Not everyone wants to check in and check out trucks on phones. If you are paying an employee to sit there, they should be able to do this instead of your customer

Mikayla KThe Uhaul was a mess inside. There was melted chocolate and liquid spilled on the floor of the interior of the cab. Then there was oil that was spilled or leaking all over the back ramp and on the back of the unit that got all over everything.

Richard AI appreciated the ability to check in personally as found the app a bit cumbersome- but I am a senior citizen, so not as comfortable with the idea . The truck drove well and was as clean as one could expect. I needed to keep it longer than anticipated and was assured that was not a problem which was a huge help. Very convenient and inexpensive way to move. The rented Dollie’s were indispensable!

Chase JEmployee did not show up until almost 9:20, although posted hours were 9-4, the truck cab was dirty, there was no windshield washer fluid, the employee stated we would not have the equipment we ordered as they did not have blankets or dollies there. When we opened the back the dolly and blankets were there . The employee clearly did not know or care about the reservation or equipment.
Brian EI usually have a great experience with you guys. I have used Uhaul at least 4 other times. The truck smelled a bit of smoke. The truck was dirty on the inside. It worked fine no problems there.

Lila SThe truck/van was fine. Glad they had it. They did not have a utility dolly I had requested, though. If there hadn’t been a cart at both locations where I needed to move stuff, that could have been an incredible inconvenience.

Messain KTruck cab smelled like smoke. There was a leak from the roof of the cargo area that we discovered when it started raining, so some of our stuff got wet.
Erik PI know it's alot to do but I would ask for each truck to be cleaned and deodorizer. It pays to have a clean, good smelling truck. Just a suggestion not a command.

Kenneth GThe woman at the Self Storage was helpful. We had multiple problems with the app. We were not able to upload the photos of the mileage or gas tank. We tried on 2 separate phones with no luck. We were not able to use your app to rent the vehicle, so in the future, we will rent from a location that has staff. When we opened the door for the first time, all of the materials around the door (weather stripping?) fell down and repeatedly did this throughout the rental. I trired to share the problems in the 1st email that was sent to us, the link to share a review did not work.
Cheryl MThe equipment was broken. It took 2 hours for someone to get to us to get it fixed and it delayed our move significantly. I also could not get the online pickup to work for an amount of time. I also think you should be able to do your liscense check prior to pick up. Overall a very stressful and unfortunate experience.
Elena RI was charged for a $20 after hours service fee even though I completed the online steps that were texted to me. The lady at the counter when I picked up the vehicle did not want to answer my questions about dropoff and said that it had to be mobile, so I didn't know where to park the truck when I returned it. I parked the truck in the spot where I picked it up. The website was hard to use, and should have noted earlier in the return menu that I needed to allow it to access my location on my phone because it wasn't able to see that I was back at the rental area. Overall, I wish there was more information potentially in the truck clearly stating where it should be brought when returned since the staff did not tell me. The truck was very low on gas when I picked it up, so it was hard to tell at the gas station how much to put in versus if the tank was full when I picked it up I would know to just put gas in until it was full.
Julia MUpon returning the truck, the app was frustrating and didn’t work, even with phone help from a nice customer service call. I was not made aware there was no ramp or dolly, or blankets, or straps included with the truck… last time I rented a truck all of that was provided. The windshield was filthy and hindered clear viewing ( I didn’t realize how bad it was until I returned the truck after dark. Check engine light was on, along with the tire pressure sensors. Also, where you turn on the headlights, those knobs pushed in and broke away from the dashboard, causing a very brief moment of anxiety that I had broken something. I was able to maneuver it and pull it back, snapping it I to place. Overall, it got the job done, and I would come back. Next time I will know to ask about what is provided. I should have known better, but this was a bit of a scramble putting this move together. Perhaps some of this could have been told to us without having to ask.
Chris MTo a none computer savvy person, the help wasn’t very helpful. The woman I talked to (she was person number three) was very helpful but it still took us over an hour to get to the key. Never again!!!
Sharon DThe counter person was great to work with as the app was clearly not working. HOWEVER, as of this writing, it appears I was charged twice, I had to give my credit card to the counter person to get the truck, and my wife typed in her credit card online. This better get fixed. ASAP

rick mStruggle with the online pick up process. I didn't know there was staff on site until some other renters showed up and went inside. Once there they have blankets that were on my rental reservation.
Jill REmployee did not know what he was doing for the truck return. The truck return was not finalized until I contacted UHaul directly. If I had not done that, I would have been charged a late fee. And, this incompetence meant that the truck was not available if someone else had been looking to rent it. He also did not know what he was doing for renting a storage unit. Our access code to the storage facility did not work, so he used his employee code to let us in while he “worked on” the issue. This resulted in me having to do all the heavy lifting because when my husband came, he could not get in to help us. Extremely frustrating !!
Pamela ENot UHaul's problem per se, but definitely the storage location contractor's problem. Terrible staff. The one person that runs the place is extremely rude, downright belligerent. I have never been treated like this before at least as a customer. The person effectively started rude and annoyed the minute I walked in, and got worse from there. I was trying to be helpful offering to do whatever they needed me to do to help, in large part because I was trying to figure out what I did to begin with to draw such an attitude, but no success. It was so bad that another customer who was there and I didn't know still made a comment to me about how unbelievably rude and terrible the treatment and the service was. Avoid if you can.

Ira SNo help was given at pickup and the worker left for break right after giving me the keys so I was stuck trying to figure out how to get out of the gate. There are no instructions on how to get out. Upon return the app and website did not work for after hours return. LUCKILY a worker was there and helped me return the truck but I was informed by this worker that the site and app NEVER works for after hour returns. Considering I moved far away I needed to return the truck that night as I'm sure other customers need to drop off after hours as well. Consistently having an app and website that does not work is not acceptable for how much money this company charges. I've been using U-Haul since I was 20 and in the 10 yrs of using this service this was the worst experience I've had to date. No one needs to worry about returning their truck after hours after moving. Moving is already a very stressful experience and this part should be easy, instead it was the most difficult. Not happy.
danika HSmelled like cigarettes. Ash tray needs a wet wipe down. Associate Marinda was friendly and very helpful. What happened to corporate? My Uhaul service from them has gone from 5 to 1 star. Customer server was down, booking times not updated, poor training. I had to take my hitch business elsewhere because after three visits, corporate ineptitude led to employees not being able to get my hitch done.
Alvin DThe interior (cab) of the truck was dirty with dry stains in the cup holders. Blankets and a random towel were all over the trailer. The employee was not helpful and had a poor attitude when asked simple questions. I will never rent from this location again.

Angela RThere was a bag of trash in the back that we left there. The truck was over 100,000 miles, but ran well. Worst flaw was the windshield that appeared scratched from a bad wiper blade. Process was easy and agent was great - I would rent here again.
David WON an after hours drop-off someone was kind enough to inform me that the trucks needed to be dropped off inside the gated storage lot. She opened the gate for me, otherwise I may have been charged extra. The website and app get 2/5 stars. After requesting a 15' truck, it reserved one in another city 45 minutes away all the while indicating it was at the pickup location I specified. I received a call from the pickup location confirming the pickup and I had to get customer support to reserve a smaller vehicle in town. Upon trying to return the truck using the app, the u-Haul app did not let me take photos of the truck for the return process.
Justin CWas very unhappy that my UHaul pickup location was changed from Eagan to Bloomington with no notification at all. I scheduled a pickup location 2 minutes from my address. Instead I had to rent a shorter truck. Very poor customer service.
David CThe location manager Tabatha could not have been a more unpleasant, rude, lazy, and condescending person if she tried. I’m being completely serious. She told us a truck wasn’t available, so I said went to my car, booked one AT THAT LOCATION and walked back in to pick it up (the reservation was for that exact time). Tabatha told me she wasn’t giving me the truck and that it wasn’t available again. I showed her my reservation and she refused again saying it wasn’t in her system. I told her I have the confirmation number and she refreshed and poof there it was. She reluctantly gave me the keys, told me I must return it by noon (even though my reservation was through 1:30 PM) and said to pull it around myself. I did not want to navigate the truck through their maze of storage units but she refused to pull it to the front for me. I did it myself. Upon returning the truck prior to my contracted time, I put surplus gas, gave her the mileage and just wanted a receipt. She said that one would be emailed in a super rude tone. At this point I’m freaking done with this lady and told her I need a paper receipt, that the emailed receipt didn’t come through my email yet. She said fine but I need to wait outside (for no reason, it’s below freezing out). At this point I’m heated and told her I’ll wait inside unless she wants to trespass me over asking for a receipt. She starts working with a guy who came in after me and after five minutes of realizing I’m not leaving without a receipt reluctantly printed it and our business was done. Few words describe how I feel about that interaction but I’m sure you can think of a few. I have audio and video of my interaction with her. I will contact their management and corporate and do everything within my rights to ensure she doesn’t have the opportunity to treat another customer like that again. Such an awful human being. Miserable person. Good riddance. What I think happened is she was allowing friends or family to use it off the books for free and I screwed up her plans. I believe that’s why she lied about the availability and treated me like crap from the start. Why else would you actively push people away from renting a uhaul unless you’re just a lazy miserable human being.
Jeremy SPaid full price for six blankets and found to be only four blankets after reaching sixty mile destination. Needed those two blankets! Returned blankets to original location during scheduled business hours to a notice of “Be back soon” to waiting over an hour for no one to return. Left four blankets at door front with contract paperwork. Phoned emergency number listed on store sign to a recording! Not a proper way to conduct business for any of these instances.
