Was ridiculous that my pickup got switched to this location unwillingly when I had placed my reservation with the Hamden location 9 months prior. The employee at Hamden pressured me into switching to this location without explaining anything at all. Was told the other location was 3 miles away which means nothing to me since I don’t know the area at all. When I asked for a slight discount at pickup the staff were rude and inconsiderate and said I made a “verbal agreement” with them which is very very untrue. Completely ridiculous experience and not easy at all.

VIRGINIA SI only drove my rental round trip to my garage I live in the 80"s section of Dixwell Ave new haven and my garage is on Sherman Ave Mt caramel hamden when you google the distance it's 6.5 miles let's just say 7miles ok round trip that's 14 miles per day for 4days you so the math that branch charged me for 98 miles smh

JOHN BI rented the cargo truck however, when I got into the truck the check oil message was on the dashboard, I went back to the guy and asked him if I was going to have a problem with the truck. He said, "No it just means the oil will have to be changed soon". His manner in which he spoke to me was as if I was bothering him. I did not like that! I was simply just asking a question because I did not want to have any problems with the truck. If I may suggest something it would be not to rent the trucks that need servicing soon because that is what the message was across the dashboard. Thank you. d
DEBRA PJust because of the customer service i would not recommend. Both the time i spoke to someone they were both rude, uneducated, and misguiding. When i asked for assistance that required higher authority i was told they dont have managers or supervisors at all. I find it hard to believe there is no highrr authory

Edward VI was attended to by a person with a very bad attitude, every time I requested a change, he responded very rudely, he kept telling me not to give him any problems, that he just wanted to do his job quickly, he didn't help me change my reservation, I had no option but Taking a car larger than I wanted was my mistake in the reservation, but anyone else with a better attitude could help me.

VANESSA BThe 2 gentlemen there on Tuesday, September 16th were too guetto. They would NOT even listen so I can express my opinion about a stolen truck that I was victim of. I had the police but they were accusing me of stealing my own rental. Crazy story, it was.

DEBORH WI reserved a van on August 10 for August 23. 5 minutes before I areived (15 minutes before my reservation) I receive a call from the person at the location that claimed “You just pushed through a reservation for a van and we don’t have any.” When I areived, there were 6 on the lot. He was argumentative, refused to see the email proof I didn’t just do it and refused to rent me the van because “they are renting for an hour and you all day”. Very abrasive and rude and nothing in response to my asking what about the guarantee Uhaul claims that it will be available. I rented the truck at a higher price asking for a reduction given their error and was fold to rent it or go elsewhere. I will not rent at this location again.

WILLIAM CRequesting to rent items like utility Dollies that are not available when the rental occurs. Also, I was late to pick up a truck so my reservation was given away and the truck was no longer available. The employee said they had no trucks in the next size available but I was able to go online and complete the booking myself, and got the truck.

merryl eI rented a 15 foot truck, and when I got there there were none available. I was given a 10 Foot. This made my move much harder (lack of a ramp) and MUCH more expensive. We had to do multiple trips with the movers which cost us hundreds more in moving costs.

Catrice WU haul went above and beyond for me today and I appreciate it very much.
Taiwan TWhen I picked up the truck, there was a sign on the dashboard advertising the trucks at UHaul, which in retrospect indicates to me that I was given the truck that had been sitting in the lot for a lengthy period of time as an advertisement. As soon as I drove the truck away, a light came on indicating that there was low tire pressure in the front-right tire. I called the location and asked if I could bring it back and get another, and the man on the phone, who earlier could not be bothered to come out and do a walk through with me because he was on his cell phone with someone, told me I couldn’t bring it back and would have to call roadside assistance despite the fact I was right down the street. I then tried to put air in the tire to no avail. Ultimately, I called roadside assistance and was forced to wait for nearly five hours until someone could could come out to fix the tire. I was unable to load load my vehicle or continue my move during these hours, and I ultimately was late vacating my apartment and was charged a fee because of UHaul. The company that change the tire said that an object was lodged in the interior side of the tire slowly releasing air and that probably the facility just continued to pump air into the tire instead of addressing the issue. So I guess this UHaul location thought I, the customer attempting to move, should be responsible for facilitating maintenance on its vehicle! I have used UHaul many times and it has always been convenient with great customer service, but this was an unmitigated nightmare! At this point, I do not foresee myself using UHaul ever again. I encourage UHaul corporate to conduct a review of its 116 Whaley Ave., New Haven, location, which is clearly being mismanaged.
