Kenneth MThe truck pulled to the right so bad I had to keep two hands on the steering wheel, if I took a drink I had to struggle and fight with the truck to keep it going straight. The steering column is not lifted up, the steering wheel is turned to the left for it to align and go straight. I had to put both feet on the brakes for it to stop properly, heard metal on metal squealing when pressing the break.
Jacob SThe trailer was fine. The customer service was awful. Couldn't understand a word the guy at the register said. Then when dropping off the trailer, they insisted on me backing out into a spot rather than leaving it at the equipment drop off. Wasted a bunch of my time backing up this unfamiliar trailer, up a hill, into a tight spot. Every other time I've rented a trailer at other locations, they have the common sense to have a pull through spot for dropping off trailers that saves me and them time. This location needs to get their s together.

The UHAul in Fayetteville NC 702-523-4706 confirm that they had a storage unit for me. When I get into town the Broad Street location in Chattanooga, Tennessee told me that they didn’t have anything for me, that they haven’t had any available storage for several months and told me that I needed to look for something else. They told me to call the Hixson location. The Broad Street location was very convenient for me because I was moving off of Broad Street and the Hixson location was way out of my way. The Hixson location was very nice and took care of me.

I called from an hour away to let them know the light came and they said it would be fine to continue to drive it. When I returned the truck, I explained what was wrong. The manager said that this was one of their old local trucks. She proceeded to check the truck out while I was waiting to go. After a few moments I asked if I was ready to leave. She told her coworker to check me in. He didn’t understand what she was saying. He finally did. I would have appreciated some kind of discount for being given a substandard truck. The manager did not even offer anything. While I was standing waiting for her to look under the hood I had to smell her cigarette smoke. This was a very poor experience and I will not use this location again.

Greg SGreat location and they always have the equipment I need. Dave and his team are very helpful and friendly. I have rented several times from these guys. It can be a tough business trying to handle all the customers coming in on the weekends, everyone with their own needs and everyone showing up at the same time, but these guys handle it well, are very patient and take the time with each customer to make sure they’re happy. Scott always goes the “extra mile” to help the customers and make sure they get what they need. A real pleasure to do business with! Keep up the great job guys!!

They all went in the dumpster because I had no way to bring them back after dropping off the truck. Would have nice to know this in advance.

Michael MIve used this location multiple times and never had a problem. This time was different. Picking up the trailer was fine, employees were very friendly and helpful, however the employee hooking up the trailer showed me that the trailer tongue was bent. Did not cause a problem however I feel this is an issue that should be addressed prior to renting the trailer to a customer. The biggest problem I had was returning the equipment. Employee had an attitude about how to return equipment. I pulled into the equipment return lane and waited about 10 minutes before finally having to signal to get his attention. Then he told me that return lanes are only for after hour returns, which has never been the case in the past. Your signage at the return lanes indicate that a representative will assist if you pull there and wait. Also on the signage, it gives directions for using an app if its after hours. this indicates to me and any other customer that this is the proper way to return equipment. The employee that assisted had a bad attitude and talked to me like I was inconveniencing him. This left a bad taste for this location and do not plan to rent from here again

Marianna MWrong location fee of $2600+ when the unit was booked for local use but had an emergency come up and needed to get home that fee is a bit excessive. Especially when U-haul charges one way rate and $.79 cpm it wasn't like I used the cargo van but instead a 10ft moving truck. Still excessive to charge almost 3x what you normally would for a one way. Other rental companies charge $250 for wrong location returns. Not to mention most people do not have credit cards that have a credit limit over $2000. I figured my account would have just been changed or converted to a one way and charged the appropriate rate with mileage $650-800 completely blindsided by the wrong location fee of $2632.**

Mendi CI had to pay a full months rent on two units even though I only used the units for a partial month. You are able to collect double rent if someone rents the units I rented, I believe you should reconsider and change your policy and allow partial month rent. The same thing happened with two units in a U-Haul facility in Knoxville, TN.

The person living in storage burglarized multiple units (including mine) by climbing over the wall on the top floor. She stole every tool I owned, which took years to acquire. The employees denied any wrong doing when the police became involved.

The training level of the staff is inconsistent. My most recent interaction in Chattanooga on Hixon Pike I met Anthony. I must say at this location he is the only one with sufficient knowledge to get you in and out but has absolutely no customer service skills. It appears that his dog died many years ago and he’s never gotten over it.

Amanda G | Overall ExperienceMy experience was frustrating as I made a reservation a couple weeks prior to moving but then, on moving day, after driving 10.5 hours from D.C., when I called to confirm the reservation I was told there was no space available. I went to other U Haul locations around Chattanooga to try and find storage but all were full. I ended up going to this location to see if something could be worked out. Upon arrival, I spent 15 minutes waiting for someone to show up at the desk and when they did they had headphones on, spoke shortly to me, and gave an overall rude reception. I explained the situation and they repeated the same story I heard on the phone. I insisted that there must be some space because another U Haul location (Broad Street) had reported that this location (Hixon) was only at 90% capacity. The individual then had us walk through the entire first floor of the storage facility where there were, indeed, available storage units. I guess they had just been unwilling to get up and look themselves before. Despite the situation being "technically" resolved, I was very disappointed in the lack of customer care and professionalism that was demonstrated and unfortunately, my perception of U Haul has diminished after this experience.

I said wow i didnt get any kinda notice or warning. And also, with the shortage of trucks on the weekend, i couldnt get a reservation until 5:15pm and i had to move a little the same day and the rest the next day. All of this occured because of the facility closing at 7th. When asked why the facility changed hours, they're only response was because people dont know how to act. Didnt really understand that but i dont feel i should've had to suffer because of someone's urge to break the law.

Not to big of a deal because the Chattanooga location is amazing and always helpful! The drop off for our truck was in Athens Ga and that was terrible. The curly headed girl behind the counter had no clue what was going on. She told us to park the truck under the green tent and give her the keys. I asked several time if that’s all that needed to be done she said yes. We dropped of the truck on Sunday at 4:45. A day early. I was called literally 5 times since Monday people asking where the truck was. I explained that we dropped it off Sunday and everything, my husband also had a conversation with someone as well. I will never use the U-Haul in Athens again. They have no clue what they are doing.

Robert R | Overall ExperienceI rented an 8x8x8 on the second floor for $84.95/mo. When I arrived I was informed there was no elevator, only stairs and I had heavy items. Nothing in the rental process indicated a lack of elevator service at the facility. The staff found a storage unit on the first floor that was 12 x 8 x 8 and I was quoted a price of $104.95/month. I agreed and when accessing the location, the ceiling was barely 6’ high, not the 8’ advertised. Ok, and when I checked out, I noticed a sign advertising that size locker at a rate of 124.95 and when she rang it up, it came up as 129.95/mo. When I asked the question about the difference in what she quoted, the sign, and the computer she yelled at me for asking the question and threatened to cancel my reservation. I explained that, as a customer, there were three conflicting amounts and all I did was ask a question. She then said, “that’s what the computer is printing out, I can’t do anything about that. Overall a very negative experience.

That did not happen. I feel uhaul owes me 144.94. The unit I reserved was not 12x10x12 I was told to go somewhere else. So I did. I used uhaul mainly because they offered me one month free.

When we arrived at the storage unit the reservation that I had made in advance was not on their computer even tho I had printed the paper showing the reservation number and date. Thankfully, there were storage units available but if there were none available that would have been a huge problem because I had a Bellhops crew there to unload the truck and put everything in storage.
