"The units are well-maintained and overall everything has been great. However, there's a strong smell of mothballs throughout the unit, which gives me a headache. I assume it might be from some kind of conditioner or spray used inside. Other than that, the service is solid. I just have to keep rewashing my clothes whenever I take them out, especially before wearing them in stores."

If you aren't allowed to move things around in a car, I totally get that but then call me to say can you please move the seats or at check in, why not confirm that the seats or other items are not in the way. I just called to schedule another appt to finish the job. This is really annoying and bad service. If you can call to say the car is done you can also call to say we need the seats moved.

However, being that this was the first time that I was dropping off equipment using my phone (app), I wasn't sure if I was to supposed to interact with an employee. The gentleman came up to the truck, I asked him what I was supposed to do as I was using my app and he literally gave me no response. He did go in the back and open up the back. When I was done taking pictures, following instructions on the phone to park the truck. There was no "drop off box" for the key. So I gave it to the employee who just looked at me and walked to the truck that I had moved and parked. I am not sure that using the app was more convenient.

KENNETH DI have tried the U-Box thing twice and will not do it again. There has been so many problems that I feel that U-Haul is better off not offering this product/service. Everything is so "compartmentalized" and every person that I have spoken with when things are not as expected or promised, does not know what the other parts of the move are doing. When the moving contractors and the locations are all independent contractors, and the company has actually divided ( the responsibilities ) in to Uhaul and moving help, I have found that nobody is responsible and nobody knows how to fix a problem.

The one I generally use did not have any, so he offered me another choice. I wanted a location closer to home and we settled on this one. However, I received several test messages, each one at a different location!! I went with the last one. When I arrived, they did NOT have a 4x8 trailer and tried to send me to another location; which was the one I originally wanted!! After some discussion, I was finally offered a 5x8 enclosed at the 4x8 price. I settled for it:although it was too big for my needs, but I was under time restraints.

So I went back to the office n the super friendly older gentleman didn’t hesitate to offer me another option. Handle that .. but all 3 individuals whom I encountered were super helpful seemed to be a huge clerical error that should of never happened.but I’m would not recommend because I had to find a place for items that couldn’t fit .

JEAN S | First ImpressionsI am giving a 3/5 star, average rating because the experience was incredibly simple and the location and facility are decent. If I hadn't asked for directions to access the gate to the facility then I wouldn't have had to interact with anyone who worked there and that is very convenient indeed. However, this survey does not include the question of satisfaction with the price. I'm renting a climate controlled 5x5 space which average cost (including climate controlled) is $44 and I am paying $65. That is a price increase of very near 50%. The directions to the facility are adequate but could be improved by stating which direction the facility map is facing. The facility map is laid out north/south, while the physical location stretches east/west. A simple fix would be a north orientation arrow on the facility map or orient the map in landscape instead of portrait. The location was easy to find, and the access to the gate can be found by doing a little searching. There appear to be no signs or directions on how to get to the gate once on property and the vehicle rental and rental return building are up front blocking the view of the storage area. It took me an extra minute to find. A minor inconvenience and now that I know it will be easy to access. I'd recommend using this Uhaul storage location for a short term but not long term time period as the extra $20 per month adds up. After a year's rent (plus taxes and fees) that is $840 vs the average price (+taxes/fees) of $600.
William S | Online Move InThe move in experience was great but since then there was an incident that I feel needs addressing. I went to my unit on Sunday 5/23/21. I realized I had forgotten my passcode so I went up the office for assistance. As soon as I walked inside, BOTH of the employees behind the counter suddenly ran for the back door. When I asked where they were going I was told that another customer outside needed the keys for propane. I thought it very strange that it required two employees to do this. After I waited a few minutes one of the young ladies came back in and I explained that I had forgotten my passcode. She asked me my name, looked up my account, and then gave me the passcode. I didn't really think about it until I got outside but she never even asked for my ID or anything. She just asked me my name and gave me the passcode. Then when we went to enter the facility the gate was already open and the door to my building just opened without the passcode at all. Today 5/24/21 I went back again and it was the same story... the gate was wide open and the door to the building was just unlocked. I'm not sure if the whole "idea" of a passcode is just to make us feel like this facility is secure or if it's even necessary at all.
