PAT O | Overall ExperienceI would never use Sunshine self storage again. If I need Uhaul I will used the site my storage is in if they are not available than I will use another one. I received a call the day before my Uhaul site mentioned it would be 48 hours before. The person spoke to was very nice although I was not happy which the location for the pick. My Uhaul site where my storage was mentioned that it would be possible that my pick would be further out. Anyway I never received a email, text, or did not see this information on the Uhaul site/app when I signed in. I didn’t know the address to this all I remember was it was Shelton. I finally looked it up and it gave me a name that wasn’t Uhaul so I was confused at first when I got someone in the phone I didn’t care for her attitude. I read reviews before hand and I like to go by my own experience. I wasn’t sure what her issue was by the end of the call her attitude was ok but customer service needs to be more mindful. Next I was transferred to another because I did not see my reservation he had an attitude as well. If I had a attitude with customer service I can understand but I only was asking questions because I didn’t received verification for my reservation. I hung quickly and thanked him for his time because he did not seem to be happy. The New Jersey site in Jersey City the people were very nice and I would do business with them. I would never used the Shelton CT location Sunshine self storage for any reason. I would rather go further than deal with that.
Bedredia DNice staff : hours great : no nonsense for the pricing : it’s busy on a Sunday if you are on a end unit you may need to play car and truck Tetris but other than that ALL good!!

Bohdan LWireless service is very spotty in this area and I wasn't even sure that I did my return correctly on the app because it froze numerous times and then it just went back to the beginning of the return and there is nothing to return. It's in return with completed.

Additionally, the code to open the key box had to be text to my a second time while I stood at the key box. Pickup of the auto-transport at the 1650 Dixwell Hamden, CT location was much better. Daisy, Carmen and Ricky were outstanding. It is not surprising what the human component can add to a transaction.
Lawson RMy location was changed last minute from in my same town to 30 minutes away. The after hours process is not clear. Bad experience.

When I called to see if I could change to a different drop off location I was hung up on twice. Very poor customer service.

Luis CThis is my recommendation and observation when I pickup the cargo van. The steering wheel he was a little sticky in some coffee stain. To enforce more the area of the driver and passenger touch. To be more clean and disinfect the area of the steering wheel, keys, window and Etc. So I clean the area and disinfect for my own protection. Otherwise it was excellent and easy to rent the cargo van with no problem and the customer service it was wonderful. Thank you Uhaul.
Noheli SI had a lot of trouble with my after-hours pick up due to issues with the U-Haul website. I also had trouble with the app when trying to drop the van off. These issues costed me over an hour in wasted time.
Ilyas JI was told the van is cleaned and sanitized after every use. I found a used face mask on the dashboard. Kind of gross. Also was asked if I returned it clean enough for next renter. Again I hope someone goes in and sanitizes/ckk lol eans van before next use. I left the mask where it was.

ANGELO D | Overall ExperienceIt has been over 4 years since I last used u haul for moving furniture. I was able 2 order my van on line. It was quite easy. However, when I arrived at the site, no one was there. I was unaware that your system was all via internet. Thank goodness a man was at his storage site, he gave me a number 2 call. Once I got in touch with a representative, she talked me thru the system . I am not technically savvy, she was friendly and patient, helping me every step of the way.. I think if you would have a section stating how & what you have to do with this self serve system would be very helpful!! The staff at Sunshine storage was wonderful.

RICHARD DEnsure that the code provided to the customer is the correct code for the lock to get the key, especially for before hours/after hours pick up. When we showed up for an 8 am pick up, the code provided for the key box was the incorrect code, and we needed to call a regional manager to come unlock it, as there was no one on site, which unfortunately delayed our truck pickup by over an hour. We also had requested furniture pads, which were not provided in the truck, and despite informing customer service about this,l and being told that they would be removed from the rental, we were still charged for the furniture pads. Otherwise, the truck ran well and was filled to full with gas, which was greatly appreciated.

I would like to highly praise Latasha Mc Master from Tennessee , for the outstanding customer service quality she provided me. Also, make the entire rental process easier to navigate and certainly less reliable n your Customer service.
Jorge CI didn’t interact with anyone here, it was simply a key drop off location with instructions on how to move forward. It was easy and straightforward, except that the location’s address wasn’t on the actual street the address was listed as. It was on a side street with minimal signage.
Courtney MPossibly the worst experience I’ve ever had with renting a vehicle. Also the dolly didn’t have a green wire tie on it so if you charge me I’ll sue. Thanks.
NICHOLAS JThe lock to get the key was difficult. I was unable to open it. I called the number for assistance. The woman was very helpful. Apparently those locks you need to line up exactly for the bolt to open. Well that’s an understatement. Maybe using an electronic keypad would be better than the bolt with lining up letters

Reginald LThe van smelled like cigarette smoke upon entry. The mileage on my contract was a higher mileage than the actual mileage of the vehicle (I have photo evidence of this). Also, the renter told me the gas gauge was full. Upon entry, it was just about 3/4 of a tank.

Demetrius NOverall it was very much the average UHaul experience. The only negatives was that when we arrived to pick the truck up, the office was closed (at least 30 minutes before their scheduled closing, and 15mins before our scheduled pick up time). In addition to this, the truck was entirely frozen and covered with 1-2 inches of ice, which I understand after the storm that we have had, but the fact that no one had even attempted to prepare the truck for dispatch, and us as the customer having to spend a good hour to defrost just did not seem right.

Deborah CVery, very hard to find. We arrived two hours before closing but the clerk was leaving and told us to do it by computer. Computer didn’t work, and we had to call Lynn to complete the transaction. The good news was that the truck worked great.

Doug hI rent the cargo van each time I have to move my son in and out of college. I have never had a problem with anything from the reservation to the return. The van is always ready and clean, the staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the whole experience is always very easy and pleasant. I highly recommend Sunshine Self Storage for any UHaul rental.

victoria kNeed outside lights at dusk and perhaps a posted phone number to call for instructions. Ran into problems with after hour return and it is pretty isolated. Also, it is on a hill so you cannot get an accurate read of how much gas you are returning the vehicle with. It showed less than what was actually in the tank.
