Steven OApril did an amazing job. Came in to open the store up right after noticing her employee was a no show. She was thorough with the explanation and got right to work upon her arrival. I have had to use other locations in the past because of the need for a pick up truck. It is out of their control with the lack of space to provide a larger fleet, but regardless this is my closest location and I always check here first due to the great customer service I get.

Walked me thru mileage and fuel level. Unaware of text message expiration to note condition of vehicle. Rep did not mention text message verification. Returned vehicle around 12:30 same day. Found note on door that location closed for the day. Noted contract mileage was incorrect and left a note regarding same. Clicked link provided but it expired. Nothing in the contract to my knowledge states the text would expire. Could not update condition of vehicle. Used vehicle for 15 miles. Charged nearly 80 miles. Vehicle had strong weed smell in the cabin. Talked to location personnel over phone on 8/20/2024. They were very defensive, argumentative and down right rude. Escalated to U-Haul customer service and received incident 4937357. Customer service was very helpful. Asking for reconsideration of total amount charged. Thank you.

ANDREW OMaintaining your truck to be safe to drive is of utmost importance. The truck that was assigned to me was in extremely poor condition and unsafe to drive. We will never rent from here again. Expressed my concern to your salesman and felt my concerns fell on deaf ears.

MICHAEL MParis, the receptionist at this location was excellent and super helpful. The location was actually very inconvenient and was not our first choice. We were moved to this location by the logistics person who told us the day before pick up that our location and truck needs were unavailable. We had placed an order for a 10ft truck in Creve Coeur and had to pick up a 20ft truck in Ballwin. When we picked up the truck it did have garbage in it from previous customer. For these reasons I would not recommend U-Haul.

There was NO mention of an additional charge based on the return time, which was apparently after hours. I think that should have been mentioned at that time, not AFTER the fact. That was frustrating and a little deceptive, in my opinion. Otherwise, all went well.

April Maguire is pleasant and good at her job. The woman I recently signed the Abandonment Letter with was also very nice and helpful. I have always rented U-Haul Trucks from the location on Manchester in Ballwin, but will try the Big Bend location in the future. I do have to say that the monthly cost for the unit seemed to increase very quickly in recent years. The recent annual % increases seemed very high…more than 10%. But again I’ve been pleased w the facility and service. Thank you.

I was renting from U Haul for seven years since they took it over and before that it was owned by two other companies so I was a LONG time customer and always paid on time.... 2 price increases in one year was ridiculous. Therefore I would not recommend UHaul.... we downsized at another location because the smallest unit was too small and we knew the price would jump in no time.

Every time i arrived big trucks would be parked right by the exit gate keypad blocking your access making it difficult to get to the keypad from your car and leave. It would be nice to pull up to it on the right side of the road like the way traffic goes so your not trying to reposition your vehicle on the way in or out when others are also entering and exiting the property.

The storage facility was amazing , we had both an interior smaller storage and a larger exterior storage to hold our household goods ( even our irreplaceable photos & negatives) between the two. We felt safe there after hours and at night when storing or removing items with the security system abs lighting set up! We highly recommend this place if you need to store your safekeeping items.

Eventually I got a unit. Only to finish and find out I needed a lock. She didn’t state or mention it. Worst part I was in a domestic situation on the lot, cameras are there. No one intervened or called the police. I had to call the police! It was semi the worst experience ever! 😪

ELMER P | Overall ExperienceI booked online, and never actually had any contact with any employees at the facility, but the online checkin and checkout was very easy. The facility was very clean. My only complaint is the large road reflectors on the floor right inside the door to indicate where to park the carts. This makes it very hard to go in and out the doors with a loaded cart. Several times, a cart wheel hit a reflector and caused things to fall off the cart. A painted yellow line or tape on the floor would suffice and not cause any problems.

Thanks to Uhall’s staff, from Springfield, IL to Ballwin, MO, for making a rough move all the more manageable.

My only issue was with the elevator. It closed almost immediately, and was constantly closing on me as I loaded stuff in on the carts.

And after finding out that the 2nd unit that I was supposedly going to get Was occupied I was told they had no other units available in that size. Even though I had gone in several weeks earlier asked for a specific size offered to put down a deposit and was told it was not necessary. A poorly managed facility and a disastrous experience.I will never do business with u haul again.

Salesperson said she could not resolve it with a little larger bin because the computer would not let her. He was sent away with nothing or no help. My experience everything worked but I did not like what happened to him. No solutions offered.

Rodger B | Overall ExperienceI was not able to move into my unit (Thursday) because it still had the padlock on it. I didn't know that UHaul was locking units until people moved their stuff in. I had hired movers to help me move in. The access code did not work. It was after the store had closed. The only phone number I had was the store number. I had to call UHaul and was on hold for a VERY long time. I ended up spending over 2 hours and three minutes on the phone trying to deal with this matter. The next day I was able to call the general manager of the store. We worked out a resolution to put into action the next day. I was finally moved into my unit on Saturday.

When I arrived at the unit after renting online, the unit had a lock on it....I had to walk all the way to the officer, make contact with someone and have them remove the lock. They removed the lock before I got back, and I looked around for the FREE LOCK which was supposed to be inside the unit....IT WAS NOT, making me walk all the way back to the office for the 2nd time. If you're going to advertise no contact move in, and move in completely online....then HAVE THE UNIT OPEN AND READY!! LUCKILY the office was open, if it was closed and I was unable to get into my unit, I would have been late to return my truck at the location on Manchester. These two inconveniences COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE, but it was still an inconvenience! Got my steps in for the day tho, so yay for that!

Super clean and always well stocked with moving carts. No issues. Rented for about 2 years. Staff was always very helpful and professional. My only suggestion would be to make the trash dumpster easily accessible. I could not access it so I had to transport any trash I had back to my apartment to put in my trash can. Since I was slowly sorting items on site, it made a lot of trips I had to take. There is a donation room on site that if you have Items like furniture or books, etc that you don’t want you can leave them there. You are also free to take whatever anyone else has left. Did get some spare boxes from this room! No hesitation in recommending this location for storage units or to rent trucks/buy supplies. They are very fair and honest.

I will never ever recommend this facility and actually went out of my way to use equipment from other locations to assist in my move out.

The key pads to all the doors were not working, so Jared immediately walked over to the building I was in and opened the main door, and apologized. When I needed to switch to a smaller unit, the paperwork was quickly accommodated. Over those three years, many of the staff who may have simply been parking or washing a truck took the moment to say hello. Another feature I really liked was the green room. I used it often as I consolidated to leave behind things for others to take.

Exiting is made difficult by the typical staging of trucks waiting to be rented, and the entry is weird due to layout that really isn't the fault of the staff. My biggest complaint is that on 75% of my visits to my unit, there was non rented Uhaul equipment parked in front of my unit. This was even more aggrevating due to the fact that the unit directing across from mine sat empty the majority of my time renting this unit. When my needs changed, and I downsized units, I took my business to another company. While I never dealt with a rude employee, the little aggravations added up.

The facility itself is well lit, very, very clean, and has security cameras in just the right spots. NOT ONCE DID I SEE A BUG! I opted for a climate controlled unit and the temperature was steadily right around 80F. My unit was on the second floor and with the spacious elevator and the always available carts very convenient. I drive an outback and always had plenty of space driving up for loading or unloading my items. This storage facility is definitely well thought through when built and has many bonuses like the restroom accessible from outside the building and the donation room where you can find all kinds of things ( even boxes) or donate items that won't fit your style anymore. Excellent facility!
