frank s | Overall ExperienceThe staff here was nothing short of amazing. I arrived about 30 minutes early and the line was rather long. The workers at the check in counter were very efficient and courteous so the line moved along quickly. After check in I went into the yard to hook up my trailer and several young men immediately showed up, hooked up the trailer and tested all the lights. I was on my way in no tome and the trailer worked flawlessly on my 1000mile trip. It helps to have your vehicle ready and the hitch and wiring ready. I highly recommend this location.
THOMAS MFirst, no one contacted me to inform me that my reservation was moved from the Veterans Blvd location to Tulane Ave. I Ubered from the airport to the Veterans Blvd location to be told I had to go to Tulane Ave which resulted in another Uber ($30.00) to get there. When arriving, they weren't sure they had a truck but eventually figured something out. The truck service required light came on half way into my drive.

robert s | Overall ExperienceThe first Uhaul truck was in such poor condition we had to turn around and get another Uhaul. Once we drove over 34mph the truck started shaking really bad. When we exchanged trucks the Uhaul receptionist was fast and nice.

AMANDA PI was charged twice for a moving truck that was back 15 minutes before it’s supposed be. A worker told me the truck would be checked in. Well that didn’t happened. I was contacted from U-Haul 3 hours later asking me if I was going to return the truck. The worker rudely hung up. It took at least an hour and half to back I contact with someone. Once I did speak to anyone that told me sadly I had to wait for a manager to assist me whenever they came to get a refund. This was inconvenient for me on a financial side to have my account tied up with an online overcharge. The next issue I moved out of a storage unit on the same day at noon. Went inside and inform the worker of this change. They called me about the storage unit after they called about the truck on yesterday. I’m not sure why the worker didn’t process the information about the storage unit. No one did anything to assist with either matter.

KRAMER ATulane was awesome. Also had a storage unit at marrero location for only 2 months and when I took my stuff out EVERYTHING was full of rat poo. And that manager asked me a question that was absolutely against the law and very snobbish. The truck rental went smoothly and wasn't at all difficult to drive being a 26 foot and the return also was a pleasant experience.

SHEMAE JReservation for 7am . Went to location to pick up and computers were down. Did not get to pick up trailer until after 10:20 am. I had a 10 hour drive to complete after loading trailer. Trip was postponed to next day due to delay. The staff at the location could not do anything to help because it was out of their control. They did call me back in when they were able to access the system on their phones unfortunately it did not allow me to get on the road in time. I am disappointed that no compensation to the price of the U-Haul was given.

Joseph AWhen I went to pick up the small truck, the internet was down at the U-Haul location. However, the staff was able to complete the process using a cell phone, but no print out was available. When I returned the truck, the internet was still not available. I only loged about 18 miles and I refilled the 2.6 gallons of gas I used. However, when I went to check the final bill, I was still charge for gas by U-Haul. That amount should be refunded to me. I have the receipt from the gas station as well as a photo of the gas gage at the time of the rental that shows that that the tank was less full at the start than indicated on the form. Had the U-haul internet been working and a form been printed and handed to me, this problem would not have occured.

KIM HLet them know that you have to be there at the time of the appointment if not they cancel your reservation. I was told I could pick up as early as 9 am for my 4 pm appointment. They changed my appointment to 9 am instead of 4 pm at 3:30 when I got there they had canceled and gave the truck away. Told me I could travel to several places to get a truck . Then they said I could wait there for them to clean a truck.you should inform people that you only have 1 hour to pick up your reservation or they cancel you.also I didn’t want to go to this location my reservation was placed in Metairie La not in New Orleans . The original place also changed my 15 ft truck for a 10 ft. Had a hard time getting them to correct their mistake then they sent me to New Orleans instead of Metairie. I purchased 2 bags of peanuts for packing and didn’t need them so I tried to return in Texas my destination when returning the truck . In Texas they wouldn’t let me return the 2 unopened bags because I didn’t buy they from that store.nit happy with u Gaul at all will never use again and will never recommend your company.

Daniel M1. Don’t allow people to book hitch installation appointments for 7 am and have them arrive to find out he “doesn’t get in until 9.” 2. Inspect your equipment so that rusted out wheel Wells and cracked leaf springs don’t cause a blow out on the highway.

The return agent was helpful getting the truck back on the lot with no space. If I ever have to move something around the city I’ll go back to this location.
CHARLENE EThe trailer we rented had a rusted out wheelwell and leaf spring, leading to a tire blowing out on the highway, us waiting for 2 hours for a mechanic to come Replace it, and then only being able to drive 100 miles. We lost 24 hours total and could have died.
Matthew RDo not trust the attendant to be honest about the fuel level. I returned it at the correct fuel mark and they charged me for additional fuel. I sent an email responding to this and they never responded or reimbursed my card.

Lashundre AReserved a 10ft truck 4 days in advance, scheduled to pick up at 9:00 am on a Sunday. Arrived 10 minutes early to be first in line. No one was at location by 9:10 am, tried calling Uhaul office to inquire, only got automated answering service. Waited an additional 20 minutes (9:30 am), called again, no live agent to respond. Finally Mgr arrived 9:45 am. No excuse given, no apology for being 45 min late, there were at least 10 other people waiting...Next day received final billing statement, and was charged $80 dollars for equipment that I never ordered...waiting to see if a credit will be issued to my credit card. Overall a very poor performance by your company. This location was on Tulane Ave. New Orleans, La.
RUSSELL PI ordered moving blankets - 1 dozen. Was only supplied 6, so receiving store asked where the rest of the blankets were. I explained that I only received one package.
Paul FThere was a conflict with my card being charged nearly $3k. Luckily I did my vehicle inspection before leaving and was able to get the charge corrected to $190. I advise everyone to be mindful of your vehicle inspection and keep up with your paperwork you get scammed due to negligence. The team worked cooperatively until the issue was resolved and assured me they would make every effort to make it right.
VASHTI Mlong wait times for short lines, rental equipment charged for despite never being received. Rude, accusatory, and condescending management. Prices shown at time of online booking are not anywhere near true charges to your account. Lack of transparency. If you're renting from here, double check that you don't get ripped off like I was.

HOLLY JMy only concern was that the vehicles were parked too close to each other. I, myself, am I large person and had trouble getting in the vehicle to move it off the lot. Please keep this in mind. Thanks.

Either way, she was great, everyone else was actively aggressive and unhelpful. Storage facility was locked an hour and forty-five minutes after opening hours. Syringes outside the main storage entrance. People obviously living in storage units. I cleaned out my unit and went to the front desk to be met with someone who was rude, unhelpful, and aggressive. After a series of one word questions, she said that they needed to confirm my unit was actually clean, then left to the back to audibly read what appeared to be Laffy Taffy jokes. Came back to be rude to people on the phone who were calling to try to verify information, then talked with the guy at the desk about how much they hated the job. Ten minutes later eventually handed me back over to the lady with the gold teeth who handled closing my account out promptly and professionally.

A little back story, one been dealing with stalking & harassment for sometime. My harassers will call everywhere I go & try to make things as difficult as possible for me. I have police reports regarding my situation, however, it continues to happen. So, when I needed a storage unit in a hurry, I was looking to get a unit as quickly & painless as possible. That didn’t happen, AT ALL. I told the woman that I needed the smallest unit they had because I only had a few items to store. She told me they had a unit for $89.00, smallest they had available. I told that women I'd take it. When I go to pay, she then tells me she doesn't accept cash. I then had to walk a mile to deposit that cash out into my account, to pay with that debit card. I then walk all the way back to the U-Haul to pay with my card. Once back there, another women tells me the smallest unit they only have 5x10 available now at $129.95 a month. I believe that these people that have been harassing me called down to the U-Haul & told the employees to rent me the more expensive unit. Why do I believe this? Because it's happened so many times before. I can guarantee that if you were to pull phone records from that day, you would get confirmation of my claim. I am beyond upset and will be posting about my awful experience every opportunity I get online. The way u was treated that day is inexcusable & I'll make sure to no longer give this business not even another dollar of my money after the first month is up. I can't state enough how unprofessional this place & their employees are. Avoid like the plague.

So was the nice young man who helped me add a locker when we ran out of room later in the evening.. Strangers came up and helped us unload two pianos and we ended up exchanging information. It is very stressful moving but these things all made it easier. Had some trouble with the key entry after the office closed and that was a real pain in the butt. Having to scan in and out over and over and especially when using the elevator was not fun. At one point the system locked us out and wouldn’t let us back in and we hadn’t secured the lockers or even closed the doors, and we had stuff in all three hallways. Thankfully another customer let us back in but we had to leave the door propped open while we were outside finishing unloading the trailer so we didn’t get locked out again.

The online process was easy however once we got to our unit the storage was padlocked despite the online booking saying “the lock and key will be in the storage unit”. We could not access the unit that day and had to wait for the following morning which made it difficult with my work schedule. It was stressful when you are told you have access to your unit and then you can’t even open it. I also called that location in Tulane AL multiple times and they never picked up

But I had an issue with the rental of a truck the first time I got there, I got gas and returned the truck and was charged with low gas. I had only drove 14 miles and had the truck no more than one hour. What I did not do then was take photos or get a receipt for the gas. This time when I picked up a van and check the gas level it was less than the second notch (photo taken) I drove less than a mile , the marker dropped substantially (photo taken). This time I had drive less than 10miles and had the van about an hour. I did fuel up the van and returned it pass the mark I got it. I am not pointing fingers just making a legitimate case on the rental of your vehicles. SOMETHING IS WRONG!!!!

I moved out on the day the automatic draft for payment came out of my account. I’ve been informed that my money will not be refunded even though I will not be occupying the space. To me that’s bad business. I won’t be using the Tulane location again.
Karen S | Overall ExperienceUhaul defrauded me. The elevator to this facility is poorly maintained and often out of order, such as on the day I tried to store my belongings in my storage unit. No reasonable person would elect to haul heavy boxes/furniture up three flights of stairs, but that’s what Uhaul would have me do as they refused to refund the cost of the unit even though I wasn’t able to store a single item due to poor management and customer service. The conduct of the staff is egregious, giving me misinformation when I presented the issue to them and promising return calls from management that never came. They even went so far as to gaslight me by saying I wasn’t a customer and had no account with them, even though I have documentation of my contract with Uhaul and the lease agreement. This facility has convinced me not to give Uhaul another cent, and I will share my experience with everyone I know.

The access hours changed while I was a customer, but I was not notified and it wasn't called out during the rental of the new unit. I loaded a truck full of stuff and got there at 7:20PM thinking that I had until 10:00PM to unload seeing as those were the previous hours and that's what the sign on the outside of the storage building said. My unit was on the second floor, and even though I could still access the first floor, I couldn't use the elevator or stairs to move stuff. A sign inside the facility reflected the shortened access hours. When I came back with the truck the next morning, the elevator was out of service, which seems like a regular occurrence. This led to me having to walk all of my belongings up the stairs to the second floor. I'll be leaving this facility as soon as I can.

I believe a vehicle was available and the agent was getting off and was ready to leave so she said there were no vehicles available. I rented a storage unit too. I was told the unit is open from 7 to 10. I made it to the unit to unload the truck at 9p…the storage was closed. I came back this morning for 7:30 and the unit still was not opened. I am moving my belongings to the Public storage across the street for better customer service

I talked to the manager Brandon Pierre and he was very rude and said that’s all they had available. I stood talking with the associate before he even came out the office and his office is literally one step away. We went back and forward about the storage not being a 4 bedroom unit. He said the person that helped was working from home and didn’t know what sizes the storage units are, I told they should have knowledge of anything they are selling from uhaul. Brandon gave me a refund on the storage but I feel I should get a refund for the truck that I used and loaded for nothing. Tulane Ave. UHaul is very unprofessional and unorganized. Would not recommend anyone to that one.

The reception was unhelpful and said they could not check security cameras and I was given a contact number to call. No one answered this number or responded to my voicemails. I assume that it was the business that backed the truck into my car, it cost me a $500 deductible. I would in no way shape or form recommend such a business to anyone.

I called and told them I moved out. I got emails about stuff going up to auction. I called and told them I moved out. I left a few things because I could not get them. I told desk employee. I even asked if they had somewhere I should throw the few things I had left. I have asked multiple times to speak with manager. Waited on phone for hours multiple times for almost a year. Was told he would return my call ever time after being placed on hold for unrealistic amounts of time. Was told he was hooking up trailer, filling up propane, checking truck, over in storage. None of these things should take almost two hours. He has never returned my phone calls. My account was sent to collections for over $1400. I am so disappointed and disgusted with the staff at this facility. I did everything I could to get this matter straightened out. The employee instructed me wrong. Had I known this would happen of course I would have done it differently. The manager avoids his duty to speak with customers and discuss important matters. I would not recommend this facility at all nor any Uhaul facility if I can not get this off my credit history. I should not have to pay for a storage unit I moved out of. I can not drive four hours to speak to a manager face to face. I am now going to reach out to headquarters on the matter.

I do have a problem because in the description of the storage unit it said 5xx8x10 and it is not that it is 5x8 at the front but it drops down to 4 or 3 foot. I really needed a storage unit as advertised. I will need to get into the storage unit often. I do not want to have to go and have to remove everything or close to everything just to get items out and put it all back just have to take it all out again to put it all back. I did not say anything the day I took possession because I was extremely tired and did not want to lose my temper. I hope that we can work something out because honestly it is misleading and I expect better of U-Haul.
