I arrived to the store, door was locked, owner is nowhere to be found. I call uhaul to see what's going on, the guy shows up. Barely says two words, I pay he comes and looks as I hookup the trailer and then leaves. We'll the lights decide not to work, after checking my fuses I walk around the trailer only to find wires exposed on the passenger side fender. I tried calling g uhaul to explain the situation, only to be told I have to ask for a refund from the owner...which had left asap. So because I could not take the trailer because I'm not getting rear ended for the lack of lights working o the trailer. So I guess I'm just out 60$ the trailer stayed there for the entirety of the rental time. Thank you uhaul, I will make sure to let everyone I can know how terrible the service was and how little you cared that I just paid to rent a trailer I couldn't use.Anthony H.

Paid for a dolly ($10 for the day) and never received it. Since everything is done online, there was no way to get one. Cost more money than it should have as I didn't even get the products I reserved and had to figure out another way!!! Not impressed with uhaul at all. WHAT A RIP OFF!!John L.

Originally made a reservation for a truck in Hanmer, ON. However when I went to pickup the truck their was none available. After being on a lengthy hold with U-Haul the customer service representative could not locate any available trucks. Within a few minutes I got a call back from U-Haul scheduling I believe it was and thankfully she was able to find us the truck we used at another location.Sheldon A.

I had no issue with this particular location, but the experience as a whole was terrible. I booked a month in advance to ensure I would have the appropriate truck on moving day. Two days before I was due to move, I was notified that only a 20' was available. I had specifically booked a 15' as anything larger couldn't be parked near the door of the building I was moving from, meaning significantly more effort to move. At the same time, my reservation was reduced from 24 hours to 7, with no reduction in rate. In fact, I was charged a higher price for the larger, less convenient truck I had not reserved. Pickup location was moved further away - another increase in cost due to additional miles and gas. On arrival, I discovered their online check in process is terrible, and lost nearly an hour of the already reduced rental time. I wasn't the only person there having this issue. Was hung up on by online chat when I asked them to explain how I was supposed to send a 'non-digital' photo lof my drivers license online. Gas tank isn't full on pickup, meaning when you return it either you haven't filled it enough, and they can overcharge you for refilling and slip in a few extra litres in the process, or you overfill it and give them free gas yourself, as the gauge is tiny and not partifularly well marked. Easily rectified by requiring the tank to be full, but I guess Uhaul isn't going to give up the extra fees. Overall an extremely frustrating experience. Last time I will ever use Uhaul.Brian C.

The location is easy to get to from the major roads. Unfortunately we needed help getting the trailer off the hitch and there was no one there to help us. Fortunately we were able to have a kind gentleman who was using the car wash assist us. If you need help this would not be a good location. But we were checked out quickly the next day.Peter N.

Ensure that the interior of the vehicle's cab is wiped down, especially the dash board. In these time of COVID, the steering wheel, seats, arm rests and all controls should be sanitized. Ensure that the windshield wash fluid is topped-up and the windshield is washed--there was not windshield wash and windshield was full of bid splatter.James K.

We were given the wrong keys and had to wait an hour before the guy got there to get the right ones. Due to this, we lost time and money on the movers we hired. The van was not clean (garbage inside and spilled pop), AND we were charged a cleaning fee of $25 because we didn't fold the blankets we rented. I guess there was no "cleaning fee" for the people who had it prior to us and we ended up footing their bill? I sent pictures to the online site when you first pick up your truck to prove it wasn't us, but I'm guessing that was ignored. Absolutely horrid experience all around during a stressful time in our lives.Denis M.

20 ft truck rented. Had been smoked in so heavily that it stank horribly. There was cigarette ash all over the dashboard. So much for extra cleaning measures during covid. Some of the rented pads stank so badly of animal urine they were unusable.Roger C.

Went to get trailer it cost more then I was quoted, plugged trailer in and it kept blowing the running light fuse on my truck, none of my 5 other trailers do this with my truck and I had to do night driving as I was picking up a car in north bay. Car straps were all ripped and tattered. Had a paper license plate on trailer, trailer was parked in a snow bank and covered in ice at the rental location. I was stopped by police in north bay due to the paper license plate and no running lights, was given a warning as it was a problem with your equipment and as a mechanic i was able to show police it was a trailer issue. Was not impressed one bit with the overall experiencejames C.

Wasn't happy with the customer service..he wasn't pleasant nor did he seem to care about his customer..not very good interpersonal skills. In these trying times I know everyone is going through their own hell however that was very poor customer service and I wasn't having a good morning myself and didn't take it out on him so being mindful of others especially in the customer service line of work, being kind, polite and showing some appreciation for choosing your business would go a long way. I think if you don't enjoy what you do you shouldn't do it at all as customer support and service goes a long way if you want your customer returning.? Have a great day! Thanks ChristieCHRISTIE B.

My initial reservation was for a location that was less than 1 KM away from my house. I ended up being redirected to 2 other locations before getting a confirmation on my UHaul. I had to spend more money on fuel due to this issue. Upon getting the UHaul at a location across town, the windshield wiper didn't work. I ended up having to get yet another truck. Upon return, the store hours on the website did not reflect the actual store hours causing me to have to get a cell phone to do a online return. Was not a great experience.STEVEN N.
