She had a nasty attitude … she was a young black girl with braids kind of light skinned and I’m black my self .. she was also rude to another lady .. she didn’t answer none of my questions I ask her . She felt like I was a bother to her . I rented a U-Haul truck from Ponchatoula and I drop it off at the one in Slidell I was given a free storage rental for one month . The girl gave me a piece of paper and didn’t not explain on which unit I would go too !! She was very unprofessional and unconcerned . It was very poor customer service.. I really hope the manager would look into this thoroughly.. definitely would refer nobody to go there !!

We were driving for 3 hours and we did NOT see that the lights werent working. We called uhaul service and they didn’t help us. Our experience here was Horrible. We had to spend extra money from our pockets to try and fix the problem..

Day before call saying the reserved pickup was not available, and that I had to drive over 40 miles to pickup a truck at another location. At first they wanted me to wait until much later to get available truck. After I complained, they looked for other possible options. This makes me very nervous about using UHaul in the future.

Prior to that, my mother died and took every dime I had to bury her. My job fired me Sept., 2024 and I have not received Workman comp payments as of this date although I have been approved. Your staff helped me allowing a payment compromise of $1,500. I am so grateful for the help received and wil never forget your kindness. Thank you,

DENNIS BPeople at the desk had a horrible attitude. I had one pack of blankets that were not opened and I was told by a clean up associate I could turn them in and get my money back. The gentleman that was trying to help me said he could not see them under my contract. When I tried to explained to him that o had to go to a different u-haul location to get blankets because the first place didn’t have any he told me not to get mad at them. This is not someone that needs to be working a desk at any business and has no concern for customer with his attitude.

JESSICA NMy truck rental was rescheduled twice. On the second attempt, the keys provided were incorrect, which prevented us from leaving until the following day. When we checked in, the process was incomplete because they used the check-in information from the previous day. We should have verified everything ourselves. To make matters worse, a storm was happening at that time. When we finally arrived at the location, the truck got stuck in the mud. Although we had insurance through U-Haul, their policy didn't cover this situation, and the cost would be an additional $450. We decided to call our own tow truck, which cost $300 less than U-Haul's service. We returned the truck on time, but were charged an extra $85. I was informed that the extra charge was because we didn't replace the gas. However, we filled the tank before returning the truck miles. I pointed out that the staff did not check the truck due to the incident the previous day. When I called the company to inquire about the extra charge, I was initially told it was due to the claim for the truck being stuck. I explained that we had called our own tow truck and paid for it ourselves, despite having U-Haul insurance. The representative then said, "Oh, okay, that doesn't sound right; hold on let me check." After a moment, they returned and told me that the charge was because we didn’t replace the gas and had exceeded the mileage by 181 miles.

CHRISTOPHER DReceptionist was rude did not have my reservation that I reserved over a week, then had to pick up a trailer and paid more than I was previously supposed to pay and now UHaul is trying to charge me 170$ extra because one of the reps told me the wrong information. Worst UHaul experience I’ve ever had will not recommend or return to UHaul.

Even upon return the same girl was there and of course being rude to me again. I will never use y'all services again! Never!!!!!
DONNIKA LThe representative told me to guess the distance I would be driving then I ended up getting charged for driving 31 miles when I drove 28. I am highly upset about being charged extra! When I went to turn the car in, the rep didn’t ask me to record my own odometer reading. I called customer service when I discovered the additional charge on my card.

ROBERT CMy mom passed away a month ago and we will be needing to rent a uhaul a few times in the next month or so. I will never use this company again. We rented the UHaul, the girl was not friendly at all, we got it Friday afternoon, so we could have everything loaded and ready to go early Saturday morning. We realized one of the back tires was flat so we went to the Racetrac to add air. The valve stem was broken so you could not add air. We returned to the UHaul office to explain the problem and they were not helpful at all. Did nothing to resolve the issue. Thanks for a really crappy customer service experience..

The cardboard boxes were pristine and there was barely even any dust on the furniture! The office staff was amazing and even took pictures so that I could post items on Facebook Marketplace. I will absolutely recommend this facility in the future! Thank you!!!

I was charged with two 15 dollar charges I called and ask to speak to a manager she would not get in the phone I had to ask repeatedly for her to talk to me and the worker said their was nothing she can do so finally going back and forth Jessie finally got on the phone and I asked could one of the 15 dollar charges be removed and she stated no so I asked if there was anyone above her like corporate number and she said she was the boss so I googled corporate and my charge was removed and the customer service rep set me up with auto draft. Yesterday 8/17/2023 I can to remove all my items from storage when I went to the office to let the employee know she told me I had to go back to my storage and take a picture of it being emptied and show her my lock. The lock was in one of my boxes and I refuse to go back to the unit because of the heat index and my car was loaded with items. So another associate volunteered to go. Just a very unprofessional staff and I took all my items and place them with another storage company right down the street. If it wasn’t for the U-Hauls that are rented out this place would surely be out of business

Jasmine C | Online Move InThe return process (with Regina and another lady, whose name escapes me) was confusing / convoluted - as they were having difficulty confirming the reservation / payment for my storage unit, which I thought was taken care of at check in. My mom, daughter and I were exhausted from loading the truck, so we were anxious to get unloaded and home for a shower - naturally our patience was wearing thin. Regina was unable to activate the card at check-in, so she told me to give her a 4-digit code that I would be able to use instead; however, when I pulled up and tried to use my code - ACCESS DENIED! We were eventually granted access to the gate, only to see a lock on the unit. By this time, its past COB and the store is now closed, so I called the number provided and subsequently ran into the other employee outside, who thankfully removed the lock before she left. Once we were granted access to the unit, my mom injured her finger on 2 EXPOSED screws dangerously jutting out of the door! I have pictures of the injury as well as the screws. Angie at the UHaul in Booneville, Ms. was very gracious, helpful and accommodating and at least in that end things went well. Obviously I am not a happy customer.l, especially having confirmed twice. If u need to use this company get names and reservation numbers and write them down! Unfortunately I did not.

Some of the staff was indifferent and not customer friendly. There were over charges and three times they were still trying to charge me for the unit after letting them know that I was moving my washer and dryer out and no longer needing the storage on July 1st. Honestly I have never had trouble with this location before and I am not sure if I would use them again.

Tried to put me in a nonclimate controlled with a broken light and you can see an open space between wall and ceiling. I reserved climate controlled. Then the lady helping me had an attitude first with well I done told you 50, 000 times what she had available and how it works online and what climate controlled and non climate control was. She told me I should have reserved a unit with ac. So at 4pm on a Friday had to find another storage unit and now waiting on my refund.

Then I ask her if it was climate controlled she said yes. And insaid it doesn't feel like it and also the wells a space in the unit that was not closed off, so air, critters, etc can get in. So again I asked about climate controlled. She said we have units with a/c but didn't have any available. Um isn't that what I reserved. So we go back inside. There were 2 small climate controlled units available but not the size I needed. So while she is looking she is again saying I told you like 50,000 times what the unit was and things to that nature. The lady helping me was arguing with me and saying I was condisending. So here it was 4pm on Friday and had to search for a new location. So now I have to wait for my refund. Will NOT reccomend this place again

Catherine R | Online Move InLighting was only from the hallway, but the unit was clean and specious. The climate control was very good, even in the heat of July. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this location. One more thing. There are lots of units that are listed as second floor, but the loading ramp makes them equal to first floor storage. There are carts stationed to wheel your goods to the unit. The ramps are covered and well protected from the frequent rain in this area. Works very well.
Errol O | Overall ExperienceBy the time I got my truck unloaded and drove it up front, the staff noticed that something was wrong with me. They call d the paramedics, put my contract on hold, and I went to the hospital. Thank God they noticed my illness. I was suffering from heatstroke and my kidneys were shutting down. I spent 3days in the hospital. Thanks to the staff, Heather and Miranda, I am alive today. These girls went above and beyond and I believe that they should be rewarded for their outstanding work ethic and their kindness and caring for another human being. They are now on my guardian angel list. Love you guys!!!!!

Afterwards, we discovered the the facility does NOT have an elevator or ramp but stairs to get to the upper unit. Furthermore, we have to utilize this facility because there isn’t another UHAUL near by besides New Orleans East.

Despite signs that said the building was sprayed for pest control I regularly saw bugs (including cockroaches) around the building. I found termite wings in my unit also. Everytime I went to my unit there was dirt in the loading/unloading area. The lighting was fine in the hallways, but the outdoor & unit lighting is poor and with cameras only on the doors of the buildings, not inside, I believe it is sub-par for security. Finally, the repeated rent increases were the last straw and I changed to a new storage facility.

They went as far as to contact my relative saying that I owed money WHEN I DID NOT OWE because I had already moved out! I had to pay the movers for this time because of the poor management at the desk. There was one women there and she was juggle 3 phones calls while trying to check me into my reservation. She was going back and forth to each call helping everyone at the same time(including me) but the problem was that she was only giving each customer a small portion of her time which meant we all had to wait an extra long time. Honestly, I should have been priority because I was physically there and I had a reservation. Having to pay the movers more money for U-Hauls problems made me the most angry. It cost me $35 extra dollars that I paid to the movers. I would like to be refunded this money from U-Haul since it was U-Haul’s poor customer service that led to me spending that money. I have been renting from U-Haul for years and have spent $1,000’s of dollars here, but this experience makes me want to go elsewhere.

She was very patient as I had many questions.

My lock was cut and they put their own lock on it hoping I would not be able to access entry and the rest would be auctioned. They broke glass tables and all. ***Do Not*** store anything of value at this place. Highly disappointed since I have used Uhaul Tilane Ave for many years with no theft issues or poor service. I want all my items back!
