Truck was dirty inside, check engine light on, twice on the way home the front left marker light assembly fell out of the grill, steering felt lose.

DANIEL PHe was more interested in making sandwiches than getting my rental. I had to call uhaul myself to get the rental because of all the uhaul problems with their software. Totally unacceptable... totally defeated the purpose of putting all my information into the uhaul database like credit card and drivers license info.

Patricia Jwith no notice I was told to drive with the unlit trailer 10 miles south on hwy 98. When I got to Dade City I was to go to the auto parts store and purchase an electrical adapter so as to activate the lights. ??Why didn't the u-haul dealer have the necessary electrical adapter. on hand? ??Was its legal to send me on the road with no trailer electric connection no brakes, no lights? You should call me by phone soon!
Norvan MThe Uhaul site and rep told me the location was open until 8pm so I tried to return it at 7pm. I got there at 7:03pm only to be told the place closed at 7. The clerk at the store took my name, number and contract number and told me to drop it in the lot out back and she would check it in when the store opened in the morning. Uhaul needs to make sure hours are correct with drop off locations as I had to go several miles out of my way to get to this drop off point that was dark and not well lit. Matter of fact, I almost passed it up even with GPS on as it was dark as was the store.
JEFFREY MTry to make sure there is gas in the truck. When we picked up the truck in a rural area it was scary to hope we could make it to a gas station before running out of gas. We returned the truck with a full gas tank so the next customer won't have to face the same ordeal. Otherwise, Julian was very accommodating to us.
DEBRA OThe ac did not work in the truck and it seemed to need a tune up. The process to check-in took forever. I waited at the location for over 20 min for the u-haul rep to show up. There was no internet service for either of the cell phones we had with us (2 separate providers) within the facility so I had to stand outside to check-in.

James SThere were no personnel at this site, but when I called 1-800-GOUHAUL, the staff were attentive to my situation at hand, when the dropoff system wasn't working on my phone. The after hours truck dropoff tutorial is helpful. I took pictures just in case. I received a good response by phone and by e-mail the next day. I turned in the truck the night before the 6/3/23m 3:00 PM deadline. I'm not sure what would have happened at that location had I turned in the truck during work hours on 6/3/23.

Glenn FIt was 17 miles from my location and there were several closer locations to me.
Luigi PDrop off was almost 30 minute drive from my house. Any location in Brooksville would have been much easier to get to. Will not rent from U-Haul again if I would have to bring it back to that location again. Personnel would not park the truck but bossed us around how to position and place the truck and trailer on the grass lot. lot was muddy and I was afraid to get stuck in his lot. Brought back the truck a day early but was still charged $15 for gas. Looks like U-Haul needs every penny they can get.

Deanna MTravelled further from Zephyrhills to pick up my enclosed trailer from this location, and I'm glad I did. I provided most of the rental info prior to picking up and I was in and out very quick. Returning was also painless - dropped trailer into a spot, ran in thinking I have to do more paper work, but nothing else...

Johnny MLocation had an unkept dirt parking area. The area was muddy and had deep puddles. This was a neighborhood market that looked to be built in the early 70's. This location is in a rural area, down very narrow roads. Staff did not seem experienced with U-haul.
michelle mthe reason I picked this location because of the convenience of the available hours. The responsible person was not there and the people who were there don't know what to do. I had to unhook the trailer myself and there were no way confirm my return. I would never use this location ever again.

VICTORIA SPrior to scheduling, I went to another location to have them check my truck to ensure I had everything needed for towing a cargo trailer. They assured me that it did. On the day of pick-up, the gentleman attempted to connect the trailer to my truck and informed me that the ball hitch was too big. This resulted in me calling around for hours trying to find the correct size that would fit my drop hitch adapter. Failing that, I had to buy a completely new drop hitch ($63) along with the new ball ($9). The whole process of leaving U-Haul, calling around, driving to get the new one, getting the tools for installing and getting it switched out took 5 hours. And by that time, my moving help had to leave to go to another pre-arranged appointment. When I got back to U-Haul, the link to verify the damage on the trailer had expired and they couldn't figure out how to resend it to me. They assured me that the pictures I took of the beat up old trailer would suffice. Luckily, I didn't run into any trouble when I returned the trailer. My advice to U-Haul would be to have a testing device that hooks over the ball hitch rather than personnel simply measuring. If I ever have to use U-Haul again, which I hope is never because of what an ordeal the whole thing was from beginning to end, I will have them actually try to hook up the trailer before pick-up day. The pick-up location also asked me to identify a drop-off location from 4 selections. I told him that it was already arranged for me to drop off at the self-storage in Oklahoma City, so he chose 'other'. I thought it was strange, but then again I also thought it was odd how the self-storage reservation showed up in the online system too.
APRIL SIt's a convenience store 15 miles away from where I moved and not the original local drop off location. No one to check in the truck. Would not have known it was the right place had there not been one other Uhaul truck there.
