Logan NThe lady who hooked up the trailer to my truck was good except for routing of the light cord. It was left dangling loosely alongside the ball area of the hitch and at one point midway on my 7 hr trip, I noticed the hitch had cut the trailer light cord in half and blew 2 fuses. I then had no lights whatsoever to the trailer. This issue cost me a 3 hour delay waiting for a technician and parts to fix or replace the electric cord to the trailer.

When I explained I had not idea what she was talking about because I have rented for years and never have I been asked for one she rudely stated does this look like it will fit there you need an adapter. She then stated we don't rent those so you have to buy one. But I will get you a manager and walked off. I never asked for a manager she offered one. I was talking to my boyfriend on text and told them they may have to take trailer off as he has an adapter in his car that I would have to go get. He decided to just buy a new one. When the sweet lady up front asked what i would be doing I stated I guess wasting money in which the rude girl rolled her eyes all dramatically and walked off to grab the adapter. Tell her to be more friendly when clients are suddenly surprised with extra cost and they may not get so upset.

DAVID CThis is by far the worst truck I have ever rented from U-Haul. The transmission needs a complete rebuild as it would barely shift from first gear into second gear; then from second gear into third. I kept the truck on regular city streets, as it is not safe for freeway driving. If I had gotten into an emergency traffic situation, there is no way that the truck could have moved safely enough to avoid an accident. Please get this thing off the road and fix it before another drives uses it. Also, the air conditioner doesn't cool if the outside temperature is over 75 degrees. Which basically means that it doesn't work at all.

GLENDA KThe UHaul personnel were all very nice. My issue is it seems that your different divisions don’t communicate electronically well. If I update my payment info, should it not be accessible to all divisions immediately? Also, if I’m scheduling a pick up or drop off, it would be nice to be able to do it from my rental page. Add in a link. Instead I had to go thru 3 different numbers to schedule the pick up. Your people are great, it’s your system that needs to be more cohesive. Plus since I returned these boxes before paid rental periods were over, shouldn’t I get back a prorated amount? Because in reality you could re-rent these boxes making double on 1 box and that doesn’t seem fair. I had one box come due the day before it was delivered and 2 days before y’all picked it back up. Also don’t see where it’s fair that if I rent a box, that I get charged for delivery. The point of the box is to have it delivered. Shouldn’t that cost already be built in?? Just my take on it. I would have went with Pods had they been available where I needed them.

CHARLES BI never visited this location and they will not refund money. I did not check a box and feel this is a scam. I am with a school district just needing a trailer. Why in the heck would a school need a storage facility. Check security footage and you will find not I nor anyone visited this place. We will rent a trailer regularly for trips, we can find other solutions!!! Fraud has happened!!

Kirk HDon’t say you’ll charge me 35$ for a rental and then tack on 70$ and then another 20$.
RAILEY NHitch wiring was mot professional looking, not tuck away, there was on bracket on the hitch to accommodate the plug being securely held in place(as shown on the website video). I now have to go somewhere and get the wiring done professionally and a bracket of some sort put on. The website video needs to be redone to show there is not a bracket for plug made onto the hitch.
Diane SOnly one person working the desk. Long line. Guy in the yard was rude. Trailer was dirty and had the stickers peeling off of it. When I turned it in they said that there were scratches on it that were not marked with a sticker. Trailer towed fine and served its purpose.

STEVEN MI was told the cargo van had a hitch. I paid and went out to get van. It had no hitch. So we got the smallest truck. Peggy, the clerk said it was the same price so we'd just trade it out. However it was about $600 more than the original quote. Instead of being under $500 it was over $1000 It was shocking but I had no choice. She said she'd could atleast add a discount since she knew my fiance. However there was no discount given. I do think uhaul clerks need to be better trained and give honest quotes
MELANIE BI was to pick up uhaul at 8am with 24/7 pick up. There was no key in the assigned box, called customer service they were going to give me a different truck but it was blocked in by a truck, so I had to wait until 9 am when store opened. The guy said when he closed the night before he put the key in the wrong box. The truck I was given had clearly been used by someone with roaches. There were dead roaches all inside the back of the truck that I had to sweep out before using and the truck had been sprayed or bombed the smell was so strong. Never had an issue with uhaul in the past but going forward I will have to be cautious and advise others to be as well.

JAMES PAll vehicles should be full of gas period. I bet somewhere along the way you charged someone for fuel. This truck was at 1/4. Very hard to figure out how much to add. The gas light came on quick. This is kinda BS. Fill your trucks to fill.
JEFFREY CI got the rental agreement and the van with no problem. When I was checking the van through the app it had 8 miles more than what was on the agreement and it had 94 miles to empty. I paid for 20 miles however when I returned the truck I did go over by 6 miles. When I check the receipt I was charged for 34 miles and charged $4+ almost $5 for gas. I always take pictures before and after renting. When I returned it it had 123 miles to empty; yet I was charged. I had to call customer service and they said they noticed the pictures from checking in and it was different from the contract and I was given a refund.

I told him that we have a 400lb fridge that we are storing and asked the rep about a down stairs unit. He told me that he only has an upstairs but the Facility has elevators to help you get it upstairs. When we got to the storage unit, we learned there was no storage elevator. I drove 5 hours to find out that I was lied to. Not having any other option by either driving 10 hours (5 to take it back and 5 to drive back to Abilene) or now spend $140 a month for a storage unit. The lady that helped me at the actual facility was nice and helpful as she could be. It was very sad that a rep had to lie to upsell me.

Von H | Overall ExperienceI made an online reservation for a 5' x 5' x 4' Locker for $44.95 on April 5, 2021 with a move in date of May 8, 2021 for my daughter to store her personal items from her college dorm during the summer. When my daughter went to take her things to the UHaul on the afternoon of May 8, 2021, she was told that all of these units were already taken and that aa reservation doesn't "reserve" a storage locker but that it was first come first serve. The only storage locker available was a 5' x 10' x 8', which was $79.99 a month. When we asked about changing the price due to the reservation, we were told to speak to a manager. After over 20 attempts to call the manager and leaving voice messages on both his cell phone and at the store, we had to drive 4 hours to the location in order to speak to anyone about this situation and we still have not spoken to the manager of the store. This is the worst location I have ever dealt with in the 22 years of using Uhaul during my military service.

When I showed up to this location on May 8, 2021 at 4pm, I was told that all of the lockers of this size were already sold and was given the option of 5' x 10' Storage Room at a monthly rate $79.00 or nothing. When I asked about my reservation, I was told that regardless of the reservation it was first come first serve. I have never heard that this policy was used by U-Haul and it would negate the policy of using reservations to "hold" a storage room. After waiting 2 hours, there was only 1 representative working at this time when this location was extremely busy and the representative stopped helping me and made me wait until she had helped the other 7 customers in the store before handling my situation. She ended up giving me the 5' x 10' Storage Room with 1 month free and no solution for June, July, and August.

Next there is a giant mud hole the size of 5 parking spots right in front of my storage building. I left word that you can’t get into my unit with out walking in 4” deep water. Hopefully y’all get this taken care of soon.
Jacob N | First Impressions* No clear instruction on how to gain access to unit before arriving at facility. Had to stand in line for literally an hour (only two other customers ahead of me) to speak to an employee while my moving labor waited outside on the clock. * Employee claimed the online reservation process was pointless, as they only operated under first-come-first-serve. What is the point of reserving a unit through U-Haul if you aren't guaranteed to get it??!! Thankfully a unit was available, but was on the second floor and had no elevator. * After getting my lock and unit number, I had to find an employee to unlock the unit as it still had a "customer-ready" lock on it. * The automatic sliding door by the unloading area was broken. Could only open it by literally pulling the doors apart. I get that I could've arrived on a particularly busy day, and the facility seemed to be very under-staffed. Even so, there needs to be a better process for handling simple equipment returns and storage unit reservation retrievals that doesn't involve waiting in line for an hour as one customer plans their entire move with the only available staff. Overall my experience with every aspect of U-Haul aside from the actual truck rental has been very confusing, and made our move extremely stressful.
