DAVID LThe new policy of giving the phone number of 2 contacts is a bad decision. I’ll find somewhere else to rent. I don’t want to give a business the phone number of two of my friends. I don’t was 2 of my friends interrupted by a personal phone call at work. There is very little parking available.
LAURA RNothing. Staff was great. The person who checked me out hooked up the trailer and leant me an electrical adapter to make the lights on the trailer compatible with my vehicle. He was quick and efficient and friendly. Upon returning, I never even had to go inside, as I was met outside by a different employee who disconnected and moved the trailer out of the way. I was out in under 5 minutes.

RICHARD W3 Issues... 1) The attendant told me the gas tank was a little over a quarter. When I got in, it was less than a quarter. And speaking of gas, don't give a customer a truck with so little gas that the gas light comes on before he even reaches his destination. That's annoying. 2) Your attendant didn't bother to come out and do a walk around with me and never said anything about a text I would get asking me to verify the condition of the truck. I never noticed the text until after I already left and got home. 3) It was never made clear to me that you would charge me a bullshit fee of $20 if I returned the truck after hours. The attendant never mentioned it, and I even asked about how to return after hours, which would have been a perfect time to say "hey, by the way, if you do return it after hours we're going to charge you $20 for no good reason other than the fact that we're greedy and will milk you for every dollar we can". That would have been a nice heads up, but no worries, it just cost you a future customer that's all. This was overall a pretty poor experience with your company, and the next time I need to rent a truck, I will actively go out of my way to use anyone other than U-Haul.

DAVID LI reserved the 10' trailer. I asked the sales associate that I needed an appliance dolly to move a washer and dryer. When I arrived to the location, I realized there wasn't a ramp to dolly up the appliances. This was not disclosed when I mentioned having to transport the washer and dryer. So I left it behind, and will retrieve at later date. Upon transporting the trailer to my destination and unloading, I was unable to start the vehicle. A passer by assisted with jumping the trailer. This morning I was unable to start, and given the timeframe I had to move, I didn't wait on roadside assistance. I had to jump the vehicle a 3rd time to make my return time before closing.
DAVID ENot much the staff was knowledgeable and friendly . Manager was training another staff member manager had lots of patients and willing to show his knowledge to staff. 💯👌🏽.

There were many trucks easily accessible, however the truck that I was assigned requiring me to manually lift the tongue of a trailer and pull it forward and then navigate between a pole and a locked trailer which only provided a total of 5 inches of clearance on sides.

Monte D | Overall ExperienceThe UHaul of Poway is an outstanding location with whom to do business. I recently rented an outside storage unit for 3 months and previously rented a small inside space. I’ve also rented an open top trailer to use locally. The General Manager is a hardworking guy who manages a team of good workers. All of them were good to deal with. The only downsize to this location is the cramped size, but there’s nothing that can be done about it as the location is land locked.

ANDRE BI was told the unit was a pull-up unit which was not accurate. They were not traditional storage units which was not conveyed to me by the person over the phone. When I got there the aisle was too narrow to pull up and the entire yard was extremely tight quarters. The truck itself we t fine, but there was only one guy working the desk and he was busy with someone else when I was done with the unit and turned in my truck. I did not have time to wait so I told him the unit is clear and clean and the truck is too with the blankets folded for him. I asked him if there was anything else I needed and he said no he will take care of it. Two days ago I got a phone call from U-Haul asking me about my unit because they had just charged me nearly $200 for the unit I had been in. When I told them that I had arrived on the 10th of October and vacated on the 30th, they said I “may” get a refund for a unit was had nothing and was not using and had told the guy I was cleared out of. I not have a lot of money and the $200 was most of what I had left after making my move.

SEMAGE PI rent from this location twice a year and never had complaints. But the last rental, the van was filthy. I had to sweep the dirt out of the cargo hold and couldn’t see well through the windshield. The attendant only handed me the key and had me look for the van, which was parked all the way in the back of the lot. The bottom line is last experience was not very pleasant. The person in charge that day was not very helpful and acted like he didn’t want to be there.
HONORATO VNo offense but the lobby smells like a bunch of farts and craps. The bathroom next to the front desk needs to be aired out, have you ever considered adding an air freshener or something to reduce the foul smell? Or hiring a woman to help freshen things up? You probably don't mind it but customers may notice and I did because it didn't smell like farts a few months ago or last year. Gross....

It had a rat trap placed inside our unit when we did not know, and rat feces was seen throughout. And then when I told the staff they said, " Yeah That's why were raising the rates to get new containers. We immediately cleared out our unit and were told there was no proration even though we just paid the rent.

No issues except we couldn't get help getting the lock off because it had rusted and in trying to get it off, the key broke in the lock. We had one other issue; tried to get into storage unit - called and were told we could access up until a certain time; we arrived with a moving van and were not able to access. It was an outside unit but area was blocked.

Then we were charged additional mileage on our truck rental when we had to relocate to another facility. I had originally booked a first floor (larger) unit and they tried to assign me a second floor smaller unit with no elevator/lift to move my belongings. They did not tell me it was a second floor until the guy walked me back. I had called the number listed under my reservation for Poway to confirm the day before. When I asked why they didn’t have my reservation the guy told me that I should have called his location directly. I called the number listed in my confirmation email under Poway!!!! It was a very frustrating situation to deal with in the rain and then to get an additional charge for mileage after having to scramble for another location to was not ideal! I would not recommend the Poway location! Nobody there was helpful or easy to deal with.

On my moving out day Everything appeared to be fine except when my daughter found mouse droppings on my plastic tubs and on the floor of the unit. How long did this mouse live there before someone put a mouse trap in the unit? The worse thing is that the dead mouse is in one of my boxes! I took a picture of it if you need proof. I called the health department on my experience with your storage unit. It was documented. Since you have so many units why aren’t the mouse traps or mouse poison checked on a regular basis? I have rented units for years and this has NEVER happened before. I have to throw out some items because I don’t know how long the mouse lived in my unit. The unit should be prorated for July and I should receive a refund for the days that I did not use it. I am just glad I moved out my things when I did. I am very disappointed with the experience that your establishment provided and I will pass on my experience to others.
MARIA A | Overall ExperienceI made an online reservation for a 7x20x6 Vanbody, but when I arrived to the storage facility, the manager said that he could not find my reservation in the system. He showed me a much smaller 7x14 unit and said that was all he had or I could try searching for a self-storage facility in the area. I drove all the way from Maryland only to be told “good luck”. In the end, the manager was able to rent me a 7x26 storage unit only because a reservation was canceled at the last minute. I had the whole move and storage planned weeks in advance and am frustrated with the nonchalant response of the manager. I also want to know why my reservation did not show up in the system even though I received an email confirmation.

Also it would be a bit more convenient since it is key code entry to have the hours be 24/7 for storage units. There’s cameras for security so I don’t see why not

I can't say good enough things about how awesome Toby is, and I really appreciate his willingness to listen to my problems, willingness to proactively solve my issues, and empathy.
