The associate on duty was annoyed that I was late for pickup and interrupted ‘his match’. I was watched several minutes as he was distracted by his phone. I did not appear to be a valued customer.

The truck was dirty on the inside floor
DEANDRE WThis location is convenient to campus but hard to get in/get out. The staff is fairly friendly but does not move from behind the desk. My biggest complaint about UHAUL at this time is all the extra charges tacked on at the end. And, I think it is a bit of false advertising to market a truck for $19.95/day, plus mileage, plus handling charge, plus fuel! I rented a pick up truck for exactly 3 days and it was $400, I averaged 140 miles a day. Although I need one for business every now and then - time to find another company.
CYNTHIA LIt was great experience in the beginning. Upon the return of the vehicle is where the problem arose. Don't believe them if they say aren't gonna charge you for an extra day, if you get it there before a certain time.
MIAH AEquipment could’ve been cleaner honesty. Looks like it hadn’t been swept in awhile or anything like that. Regardless though, went well and was easy. Thanks yall!!

DAVID SOn September 28, 2025, I arrived at College Station U-Haul facility to return the trailer I rented. Upon arrival I walked into the store and was greeted by a young man named Steven. At that moment I noticed two male associates laughing in the background, I felt it was directed at me when i walked in. I followed Steven outside. Steven unhooked the trailer. I asked him if he was going to check for any damages and see the inside. He replied, “oh yeah. When that was completed, I asked if I must go back in the store to sign paperwork and pay, He said no everything is good, and I can leave. About ten minutes later, I was driving my son gets a call from U-Haul, asking for me. He replied, “My mom is driving, can I take a message?” Caller asked, “Is that her in the background?” My son said, “Yes.” Caller said, “It’s that mother? let me speak to her.” My son puts his cell on speaker. I spoke and said “hello?” In a furious voice that my credit card declined, and if I don't pay that I will not be able to rent from any U-Haul. Before I could reply he abruptly, hung up the phone, cutting me off. Upon returning, I approached the counter and asked to speak to a manager. The person said, “I am the manager.” I told him how rude he was extremely rude on the phone, and I did not appreciate the way he hung up on me. From there the situation escalated. He got loud and I got loud. I told him I called Capital One and my credit card is good and that he must have placed the card number in wrong. He called me a deadbeat, and I exploded into profanity. He refused to run my credit card again and told me to leave and pay online. I told him if i was a young white blond lady that I would not be treated like this. He said “if you don’t leave I'm calling 911. He continued to call 911 and when he did he gave me a repulsive look and asked, “will aren't you going to leave?” I said “no”. When the 911 dispatcher he described me as a deadbeat Mexican woman. I was infuriated. I am a 61 year old Native American woman. I called him a racist. At this point we both were yelling at the dispatcher. I needed to use the restroom and walked away. When I finished, I directly walked out while hearing Mr. Orlando Yanez describing my car to the dispatcher. I told my son what happened inside. He was outraged. So I continue to pull out of the parking lot. As I am a short way down the street I was pulled over by a police car. Officer Fidel Solis, Jr., I.D. # 1584 approached me and asked me for my license. Officer Solis, Jr., wanted to know what happened in the U-Haul store. I gave him my story. Officer Solis, Jr., was nice and said “Well Mr. Yanez want me to issue a CRIMINAL TRESPASS WARNING #1544901. Officer Solis, Jr., continued to inform me if I step on the property I will be arrested. I was stunned. During the rental we did attend a 4-day Native American funeral for my aunt and experienced car troubles. When the associated called the first time I did forget about the 5 days being up due to grieving. The funeral was personal and only mentioned car problems. Then time was up again and this time the associate called my son since I was unable to answer my phone. My son told the associate that we are at a funeral. The associate asked my son if we were lying and making stuff up. He told my son that I said car trouble and now it’s a funeral. I was appalled at that statement. This is first time in my 61yrs that this abysmal event with Mr. Orlando Yanez has happened to me. I will advise all family and friends that racism and ageism is practiced here and to avoid this U-Haul on 501 Texas Ave, College Station, TX. E Sandoval Conract #91569511

VANESSA MToo many glitches in your online check in and out. I did the reservation 3 times and couldn’t make the right choices without it locking up. Had to do the steps at the counter in which I told her I couldn’t return the trailer in the time set. She said just call the store then when you will return. The person that answered the phone when I called for the late return, was extremely rude and treated me like I was trying to steal the trailer or something. WTH! Checking out after hours on the app wouldn’t work and had to call again for someone to manually walk me through the process. I’ve rented many times over the years. Think I’ll find another vendor.

This is not the behavior I expected from U-Haul. Now I have to think again about using or recommending U-Haul again. Also, I could not get a parking spot there or in the nearby area to park my vehicle, which was surprising as there were a lot of empty spots there.. Therefore, I needed to go back home and booked an Uber to come here.

SEAN SPlace was a dump, dirty and trash everywhere, inside and out. On the flip side the person helping was very helpful and friendly.
Orlando CIt was my first time renting it and one of the staff helped me a lot. The vehicle was in good condition, clean and works smoothly. One issue I faced is the lock at the rear of the vehicle. They have a lock to lock the shutter, but they don't have the key. I was not informed that I should not be using it. But the movers thought I had a key and locked it. Then I had to go to U-haul again to break the lock and it was a headache. That is the only issue I faced due to either lack of communication or because I am a newbie. Other it is a great location to rent.

MICHAEL SThe location was fine, it’s the overbooking of trucks that is really irritating. I went in to pick up a truck & they said the system had overbooked the number of trucks. Thankfully I negotiated for a truck if I brought it back sooner, but it took longer to pick up. The men working there were polite & helpful despite the situation though, I don’t think the shortage of trucks was their fault.
MARIE KIt was an easy pick up and easy drop off. Everyone was friendly and courteous.
David SThere was an assistant manager (I think) that was courteous and helpful when returning the equipment. I forgot to get his name unfortunately. By contrast, there was also a kid named Steven with whom I interacted on the front end. He would do well to learn some respect to improve the customer experience. Overall, the equipment checkout and return processes went smoothly.
CALE YHave dolly & furniture dolly on hand. I rented online and requested a dolly truck & 2 furniture dollies but was told on site that they didn’t have any unless I wanted to buy the store ones that were for sale. Why didn’t the store just buy the Dollie’s & then let me rent them. Caused harder moving than had too since I had thought I was getting them.
Lee EStaff was friendly and nice. But van was smelling like Horace fecal cr@:p. It just take $5 odor eliminator which binds with odor molecules and eliminate all the odor. But they don’t do that and now freaking all my cloths and every household item smell like cr@:p. I tried to neutralize it myself by buying that kit but before that I was already smelling like horse sh!t. Even that lingering smell couldn’t go away. May be an overnight treatment could get rid of that. I wasn’t having that much time. Neither I had choice since that was the last 1990s van available in 50 miles. I wish it could be smell free and clean at least. They can get their own vehicle wash set up while they have so many vehicles.

ROBERTO CGot bailed out when the truck I'd reserved at another location wasn't available and the rep at that site (Avid Storage in Bryan) was COMPLETELY unhelpful. Thankfully, U-Hual customer service found one at this location. While there, I overheard them actually helping a couple whose reserved truck wasn't there. Won't use another location in this area now!
JEFFREY SI reserved a van for 10 hours on a Saturday from 8am-6pm. Unfortunately i had some travel delays and was unable to get to the Uhaul to pick it up at 8. They called me at 930 and told me they were about to give away my van because I wasn’t there to pick it up. I said I still wanted it and was just unable to be there at 8 due to travel delays. He asked me when I could arrive. I said I would be there at 10 and was then told I could only have the van until 5 pm. This makes no sense to me — that I can not have it for the time I reserved it and he said “that’s a common misconception”. I thought he was rude and it clearly didn’t make sense why I couldn’t have the van until 6 even though I was picking it up later than I had said. I don’t think I’ll use this haul again. There are other options in town.
ALLISON GImprove the customer service and the communication at both pick up and drop off locations. Moving is already stressful, this service could have made it a bit easier.
