I didnt get a clean uhaul. There was pepsi cup and straws and pumpkin seeds on the floor. When deopping off the uhaul, I had to hide the dolly with some plastic bag so nobody breaks in to steal the dolly and I was charge for $25 uhaul cleaning fee as if Ibgot the truck clean to begin with

VALERIE JThis is primarily an auto mechanic shop and that’s their priority and it shows. They should relinquish this business to a person dedicated to UHaul and quality customer service. The truck I received was empty of gas and the driver side door didn’t close properly.
SHANNON B1. I made this reservation through your UHaul app. 2. I called your customer service number prior to picking up the van and confirmed that 1). I could complete this reservation entirely through your App, and 2). that all disclosures would be made through the app prior to authorizing my credit card. 3. Neither of those assurances proved accurate. When I got to the location, I was given a business card and told that I needed to call the number on the card to complete the reservation. Furthermore, the disclosures about folding the blankets after returning the van were not made on the app or prior to my credit card being charged. Nor did anyone tell me this verbally. 4. The van was given to me with the fuel tank 5/8 full. I returned it 3/4 full. I have the fuel receipts and photograph of the fuel gauge to verify that information. 5. The owner charged me a cleaning fee. When I called to inquire, he said something about this being disclosed inside the van. That is not acceptable - customers aren't responsible for checking inside a van for disclosures. 6. Neither the owner nor the regional supervisor, Jose Sanchez, were willing to made any accommodation based on the van being returned with extra fuel. Their rationale was that they intended to operate by the letter of the contract despite the fact that I wasn't shown the disclosure about "folding blankets" prior to being charged, nor did the individual on sight nor Eric make any mention of it in our phone discussion. In fact when I returned the vehicle I asked the individual on site if there was anything more I needed to do, and I was told "no". 7. If you are going to enable customers to order vehicles via your app, then all important disclosures need to be made on the app prior to purchase. Making these disclosures after the fact in a multi-page email attachment, and not in the app itself, and then expecting the customer to read all of the disclosures is both impractical and unethical for a short-term rental. 8. How difficult is it to add a disclosure in the app about "folding blankets" - and that the customer verifies seeing? A simple pop-up and checkbox would have avoided this misunderstanding and $25 surcharge. 9. The bigger problem in this situation is not the surcharge but the fact the site owner and regional representative made no accommodation for the extra fuel expense. As I told the regional representative, Mr. Sanchez, I've made 2 vehicle rentals in recent years at your Hawthorne location on Rosecrans Avenue and both went smoothly. Why treat a prior customer this way by insisting on the contract being adhered to when the relevant disclosures weren't made clearly? Sincerely, Edward Hawley

Lionel DThe only issue with the location is the very narrow parking area. Fortunately, there was someone there when I returned the truck so I didn't have to try and back it into a small, narrow space. I suppose by rental truck standards, it was clean. There was no trash left in it, but there was dirt on the floor, and the windows were all dirty. The mobile pick up/drop off option has it's good and bad points. The app quit part way through the pick up process, but I was able to reach someone by phone who sent a link to complete the pick up. The fuel usage has a major flaw if you are only driving a few miles. I tried reporting fuel usage as closely as possible, but even though I only drove 6 miles, the app charged me $43 for fuel usage. HOWEVER*, I called and filed a complaint, and was refunded the fuel charge THE SAME DAY!!! I would rent this way again, but probably not at this location. U-Haul has great customer service, based on this experience.

MARCELOANDRE AThe truck was dirty outside and inside but on checkin we said it was clean because we didn't want to take more pictures and delay our departure. Also, the mobile checkout procedures are unnecessarily long. At the end of a long day, the last thing one wants to do is take so long to return the truck. I dropped the keys in the box before realizing I had pictures to take and that I should have put the keys in the back of the truck. Very frustrating.

Marc SYour online app tries to ship boxes and supplies to a home address. This is goofy as there would be few instances where a customer would do this.
David SI used the 24/7 phone app to rent and return the truck. The van was great and the app idea is too but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. I have a newish iPhone but only three bars of cell at the site (AT&T). The app had enough troubles when renting that I would have had to call support if a person wasn't on-site to help. I returned the van later in the day and the shop was closed. The app wants lots of pictures of the truck but freezes when uploading each one. This took several minutes per picture and had no progress bar so you were guessing when you can take the next one. After ~20 minutes of fooling with it, I think I was done but the app froze again. Nice idea but really poor implementation.
Paul VI was overcharged for mileage, but thankfully I took pictures of the odometer when I arrived and dropped off. Because the photos were date stamped I was refunded the overcharge (basically charged 24 miles for a 12 mile trip!). The van was clean enough inside but the outside was dirty. I don’t care about that, but just a mention. Otherwise. It was an easy rental for an hour and 10 minutes for a quick pickup if a patio bench. I would use them again. Just make sure to document everything beforehand!

Rupert PI have used this rental place for the last 3 years to move my son in/out of his college apartments. They are always easy to work with, available, and trucks are clean and work perfectly. julie bIt took 45 minutes to book a simple van for a 2-hour rental (same day/location return). I was then charged $106 and logged in as almost 200 miles trip for literally a 10-mile trip. The owner said he would fix the issue but I have yet to get a follow up on how it was fixed. Very very disappointing experience.

JACOB SIt took too long and was too complex to do the self Serve method to check the vehicle out and to return the vehicle. The location is fine. It was not on the location to deal with this. We ended up calling customer service and the person was so busy eating on the phone and was barely helpful. It took over an hour to get the portal to work and to get everything uploaded etc. . Finally had to get the APP which my husband had but we needed something done on the end of customer service before it would work. We love the location - but we had to do self serve. We appreciated being able to get the truck at the location and will use the service again .
stephen mBusiness opened a half hour late. The truck windshield and windows was covered in bird poop and were filthy dirty. I had to wash the windows before I hit the road. Other than that the truck was mechanically in shape and did the job.
David CGuy at counter was rude to me after double booking my rental van. I used 9.4 miles but charged more. Was never given paperwork and was told to get off the property when I dropped it off. I want a refund.

Piyapong STo be honest this was my first time renting a uhaul truck and although I don’t consider moving glamorous it would be great to have a clean truck inside. The location is hard to maneuver because there is very little parking space. Otherwise it was an easy check in check out process so that was great!

Denis MI have rented from u haul several times in the last few years, but this time was extremely frustrating. The 15’ truck I rented was filthy inside the cab, there was dirt all over the floor as well as the dash and gauges. The steering wheel was sticky and had what I think was grease and dirt all over it. The truck ran ok and got the job done, but then came time to drop off the truck. First of all, I took the truck to the drop off location I was sent ( I have a screenshot of the location), and was told I was in the wrong place, which was aggravating because I had already put fuel in to meet the requirements. Not only did I have to drive back to where I had come from, but I had to put more gas in to keep from getting charged $6 per gallon. Also, there was a lock attached to a chain ( the key was provided) on the roll up door that I was unable to use due to the fact it would not lock/ unlock. The experience was less than satisfactory.
