ROBERT RThe mobile pick up is too repetitive and convoluted. It takes way too long to go through the proces and take a million pictures. Why cant a worker just check and take pics in between truck uses if thats necessary? Should be on Uhaul not me to inspect the truck and say its okay for use. Same complaints for return of truck. Make this process simpler. Also it was not as clean as expected when a spider crawled over the dashboard and I needed to pull over for a moment to killl it.

Mahendra BHad a problem with the movers I hired through your app on arrival. The movers did not show up so I had to find an alternative. The local person Phylis at your Coconut Creek location was extremely helpful in helping me with this. I would spend more time vetting the movers that show up on your website. The U-Haul experience was great but soured by the third party mover experience at the end.

ROY NThe self serve Uhaul app experience was not great. I could not find the bar code for the location. Perhaps this barcode should be posted in your equipment return area.
NISHANI NMake the coupler easier to adjust. The uhaul rep was struggling to tighten this correctly even tho my vehicle has a 2 inch ball (a little oil maybe). The roll up door on this trailer was hard to open and noisy in operation, I noticed the rollers on it were badly worn.
Timothy ITruck was parked in a spot I couldn't get it out of, when I asked for some sort of compensation for my time. I was told I'm going to be given which is fine, manager then made it seem like I couldn't get the truck out of the spot when it was impossible to get the truck out of the spot when I suggested to their employee to move the truck out of the spot he said no and when and move the van in front of the truck which then you could drive straight out. Next time I'd like to see their employee move the truck out of the spot that they put me in and expected me the renter to move the truck out of the spot without damaging it.

The staff were extremely unhelpful and seem to love changing their statements. Proven to be quite the dishonest bunch and also not so familiar with uhauls own policies

THOMAS HYoung lady at the counters refused to help me . My phone for some reason will not except Uhaul download. Then said she did not have phone to load my info. I have rented the same type of trailer many many times. So I had to ask an other young lady for help. She had no problems. As for the first lady she now had miraculously found her phone and was helping an other customer. Thanks for waisting my time.
BERNARDES DThe web check-in sucks big time. Saved no time for the wonderful staff that helped me get through it. The truck review part and upload pictures didn't work and wasted my time. Wasn't clear what the purpose and had to go back into store for assistance. The whole process was confusing and frustrating. Thank-you to the awesome staff!

Then our trucks engine light was on when we licked it up , the inside was filthy and the gas was empty!! I would never recommend U-Haul to anyone now !!

shouket kProcess is pretty easy and quick to navigate. Perhaps if there is one thing is to ensure vehicle has at least a half tank of gas so customer doesn't have to worry about heading straight to the nearest gas station after leaving your location. Cheers
Donovan GI didn’t like the entirely online pickup experience. I liked previously being able to go into the store and do the pickup with an employee. Instead, I had to do it online with an employee beside me, walking me through step-by-step. Still required an employee, so didn’t seem to save anybody any time. However, all the employees I spoke with in Ajax were fantastic. Very nice, friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable

Holly HIf I am picking up a rental from a location, i should have to complete my booking on the app, absolutley ridiculious. Secondly the truck got stuck and would not change gears, I drove no more then 20kms in total. Your app is horrible and I would not ever recommend U-Haul to anyone.

WILLIAM MThe online self return shows a bright orange box to return the keys. Ajax storage has no bright orange box to return the keys, it's in the wall of the building but I looked for a bright orange box in -20 for a bit.
Jesse K | Overall ExperienceKim is the major problem out of everything and the “policies” apparently that were incorrect but she tried to persuade us into believing after she ilegally took double payments out of my bank account, with no prior authorization. When this was mentioned, she tried telling me it was her right. The manager for the store has harassed me several times thru phone, email and even trying to make herself scheduled at the store when i’m coming by. And this happened for two years. Oh also, i had custom wood pieces of furniture in the unit hand crafted from my late grandfather, the unit is supposed to be temp controlled and have electricity. Of course they failed to inform me last summer that the power was out for two whole weeks so their electrical chords above my unit and materials along the sides warped into my wood furniture. Which they tried to argue about too. Do yourself a favour and just pick another storage company. There are a ton out there and there a lot cheaper for the same amenities.

Frederick N | Overall ExperienceThe worst experience ever renting my U-Haul truck I had my U-Haul truck rented for 10:30am I get there to do the online check-in mobile it tells me I don’t have a rental. I have to wait on hold for over an hour to find out the keys for the truck stolen. Then I have to find a new truck. I already paid for the moving crew U-Haul from 11:30 to 2:30 by the time I got there after getting my truck was 2:00 And nobody is willing on reimbursing me for the mess up that was made that I paid the moving crew for the time to help me unload my storage unit and get it in my house. I had to do that all by myself to get in my house, not happy at all.

LILLIAN V | Overall ExperienceMy journey with uhaul started August 22,2024 with a rental 5X8 trailer on a one way to oshawa in which i booked in advance and i was given the offer of a month free rental storage unit. When i was ready to pick up trailer there was none available of course i was notified of this at the last minute and i was then told that if i wanted a trailer it could only be a the one under a 5x8 and i would have to pick it up in either bellville or brockville which was obviously not at all convient as i said this was told to me very last minute, the lady i spoke with on the phone had know care in the world it was not her problem, being that moving is already a stressful time and i had booked this well in advance i was very upset,and also due to the fact iwas going to be a month later renting another trailer from uhaul to relocate out of province so good money i am spending at uhaul. I had to then rent a truck 10x? in which i had to arrange someone to drive my car as i had to now drive the truck another inconvience. this was all from the Kingston location and i believe your scheduling department in Ottawa. Once getting to storage which was farther then oshawa another inconvience as they had lnow storage so off to Ajax i had to go. Once at Ajax i put my things in storage and booked a one way 5x8 trailer for my next move to Nova Scotia, i had to leave my things in storage a few days longer then expected a few days and they then charged me for a whole month which was 190.00 dollars, so now i have paid more for a truck because there was know trailer which was booked ahead and now i am paying for a month extra for keeping my things in storage a few days longer in which i notified them in advance of that as well. So was my service good at a very stressful time, i am pretty sure you can figure out that know not at all, were the people at the counter at the ajax facility nice yes but with no alternatives or care how much more i spent or all the inconviences uhaul created for me, the communication within uhaul is horrible, and customer service is the worst as a good paying customer with a big move i was not impressed i think compensation should have giving to me in this whole ordeal. She is a great prospect for U-Haul for greater roles - I always rented the moving trucks with U-Haul and has it pretty much an annual thing for me. I must say Punati was professional, patient, and very considerate. Saleq at Ajax U-Haul location was also very helpful, patience, professional and considerate. They both have won my trust with U-Haul for future. I have had bad previous experiences with how the customers are spoken with, the dominant voice and sarcastic responses. I think these two are GEMS.

I feel the penalties for late payments are ridiculously high and the letter sent out threatening to taking your belongings is extremely upsetting, especially for someone like me who suffers with severe mental and medical ailments. Remember your dealing with some people who are depressed and suicidal. I would appreciate ifsomeone from head office can call me at 416 885 9104 asap so I can elaborate on the effects on me and get some reassurance rather than multiple, very negative letters, via mail and email several times a week.

It's unnaceptable that I bring my 15' U-Haul on My scheduled moving day and there's a bunch of sedans parked directly infront of the unloading area preventing me from parking my vehicle and making unloading somewhat easy. Other than that my experience was great the guy at the counter was very helpful and allowed me to pull my truck up onto the grass as no spots were available to park. Please correct this or you will have many unsatisfied customers and possible vandalism issues at hand.

I was called the day before my move out of city to be told that I had to return the truck within 24 hours. Ajax storage was actually able to extend it to 48 hours, but the traffic on the way back to the unit on Saturday took three hours to get through, then three hours to get back home That was a six hour waste of time after a full day of unloading a truck When I asked, for some sort of compensation, Kim sent me an email saying that “my invoice was correct and nothing was going to be done for the inconvenience” I hope that I never move again as U-Haul added so much stress to my moving day that I would rather pay a Moving Company, then go with U-Haul ever again

I only hold up 2 units currently and they are fully paid, and today i got email from Kim Jesson and claiming i own Uhaul money for the third unit, which i never rent it bofore, she charged me late fee for that unit. This is ridiculous and when i called for assistance to clear the situation, the girl who answered the phone was very rude and just transferred me to customer service and made me wait another 45 minutes. I just wasted an hour on things Uhaul made mistake on. This is not right. and still no one has fixed my problem yet. Just kept transferring to different departments and kept me wait.

There is a very obvious lag in communication between what is actually happening here and the late notices received weeks later. I have a credit card on file when I first arranged storage. I was not advised that auto payment was an option, I assumed that it would be the payment for monthly service. The person who set me up did not say anything. I then received a late notice and contacted the facility, the charge was removed. I was placed on auto payment, to my knowledge. I think received another late notice. I called again. My emergency contact also received a late notice and then I was frustrated. I called again and the person I spoke with did not listen to anything I said. She spoke over me, blaming the computer and basically blaming me for changing units. All of this in a matter of 2 months. Four notices in 2 months for no reason. My credit card was there the whole time and somehow she wanted to blame me. I went in yesterday to change the unit to a smaller one and the girl there was fabulous. I asked her to ensure that the autopayment was set up. She confirmed and was helpful. It's obvious to me that the US head office is not in the same time.zone and not on top of what is happening in reality. This represents poor customer service and ultimately cause unnecessary conflict here. I don't blame the staff here, but rather then place blame on the customer in this situation, the head office should provide a follow call to apologize for the time issues then place that on the staff here. It's unfortunate that this happens but very irresponsible of the company in the US

gracelyn c | Overall ExperienceI rented a UHaul van from this location and was very pleased with the van rental process. Everything about the van rental process here was great! It was convenient to store my things at the same location that I had to return the van. Staff at this location were friendly and provided excellent customer service. I appreciated them walking me through the access protocol, particularly since their shift was ending. Also, I felt confident about the security measures at this location. My one concern though was that there was a poision trap box for rodents, right in my unit. There was a label on the trap box saying advising not to touch it due to poision. I understand that all storage facilities, regardless of how fancy they look, must put rodent/pest control measures in place and I appreciate that the facility addressing the issue of pest control. However, I was concerned about the posion from the trap coming into contact with my belongings. I also was concerned that the trap might lure rodents into my unit, and that on the way they might nibble on my belongings. Not sure if the latter is a valid concern or not, but it did cross my mind.

He was unhurried, really took his time to answer all my questions and provided a great deal of help. My original storage space was too small, and the storage space I ended up using is too large but he did provide help and information in a proper size unit (unfortunately that size is not available at this location). He explained everything to me and again was exceptional with his attention and help he provided. Thank you to him. Only negative i can think of, because part of the system was down (debit card), i was not able to set up automatic withdrawl in a monthly fashion for my unit.
Edward R | First ImpressionsI wasn’t too impressed with the last couple of months with uhaul. I had this locker for almost three year and it was always an issue trying to get in to access my locker and then when finally inside there always happens to be an extra lock on my locker! Usually it’s because of not receiving payment which I make sure it was on an auto renew, or this new one stating that you need a disk lock to be put onto your locker. The last Friday of October I got a driver and a truck to be able to empty my storage by the tie I got to my storage there was an extra lock I couldn’t take off and the uhaul staff just went home for the day. So I had to wait until I could go in in person after calling three times explaining the situation which no one cared for pay for any other driver just to get them to finally take this lock off. Was the worst hassle I had to go through and the worst part was is that the lock I had I bought at the uhaul store which they are still selling so what was the point so restraining me and costing me more money for no reason when it was a uhaul lock. I’ll never put my stuff in a uhaul again.

When I got the truck rental I called in and asked if I could get the free storage promotion that was advertised. The operator said I could and reviewed both the truck and storage reservation and confirmed this. However when I got to the store they advised since I am not dropping off the truck at the store I would not get my first month free. If I would have known this I would have asked to drop the truck off or go with access storage which gave me the same unit size for half the price. I will call in to customer service tomorrow but would love if you could assist me. As well it looks like my access code does not work so I had trouble actually accessing the unit. The guys at the storage facility were great though and helped me out with that.

Mark R | Overall ExperienceThe staff and management was great. However it should be noted that the booking process is frustrating. I had reserved a 5x5x7 unit which was $99 a month and met my needs. Someone from uhaul (can’t recall the name) called to confirm that I still needed the unit, I confirmed I did and was told a unit would be available. When I arrived on Saturday oct 31 for my check in I was told the unit I had reserved was not available and I’d have to take a larger more expensive unit. This is a bit of a bait and switch from a customer stand point. Again, no fault of the staff, but this should be something that’s ironed out from a customer experience standpoint on the website to allow for only what’s available to be booked or reserved. I’d rather get the value for what I’m paying for rather than be told I have to take a more expensive unit or find another location all together.

They do not have prorated rates and if u need to move out early this is very inconvenient. Late charges were also charged to my card because someone forgot to put the card number on file, when I tried discussing this with the managers for months all she did was send me generic emails including the extra charges on the bill. She is very unprofessional and rude. I would never store again at this facility I was there for over a year and have moved my things to a better facility that offers a free truck with move out.

When my reservation date was nearing I needed to complete my rental contract and wanted to do that online. One of the reasons why I selected U-Haul was because they said that you could complete the rental of the unit online, which was important to me as I was out of the country and could not do it in person. I tried completing it via the website on my desktop, on my mobile, I downloaded the app, I checked every page, clicked on every link. I could not find where I could complete my rental. I wrote several emails to the customer service, who were not helpful. One sent me a link to an internal, employee page on uhaul.net when I asked for instructions on completing the rental online. Eventually when I got a hold of someone on the phone at the storage unit facility (the first time I got transferred to the generic 1-800 number, and that person couldn't help me) they told me that the unit I had reserved was not available and that was probably why I could not complete my rental online. I then had to take a larger unit than I needed and pay more money than I budgeted because by that time I had no choice. So what is the point of reserving a unit if it does not mean the unit is actually RESERVED? I would rather pay a downpayment to hold a unit in advance than to be told on the day I am ready for it that it's not available. What is the point of a reservation?? And on top of that, no indication whatsoever on my reservation that the unit was not available, so that I could at least look somewhere else or at another location if possible. Extremely frustrating service.
