The person â€œ in chargeâ€ of Uhaul rentals isn't there quite often. I've rented there twice now and both times he was very hard to reach. When i called to confirm both times someone else â€œ didn't know when he would be thereâ€ and didn't offer to help until I insisted he look up and confirm my rental. When I went to pick up the trailer at the appointed time he was â€œ off fishing â€œaccording to the person there. The person who was there asked if I needed help hitching up the trailer. I said yes and he said â€œ I hope I can figure it out myself...â€. Didn't give me much confidence. He WAS helpful though...I was glad he was there. Clearly the person in charge of rentals is not doing his job at this location.Keith Y.

The truck was unable to be picked up at my preferred pickup location. I was never notified of this change and there were a handful of trucks of the same size available at that location, so I'm not really sure why I had to drive farther to pick up my truck and why I was not informed where to pick it up ahead of time.Kurt K.

I have rented Uhaul trucks numerous times over several decades at all kinds of facilities. Never have I encountered a facility so horribly unprofessional. To the point that when I called Uhaul after the return the rep asked that I call the police to report a stolen truck, such were the irregularities of the return. The notes are in the two customer service calls I made after the return. The reps at Uhaul were very professional and with their help everything worked out in the end.Daniel B.

The site was a gravel lot with old cars to be worked on all around. I parked the truck next to another U-Haul truck did the online check out and dropped the keys into the drop box. Very simple. The site was literally adjacent to the hotel were I was staying that night, so I must say it was very convenient!MICHAEL F.

The truck was dirty soon arrival. The steering wheel and clutch gave us a hard time putting it in â€œdriveâ€. Numerous times we had to sit there pulling the clutch several times waisting our time that we needed it for. Made our trip very unpleasant.Kaitlyn M.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Mobile check-out was slow and difficult due to the website being extremely slow (30 minutes to complete!!), and check-in was impossible because the website kept crashing - thankfully there were staff on-site who accepted the vehicle for me.Candi D.

I dropped off the truck and the contract was never finalized. They just took the keys and told me they'd take care of it. However, I received several calls from U-Haul stating that I needed to return the truck or face more financial penalties. Finally, 4 days after I turned the truck in, U-Haul made a call to Southtowne Motors and figured out that I was telling the truth and that the truck had been turned in several days earlier. This was an extra 30 min each way. Very disappointed that I didn't get my requested pickup location in Johnstown. I ordered the trailer well in advance and this should have never happen. As I drove by the Johnstown location they had the same trailers.Greg V.

Worst service thing was dirty and then it broke down. Instead of a refund they charge me another day extra and numerous other charges and wait another month to try to bill additional charges after the first one. Forced to rent early and then charged extra for a piece of junk van that needed oil change and wipers didn't work. Set stranded on the side of the road for hours. I think that you should give up the business. Forget renting from here. Worst experience ever.Melanie W.
I was originally sent to lug it to larches location for drop off. Google maps sent me to the wrong location. I spoke with the local uhaul operator (Nikki) and she was very unhelpful. I am completely dissatisfied with this entire experience. I spent an extra 2 hours trying to figure out how to make the situation work.Philip V.

The outside of the truck was filthy and the windshield wipers were damaged which impaired visibility. The box was not swept out and had trash left over from the previous renters. The cab had a water bottle and nicolette chewing gum wrappers. The location was also out of furniture hand truck which made moving more painful. One a good note the person at the location was nice. Rating would be 1 out of 5 and that's just because they were the only ones in town with a truck left.Brent Y.

Back of the truck had a ton of broken glass in it and was filthy. I guess i made the mistake of telling the rental location that i new how to tow a trailer, because they did not even lift a finger to help hook a 6 x 12 trailer up to the truck. The people there also neglected to tell me that there was no tongue jack to even lift it to hook it up. I was there by myself left by myself to hook and unhook this freakin 6 x 12 trailer. The location where the key drop box was had 3 to 4 inches of water in front of it that i had no way to avoid The parking lot was a sheet off ice so i had trouble backing and unhooking the trailer when i returned the unit. The truck just kept spinning its tires on the icy lot when i was trying to back the trailer into the parking spot where they told me to return it to. not to mention there where cars parked all around where they wanted me to back it into the spot. There where no marker light functioning on the trailer. Only brake and turn signals worked. If somebody would have helped hook the trailer up they would have seen there was a problem with the lights. The lot where i had to return the truck and trailer has lots of cars parked everywhere. they are a used car lot/ junkyard and it was not very easy to maneuver the truck and trailer around to return it. I know that everyone bitches about the equipment because they are frantic and just want to move but the equipment was just fine it did what we needed it to do. Aside from the parking lights not working on the trailer. my only real complaint was the level of service from the rental place. I do commend Uhaul for stepping up and discounting the truck and trailer. We reserved a 26 foot box and there was a mixup with the availability, They called my wife to let us know that it was not available for the day we needed it, and offered a 15 foot box and the 6x12 trailer at a discounted rate in place of the 26 foot box. so kudos to them on that move.Andrew L.

When a rental is reserved at a certain time, please have someone there to give you the keys and do paperwork. We, the customer, also have a schedule to keep. I had to walk around and find someone. It put me 25 minutes behind.laura C.

Although the "drop-off" location was convenient, the staff seemed disinterested in providing guidance as to where to put the trailer upon its return. I had to ask the attendant his name so I would be able to identify someone if there were any concerns regarding the trailer return. Had to move the trailer and unhook the trailer without staff assistance not being sure if I was putting the trailer in the right location at the drop-off facility.
