SHARON PThe experience was horrible. We initially were not provide the furniture dolly that was paid for and had to return to the location. Only to still not receive our furniture blankets that were paid for. Once we arrived at our destination with the truck loaded, we realized the truck was leaking in multiple spots from the ceiling. Rain water was covering most of our belongings.

Rented from Uhaul previous evening in my town with location that had no office or human. Spent an hour trying to get truck. The code for lock wouldn't work! Had to cancel rental! Will never deal with a location without office or human again!!! So Thankful for the Wonderful Service at this location in Louisville!!!! Best Service Ever!

ELAINE E | Overall ExperienceThe Collins Ln store manager was great. I had a bad experience overall with U-Haul. I was supposed to rent a truck at the Lyndon KY store reserved for 7am pickup. The store manager there never arrived to open the store; I waited 30 minutes before calling the 800 number. The phone reps were great and found the Collins Ln store that had the equipment I needed, but by then I was over an hour behind schedule because of the Lyndon store manager.

Joyce DI was told there wasn’t a truck available for me at this location day of my rental and that I would need to drive 30 minutes away to pick one up. I call back to the same location 10 minutes later and am told that there is a truck. I go to pick up the truck and the one they want to give me has “too many codes” to hand off to me, so they go in the back and get another one. My big problem was that it was obvious they had several trucks to give to me but initially tried to send me to a different state to pick one up. My belief is that it was because I was dropping the truck off 2 hours away and not bringing it back to this location. The initial guy I talked with said that right now is a busy time for them in town. I would imagine if I left him down a truck it would impact his bottom line. At the end of the day it worked out and I got what I needed from the location I wanted… was just frustrating at first when I thought I was going to have to coordinate that day to drive 30-45 minutes to get the UHaul and have someone to drive my vehicle back home.

I had requested a furniture dolly and furniture pads and none of these were available in the location, it was a bit frustrating because when I was moved to this location (due to my other location not being available) I was not made aware of this so it was a bit harder to move everything.

David WAttendant/clerk late to location and had to wait on him to arrive during scheduled store open hours. Other folks in line waiting also by the time he arrived. Attendant expressed frustration with so many people (about 4) there at the same time which was mostly due to HIM BEING LATE! INCREDIBLE!. Truck was actually fine and worked perfectly. Tried to return vehicle during scheduled work hours but no one was there again and lights were out. On line return process doesn't work at all(no store barcode anywhere to be found outside at location) which is needed per instructions. Complete exercise in frustration!!!!!!! Next time he won't have to worry about having too many paying customers because I'll be at Hertz or Lowe's to rent my next truck.

EARLINA H | First ImpressionsThe location is very convenient, the interior of the store was clean and well maintained. The person working was very helpful and took care of us quickly. The truck itself needs some attention, the inside could have used a wipe down, but more importantly the check engine light was on, a notice to inflate a tire was on, and when I would break the truck would pull to the left. Thankfully we just needed it to move a bed, so it wasn’t a large project or lots of miles, but it felt a little treacherous when operating. Eventually I got used to turning the steering wheel to the right when I would break to keep the truck steady, but as mentioned it could use some attention before future renters.
Krystal AThe business hours began at 7am and the owner didn't arrive until 7:15. The truck had a problem with the hydroboost system which negativity affected the power steering and brakes. The brake warning light came on several times. The truck also had a misfire which caused it to burn substantially more fuel and have drivabilty issues.

Joey QOverall a great experience! Everything was superb! The owner is kind and helpful and assisted with all my inquiries in a timely manner and handled things professionally! The only thing preventing this review from being five stars is a lack of utility such as a dolly to put boxes/furniture on that could be used to move items with less physical burden across the facility. Being on the second floor for storage is a pain, but not having a device to help move the more awkward and bulkier items made it more of a hassle.

We had our RV stored at this facility long before U-Haul bought out the private owner. Things have steadily gone downhill under U-Haul’s ownership. Last year, one of their employees ran into and damaged our motorhome. They DID contact us and the damage was repaired at their expense. However, recently someone broke into their “secure” facility and did over $1000 of damage trying to break into our rig. U-Haul washed their hands of it and stonewalled our attempts to have them repair the damage. We paid to be in a secure facility. If that security is breached, how is that our fault? Under these conditions, we would have been just as well off parking in an open field. We will NEVER deal with this facility again. We cannot recommend it to anyone. We gave them 1 star only because of the years we spent under the private ownership. U-Haul deserves no more than a ZERO.

We relocated from our original site to another which was more convenient for our needs which became a check-out/check-in situation for their bookkeeping. The staff member, Jesus, that worked this out for us was super helpful and friendly. We’ve still got some bugs to work out but we’re sure that our needs will be satisfied. Our only negative comment relates to several old cars that have been there for many years that aren’t well maintained and some renters that leave old furniture and other debris around their sites.

We travel a lot and our motorhome is away for a couple of months at a time. The people behind our site have many pieces of old furniture and other debris which overflowed into our site while we were away. At one time, there was an obvious hole torn in the perimeter fence which would allow entry to outsiders. With all of that said, we checked out of the site we’ve had for nearly 8 years to move into another site which was more convenient for our storage needs.

When I showed him that I did using the app, he asked if it was for the storage facility where we were even through it clearly said the correct name. He again insisted his computer didn’t show that I had a unit. I asked if they had a unit 422 which was what my app had listed. He said they did and I asked him to check if I was listed as the renter. He said I was but didn’t explain how I could get into the unit. He said the unit wouldn’t be locked but when we got back with the truck to unload it was locked. They had to change the unit I had, and I had to get a bigger one since no other 10X10 unit was available outside. It was really ridiculous.

David L | Overall ExperienceOn August 8-30-21, I & asked Summer when I had to be out to avoid another months rent. She said 9-1-21. On 8-31-21, I called Summer about UHaul truck prices & decided I needed a 10 ft truck at .69 cents/mile. On 9-1-21, I called & asked Summer if I needed to pay over the phone to hold the truck & she said no it would be there. Later on arrival, she said the 10 Ft. truck was gone & only had 17 ft truck available, which was twice the amount I was expecting. So then she redid it & said I could use the 15 ft truck if I could have it back by 9 am on 9-2-21, & I said ok. Later I looked at the receipt which said to return it by 10 pm the same night, So that made my friends have to rush to get things done as we were expecting to return it at 9 am on 9-2-21. Therefore, I feel like I should be given an additional $10 credit for truck. Also. on the storage unit rental, she was trying to charge me another month for September, but I reminded her that she had told me on 8-30-21 that I had until 9-1-21, so she did correct that. That was the whole purpose of renting a uhaul truck to move out & NOT have to pay another months storage rent. So I told her if I was getting charged for September then to cancel the truck rental, so she said she would correct it. Summer was very nice but commented it must be her pregnant brain messing up everything. So I just wanted to make sure U-Haul management knows the situation that occurred. It also took a lot of time to check the truck in & out.

Samuel M | First ImpressionsHorrible company. After UHaul took over from the previous company, Aladin Self Storage I received notice my auto payment was disconnected. I contacted UHaul to reset my auto payment. I called,emailed, texted and messaged UHauls customer service. After two months I finally made contact, they told me I didn't have a storage unit. I assured them I did, after more than an hour they said they had my auto payment set back up. The following month nothing came out of my account. Again I started attempting to contact them. After another two months attempting contact, I finally was able to speak with them regarding the invoice I had received that was SEVERAL hundred more than it should have been. The again told me I didn't have a storage unit nor an account with UHaul. After that I DROVE 16 hours from south Florida to Louisville KY. I went to clean out the unit. They allowed me ONE day access to the unit for one months payment which I authorized. I cleaned out as much as I could in the one day and left. After I left I saw they had charged my account for the one month AND 3 additional months that were not accurate. By the time I noticed I was already back in Florida so I asked a family member to clean out the rest and sell it. Unfortunately, UHaul decided to deny my family access even with my approval, code and phone giving authorization UNLESS my family member paid additional money (although my account was completely paid current and they couldn't explain the extra charges). Horrible experience, horrible customer service, they WILL charge your account without authorization and the WILL keep your stuff for auction after they've finished with your account. Do NOT use this company.
JEREMY B | Overall ExperienceOverall poor experience. I rented a 26’ truck and 6-12 trailer. Over 1000 mile move. Tje truck rental was outstanding. The storage was a joke. The hook is a free storage unit for both That’s a joke. Called they reserved one for me. A 10/15 outside pull up. One unit. Kinda small don’t u think? When I got there after a 30 hour trip the manager informed me nothing available! Say what. After several hours back and forth with the manager and corporate ( corporate women c.s. ) horrible rude nasty women finally agreed on giving me something. That they didn’t have ????? Two units 10/12 s. The manager was a funny man. Not to sure about this guy but in the long run Made me laugh. He really understood the bs of it all. Lol. Poor deal.

About a week later, I received an email from the facility about my payment being overdue so I responded with a copy of the confirmation of my online move-out request but never received a response. About 10 days later, I received a more aggressive email about being past due on payment. I contacted the facility by phone and spoke with Summer, who was extremely helpful and ensured my checkout request was promptly processed.
