Mark GI only would recommend this location because it is large and well stocked. The employees were sleeping at the front desk! When I arrived no one came outside at the drop-off area to help as the signage indicated because they were sleeping at the desk when I finally walked into the building. The person who eventually helped me was rude and of no help and made me remove the trailer and park it in a spot myself. I initially did not receive an email drop-off notice (later got it 1 hour after) and when I went inside the now awake desk person struggled to pay attention to me versus the person they were Facetiming. Completely unacceptable for any customer let alone one that has rented several trailers recently.
JAMES GUpon arrival I pulled into the area that said “Equipment Return”. No one came out so I went into the store which was clean. I asked the representative what I needed to do and he rudely stated go park it over by the other trailers. It was raining and he didn’t even come out to help. When I came in to get confirmation of having checked in the trailer he rudely asked why I needed a receipt. When I told him that I wanted something showing I had returned the trailer with the blankets he said “Whatever”. Then he had another lady in the facility to give a receipt. They never verified the blankets were returned as they were in the trailer. Overall it was a horrible experience.
GREGORY MI reserved the 10-footer and when I got to the place they told me they had none available and upgraded me to a 15-footer at a more cost I don't think that's right at all I was disappointed in that only because I had to pay more
GEORGE BI paid for a 10×10 room and rented a truck. I used cash so I made the deposit. Upon placing my deposit I was informed that if this particular location didn't have my deposit money when I returned the truck they would give me a check. Unfortunately I returned the equipment the next day and they did not have my deposit money so I asked for the check. It was at this point in time the manager stated that they would have to mail my check in 7-10 business days. I explained how that was not possible. The manager said he would call as soon as he had the deposit money. Never received the call. Called customer service and they attempted to contact the manager to no success. Customer service left a note on my account for the manager to call me. Didn't receive a call. I ended up showing back up to this same location and spoke with the manager. After realizing the manager was more interested in his cell phone than helping me - I just ask for him to send the check. The manager did not help me at all. The day I came to the store for the truck and storage the manager wasn't helpful at all that day neither. The store clerk obviously did not know how to rent a storage unit, so he kept asking the manager for help. He ask him on several occasions for help but the manager was to busy on his cell phone to actually provide the assistance the clerk needed. I repeatedly asked for a 10×10 storage unit. I paid for a 10×10 unit, but to my surprise, I pack my truck up and make it to the storage unit just to realize they assigned me to a 5×10 unit. Thankfully I was able to catch them before they closed. But unfortunately they couldn't sell me a 10×10 unit without sending me to another location, so I was forced to accept 2 smaller units. All of this could have been prevented if the manager would have helped the clerk like he asked.

DAVID SArrived to get a truck and utility dolly to move a washer and dryer. Handed the key for the truck and the person pointed to where it was on the lot. I asked about a furniture dolly. Was immediately told that they did not have any and I would have to go to (they listed three other locations miles away) to see if they do. Oh but they have two box dolly you can buy for more than it costs at a home improvement store, now that you’re stuck because it said they have them online. When you point this out, their answer is that it says we have them online because we carry them in the store. Well can I get one then? We don’t have any. Gave up and bought a dolly that was absolutely the wrong type for moving heavy appliances and went to get the truck. The truck was parked at an angle, very close to another truck and I didn’t want to clip that other truck backing it out so asked them to move it. They didn’t appear happy to have to do that.
JENNIFER PEquipment was clean however the surge brakes need repaired or adjusted. Once I had the vehicle on the auto transport it was very hard to stop. I have used U-Haul auto transports several times; this was not normal.

After parking and disconnecting the trailer I came inside to check-in my return. Two employees were at the counter with no other customers in the store. One was on the phone the other was not. Neither one acknowledged my presence. Nobody said "hello" or "we'll be with you soon". They were content to ignore me and do nothing. I stood there for 5 minutes and finally walked out. What the heck is wrong with people these days? They don't understand common courtesy?

PABLO VI was charged a convenience fee of $20 upon return? I dropped it off, same day, as a convenience for U-Haul. Upon arrival, i attempted to use the scan feature to verify the correct drop-site and vehicle mileage/gas. This would not work. It was an error in the app, not my phone. When I used the "unable to scan" feature, I was prompted to lock the vehicle and place key in drop-slot. Why should I be charged for this?

DONALD WWe arrived at 9 to pick up a trailer and didn't leave until after 10. When we first arrived, there was only one person working and a line of customers. The second person arrived 20-30 minutes later, calling loudly "I overslept" when walking through the door. He started our pickup transaction. He reeked of alcohol. He didn't follow through on meeting us at the trailer. The lady came out and helped us when she realized we were still waiting. The trailer we were originally given had broken running lights. We were eventually set up with a working trailer and able to leave an hour later. The return went quick and easy as the lady took care of us right away. I believe the experience would have been casually improved with two competent workers. If someone was looking to rent a uhaul, this location has a large amount of vehicles and options, so I would mention it, but I would also tell them about our experience so that they can plan ahead.
CHRISTINE CThe truck we got seemed to be in poor condition. The transmission was doing weird things (revving randomly and making noise), and the truck rattled and creaked like it was about to break while we drove it. It made so much noise driving that it was hard to hold a conversation in the cab. The cab was incredibly dirty and surfaces were sticky and the interior smelled like tobacco smoke and weed. The employee that checked us in seemed to be a new hire and was uncommunicative and slow (he kept getting distracted and was having several side conversations while doing our check-in and so the whole process took longer than it needed to). He mostly ignored us and didn't listen during the check-in process and he was openly rude to another employee who was a woman and who seemed responsible for training him. The other three employees we interacted with were totally fine and agreeable including the woman who seemed responsible for training the guy who checked us in.

WILLIAM KThe gas is consistently below what it says on the contract and we have had issues where the people at the desk did not execute the contracts in the way that we asked how they said they did. Generally at least moderately clean, but we have several times ended up with the same truck that has the same broken pieces in the back every time.

ERIC SRobert C. Checked me in. He has the personality of a rock. No greeting, no eye contact, just very matter of fact. In my opinion,he shouldn't work with the public, he may be better suited sweeping out the storage units. The young lady that checked me out was very very friendly, personable and just all around lovely. Not just with me, her interaction with other customers was the same. She is the reason the above average was given. The store was clean and maintained.
KAREN GWhen I tried to pick up the truck, I had to go into the store to get the app to work. The guy in the store was no help. When I finally found the truck, I did not get the furniture pad or the dolly I had ordered. I didn’t think to check the truck until I got it home. Now I can’t get a refund on the dolly. Not a very good experience at all.

ADAM AThe vehicle stunk but was clean looking. The seat was broken down. There was no knob to be able to roll the window down on the driver side. It sounded terrible when I started it. I went in because the check engine light was on and was told the check engine light or low tire light is on most of these so if you break down call this 800 number and they should help you. The woman that checked me out when I dropped the truck off was very friendly.

ROBERT B | First ImpressionsI have no suggestions for improvement. Once I made my presence known to the folks working in the adjacent shop areas, they quickly and politely unhooked the trailer, closed my account and got me on my way.
ROBERT SThey said the gas gauge was at 1/4 tank but it was clearly below that when I got in. And I had to get gas almost immediately which really sucked. That being said, I put in $30-$40 more in fuel than what I actually needed to. Since I didn’t know how much it would use. Wish they had a rebate system for that since when you go below what they had it at you get charged an arm and a leg.
JOSHUA SThe truck had some cigarette ashes in it, the back of it smelled like weed, the windshield wiper blade was not working. No cell phone charger. The truck was on 1/4 tank when I got it so I had to think about getting gas right away. But, overall it was o.k. It's U-Haul, not a Rolls Royce. The lady when I checked the truck back in was very nice. I'd use them again.
JOHN LEmployees should have better customer service/communication skills or at least have some training in how to conduct yourself in a work place. Your employees represent you! Just because we live in Akron doesn't mean we have to be a stereotype, we are better than that.
MADELINE HTruck said oil change needed Truck automatically set to tow gear so lower MPG. Staff was the worst I’ve ever encountered at U-haul. They were constantly on their phones, never smiled, no U-Haul fear to distinguish them, and they weren’t nice.

DENISE TRepresentative was extremely rude and unhelpful. Treated me like I was an inconvenience to them. I made a reservation for a 20 foot truck and he tried to pass a 26 foot truck to me and refused to honor the reservation I made for the 20 foot truck so ultimately I had to work with someone else. Literally one of the rudest human beings I have ever met. Texting on his phone while he was supposed to ring me out, was very vague on location of truck, I get he couldn’t walk out and show me with other customers in line. But maybe point to the location or describe where it’s parked instead of highlighting a piece of paper and shoving it in my face and having me walk out in 20 degree weather to read illegible markings on the ground. Moving is honestly stressful enough and this person made it a 1000 times worse. I would have been better off with self serve so I didn’t have to deal with him. Also, I reserved a dolly and he was like well we don’t have one and you’re going to have to go to another uhaul if you want one. Just literally the worst experience with uhaul ever.
SUSAN KThe plug on the trailer i rented was damaged and the right turn signal didn't work but the person who hooked up my trailer didn't mention that. I noticed when i left and got a notification from my truck saying that a bulb was out. The woman who checked me out may have said a total of 4 words the entire time I was there, she was thrilled to be working.

JAMES PGas gauge was not where it was when I got in the vehicle as to what was on the paper. Tire pressure low light on. Tried to call from the parking lot and was put on hold for more than 5 minutes, so just left with the tire light on. Should have been told about it or company should have rectified. Was not acknowledged when first came in the door. Gentleman taking in the vehicles upon return was very nice and helpful. I felt bad for him as he had about 7 vehicles in line to get turned in.
TERRI OTerrible!! There was a blunt/joint stepped on in the truck the trucks are so dirty inside you can tell they don’t get wiped and definitely get smoked in on the regular. They drive terrible. Location parking lot was nothing but ice surrounding the inside we skated until we got to the door they could have put salt down. No dolly’s even though the boy told the women they were in the cage she didn’t want to go look you could tell so she just said they weren’t in there. Then she answered her personal phone in the middle of helping me loudly and abruptly “who’s calling Tina to stress me out more today” I’m guess she was the manager either way service terrible I think her name was Tina I’m not sure. Bringing it back those the girl super nice super friendly.

They seemed bothered by having to do their job, and tried to pass off as much responsibility as possible to me (moving the vehicle again, using the app for checkout, etc.). The truck was also not clean inside (I swept up a lot of dust, dirt, leaves, etc.) and had garbage in the cab.

THOMAS PI waited for several minutes in the equipment drop-off area and nothing happened. Finally I went inside (during heavy snow) and the staff yelled through a closed door that I needed to go around the building to another entrance. After getting there, they told me someone had already come out to meet me and I could return to my vehicle. Then the person guided me to park the trailer in a snow-covered lot with no vehicle traction. Not a positive experience overall. They also charged me an additional day for being a couple hours later than expected due to heavy snowfall making travel impossible any earlier.
RILDE LInside of the trailer was a bit dirty. Also, the tie-down d-rings were not all present. One tie-down was broken and there was a bolt rolling around inside the trailer. Overall I made it work.

CHRISTOPHER BIt all started when I reserved a 20foot trailer and was suppose to get a call or email prior to my pickup date which was suppose to be When I entere12/28/2024. The lady that helped me had put in 1/28/2025. I did not catch this so that is why I never received anything. I call in 12/27/2024 to check why I hadn't heard anything. So the lady said the date issue and she said someone would call me by 6pm that same night. I never heard anything so I called at 7pm and they said they did not have a truck but gave me a 26footer for the same price. When I came in at 7am on the 28th the lady never even greeted me. I gave her my last name. She had a terrible attitude from the beginning. She asked where I was going and I said to a storage unit in Williamston. She was upset she had to redo something, so she never spoke to me again. It was absolutely the worst customer experience I have ever had period. I will never come back to the V Odom location again. If someone would like to call me they can. The lady was more interested in smoking her cigar that taking care of a customer. My copy of the contract was not even signed. It says Tasha J. The gentleman in Williamstown where Tasha had said there wasn't a drop off there was very nice and helped a lot. He was excellent Hos name was John Koontz. There is more to this story but The lady that disrespected me in V Odom should be reprimanded or fired. I'm sure this isn't her first problem with her attitude.

I may just call them and let them know what has happened.it took me 4 times for them to get my information right in the system. At one point they lost me. I got held up 2 hours from getting my stuff placed in storage and had to rent the truck longer. In turn just costed me another 100 bucks.

Your paperwork shows that I can park vehicles for an additional $25 by having a unit. I currently have the boat stored about 20 miles or so away from here in Ravenna, Ohio. I live, probably a mile and a half from this facility. That was one of the reasons I switched to this location to be able to store my boat, but I found out that that wasn’t possible. I still am relocating, however, from Storage Of America to a unit with U-Haul.

I hired a moving company to move me out and they couldn’t even get to my unit because of all the wrecked Uhaul vehicles strung out everywhere. When the service manager was asked to have the vehicles moved, he refused causing a delay in the company I hired to move me from getting the job done! If it weren’t for the awesome ladies of the rental/storage department going above and beyond to help get the vehicles moved, I would’ve incurred extra time charges from the moving company. As much as they helped, I’m still going to have to say that I will not be recommending this location to anyone.

I got your truck and 2 days later came down with covid. Had truck 18 days but communicated with you. Made it to Akron and being still sick could not go further. Changed destination from Georgia to Akron and was charged $800 plus and then $1,700 plus To go 200 miles. You could give no consideration to me for uncontrollable sickness. I was raped by U-Haul. All thru pandemic I did my part but so many took advantage an we're unethical. The kid that checked me in was rude and disrespectful. Can't prove it 100% per say but was harassed by some staff and experienced gang stocking. Have pictures of cars at U-Haul were same cars following me. Was advised by attorney to move my belongings to different storage company but they are all the same. I think inside my unit was being video taped - and I am not being paranoid. Almost on every arrival, a siren would go off saying I was trust passing and enter the code and saying I was being video taped. Approached management but they were no help from beginning to end of my stay. Complained about all the cuts in the fence. 5. I came in winter. The units are old and dirty. I left it cleaner than when moved in. 6. 3 different people told me they had stuff missing. I am ocd and noticed things moved in my unit. So, between possible theft and the harassment, NO I would not recommend to someone I cared for.

Also, it would have been extremely nice if there were dumpsters available to put trash in (possibly even just a recycle pile for boxes/cardboard, papers, etc.) especially since I felt that the monthly cost was high and it would be a reasonable service to provide.

QUESETTA B | Online Move InOn a trip to storage noticed mouse droppings. I mentioned it to staff who put some poison in. When I went and removed all belongings a short time later there was mouse droppings in everything. Apparently what they use for rodent control doesn’t work very well.

One employee answered her personal phone in the middle of helping a customer after the customer waited in line for almost an hour. I had a reservation for 1:00 I did not leave the facility until 3:40. The employees were arguing with eachother in front of the full line of customers also there was no manger on the shift. All 3 employees abandon the inside of the store multiple times. This occurred on May 30,2020
