure the truck has brakes, i paid 275.00 for a 1 way rental from gibson ill. To chicago with practically no brakes and the dealer was a redneck.

This rental request was made online about a week prior to rental. The trailer was clean and functional. However, I had requested 2 dozen furniture pads to accompany my order, and the business was out of them upon my arrival.

The truck we got actually had cigarette butts in the box part - not earth shattering, but expected it clean. The part that was bothersome is that we could not do the after hours check in. Even making sure location services was on, it was not showing we were at UHaul/SOS to check in. This is the second times in 6 months we have used UHaul after hours returns and both times had issues and had to call, and was much more of a hassle than it needed to be.

The personnel was having trouble with the UHAUL computer and I was not happy with the language he used. Also his business was very messy with a small dog that loved to bark.

When I went to pickup the two dolly it need a light replacement. I had to wait around until someone ran to the store to obtain fasteners, then for someone to hook it up. Then my online check in didn't work and I had to go through entering all info again. It still wouldn't let me rent the dolly. The man had to call someone and again I had to give all info so it could be inputted. I pulled out of the lot and the light that was just installed fell off. I had to return and have it reinstalled. - Later as I was driving, night, the new light stopped working. To make this worse the other light was on and off all the way. I traveled over 900 miles across 6 states and was very glad that I didn't get stopped, ticked or have an accident. This was a nervous and worrisome trip to say the least.

The hand grips on either side of the pull down door need to be moved to the outer edges to help folks avoid getting their fingers caught between the grip and the body of the truck. Several folks got fingers injured and one possibly broken while using those grips. Otherwise, it was a good experience and I will likely be renting another truck soon. I do believe that when truck measurements are listed on the Internet, it should make it clear the overall cargo bed length includes the area above the cab. I thought the truck bed would be 15 feet, but found it just over 12. Hence, I feel a bit cheated and had to leave some items behind.

Drop off location operated by a smoker who smoked inside the business. Office was a mess and smelled of smoke.

The uhaul vehicle we received had very bad alignment and very poor steering. This was not found out until well on the way of our 1800 mile move across the country. I will not recommend uhaul to and friends or family or use uhaul again myself. I filed a complaint at the uhaul drop off point and was told a representative would contact me within two days. It has been a week and a half and I still have yet to be contacted by any representative from uhaul. The customer service is very poor.

I would have rather picked my vehicle up in Mahomet since I live there, but U-Haul made a good deal. The truck was larger than what I ordered as well, but it was all that was available. U-Haul gave me the vehicle for the same price as the 10 footer and gave me an extra day for the inconviences rendered. I was satisfied with the transaction. U-Haul employees were very nice all the way around.

The gentleman at the pickup location was great. It was not his fault that the original location did not have the U-Haul that they said they would when we booked, but he did everything in his power to make it right.

I returned a day early on time and was charged for the unused day. You have a way of explaining the payment so you always come out charging more and make it sound like it should be that way. I SHOULD have been charged for TWO days NOT THREE as I was. I should get a refund.

I wanted to rent one in Champaign, Illinois but you did not have what I needed. I didn't mind getting it there, but wanted to return it to the Champaign location because Gibson City is 40 miles from my house. I called and asked customer service about that and I was told I had to take it back to Gibson City. they were very nice to me at Gibson City, but it was a lot of driving to get and return the trailer.

i was happy with the service, however, when i first called about the truck i wanted it for one day, in town only. i was told 20. a day plus we also got the insurance for $14. plus gas and milage. ok, i agreed to this. but, when i called to let the dealer know i was running behind and would be there to pick the truck up at 11a.m. instead of 9a.m. he informed me that was fine but i had to have the truck back by 5p.m. or earlier because it was rented out. ok, i understand things happen but i thought a day meant 24 hours. we, hurried and got things finished by 130p.m. and took the truck back at that time. i paid cash for my deposit but upon settleing the bill i was given a check. my daughter returned the truck while i waited outsid in the telecare van, and she didnt think to question why we were giving our money back in a check instead of cash!. although the service was good and we were blessed to be able to get the truck, i feel really unsettled about the whole situation. i did ask if we would get a discount for having to return the van early or a senior citizen discount and was told nope, uhaul doesnt do that. i have used uhaul on many occasions in the past and will continue to do so in the future, but will have to see about going out of town to rent one again if i have to. which will be extremely hard since i dont have a car. perhaps, if the costomer is told they cant have a truck for the 24 hours they rented it, the dealer should be able to offer a discount of some kind. thanks for listening! hope someone reads this for real.

They charged me a cleaning fee even though I had swept out the trailer before returning it. He said it was because he swept it and he had to MOVE the trailer.

Got a call from uhaul telling me that I had not returned the truck on Monday. It was rented on Saturday AM and returned that night. Someone dropped the ball.

I arrived just as the people who rented the truck had dropped it off & don't think it was fully checked in yet. Only thing that I could see was cigarette butts in the ashtray which was not a real problem as far as I was concerned. Agent was very helpful & nice to have one in my town.
