They lied about my return date and up charged me.
KAYLA NWhen I turned in the truck at the Sunoco the lady working behind the counter said park the truck over there and bring me the keys. I parked the truck and took the keys into her. She took the keys and I stood there waiting expecting for her to come out from the counter to go with me to inspect the truck, inspect that I had put gas into it to be at the same level etc.... She didn't do any of that and said turning in the keys will show it has been turned in. I was not comfortable with this and went out to my wife waiting in our car to leave and called U haul Customer Service to ensure this was right. My concerns were, what if the clerk has a friend that comes and picks the truck up to use without doing any paperwork, and uses gas or damages it etc.... I would of felt better having it inspected by the employee, having her check the mileage and gas level and providing me with some type of receipt indicating all of this. But just giving the keys and leaving with no receipts etc.... was not good business practice to me.
RODNEY SI opted NOT to have the smart move insurance. My personal insurance is good. But it was STILL on my contract, and I was charged for it. Was not happy.
Kitty PDespite picking it up at a store with gas pumps the truck was on E and I had to immediately get fuel. It said it was 17 miles to empty. Read the second part below.

Shirlee HThis facility is DISGUSTING! Not only is it small and dirty, the staff was extremely rude. Vehicle was never cleaned (not sure if it ever has been…), requested equipment was missing, and furniture pads were piled on the ground next to a dumpster.

When I came to pick up the rental vehicle they just handed me the keys no questions asked, leaving the potential for someone else to come and take my rental. When I had questions about my rental in person the people at the store could not answer any questions I had.
Alexander ZMy biggest issue with this rental overall was actually the U-Haul app. It was running very slowly and had several fits and starts both at our pick up and drop off. At drop off it completely stopped abruptly about 2/3 through and then would not let me access the reservation to finish. It was past the pending charges screen and I see my cc was charged so I just locked the truck and put the keys in the return.
Daniel RExplain how the mileage is rated or provide a form to customers so we can estimate how many miles we ran the odometer. I confirmed the mileage at the beginning of the trip. At least I could see how much I will be charged before I hand in the keys. ?

Phyillis Vwhen I arrived to pick up my reserved and paid for rental, I was told by the clerk that I needed to talk to someone else, who would call me. Not expecting to need my cell phone, I hadn't taken it, so I drove back home to get it. (20 minutes round trip). I received no calls, and when I returned the clerk handed me the keys and said "you had a reservation". Wasted my time and gasoline. Also, the truck was so low on fuel that before I reached my storage unit where I was picking up the load I got the low fuel message. I get that I needed to replenish the fuel I used, but needing to add fuel before I started was annoying.

Deborah RI will never rent from this location again. It was convenient to go to this location because it was in the neighborhood. Once I got the vehicle and started it, it did not sound safe to drive. I reached out to the front desk. She was not aware, so she eventually made a call to who would know. I’m explaining to her I did not want to be charged and to bring it to their attention for safety reason. She told me well they checked it last night and you could give the keys and not use it! Very rude! I definitely would have if I didn’t already give my info and NEED it at that moment. I end up talking to the guy and he told me I wouldn’t be charged for anything mechanical. Fast forward, I end up taking the u-haul because I had no time to go anywhere else. The gas was at a quarter tank to E or 1/16. The expectation was I would fill it up to at least 1/4 at my own expense or receive additional charges! While driving on the highway I felt very unsafe. The steering wheel felt loose and the engine sounded tired. Come to find out, there was something wrong with a stabilizer or something in those regards. A service message popped up on the dashboard while I was driving smh. If I wasn’t paying close attention, I would have not seen that because the message switches back to the odometer. Once the vehicle was returned, I had a couple questions regarding my bill. The lady was short with her answer and once again wasn’t aware. She was very rude whenever I asked valid questions. Overall, my experience was horrible and I will NEVER rent from them again. P.S. Their gas pumps didn’t work bc they were getting cleaned. Super inconvenient if you need gas. They had no indication that pumps would be back on soon.

DARLENE MDidn't get my moving dolly. I wanted a moving dolly. I needed one. Didn't get it. Got charged. Not cool. Truck was there and clean.
PETER AHad to wait longer than usual because the staff member had to get approval from someone that was not at the at the facility and couldn't understand the staff member because his English was not up the par so it 3:30 appointment to pick up and I didn't get out of there till 4:00 and I was the only U-Haul customer there
eric dThe location took an hour to authorize me, truck was filthy on the inside with wood shavings and debris and the outside if the truck was completely scratch led and they send me a pictures at first showing the trucks condition which was way worse that what it was in the pictures. Never again

Herbert LPicked up the vehicle about 12 noon on Thursday…dropped the vehicle off around 7 pm Friday night. Had to pay the 3 day rental rate…why is that?
Dave LThe U-Haul phone application did not function properly and complicated the transaction. The people at location were able to fill the void of U-hauls unresponsive application gateway. Trying to utilize the app increased pick up time.
Lonnie GThe vehicle only had 33 miles left to empty. That was the only issue I just had to make sure I made it to a filling station to put fuel in it although I was only doing 20 miles some vehicles are off on what the computer says other than that everything was great
Stewart BThis was my first time using UHaul so I would have found it better to have had someone at the location to get me settled with the truck and answer questions. Pickup was at a convenience store gas station - so the clerk was not real pleasant - she called Uhaul representative who we talked to on her phone. The representative was nice, but it was good that I had checked in ahead of time and submitted license because I don't know how they would have done it there if we hadn't.

Scott PSeemed like no one knew what was going on and I was charged $20.00 more then the uhaul website said. I even put more gas then I got it with. The mileage was wrong on the app and I took a picture but was still charged for over mileage. Lesson learned and I will just go to the normal uhaul where it’s all uhaul.

Herbert Lpulled in parked the truck in the mostly empty lot, dropped the keys and the agreement in the box and was on my way.
Christina HWe were missing part of our rental: blankets, a dolly, and a furniture cart. This ruined our move yesterday. We had to move because we had to get out of our rental in time but lacked the equipment to do it efficiently, safely, and effectively. Furniture was damaged because we did not have these tools.

Jeremiah GThis company has an awful return policy. I returned the vehicle on 3/22/2022 @ 3:30 pm. Today is 3/24/2022 @ 11:07 pm and I still don’t have my refund for the rental fee. I called the company yesterday after 2 hours of returning the vehicle. She stated that when she returns to work she will complete my order. Very unprofessional service. My 1st and last time going there.
maria cI was told one thing! And yall are illegally going through my account on balance not spoken about! No contact. But when u reached out! The lady told me my card was not on file. And later find out they are going through my account . I'm on the phone with the bank reporting you as a fraud it's sad I never ever gotten a uhaul before and is put through this humiliation this is not acceptable Please review and contact me

Earline WThis location is where I wound up and it was fine, however this was my original pickup location, 5267 Simpson Ferry Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Absolutely horrible. First the gentleman that was there never acknowledged I was in the office as he was poking away on the iPad. Then when he did take the time I told him I was there to pick up a 20' truck to which he replied, "not here you're not." I told him I had a reservation number that proves otherwise. I was fuming as he didn't really even offer to help figure out what the problem was. I went to another dealer to get away from that one and she helped me figure out that someone was supposed to call me and let me know the pickup location changed. That did not happen. She verified that. So I spend the first 2-3 hours of that morning when I should have been loading, trying to find my truck. Very frustrating. I did not get the entire move done as I ran out of time. I usually have great experiences with U-Haul, but not even close this time.

JASON KPut 5 gallons of gas in for a 57 mile trip in a ten foot truck and they still charged me for two more gallons, at $3.56 a gallon I might add. Rip off!!!!
Ralph OThe location was changed on us less than 24 hours before pick up meaning we had to rearrange our moving schedule. The truck was also not the truck we reserved. When we called our original location, they gave us 400 extra free miles to make up the difference but that was not honored at our new location. The truck was not there when we arrived, the Sunoco worker didn't know what was going on, and the items we requested were not with the truck. Very terrible experience and we will never use Uhaul again because of this experience.

BENJAMIN CI rented a U-Haul just two weeks ago and it was the worst experience of my life and I have been using U-Haul for yearssssssss. But I used a location in Owings mills Maryland and one in Allentown Pa. this tiny one on N Front was so much friendlier and faster and I didn’t have to be on the phone on hold for two hours. Will use only them again!
