In the middle of nowhere

I was charged three times I was told the first time it was going to be $49 it ended up being $138 I was told that I would get half of that back as a deposit not only did I not get the deposit back I also was charged two more times the truck was returned clean with the same amount of gas with under the mileage I was allowed to use I should have gotten a refund and I did not and I'm not happy about it never mind the fact that it took me almost 2 hours to rent it because the gentleman ran into me did not know how to work the technology / computer / know how to type plus it was closing time and they were trying to rush through it and kept messing up and kept having to start over it was just frustrating it cost me double what it should have cost I specifically said I needed a furniture dolly and an appliance dolly I didn't get either one of them I ended up having to leave my washer and dryer refrigerator and other multiple pieces of furniture behind and take a total loss because I had no way of loading them by myself they knew I was moving by myself they knew I needed the dollies but since they were closed and I had to be out of my house the next morning that was the only night I had to move so I had no help moving I lost about $5,000 worth of my personal furniture and appliances because they didn't give me what I requested and again I was overcharged so no I'm absolutely not happy at all with the service that I received renting a U-Haul. I used to manage storage facilities and I also rented out U-Hauls I always make sure anyone that rented a U-Haul from me and my store had what they needed. They didn't even go out with us and go over the truck or anything they were just ready to go home. This move ended up costing me about a five or six thousand dollar loss between all the stuff that I didn't get to move because I didn't have a dolly the double charging the U-Haul and just all the other expenses of moving and all of that could have been prevented if I would have just had the equipment that I needed

The only issue we had with this rental is we called the corporate store in Mooresville which was only 1/2 mile from where we were staying. We told them that we did not have time to drive to a different location to pick this trailer up. The person we spoke with said they understood. The day before we get a call from U-haul office and said we were scheduled to pick up the trailer, etc, but it had this location. My husband told the rep we specifically told the other location that we did not have time to go 20 mins away and the only response he got was "oh sorry, this is where the trailer is at". Now we reserved this trailer a little over a week prior to the date of pick-up so they had plenty of time to get this to the location we wanted. This happened last time as well, which that time they were sending us 30 mins away. The man at the location we ended up having to go to was very nice so nothing against him at all.
