Brakes were very weak, feared going over 30 miles an hour for fear truck wouldn't stop within a reasonable distance. Was also supposed to be a non-contact pickup but staff hadn't done what was needed for that to happen. Also very hard to upload driver's license pic as requested because you keep getting a low memory error, which happens because most modern phone take high resolution pictures that the uhaul pic can't handle the size of, but error message doesn't explain that clearly so you waste a bunch of time if you're not tech savvy or even if you are. Should also have that warning on the site so you never get to error stage, or you know, upgrade your website to current technology or give staff an alternative (especially for areas with bad cell reception.

My truck and trailer were canceled less than 24 hours before I was going to pick it up and I had to drive 100 miles round trip to pick up this truck.

Fix the emergency brake and release on the truck I used. It has been a bit mangled, and I didn't know about it. The U-Haul place I rented from said U-Haul was supposed to fix it but doesn't find it a pressing enough issue to do so.

Problem is with uhaul, reserved truck 30 days in advance and nothing was available on that day, needed to wait an additional day only received notice of problem at 6pm day prior. if you have a reservation it should be guaranteed.

The staff, especially Francisco, were very helpful. The van was relatively new and easy to drive. Seats could have been a little cleaner, but I am not sure staff could do much about it. Ample parking when I returned the van. Overall, a great experience.

The van need oil change . Driver seatbelt sensor need to check because sometime yellow seatbelt Light Blinking on the dashboard . These are what I see and observe. Other than this van is fuel efficiency . I like it with great customer service.

I drove a total of 6 miles. I added .75 gallons of fuel. The company charged me over $7 for fuel charges. I think that this location is inherently dishonest.

1. Rental rate error: I had reserved a 9' van at another location (Woodland) and was told 3 hours before my reservation that it was no longer available. I was told that the earliest Uhaul I could get was a 10' truck at this Davis location, but at the 9' van rate for mileage and rental. Despite explaining all this, I was initially still charged the 10' truck rate at this location. I had to stay on the phone for 30 minutes to talk to a series of Uhaul representatives to change the rate back to the promised 9' van rate, which made a big difference given the distance I had to cover. 2. After hours return: Customers should be informed about the steps to return the vehicle after hours (location check, multiple photos, mileage check etc) before they take off with the vehicle, either in person or via email. The number of things I had to do to return the truck after hours caught me off guard. 3. General comment: The rental process is not streamlined at all and I hope Uhaul executives try renting their trucks every once in a while to see how bad it is.

The van was almost new and except for a small amount of dirt on the floor of the interior it was clean. When starting up the van there was a warning about an oil change needing to be done and after the van was on it said it was needed immediately. We had to go to the counter to ask about it and were reassured it was okay to drive. This step as well as the process of using an app to complete the rental process ate into the four hours we had reserved the truck. I appreciated that the agent allowed us extra time without a charge since this part took longer.

The truck ran well and was more comfortable to drive than my motorhome. The only suggestion I would make is to have the interior and exterior of the windshield cleaned. The truck I rented had a filthy windshield, inside and out.

The online check-in was awful. I thought I was ready to go touchless and it asked me to take a picture of my passport or lease ... After I arrived at the location. Why would I have those with me??? The other option was to list an alt contact. I couldn't list my wife because she was on the reservation. We were the only ones doing the move so who am I supposed to list? I ended up having the attendant cancel the previous reservation and start over with him. Just to check in. So much for simplifying during covid. The worker in person was great and helped me out, the company is bad and only got my business because there's no other real options.

The two gentlemen who helped us were so friendly and organized! The man who mostly helped us made sure we had everything we needed, checked the truck with us to make sure all previous scratches were accounted for, showed us the need to knows inside the cab, and in general were nice to talk to. I wish I remembered their names! I think one was Azish? Not confident on that though, something with an "A".

We reserved our truck and trailer at a location near our house, but a few days before our scheduled pick up, we were notified that we had to pick up our truck at a different location almost an hour away. Then we had to pick up our trailer at yet another location. We spent over an hour and a half driving to pick up equipment. I don't know why we bothered to reserve our truck 2 1/2 weeks early. This location tried to make it better by giving us an extra day to return the truck because of the extra distance, so I don't fault them, it was the original location, or maybe the U-haul reservation system that messed it up for us.

It was a terrible experience all around. I rented a truck on line, I chose the no contact online check in, but it didn't work. The employees showed up late, so I was behind schedule. They didn't have the equipment that I rented and said they aren't U-Haul they are just a distributor. The paper I received on the gas showed there was more gas in the van then was actually in the van. After I dropped it off with more gas then even stated on my paperwork, I was charged for more gas! I had to call and let them know, and it still hasn't been sorted out. It was a terrible experience, and I do t know if I will ever use U-Haul again. I was blown away by how bad the experience was.

Parking is a problem at this location. $20 for check-out and vehicle verification (gas, mileage, and condition of vehicle) is excessive. This should be a FREE service. Its YOUR vehicle.

The reviews on Yelp are true - the employee sped into the parking lot full blast, got out of the car and slammed his door, and cursed that no one checked in to help him on staff for the day. He wore no mask, the Uhaul was not swept, windows were not clean, and equipment (dolly) was left inside from the previous rental. The 3 car parking lot is a nightmare to park in. Terrible location and service.

Office was closed when I went to return the truck. Note said they'd be back at 4pm but they were not and there was a long line. Left the truck with keys in the lock box. Was charged for 3 gallons of gas though I returned it with the same level. Not pleased.

My initial reservation was changed without my knowledge moving the pick up time from 6:00 am to 3:30 p.m. I had to reserve a bigger 20 ft truck costing more which was available at 8:00 am. I am requesting a refund of the difference between the original 15ft truck I reserved and the 20 ft truck I was assigned to which was bigger, harder to drive, and more costly both rental rate and fuel cost. The parking lot for this location is way too small. The few spots that are there are too small to reasonably fit a large uhaul. Then if there are no spots we're supposed to park a couple blocks away on the street. Then I have to walk back in the heat to drop off the key. In the future I will use a different uhaul. Even if I have to drive farther it will be worth it

The entrance to this U-Haul/Self-Storage location is on a slant and very tight. The exit is not on a slant, but has very tight curves. As a new truck driver, I did not like driving truck in and out of this location. I also had to get out of the truck in order to activate the security code machine.

Very personable staff at pick-up and drop-off and very helpful. For the furniture I moved from Oregon, this truck was a perfect drive: good power, comfortable bucket seat, good heat and AC, handled well the entire drive.

Terrible experience - basically U-Haul lets you sign up for after hours pickup using their app, but doesn't tell you it's after hours and the app doesn't work, and there's basically no support or way to address this. I signed up for pickup via the uhaul app. When I arrived, I realized I had to go through a lengthy sign in process, including submitting photos of my drivers license and answering additional questions that I would much rather have submitted when making the original reservation. Mildly annoying, but whatever that's fine. Except that the website doesn't work and keeps failing to load. Staff at the location wouldn't help because they were technically closed (though I was allowed to sign up for a pickup time after close online, and they were still on site). Staff did tell me to download the uhaul app, because the browser website “doesn't work.” So I do that. Still doesn't work, and I get an error message saying that the whole sign in has failed due to an error on Uhaul's part. So I try to call the help number, and am put on hold for 30 minutes before reaching a representative, who says he can help me, and then (accidentally?) hangs up on me about 15 seconds later. After an hour of fiddling about, and just driving home without my truck, I get a message in the app saying I've been approved, and the code to obtain my key is actually given to me. So I drive back and get my truck. I return it on time the next day, and the app appears to be confused that I owe $15 more than the estimate I had already paid. Instead of allowing me to pay the balance on the same card, it demands a different card, for no apparent reason. I click an option that says “contest charge” and just write “app doesn't work”. I think they billed me later. They get 2 stars because the truck worked fine, even though the gas tank wasn't actually full when I got it. But in terms of support, it was awful. Had I known what a huge frustrating pain this would be I would not have signed up to pickup via the app.

The truck was very dusty inside and the driver door creaked when opening. It revs very high before shifting. The accelerator pedal is too close to the brake, fortunately the tranny disengages when the accelerator pedal is pressed at the same as the brake - I've had this problem with other motor vehicles. The soles on my shoes are not slippery. I requested a furniture dolly but when I got to the location I was told by the attendant that they were out and he said he didn't know why they let me reserve it.

The parking lot is to darn small. I had to park around the corner on the street. I tried to call the number several times and I got no answer at the location where I rented the truck. Considering the Corona virus during the time of the rental there was minimal face to face customer service. I do thank the young man there at U haul pickup to guide me through the process via phone.
