WILLIE A | First ImpressionsWhen my husband called to make the reservation, he made the reservation for the location in Oak Lawn. When he arrived there, they told him the reservation was for the location in Alsip. He went to Alsip only to find out their system was down and that he could not pick it up. We tried calling on and off for the next few hours, but nobody was able to tell us whether their system was back up. We had the same trouble the next morning and decided to drive to the location at the time they opened to find out they were up and running, so it all worked out. My only suggestion would be that if phones are rerouted to another call center, that they be able to tell customers what is going on.

MARK COur agent was amazing! She hooked us up to a trailer and diagnosed a problem very quickly. She had us switch over to another trailer. We were on our way. When we returned our trailer. Our agent removed the trailer. This is the first time I haven't had to touch the trailer. I highly recommend this facility.

MARK CCheck the trucks before renting. The truck I used had a crack and leak in the wall, my bed and some boxes were soaked from the rain. I mentioned it to the employee, he said thank you for informing him and that was it. No apology or even a discount was offered.

BARRY BIm very upset with the way I was treated with the reservation til the day I dropped off the equipment. first I had to go to a different facility to pick everything up. then I was told I had to return the truck and trailer at 2 different locations and no extra day free of charge or extra miles were offered. not even I discounted rate to do your job on my moving day. moving days are stressful as it is and was even more stressful with the service I got. finally was able to get the guy to understand that I had no one with me to follow me to drop off equipment and give me a ride back to my house. So finally I got the okay to drop everything off in Washington Indiana then someone called me Saturday telling me I don't have permission to drop anything off in Washington cause lot is full. I don't like being bullied. I get to the lot in Washington and there's only a few trucks there wide open parking lot. I HATE BEING LIED TO!!! I really need someone to call me back. JOSEPH Hthe computers were working, I had to wait for about 45 min to get the van, it was really upsetting because my son and grand kids were waiting to help me. I asked if i could just sign on paper and they said NO. Probably will NEVER go back.
BARBARA MI think the extra fee (1.09 to 1.49) for mileage for Friday and Saturday is a little excessive, why not 10 to 20 cents extra or do away with it........ I almost didn't rent a van when I was told this. But I will only rent Sunday - Thursday when possible. Thanks

There were weeds overgrown everywhere, I had 2 couch cushions and a stack of rotting particle board waiting for me that no one cleaned up. When I arrived there was a Uhaul truck parked right by the entrance and I waited about 45 minutes after asking for it to he moved so I had clearance to safetly enter the facility. After waiting i was told that no one at work had the appropriate license to move the truck. Thankfully I was able to barely squeeze in without damaging anything. Overall bad experience.

I recd a call back and while speaking, was disconnected, the service person never called back, and I had to go through the process again. It took me 3 x’s, and never got to an Alsip manager. It was very frustrating and a waste of time. They never did resolve the reason I called. Prices on storage keep going up, if you store for any length of time, it becomes costly. I don’t think it’s necessary, and no reason is given for the increase.

The out of state movers we used were very impressed with the availability of moving carts that made the move of our items seamless. Only problem faced was of my doing. I originally thought my belongings would all fit into a 5x5 unit which I had secured the later part of April. Early morning on the day of the move I thought again about the space and rented another 5x5 unit. Good thing I did as I did require more space. If I had been a little bit more realistic about the space I could have just rented a 5x10 unit. But as I said that was my problem and had nothing to do with Uhaul.

I had originally just rented one unit (5x5) and then the day of furniture delivery rethought the space and decided to rent another unit (5x5). Renting the second unit online was seamless and I was lucky to get the second unit on the same floor and area as the first. The provided moving carts made unloading the moving truck for the movers easy and efficient. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for storage needs. May I say agin how professional and thorough Diana was at explaining the process.

I needed a place where I could park my work truck and plug it in over night, receive orders (packages delivered by UPS) and store everything that I need to store safely and conveniently in temperature controlled environment. The staff here at U-Haul Alsip made me feel welcome. They were friendly and more then accommodating. The whole facility, (from the main building, storage lockers, office and parking lot) ,is well maintained and clean. The are many storage facilities around, however, if you want peace of mind knowing your personal and or professional needs for storage are met then I HIGHLY recommend using U- Haul in Alsip IL.

I was disappointed by two surprises-1) taxes were nearly 20% and 2) free first month storage promotion does not apply to vehicle/RV storage. I would understand these if I knew upfront when making the reservation online. However, neither of those items were communicated, and in fact, in my confirmation email, my first month balance due was $0 and my rent payment was 20% less than what I’m having to pay. Things that would have been good to know while I was deciding. Taxes are way too high and are ridiculous.
