I reserved a 6'x 12' trailer, but when i arrived all that was available was a 5'x 10' trailer. Only half of my stuff would fit in the smaller trailer, a queen size box spring will not fit thru the door. Next weekend I'll need to make a second trip, but I'll make that trip with rental equipment from another company.

I rented this 26' truck for a one-way service and I believe I was overcharged! I understand if there is a one-way charge (which is NOT listed anywhere on their contract nor could the employees/manager show me anything), but you rent trucks per mile and per day. I asked for a 3 day rental and the counter person says "we will give you 6 days" (yeah right!). I insisted that I would only need 3 days, yet was charged for 6. The mileage I was billed for was 2,025. I only drove 1,679.3 miles!! They billed me for .40 cents per mile for 2,025 miles and I drove 345.7 miles less!! (OVERCHARGED!!!). So U-Haul received their truck back 3 days earlier and with 345.7 miles less than I was billed. I also paid for insurance for this trip which is calculated by the day and was charged for 3 days I didn't even have the truck. U-Haul probably rented the truck out the next day and got double paid for the truck then. I have used U-Haul at least 3-5 times a year with trailer and truck rentals and this will be the last, you can guarantee, if I don't receive the funds owed for overbilling!!! I am owed $138.28 for mileage, $120.00 for the truck (3 days verses 6), and $42.00 for insurance (3 days verses 6). $300.28 plus tax returned!!!! The management at the location I dropped off didn't care and would not call a higher up manager nor give a name or number to contact. He simply said go to uhaul.com to contact. (such B.S.). YOU GUYS BETTER FIX THIS OR YOU CAN COUNT ON ME TO SEND ANY AND ALL BUSINESS TO ANY OTHER PROVIDER THAT IS OUT THERE!!

Horrible experience and it's been afew weeks and my situation has yet to be resolved! Not sure who is running U-Haul but they aren't doing a good job. I've used U-Haul at least 4 times in the last 6 yrs and had good experiences, til this last time :( I reserved a 26' truck weeks before my move date. The truck had a check engine light so they said I couldn't use it, all they had was a CARGO van to give me, yep a cargo van to move a 2 bedroom house. oh unless I wanted to wait for another day or that evening for a larger truck. Well I had all my friends scheduled for the time I made the reservation. I took it, they charged me the cargo van price and afew extra miles since it's gonna take more than 1 trip.... really?! It took me 3 trips with the cargo van and 3 other SUVs filled. Then I had furniture that could not actually fit in the cargo van! I called and they said they had a 17' truck now avail and I could switch it out... they would charge me just the price for a 17' truck but make sure I fill up the gas on cargo van... so ur charging me for a truck I get at the tail end of the move which if I had in the beginning would have only taken 1 or 2 trips now I'm up to 4 trips... I'm so upset at this point I took whatever I could get to finish my move, I only had 1 person helping by this time.... several days later I c they charge me over $50!!!!!! seriously, after all that and ur gonna charge me more than what I would have been charged for 26' truck I reserved in the first place! So I call corporate, oh so sorry, u automatically get a $50 refund for the guarantee U-Haul has, I just need to send this in and it should take about 3 business days. OK great! Wellllll over a week later, nothing.... hmmmmmmm this is BEYOND messed up

This is not a comment about the location we picked up the truck from, it is about what happened before we picked up the truck when I called U-Haul. I called U-Haul to change the time of my pick up on the truck and was advised I would have to pick up the truck in Mandeville, Louisiana because none were available in Slidell, La at any of the locations. I told them that would add a lot of extra miles to my trip and I did not want to pay $1.09/mile for something that was out of my control. Also, by picking up the truck in Mandeville my trip became a one way trip instead of a round trip, which resulted in additional fees. I spoke with a lady named Sue at U-Haul corporate (the number listed on the U-Haul website) who told me they would charge me $75.00 for the rental and I would get unlimited miles for the trip as she understood the inconvenience. I did not want to pick up the truck until 4:00 pm, which would have been possible if I was able to pick up the truck in Slidell as planned, and I could have avoided paying for an additional day. I received a call from Wayne on Friday stating his store closed at 12:00 pm on Saturday and I would need to pick it up before then, which now put me past my 24 hour return time for Sunday as I could not get the truck back to U-Haul Slidell before 11:45 am on Sunday. When I arrived to pick up the truck on Saturday, Wayne at ABC Storage informed me that U-Haul never gives unlimited miles and he did not know who would have told me that. You can imagine my displeasure upon hearing this but given our moving plans, I had no choice but to go on with the rental. First, I had to drive to another location, outside of my city causing me to pay extra mileage and gas. Even though I had been told by someone at U-Haul corporate number I would not be charged mileage. Second, I had to pick up the truck before my planned time causing me to be charged for another day. Third, had I picked up the truck in Slidell and made my reservation online, I would have only been charge $39.99 for the rental, not $75.00 which I only agreed to under the guise of unlimited mileage. We did not go over the allowed mileage by very much, and paying for it isn’t the issue, the issue lies in the lack of communication. Fourth, I must commend both locations. Wayne was very nice and personable. I understand he is not at fault. He was thorough and I understood when he explained the policies and what was expected upon the return of the vehicle. The drop-off location in Slidell was, as always, very professional and helpful. We returned the truck during a busy time when they first opened and everyone was nice and professional. We could see they were very busy but were friendly and helped us in a timely manner. You see, the problem is not with your stores but rather with your inconsistent pricing and poor communication. I was appalled with the way our situation was handled and I expect more from a corporation such as U-Haul Unfortunately I will have

When customers do reservation trailer, you should advice them about wire to turn on trailer lights, not trying to sell $130.00 a brand wire refusing other brands. In addition, advice about 2 ball inches to hang that trailer. Customers rentaling that stuff in the first time sometimes have no idea about that. The lady checked my Jeep and didn't adviced me, but she tried to help anyway later, that employee Rayan showed no wish to help, just proposal refund after make me lose my time and weekend plans, what is easy to do, customers plans not matter. I don't like that business.

I have moved three times in the past four and a half years and this team has always been my go to. They are always pleasant when I'm indecisive in the store. This move in particular, I moved to TX as opposed to locally in Louisiana. I underestimated the belongings I had and when I saw the 10ft truck, I knew I made a mistake. I called U-Haul's customer service line and originally, they couldn't locate a larger truck. I began to panic, already overwhelmed about the long distance move. Finally, the representative said she located a truck between Baton Rouge and Slidell and that the location would contact me within the hour. Well, guess who called? You guessed it - U Haul at 1685 Gause. I appreciate and thank them for their service.

There's a lady with blonde hair at the front desk who is extremely rude. She wasn't helping me but she butted in with her rudeness. I was there at 5:45 on 6/30. I rented several times there but will not return unless I have to.
