Van was not safe for maine winter driving conditions. I’m lucky but still wish I could go back in time and not have done this.

Hire some people to work the counter. We reserved our truck online and did the “express” check in, just to get there and wait over 45 minutes. There was one customer in front of us, and one at the counter. There was one guy working the counter. After waiting 35 minutes, another guy showed up with a Burger King bag and very angrily got us on our way. What is the point of an express check in if there is not express line when we get there? To wait 45 minutes to even speak to anybody for something already reserved is ludacris! We will be using a Penske truck from Steve’s in Sidney next time.

Always great service! Thanks!

The local location was exceptional. I arrived on time only to find out I had no reservation. The local people were great and fixed me up with what I needed. If this had not been the case I would naturally not have been happy. The internet site screwed up.

This place needs some supervision. I was given the wrong size truck from what I told the attendant the night before. I rent trucks all the time and I know what I requested. The truck was dirty and the ramp was burred with snow and I had to dig it out. Piles of snow was on the roof and blew off in front of other vehicles on the interstate. The floors in the store was covered with sand and salt and looked like it hasn't been cleaned in months. The front door was half way open to the frigged arctic cold. It seemed there was so much rocks and sand salt and no one bothered to close it making the show room cold. The attitude of the attendant was poor. When I returned the truck I was surprised to see 4 other U-Haul trucks ahead of me waiting to return the rentals. Finally an attendant walked back to me, took my return mileage and told me my receipt is in my e-mail. He never walked around to inspect the truck for damages or open the box up to see if equipment was missing. It was a horrible experience from what i'm used to at U-Haul Augusta Maine. What happened there?????

my only problem was with the furniture dolly not having properly greased wheels, other than that it was standard u-haul operation. They are a good company to do business with and I will go with them again.

Had to wait a bit when returning truck. It seemed that the location only had one person to do the desk and inspect returned vehicles.

Truck ordered online ...not ready or warmed up on a cold day...no smiles , no personality, apparently hates his job...

The vehicle was snow covered from snow the day before. Ice build up on the mirror remained until after I had departed. Upon melting the passenger side mirror was broken. Upon return, the attendant acknowledge the previous damage. Would have been nice to know before departure. Other than that, great!

I reserved a trailor by phone, went to pick up location, the 2 men were unaware of the reservation. The trailor was in the garage blocked by a van stuck in the snow, they were unskilled in moving the van, I held back from informing them what to do. Did get the trailor, on my way. Returned the trailor in the evening, 1 man had left. Another customer was waiting inside. She had online reserved a mover. They didn't have her' s ready either and was outside shoveling the snow off. I needed to get to work but was told by the man that the other customer was ahead of me. I attempted to drop the trailor on my own. But the screw hitch had been put on quite tight. He did have to help. I did not receive an return paperwork.

Overall our experience with U-Haul is wonderful. But, it’s kinda rotten that UHaul does not return money if you over pay for miles, and hits you hard if you under pay. We covered our situation to make sure didn’t have under miles, but, when we went way over we did not get the money from those miles back... It’s a rude system. You could at least reward the customer who covered themselves by giving them their money back for miles not used.

We had a guaranteed reservation, made on November 23 through the web site for a 26' truck to be picked up in Augusta Maine, to be used for our move on December 15. We even called the store in Augusta the next day to confirm they had received our order, and they said "no problem". The day before we were set to move, UHaul called to say they had no 26' truck for us. They suggested a 20' truck , but we would have to pick it up at another city and drive to Augusta. No one seemed to think it was a problem that we had hired two sets of movers, one to load in Augusta and one to unload in Bangor, and even suggested perhaps we could make our move on another day!!! All of this the day BEFORE our guaranteed reservation and move. We actually had to call Penske to try and arrange a truck, and they were very accommodating, although much more expensive. The next day, after driving to Penske and finding that we would need to wait for them to get a truck there, my husband again called UHaul (800 #) and complained about having a guaranteed reservation that meant nothing! The woman we talked with had a very poor attitude, but finally said if we would drive to the Augusta UHaul (where we originally reserved the 26' truck) we could take a 20' truck that just happened to be available. She said if that truck wasn't big enough the store in AUgusta would add a trailer to the truck to take the remainder of our items. The only reason the move turned out well was that both moving crews we hired were awesome! The staff at UHaul in Augusta never made any attempt to tell us they were sorry for the problems, and gave us a truck that hadn't been cleaned out, was covered in snow and ice, and sent us on our way.

I thought the person whom I dealt with at this location was a bit 'gruff 'and a bit 'curt'! It was fairly early in the day so I guess he might have had 'cause' for his demeanor! I got thru it OK and will certainly go back to this location for my future rental needs!

I was heading to Florida from Maine. I grabbed the last 6x12 they had available. I was told the trailer was ready to go. Trailer was in terrible shape. Door wouldn’t hardly open and when we returned it they couldn’t even open it. Some marker lights didn’t work or were missing. The tires were about bald. Tires pressures were all over the place some were put more then 10 psi. The floor was cracked and broken. These are just some of the issues I encountered. The drop off location staff couldn’t even believe I was given this trailer to make my 1600 mile journey.

I reserved a 17' truck, key word reserved. First when reservation was confirmed, wrong date and time. Second truck I reserved was 17'. Got offered a 26' in place of for same price, cannot fit that size into driveway where moving to that's why I asked for and reserved a 17'. Third, man working did accomadate me by offering a truck smaller BUT it needed to be returned in Augusta not Waterville where I wanted to originally drop off on the same day. I said I could return it but didn't want to pay the mileage over the 30 aloted. Man said he'd make it work. Upon return of truck he wanted me to pay mileage. I ended up not paying it but overall a mess. A reservation is suppose to mean exactly that, I wanted a specific size for a reason with drop off location due to mileage and conveinance.

I had a great experience with the Augusta Maine U-Haul branch. I rented a large trailer and the on-line check-in worked great. The check-in when I arrived was excellent. The attendant was very helpful and answered all of my questions. The return was smooth even though it was very busy. I highly recommend this location for renting a U-Haul
