Charlotte CFacility was closed, but in a terrible location. This was not the location i wanted to pick up from, and it was far from where i was loading my truck. Terrible, and UHaul reduced the allotted miles because this pick up point was closer to my destination. That is just plain wrong, and since i had to try to complete the rental over the phone near a busy street, i had no real opportunity to correct things. The phone process was not very helpful, hard to hear, and required me to answer questions that i had already completed via my online check in. I ordered furniture pads as part of the rental, but those were not in the truck. This location looks like an abandoned junk pile.
Thomas BWhen extra equipment (dolly’s) is rented make sure is in the truck at the time of pick up.

Dakota BHonestly, Uhaul was clean and in a good location Easy process, but I requested a dolly and it was not inside uhaul and location was closed not sure if there even was a dolly available and I was charged for it.

KENNETH BI didn't realize you had to download the UHAUL app to do a mobile check in. I checked the site over and over about how to do the check in and couldn't figure it out. A friend suggested I try the app and the option to "Pick up my truck" was their but the app was malfunctioning and I was unable to actually pick up the truck. After 2 hours and a call to the facility the truck was at, I finally got the keys AFTER the shop employee processed my order himself. I think I will stick to the main Youngstown campus and physically go in to do the pickup rather then the mobile pickup. Was not worth the hassle. Luckily, the shop employee was able to get everything processed.
JANET BMechanical care of vehicle not maintained. Transmission trouble nearly caused me to have an accident twice.

William FJessica, who answers emails and your 800 number, may get the job done but only by robotic language. She has the personality of a snake and is less than helpful. Uhaul would really do themselves a favor by sharing excellent customer service techniques with her. Understanding, compassion, relatability are just starting points. Perhaps U-haul could Also look seriously at current policies, e.g. guaranteeing equipment instead of having the customer drive around collecting it. Someone at the franchise should be fully trained on how vehicles are to be secured. When arriving at my location, I was notified that the security chains weren't used at all! I drove 625+/- miles unsecured. While I am the responsible person, lives were in danger that whole way. Where is U-haul's commitment to safety for the public at large? Imagine if that car rolled off while on the freeway? Imagine the injuries and/or deaths probable. Those are just the beginning of my complaints. Before I leave, let me also advise those in charge of communication between the corporate offices (Jessica?) and the franchises is nil. Corp. states one thing but franchise knows nothing. Who runs the show here?
