The equipment that I reserved was not there. It was apparently sent to the shop for required maintenance. Although I am happy they sent it to be repaired rather than rent me broken equipment, I don't know why I wasn't informed of this prior to showing up for my rental. They were able to get me the same sized open trailer for the same price and since it was a nice day, worked fine.

NICHOLAS MTerrible experience with staff. Very unhelpful and poor communication. The guy just stared at me when I pulled into the equipment drop-off area. I finally said hello, here is my trailer. He just stared at me and said I had to back out and deliver it to another part of the yard. His tone and demeaner made me feel like I was a bother to him. It would have been helpful if there were better signs alerting trailer renters to know this ahead of pulling up to the tent. The guy was a total jerk the entire time, slamming down the equipment, rolling his eyes when I asked him to help take the tongue off the hitch. Thankfully this is in another state, so I won't need them again, but I also don't recommend this location based on the service I received, or lack of service. I expected better than this.
DAVID CI originally booked a truck trough the Egg Harbor Township location. I was informed the night before they didn't have a truck for me there but I was to pick up a truck in Pleasentville. The location was at a gas station in a very dangerous area. They would not accept payment. I called the customer service number and they took my payment. The location still would not give me the keys. I finally was able to get a truck from the Absecon location. This was a very bad experience.

GARY GDid not have an appliance dolly I had to go and rent one from Home Depot for $35. I only used it for a short while the young man at the counter. I could hardly understand it was constantly on his cell phone even while hitching up the equipment was on his cell phonewas not very helpful in calling around to help me find what I needed. Pretty disappointed in the friendliness, the attended nurse and the professional nurse of the attendant.

Sharon MThe outdoor unit (5x10) I rented was overpriced. I found an indoor storage facility (10x15 ~ NOT climate controlled) for $15 more a month. Do your due diligence and compare pricing in your area.
Virginia W | Overall ExperienceHitch install took longer than usual but I understand because the bolt holes were rusted. excellent job by the mechanic, absolutely polite and kind by the young lady who helped me at the counter. She kept me advised at every point of the install. experience was a pleasure to deal with uhaul and I will be back. The Chevrolet car manufacturer created the problem by not plugging bolt holes to keep the threads clear.

JOSEPH SThe hitch installation looks great, however, I had a 9:30 AM appointment and I went offsite for a little while when I came back. At 10:00 the mechanic had not even started the job yet. I was waiting for the hitch since I did not have a ride and I ended up spending almost 3 hours at the location.

TIMOTHY DMy original call was to the “home” number but could not receive a direct confirmation on the hand truck I at any nearby location. The agent suggested my best option to find one would be at a major U-Haul facility rather than the smaller satellite offices. She offered to make that call for me but I decided that if a reservation should be made I would rather be the one getting a definite answer so I called the local branch. After several rings and no one picking up I was transferred to the “home office” where, again I stated my case. Long story short, the reservation was made and confirmed by email, however when I arrived at the site there was no evidence of the store agent knowing about my reservation. After giving him my order number he checked it out and sure enough, it was there. The problem is that he didn’t know of the truck spoken for prior to my requesting it. Had he sent it out with another customer before my arrival the dolly would not be there and I wouldn’t have the item I reserved. I found it a little annoying that the communication wasn’t better from the home office. Fortunately everything went well and the store agent was very amicable and helpful. Just think keeping the local stores better informed might be a good idea.

CHARLES SRude when I arrived in store. No greeting. I had to speak multiple times for the employees to stop their conversation and acknowledge the customer. Also have several charges on my card that don’t match my receipt. I will never rent here again!

TRAVIS TI rented the 6’x12’ utility trailer with a ramp. What I had to roll up the ramp wasn’t even 5’ wide. And it wouldn’t fit. I had to return the trailer and couldn’t haul what I intended to haul with it. Very disappointed. I will have to spend more $ to rent the utility trailer “without the ramp” to get the job done.

RAFAEL CI had a storage with this company for nearly three years. I never had rodent problems or issues with increasing rents without adding benefits.
CARLOS W | Overall ExperienceThe manager has very short hours and thus, is rarely available to assist. The staff members were lackadaisical and generally unhelpful. Moreover, I was dismayed at the exorbitant fees assessed the one time I was late. A “pre-lien” fee when there is no lien process or procedure underway is incredibly unfair and unsubstantiated. U-Haul incurred no such fee. Nevertheless, i was forced to pay a charge for nothing more than a phantom lien.

Pam restored my faith in mankind with good deeds and actions. On the verge of losing a lifetime accumulation of my household personal property due to a number of unfortunate events including COVID, I found myself homeless after being a homeowner for 30 years. In banking insurance investments and taxation for the last 30 years and self employed for the last 12, shut down and go out of business in 2021. Imagine homeless and without employment after being successful all my life? People shun you in life when things of this nature happen, but not Pam! I have to say if there was ever a company with a heart, it's U-Haul, and Pam Eckert is that heart! She understands this is a people business and not just moving & storage of things business. The world would be a better place with more people like Pam Eckert!

We utilized the free month for college students of a small storage unit. It was greatly appreciated. We got the smallest unit that was offered, which was more than we needed. We were in and out within the 1 month, but I cannot express how invaluable this was as we had 2 college kids moving back into our small home. Thank you UHaul!
