Skyler LEnsure the trucks don't leak and the vents and heating system is cleaned better after some one has smoked in it. The one I rented on 4/26 reaked of cigarette smoke,the box leaked and the driver's side door did not secure correctly.
NAOMI KThe employee waisted about 20 minutes looking for the trailer that was assigned to me, all while there were other trailers there that she could have given me. She made it sound like she didn't have anything to give me until I asked her if they had any at all. Plus, I couldn't get a printed copy of the paperwork because they ran out of paper. I've rented from this location several times, it sounds like poor management. She did however do a great job hooking up the trailer to my truck.

BRENDA RCustomer service was fine, but communication was poor. We weren’t informed that the requested truck wasn’t available until day-of when we showed up. We ended up with a much smaller truck. Had I known prior about the truck situation, I would have gone to another location.
LAURA DWhen I arrived at 3:15 to drop off my trailer, the tenant was too busy smoking a cigarette to help. I had almost completely unhooked the trailer, and I told the attendant that I needed to leave because I had a family emergency that I needed to go, and she insisted that I backed the trailer to the location where she wanted it Instead of her, doing her job and unhooking the trailer and backing it where it was I was forced to back the trailer in where she wanted it in a tight space almost bending up my truck, trying to get it where she wanted it when if she would’ve just used the Equipment that you provide employees to move the trailer would’ve been greatly easier and I wouldn’t have been late, trying to help a family member. I am thoroughly not impressed with that employee and the fact that the employee found it necessary to direct a customer to do her job instead of her doing it herself She was a middle-aged woman long brown hair. She had on a blue jacket, black shirt, black leggings, and was smoking a cigarette while carrying a cell phone thoroughly and utterly on impressed by the performance of that employee in their duty.

Judith W | Overall ExperienceEveryone was just so nice and helpful. I was having a hard time with my UBox account after some major life changes. I was struggling financially and having a hard time with transfer paperwork. The management and staff in Augusta worked with me and were so patient. It meant a lot to me that they made sure I got back on track, and made sure my possessions were always secure.
Ivy RMy drop off location got changed AFTER I had left in the U-Haul, providing only two options at were over an hour away. They still charged me for the extra mileage and the clerk said I could call customer service because she couldn’t do anything. She appeared to be working alone, she was outside cleaning U-Haul trucks when I arrived and then came in to check me out.

AUGUST U | First ImpressionsMy ubox arrived with the "shipping bolts" still installed, preventing me from opening the door as one of them had stripped and would just spin when turned with a wrench, as instructed by uhaul staff. This resulted in a delay in unloading the ubox that was then followed by a large snowstorm that buried the box to inaccessibility for over a month. Uhaul then charged me for keeping the box past the pickup date and refused to send anyone to cut the bolt or otherwise open the container, resulting in over $250 in extra charges. I eventually hired a mechanic to come to my house and cut the bolt, thereby preventing damage to the ubox door, even though i was assured by uhaul staff to "go ahead and break it open. We won't charge you for the damage". That cost another $100.

I put $20 in for gas to fill the engine before heading on our trip then another $30 on the way back and it cost me another $32 to get it back to 6/8 of a tank to where it originally started. That's somewhere around 8 gallons a mile

Darrin CHad a very unpleasant interaction with the general manager Brianna Miner (unsure of spelling). What was already a frustrating situation turned ugly fast when she became unprofessional and threatened to cancel my reservation due to issues that were a direct result of UHAUL company incompetence. She was extremely rude to myself and my boyfriend who was helping me move the rental truck and trailer that were rented. UHAUL did a poor job of communicating and she has poor customer service and professionalism.
Anna DLet people know they can't use 2 different bank cards for the purchase when making their reservation on the phone with u haul especially if they get to haul and have no transportation to get to either bank. The lady could have been nicer when I returned the u haul truck.

It had no windshield wiper fluid and we only made it back because we were lucky enough to have a bottle of water to splash on the windows. Also, the brakes were scary and we could feel the transmission shifts. Very scary experience for my family.

ADAM BThe check in was terrible. The individual working made absolutely no eye contact with me and mumbled during her conversation with me. I arrived promptly at 7AM. There was a customer in front of me. I was not acknowledged at all. Once finished with the customer she told me she would have to go outside to hook up a trailer. Finally, at 7:18 she returned. Began reading the paperwork to me. She asked if I would be returning the truck @ 3PM and I said well it's 7:20 before I'm getting the truck. She simply repeated you will return the truck promptly @3PM correct. I was so done with her at that point I just wanted to leave. When we opened the back of the truck it wreaked of cigarette smoke. Overall, I would rate the experience a 2!!!

DENNIS MCustomer service was rude and brusque. They didn't do anything to help me do anything. The van was covered in some kind of bird poop and incredibly close to empty. Lots of extra steps and time on an already stressful day. Once upon a time, I thought a lot of Uhaul. Not anymore.
CORRYE VEmployee didn't bring us out for a walk through. Back door was left open, passenger door wasn't latched, swung open when pulling out of uhaul, had no passenger nor touched that door. Truck wasn't clean in any manner, animal hair all through inside of truck made allergies extremely poor of a 4 hour drive in the snow sneezing & puffy eyes. Seat on passengers side had large tear. Asked employee about it, making sure noted. When returning uhaul, the kind man in jackman asked & i showed the time stamp photos I took of the truck prior to leaving. Seats & floor had dry mud all over inside of truck & on dash board. Overall very poor experience with uhaul in Augusta

ROBERT CI drove the truck 15.9 miles. Put 3 gallons of gas in before I returned it, they charged me for 5 additional galleons of gas. So 8 gallons to go 15.9 miles? Seems like a scam.

JOHN BDo not falsely add fuel charges when I refueled it before I returned it. Furthermore, do not falsely indicate there was 1/4 tank of fuel when it was more like an 1/8 when I picked up the truck, and then after I refueled the truck and drop it off with 1/4 tank my contract now says there is only an 1/8. I drove 14 miles in a truck rated at 10mpg, and put in 3 gallons which more than covered my fuel use, yet I am still charged a erroneous $40 + in bogus fuel charges. This above setting me on the road with a front tire that didn't hold air and was blatantly obvious, and a puncture in one of the rear wheels. Basic stuff anyone would know, see, and take care of if you actually care about customer service. But an unsafe truck, and ripping me off for money I don't have on a false charge. I signed a agreement for a little over $101 for renting the truck. I brought it back clean, undamaged, and refueled. Despite this, the company still decides to rip me off. It will be the last time.

lisa EUnfortunately upon my arrival the vehicle was not ready for rental, even though I had made a reservation weeks prior. I was then informed by staff that the vehicle's fuel tank was empty.This forced me to fill the tank prior to beginning my trip. None of the employees appeared familiar with the equipment and rental process, or anything for that matter... Neither could explain how to estimate the mileage cost or how the fuel usage would effected the final cost. I completed my move regardless. Thank you and good luck finding better help.
SAMUEL GSo the store was clean, employees helpful and efficient, the truck was clean...not in great condition as far as the truck itsself. Even with the truck empty, the brakes weren't very good. With one heavy fridge in the truck, it stopped even worse, even at low speeds. I didn't feel comfortable going over 35 miles/hour in this truck at any time.

I was informed on May 28, 2024, it was an error and the unit next to me moved out. Informed they will fix the issue. Sent emails that I'm vacating and surveys. But don’t see no emails they’ve fixed the mistake they’ve made! Just an FYI- if I’m moving out I’m going in person to notify them! Really disappointed that this issue was corrected as of May 29, 2024. This issue needs to be fixed, for what I’m paying for an over priced unit with no lighting to see inside the unit to store items properly.

They did not give me a time/day that they could do it only they'd call me when they can. I didn't hear for 10 days, so i called. They told me again, they didn't have a time but to call again in a few days, so i did. I got someone else who was incredibly irritated that i was calling to have someone cut the lock, and repeatedly told me that wasnt something they did. I tried to explain someone else had already told me that they'd do it. She eventually agreed to have someone cut it. Again i waited for 10 days, heard nothing and then whenever i called no one answered. I finally got ahold of the same individual who told me it couldn't be done and after almost a month of a run around she told me its just not going to happen. I eventually paid for someone to cut the lock however there are no outlets in the storage facilities so he essentially had to smash the lock off. I would give the communication of this facility 0 stars if i could. Won't be doing buisness here if I can avoid it.

Joseph G | Online Move InVery disappointed that my unit reservation was not honored. I was told there were no more units available in the size / price I reserved. I was offered a larger unit at the *standard* price. Since U-Haul did not honor my reservation, you should have at least honored the price on my reservation. Otherwise, this is just a game U-Haul is playing because finding an alternate storage provider in the area with the desired size and price is impossible to do on the day of move-in. I do not understand the purpose for U-Hail to offer unit reservation if they are meaningless… And giving me a free lock is ok, but I didn’t ask for one, nor did I need one. I had the lock that I purchased from UHaul in May (plus the one I had purchased in May 2022). Further, the unit I was given had a rat poison container inside. Why would I want to entire rats to come in to my unit?

I called and spoke with Aiden who told me it was OK for ABF trailer to be delivered to the site and left overnight while I loaded it. Then Brianna refused to allow the ABF trailer to stay -this exacerbated the stress in my move. I’m also concerned because I was told that with each U-Haul truck rental, I would receive one month of free storage. Seems silly to me that the rule is Storage in one facility is not allowed. but what if that is what your customer needs?

Then I got charged double price of 99.95 when I only asked for 1 month. I called and they said they didn't see 2 charges but the money has already been taken out of my account. I have two critiques that made this a 4 star experience rather than 5 star. 1) I had a upper level locker which required use of the portable staircase. The opening at the top of the staircase was too narrow to easily passing U-Haul medium and large boxes into the locker. Therefore, we had to lift the boxes over the rail. I would have expected the staircase to be designed to the dimensions of the U-Haul boxes. 2) The units are billed by the month, and the rate is not prorated if I move out mid-month. I went one week past my bill date, but paid for the whole month. I'm sure they rented out the unit after I moved out and effectively collected double payment for the last 3 weeks of the month. I leaves a bad taste.

He tried to add a $18 fee for the gas tank amount. The truck as returned just under full as what it was when I rented it. He tried to document 1/2 full tank. This guy was not pleasant in any way, was very arrogant! The other employee was very professional and verified that the gas tank was as I said. I’m sorry for not catching his name or the other guys name. One should be terminated and the other should get a raise. My complaint is of the rental truck and not the storage rental.

The insurance we purchased is refusing to pay replacement value for damaged items, depreciating even new items and delaying payment. The front office folks were decent and assisted with reporting that the unit did actually leak, but the insurance company would not accept their word and required photos from a unit with no lights and a roof leak.

I’ m sure he is a nice young man but this is not helping him think clearly. He was trying hard to do a good job though. .I feel like someone may have alerted my stalker that I was there as he pulled in while I was renting. Which is not a coincidence. I am in hopes that my stuff won’t be stolen from the unit before I can get it out. This is a very small community and everyone seems to know the person I have a pfa on. I stopped by today to ask some questions and change the lock. I also called about getting extra insurance on my things and no one could answer my question? Please let me know if I can purchase additional insurance. The truck I rented was a clunker and I had concerns about it breaking down. It was an old moving van. Im sure you have newer models. I also tried to change the lock into something that could not be picked as I am concerned the lock I was provided with can be picked and my things stolen. I hope you can understand my predicament and watch out for my unit.

Why would a company provide a customer with such reference numbers if you have no way to research with them, gives your customers and future customers a false sense of trust in company that refuses to stand by their word and then refuses to help a customer when they are being told they are rude for inquiring. I’m allowed to be frustrated that my confirmed reservation was cancelled and charges from UHaul on my debit card could not be located and refused to give the merchandise purchased without the researched receipt. Bad customer service for such a high priced storage unit. Let’s hope the rest of my interactions through out this process improve.

Recently rented a climate controlled storage unit from them and it was also a great experience. They keep the building clean and secure. Very customer oriented company.

We thought sweet okay for that price that's great.... come to find out it was actually 10 times smaller than that and we needed to utilize 2 units instead of just one!( thank fully staff on was able to help work out a deal for this false information and took the first month of of the second one so we had a 2 for 1 month deal, but all we had was a couch a bed Frame( in peices), a box spring, and a few loose items, these took up 90% of both units " half the size of a two car garage!" Not!, and the late fees are ridiculous one day late and you charge $20 for a "delinquent Fee" I appreciate the storage availability.. but again the prices, lies, and late fees are what took had us move out!

I repeatedly changed my address and left a credit card but never was charged as expected. The store locked my storage unit and would not reply to my messages until corporate got involved. I know times are hard but this was ridiculous. So happy to be done with this mess.

First, she took my initial phone call, answered all my questions and made me feel comforted in having to handle a last-minute, unplanned move of my college student due to coronavirus. Then when I arrived from NJ the next day, her smiling face met me and she again calmly explained everything and got me set up. This is my first time renting storage; she was patient, helpful and didn't rush me. Then I made three trips to the facility in the next 24 hours. I was impressed with the cleanliness, the access to carts, the security, etc. I can't say enough about how Heather went above and beyond and how all the little things she did added up to reducing my stress in a time when I greatly appreciated it. Also, thanks for the one-month free for displaced college students. I thought that was a very classy and empathetic move by UHaul. You earned my business and Heather is the reason you'll keep my business.
