When we dropped off our U-Haul, it was closed. It took us an hour to use the online drop off service. Every time we submitted a picture it said it wanted it taken again. And people were burning stuff next-door so we were covered in thick smoke for 20-30 minutes of the hour because it was next to the parking lot and then they were also spraying strong chemicals. I don’t know what the inside of the store looks like, but the outside experience was not something I would recommend.

DIANA JMy recommendation would be to continue to model this locations customer service and efficacy too all sites. Excellent location! The personnel were very helpful, fast, courteous, knowledge able; which made the pick up and rental experience perfect. The (online) booking which is a separate process, which can not communicate with the rental equipment place; can be risky for the customer. One obligates themselves to an UHaul affiliate which may be in another town when payment is held for the reservation. I did multiple weeks in advance calling local sites to me about trucks availability in this timeframe. The were multiple location around my area in Saint Joseph, MI 49085 which adds the expensive fuel charge at all portions of the moving event from pick up to final drop off. I understand that UHaul can not control the price of the fuel but can directly control how much the mileage rate is charged. $1.19 per mileage seems a lot to hard working folks that may be in trouble financially with moving from - to - locations. Other than that area of the rental experience, I thought everything was excellent. My confidence was boosted by calling the Saint Joseph location. Great work. MICHAL MNot a thing. We have moved quite a lot over the years, and this was hands down the smoothest truck leasing experience ever. Polite staff, clean equipment, no wait time, vehicle available when needed even in this arctic weather.

The process of using my phone to scan barcodes on my ID and at the location did not work. Would be better to just use pictures from my phone.

ronald tEntire process worked well. Really my only comment ( and it doesn't really impact the location) is simply that the truck I rented was quite old ( 178K miles ) and the shocks were clearly terrible. Very, very rough ride. UHaul needs to upgrade their fleet and retire older vehicles. But the location was great, no complaints.
KENT ABe nicer to have a paved drive and parking lot.
LARRY KThis was the second location I had to use to drop off truck. I went to drop off location that was on my rental agreement and then I was told that I had to go to another location. I had to back up 26 foot truck in small parking lot which was not easy.

JAKE LIt took more than two hours to complete pickup when location was closed. There seemed to be a technical issue receiving information from my Iphone on the tmobile network. When I finally got connected to a human that had authority to resolve my problem, it was reasonably promptly solved. I might add that on return in Chicago the uhaul application worked smoothly. Hold times of 35 to 55 minutes for each of the four agents preceding this final one are just unacceptable.

Michelle MI reserved this trailer online. It asked me what date I wanted it, and what time (8:00am) It then asked what date I wanted to return it-but did not ask what time. Later that day I received an email asking me to confirm the drop off time. It gave me a drop down which only went to 8 am. Imagine my panic when I thought I had to return it by 8 am the next day and I wasn’t done with it. I immediately “chatted” with someone online and was able to reserve it until 2pm. I actually returned it at 11:30 am-but was charged extra. I don’t like surprises-I wish I had known that I only had 24 hours when I reserved it.
KIMMBERLY KThe app crashed and the rental no longer shows up on my profile. I have no clue if I have fees coming my way, if the vehicle is properly checked back in and what my charges were.

Logan RI put in close to three gallons of gas in my truck. Almost 90 miles worth and I drove maybe 60 miles at the very most. You still charged me. Scam. Anything to screw the faithful customer. I’ve used you many times. No more. I won’t ever rent from you again.

Eric RNot exactly a comment on this location, but please note - someone put a "speed kills" sticker right over the top of the speedometer, so I could not read it in the 50-70 mph range. I get the point, but would have been better at the bottom of the gauge.

Chris GI liked the folk at this location, super friendly. The vehicle was not great. That is not this location's fault. The vehicle was in need of maintenance that was likely not done due to a quick turnaround on the rental. Ensure that places have the ability to maintain the vehicles without massive loss in inventory. The actual Uhaul Store up the road should be capable of trading out vehicles that need maintenance, so that vehicle remains safe, and your partners remain equitable. This Van was substantially past due for an oil change, and badly needed an alignment. Not to mention whatever was all over the vents. On a more personal note, charging $20 for an inspection if your customer doesn't stand in a parking lot at 4 am and take 50 pictures before your computer accepts them is crap. And if I were to recoeve that charge it would be disputed on grounds of saftey. I have never been to a UHaul location with a lot where I feel particularly secure while taking those pictures after hours, but I rarely have the ability to deal with it during open hours
