Easy drop-off
KYLE HDropped off the trailer after hours so can't comment on helpfulness. Have used this location previously as it is a very convenient location.

JOHN BPretty low-key location - the U-Haul dealer (Smith Straw) works out of a 20' shipping container to the south of the big red tire store so it took a minute to find the guy. But the equipment was ready when I got there and everyting worked perfectly.

Juan cThe interaction with the gentleman was fine, but I didn't get any paperwork and he asked if I needed help hooking up, I said not really so he just said "okay, you're all set" and told me where the trailer was. It's not a huge deal, just thought it was weird. Also, the trailer lights harness was stripped so not all my blinkers work.

MATTHEW SThe owner was hours late to help us rent the uhaul. There was snow a few days ago and he kept going on about how he could brush the ice off his car but it would take a while. Meanwhile cars were driving all around and everything was open. It would be no problem if he just told us we wouldn't be there at the agreed time. The pickup time was 10 he got there after 12 and was on the phone and ignored us.
Rachel GMy reservation was moved from the desired pickup spot in Daphne on my reservation to Smith Straw at 12:11pm the day prior. The old man who checked me in provided no assistance. He pointed to where the trailers were behind a red building and did not offer to help. I was by myself and drove my truck to where the trailer was in a grassy area. He did not provide a jack or anything to lift the extremely heavy 6x12 ft trailer up to my hitch. It took me almost an hour to get the trailer lifted and hooked up and I threw my back out in the process. I also had to move another trailer out of the way to get out of the lot since there was not enough clearance to get through. The exit to the lot was extremely muddy and was unavoidable to get out onto the road. I picked up mud onto the front of the trailer in the process. The agent couldn't have been any more disinterested in helping me. By far the worst customer service at any U-haul location I have used across the country.
Kevin WThe pickup person would not help with the tow hauler at all. He wouldn't connect it to the truck or do the towing inspection. He also did not properly inspect the truck we received before it was assigned to us. The alignment was off and the truck swayed all over the road. It was 650 miles of hell.
Shannon PDirty pads not wrapped in plastic. I wasn’t given the correct number which resulted in an additional $24 fee. In fact one pad was an old comforter. Other issues with rate charged but this location had no control over that. Overall a nightmare from an administrative perspective. I will be disputing charge with my credit card company until U-Haul rectifies the billing issues.

Mark SI was charged for equipment that was not in the truck. Stated this on the phone to a customer care representative and charge wasn’t removed.
Sherry MWe ordered an appliance dolly however when we arrived they did not have any. Never did. It should not have been an option to order. Because of this I had to drive the uhaul an extra 6 miles each way to another location to pick up a dolly from them. Sad thing is, I was still charged extra for the 12 miles and the gas needed to get there. Limited help across the board.
Taylor EThe truck we picked up was damaged. We drove it and ended up stranded with the wheel fallen off a few hours away. So far the regional rep has promised to refund me partially but still has not and it has been 4 months now.

Jessica DI was told to go pick it up and load it myself with no help. The wiring had been cut so lights didn't work, and they wouldn't offer a solution. I had to fix it at home. One tire was low on air due to a nail in it. Equipment needs to be inspected prior to renting.
Charles NThe entire experience with UHaul in general and overall was a complete disaster. The vehicle was so disgusting on the inside and smelled so bad. The movers I contracted through the website never showed up, which caused me to incur additional expenses by having to rent the truck longer and making more trips. In addition, trying to contact UHaul was a hassle. The wait times on hold were ridiculous and the call back times were just as insane.

Matthew ABack of unit was dirty. Gas gauge was 1/3 full yet the ticket said 1/2. Was charged additional 16 miles due to the incorrect data.

James HWhen I showed up, the guy didn't even ask to see my paperwork. I had to make him complete the transaction before I walked out. He didn't even come to help take the trailer off. I had no jack to help lift the tongue and ended up wrenching my back in the process. I have been extremely disappointed in this whole experience.

James SI asked for a car hauler trailer and they had one lined up for me by the next morning. I had called after lunch that day. Quick, efficient, and friendly. Very professional. The gentleman was very forthcoming about all the information i would need for my rental. Definitely recommend.

David WPlease make it clear in the reservation email that things must be done on the app or online. My sister reserved this assuming a human would be on site to assist us. That was not the case.

Todd VWell maintained is stretching it some truck needed alignment and balancing 2000 miles with a constant pull to the right. Neither 12volt electric chargers worked. Over all I made it.

jack aWhen we picked up the U-Haul, Smith Straw did not have the 15 ft truck that we reserved. The employee offered us a 20ft truck for the same price. When we took the 20ft truck home, it was infested with german cockroaches. We returned the U-Haul and we were able to cancel the order. The employee was helpful, although I still have to rate this as poor service for the lack of a 15ft truck and for the infestation.

I also recommend Smith Straw as a corporate partner for all U-Haul Landscaping needs throughout the continental Unites States. Steve SI made an online reservation for 4:45 which was confirmed via email. I arrived at the location early to find that the location was closed. Website reflects open at 0800/8am Saturday. I arrived at 7:50 and waited until 0830/830am and no one should up. There was 3 other individuals there at 0800 who had confirmed reservations and again no one should up. Completely un-professional needles to say ridiculous. UHAUL SUCKS…..
