NEMATULLAH M | First ImpressionsThe exterior of the van was very dirty with dead bugs everywhere and large dark handprints on the rear doors and passenger side. An instruction on my phone directed me to photograph any damage I saw and submit them on the given form. As I struggled to do that an employee suggested I simply document the damage on my phone and save the photos because the U-Haul system wasn't working. I was told that the gas tank was full when I picked up the van and that I was required to return it full. After driving less that 36 miles I put 4.7 gallons of gas in the van. That's an average of 7.6 miles to the gallon. I was shocked at such poor mileage as the load I carried was nowhere near the weight limit of the van. I sat in the van in the designated vehicle return spot for at least 20 minutes before the very nice employee arrived to check-in the van.
WILLIAM DI've done this twice with Renton, and both times it was a very bad experience. The first time, my tire went flat, and they never came to fix it. I paid out of my own pocket, and they didn't even thank me. The second time, I returned the trailer, and they told me it was stolen. How can I trust them with something like this if they don't keep track of their equipment and employees who don't include the return information on their list? If you return your vehicle to other customers, ask for their names and a receipt, because they don't have to admit they ripped it off.

JORDAN P | Overall ExperienceThe rental I originally reserved was not available so i was given a 10ft instead of a 15ft truck. When i picked up the 10ft truck it was empty, I spent 120 dollars to fill the tank but it was leaking. I lost half a tank wuth 20 minutes of driving so I returned it and had to get a new truck. This set me back and I wasnt able to finish moving that same day. I also couldnt fit everything into the smaller truck that I was given. Not sure why the website let me reserve a 15ft truck when there were none available. Of the 120 dollars I spent, they gave me a truck that was halfway full and told me I would get a 60 dollar credit within a week. I feel I should have at least gotten an additional discount for the repeated inconveniences. I will not be returning.

HENRY IBuilding looked clean but after I moved out and before I got my things into my shed I noticed two issues. First one my site fryer was purposely left out of my boxes cause I wanted to be able to have access to that first. I found that my cord had been almost completely chewed through. Second going through some of my boxes luckily before bringing any into the house I found a couple cockroaches. When I called and spoke to the manager Cory he seemed shocked and didn’t really apologize or acknowledge he was going to go anything about it. Very disappointing that he would even act like he would work on the rodent/bug problem.

Pedro O | Overall ExperienceI called and setup boxes for a domestic abuse victim several days before and told view email they would be ready after 12pm on the day and the woman gets there and told everyone went home and they can't help her and the person who setup the boxes was new and should have told us to setup 24 hours in advance as there's no mention of it in any invoice we received. My friend was an emotional wreck after going through domestic abuse and I felt to blame! I had to talk to corporate to get SOME resolution and was told they only had two hours to move stuff in, not we'll stay because it's our fault. They barely made the timeframe but you set a bad example and I personally never want to use you again after this and I plan on using social media to let them know how you handle domestic abuse situations. Next time do better!
Kim HI had to call U-Haul way too many times to coordinate the pick up delivery of my 6, U-boxes, mainly dealing with the local scheduling coordinators trying to reschedule my pickup and delivery dates because their driver was sick and or their driver was tired and needed a day off. NOT MY PROBLEM. This is very unprofessional. I don't think I would recommend using U-Box to my friends. I've had a much better professional experience with PODS. The U-Boxes are just too small!

The young lady pulled in another associate which took even longer. The truck had a dent init the inside was dirty. All bad. I’ll go to U-Haul and pay 19 for 24 hours and .79 mile.
SHARI Nalthough the rental office was short staffed when I arrived to pick up my trailer reservation, the lady clerk was helpful and patient with the few men who were getting a bit upset. But the manager shortly arrived back and the both of them were able to quickly clear the back-up. They were pleasant and friendly. the equipment seemed to be in good working order. I would definitely go to this location again
DEEANA MU-Haul overall exceeded my expectations by far. My only complaint is that I requested my supplies be in the pod and I was told by numerous people that they would not be in the pod but that I had to pick them up. Upon picking them up, they never found a record of supplies I purchased. When the pods were delivered the items were in the pod. I ended up purchasing a second set of supplies because of being told they would not be in the pod and they had no idea about my order. Better communication between the box people and the stores is needed.

MICHELLE HDrop off/pick up in Sacramento was seamless. When the boxes were dropped off in Delaware the driver got the forklift stuck in my new yard & had to wait for someone to come pull her out because the tire was dug so far into the dirt digging up the fresh grass seedlings that were planted. Now I will have spots in multiple places from her driving across my yard. She then placed my last box facing the opposite direction so I had to unload it over the mud. I’m very disappointed. The driver who picked up the boxes was almost an hour late from my appointment time. The difference from experience I had in California to Delaware is very alarming.

We were given an extra 2 days which we did not end up using returning the vehicle in 1/8/2025. On 1/11/2025 we received a collection notice for another $46.00. Stay on top of documents/monies due and monies paid.

LUCIA NI ordered my equipment do 65th st pickup. Uhaul called me the day before to say my truck was at this Arden location and my car transport trailer was at a different location. I show up at this Arden location to get my truck. Then I drove to the other location to pick up my auto transport. They say they don’t have it and it’s actually at the Arden location and I had to drive back to get it. I am very disappointed in the communication, planning, and customer support. I wasted three hours waiting in line and driving around to track down my equipment. Based on this, I would recommend everyone avoid uhaul.

AARON CThis was a nightmare rental for me. First of all my original truck was supposed to be in Elk Grove and I went to pick it up the keys were not able to be located . The sense it was after hours you all sent me to the Arden location which is over 20 miles away so I ended up spending an additional hour getting there and getting my truck it was also a huge inconvenience for me to drop it off and have a family member meet me there and drive me back home to Elk Grove

I checked out of rental property based on time window originally provided and ended up waiting in street for 3 hours for truck to arrive.

CURTIS LOne of my UBoxes had mold growing on the wood and subsequently my items became moldy during transit. The source of the mold was clearly coming from the UBox itself when I lifted the paper that was on top of the bottom of the crate. The mold has completely ruined 2 of my items and I have filed a claim with the insurance provider. I would not use UHaul again for a move, this is unacceptable.
Allison TFacility has a good location, easy to access. Storage areas are clean well-lit and have clean bathrooms. The new system of cart checkout was great and ensured carts were handy and available. Staff was always friendly and helpful when needed. Corey helped me out with accessing unit once which I appreciated. Overall, a good experience, would recommend.

When we informed the manager he did the least to help us by simply filling out a report and sending it in. He got very defensive when we started to ask questions about why not cameras saw the breaking take place. In the office it says that cameras are seeing each storage unit.No follow up with us to see how things are going and then a refusal by the insurance company to reimburse us for our losses. I will never use U-haul storage again and tell people to stay away from you because you don't care.

As much time as they have to leave notices on every body’s storage unit reminding them their late They need to do something about the door not opening up

However when I used it and created a profile, it started charging me for a service I did not request. It appeared entirely unrelated to uhaul so idk why it was there. This is not related to any other aspect of my experience, however this snafu did cost me quite a bit of money over time, as it has been charging me approx. $40 monthly and I'm still trying to straighten that out, so approximately 6 months give or take that's been happening.

My request to move out was 10 days after I paid the full rate and I was offered zero money back. It's already $175 a month for rent and now you want to keep 2/3rds of my money? Why give you my business at all? Uhaul has definitely gone downhill over the years. At least give me back the money for days I'm not using the storage unit.

If I ran the place I would do everything to help my customers didn't phase him a bit and the girl that works there had to different reasons why they put a lock on it first she said it was open then she said my payment was denied that was not true cause I paid vet. 600.00 on the 5th they bill on the 1st. They never notified me at all they have my number and email if It was open I know it was locked my lock was still on it. there was some kind of Slim Jim up the side of the wall when she removed the lock she pull it out. Don't let the card sliding and alarm setting fool you. I believe It was an inside job I know it was.

Raymond M | Overall ExperienceThe reason I said no because the town in town trucks are okay but the storage rates compared to anyone else's storages are too high in the storages are too small they said that if you have a 2-3 bedroom home that your things will fit in there so instead of me picking a two-bedroom apartment or three bedroom apartment I picked up two or three bedroom home and my things still didn't fit in there and all you guys kept doing was giving me more high and high prices so I have to move out before my 30 days are up because I can't afford that but I see much more affordable places you guys are most popular but your prices are so high for storaging your items thank you very much have a blessed day

David M | Overall ExperienceThat facility is rough. The drive up doors worked for maybe a week then stopped. The facility is always dirty, people are using the restrooms as showers. The part we were in was supposed to be climate controlled but it was always warm on that side of the facility. Someone is growing marijuana in there. The parking lot is awful. There is only one way in and it is also the only way out, very narrow due to the uhaul box trucks parked in that space. If someone pulls up with a truck you are stuck in the parking spots.

They seem indifferent. Put $10.00 worth of gas in the truck and return it showing 11 miles to empty. Turned in the keys and again reminded the staff that the truck had been received empty. They commented that the receipt would be corrected. It wasn't. Now I have to go back over to the center and straighten out the bill.

They turned on with the sensor, as I walked by, and stayed lit for very few minutes, I had to rely on sunlight to see anything. Victor and hi staff are THE BEST, can't sing his praises enough.
Renee L | Overall ExperienceAs this location has a new GSM I did not want to rate it as a poor maintenance or cleanliness because he hasn't had an opportunity to make improvements. I currently have five units at this location and in the last 4 months the maintenance has become very lackluster there is garbage everywhere that is not getting picked up for weeks the loading bays are not kept clean as they should be as well as the carts and currently there is a horrific smell near the bathrooms that smells of dead animal and is very disconcerting. An example of the garbage is a half eaten burrito left near my storage unit was there on one Saturday when we came back on Sunday it was still there and we picked it up and set it in the store loading Bay because there was no garbage to place it in. It was still there on Tuesday. I'm not sure why there are empty food containers and remnants of food all over the aisles but that most certainly won't deter rats.

There was glass, nails, metal clips, screws, all types of foreign objects everywhere and twice Ive had flat tires after leaving this facility and the repairman has pulled chunks of glass and a screw bolt out of my tires. Several occasions I told the staff they should fix this problem. I can only imagine people who rent your trucks having FLAT TIRE issues on the road because of negligence at this facility. This is why I wouldn't recommend to anyone. You shouldn't have to pay for storage and damage to your vehicles too. Also two increases in less than a year was concerning especially when told that you're keeping up with your competitors pricing. Well it didn't take long to find multiple storage units facilities with much lower prices and clean grounds. I know GREED is the MAIN culprit in the world we live in. Goodbye

They even showed me on their map where the location would be. I got there Sunday morning with a moving truck and staff to unload the truck and went to the office to set up everything. I was then told they didn't have my unit. They had rented it to someone else. So here I have everything with me, and they don't have a space for me. I had to have the movers jam everything into a 10X10 unit. The stupid thing on the U-Haul staff's part is that they had my paperwork along with my credit card on file there, there was a reason I went by days earlier to make sure everything would be ready, and it wasn't. Total incompetence by the whole U-haul staff who didn't seem to care. With movers it was a cost to me of just short of $700 and to not have what I asked for not available was horrible on their part. All in all they are very sure to collect my money without any problem. The stupid thing is that I went to give them my credit card and she told me she didn't need it because she had it on FILE!!! Horrible service. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

The employees are gave great customer service but the manager is lacking that Personal Touch.

I think that the customer that rent earlier than later should get the better choice of unit location, not the opposite. Otherwise, I was very happy with my 9 months worth of storage and the staff was very professional.

After getting the unit and learning the intricate entry system, I learned that all i had to do was swipe my card, which i was NOT given at the time i signed the lease, better communication and customer service could be implemented at this location, or perhaps Kaylah just needs more help.

I am so pleased and comfortable knowing my things are safe and secure within the Arden Way Uhaul storage facility. While I was moving my things in at the facility, at least 3 or 4 times, somebody would set off the very loud, very painful to hear Siren Alarm that is set off any time a unit door is opened without having had the individual passcode that each unit lessee is given when you initially lease a unit there. It made me realize how secure the units are there. I've had my storage locker burglarized at 2 other storage facilities in the very recent past and now that I'm with uhaul, I feel safe and secure and that's worth every penny....

I had to go after work, so we got there right before closing and we only got a map of the storage facility. We needed a larger storage space which was not available, so we had to get a second storage space but with no discount. The unit numbers don’t seem to be in order, and when we took our things into storage we couldn’t find the unit and ended up spending a half hour looking for it. This was very confusing at first. We ended up having to pay the movers an additional hour. Very friendly staff and clean place.

When I confronted him he indicated he was in the line earlier and stated since he was in the "the store" he was untitled to get back in line although he was shopping. Jessica the cashier did and said nothing, but she rang him up.
Alenki J | Overall ExperienceI rented a unit at this location for less than one month of being there and left because of the manager Kaylah Ealy. Upon moving in on June 11th I asked employees on site if I could park in a specific spot in the parking lot near storage units. I was told it was okay as long as we had a unit on the property so my fiancé Sarah and I started parking there regularly on our visits. Everything was fine until June 22 around 8 AM when an incident occurred with Kaylah. Sarah and I pulled into the usual spot we were at and Kaylah came rushing up to us as soon as we left our vehicle and started pressing us very rudely about how “we can’t park there!” and “I’m the manager!”. We calmly tried to explain we asked if we could park there when we moved in and the staff said “yes”. We’ve also seen other people parking their cars in that area on occasion and it’s part of the property so we thought it was okay to be there. Kaylah just kept spouting off about how she’s the manager and demanded to know why we were parking there. We tried to explain we just got that new storage unit and can’t park up front because Sarah is in danger being pursued by a violent stalker. We explained the limited parking up front puts her car in direct public view and if her stalker sees that he will try to physically harm her. We told her we had to leave our last facility because of escalated violence towards Sarah and property damage to our last rental facility unit. Kaylah condescendingly said “uhhhh sorry, whatever you’re going through but you can’t park here!”. It was obvious Kaylah wasn’t mentally stable, she was aggressive, was being super petty about parking, and completely disregarded our unique circumstances and Sarah’s safety. Kaylah was more concerned about being correct and attempting to assert her dominance over us instead of being a professional, level headed, and understanding person. She refused to make a very reasonable exception for parking and has zero concern for people’s safety on the property. We tried to peacefully work things out and be rationale while Kaylah just disrespected us unprofessionally. Since Kaylah insisted on putting Sarah in harms way and refused to cooperate, we made arrangements immediately to leave the facility . We didn’t return to storage again until moving day to avoid further harassment from Kaylah as a precaution. We wanted to report her sooner but waited until after moving day to report her out of concerns she may try to retaliate against us for whistleblowing on her. The experience at this facility was highly unpleasant and we left because of Kaylah. The restrooms on the property weren’t being cleaned regularly causing a problem, but we overlooked it until we were poorly treated by management. The other staff made minor mistakes like giving us a storage unit under another persons name on move in day, but were otherwise decent people. Kaylah is the only one I’m concerned about and couldn’t stay at the facility knowing the manager is careless and reckless in her behavior. I actually tell people not to go to that facility and go somewhere else because of Kaylah. We tried to work it out with her but Kaylah didn’t have the mental capacity to do so and we expect management to hold mature conversations without being aggressive and rude.

Makeyyaa T | First ImpressionsI initially reserved a 5'x8' storage unit specifically so it would fit a 7' couch. Upon arrival, I was given a unit that was 5'x6'-6" and could not fit my couch. I had to explain to the staff that I was given a smaller unit than I had reserved and needed a larger one. He tried to charge me more but eventually gave me a unit at the price I was quoted. Throughout my time at the storage unit there were homeless people living in units, trash in the garage bays, and overall I was just uncomfortable there. I moved out after one month because I didn't want to have to pay to keep my belongings in this facility.

We walked to see the unit and I was given a lock for it. All set for moving on moving day. The price is good for the security and convenience. Thank you so much to the staff there.
JEFFREY W | First ImpressionsNo roof above unit, which allowed rats and bugs to get it, rat trap inside 10 x10 storage unit, bad oder, facility itself was an old dingy dirty old building, it used to be a bread making facility which brought bugs and rats, Lights didn't stay on, air conditioning was non existent, because the ceilings were wide open to old roof of the old building, air conditioning just escaped out, water stains inside the unit, we canceled our agreement with uhaul in less than thirty minutes of moving our belongings in, had to move all our stuff out and re load our truck, the uhaul tape i bought is the cheapest grade of tape, wish I could return it and buy some scotch or 3m packing tape, Extremely disappointed in uhaul Had high hopes,, but it was short lived

Everything is great @ uhaul...i should have known.! Kind, friendly, helpful staff, great drive-up access & good accessibility hours. I feel like my belongings are safe...alarm @ entrance, etc. Had uhaul offered 24 hr access, i would have rated it excellent.!

Took over 30 minutes while my per hour uHaul movers waited outside. Then couldn’t get the access card to work. New facility so the overhead doors didn’t work. It was about a bad experience as I have ever had. I am a person that has used uHaul to move across the country several times. The last time this month with a two unboxes.

Now It took forever because U-hauls computers weren't excepting the input. The other problem is the price on line along with availability was dead wrong! Then asking me to drive 200miles to pick up the trailer was Not ok. Also Not telling me there is One way trailers and "local trailers" was quite the surprise Also ... Then A large one way costing 50.00 less than on line or 1800 u haul quote on line.. I expect better

Aaron B | First ImpressionsThe young woman who assisted me was not only professional but she was extremely accommodating and thanks to her customer service abilities I will be renting an additional unit and extending my rentals longer than I had planned previously.if I had a business I definitely would recommend to my HR department to hire that young woman as my manager immediately because in my opinion she lacked nothing and took care of an intire line of people very professionally in spite of a few growing impatient and irritable. She handled that with Grace and precision and that makes for one dang good employee excuse my French.

Tried calling the Arden location 3 times and sat on hold for about 10 minutes each time with no answer. Upon returning the truck the staff made a comment about not letting them know about extending the rental for another day. I tried calling 3 times so try and answer your phones.
