We had a unit here for several years and always felt our belongings were safe. It was great to not have to worry! I work odd hours and loved that whenever I needed I was able to get to my unit. I also loved the provided carts to help move stuff from car to unit and back again!

Overall a great experience! Everything was superb! The owner is kind and helpful and assisted with all my inquiries in a timely manner and handled things professionally! The only thing preventing this review from being five stars is a lack of utility such as a dolly to put boxes/furniture on that could be used to move items with less physical burden across the facility. Being on the second floor for storage is a pain, but not having a device to help move the more awkward and bulkier items made it more of a hassle.

Really bad experience with U-Haul yesterday. I booked in one location and changed pick up location without intimating to customers or no notification. Because of location change I paid extra $10 to $15 The truck is very old and brakes are too hard, no back camera, steering is hard.

The vehicle was not clean. The tires' light was on but the person didn't want to switch vehicles. I was instructed to drop off the key in the drop box then found out that there is a fee for not using the app. This has been the worst experience renting a vehicle.

Warning lights across the dash....RR tire low add air, RF tire low add air, change oil soon, service tire monitoring system, a flashing warning emblem of a tire with an exclamation point in the middle, check engine light came on...I drove the van maybe 25 miles in total...it ran the whole time with no issues except for the dashboard light show...the pick up and drop off were handled very well.

This location came in clutch because they were open and staffed. I showed up and waited for my scheduled time from 9am-9:45 without anyone answering calls or showing up at the Fenwick Storage location, but was able to transfer to this location after.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6th, I reserved a 10 ft. truck at the 2402 Hermitage Way, Louisville, KY to be picked up at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Dec. 9th. I arrived 9:45 that morning only to be informed that the truck I reserved was not available. Nikki(sp), the owner/manager called the manager at the 3414 Collins Ln location to see if they had a truck. I ended up having to drive to the new location and pick up a 15 ft. truck, all I was moving was a China cabinet, couch and love seat, the 15-footer was a little overkill to say the lease, not to mention the increase in gas consumption. I might also mention that we were trying to get ahead of the impending monsoon heading to towards Louisville. The delay (approximately 1 hour) required us to drive from Louisville to Fairfield, OH in heavy rain. I think this was an avoidable situation had everyone been on the same page. Nevertheless, this experience would not prevent me from renting from U-Haul in the future. Just FYI.

We showed up for our rental and were told there wasn’t a dolly. This mad out move nearly impossible. The employee said he always recommends to the purchaser to call first and ensure there is a dolly. How would I know that if I book online. He has the order and could have told me they didn’t have one before pick up time. Or better yet, track one down bc I ordered the truck a month in advance. He offered to take the dolly rental fee off the bill as a concession for messing up the order. Obviously we wouldn’t pay for it-we didn’t get it! This is totally unacceptable and I wouldn’t rent from uhaul again.

The attendant was inattentive, drunk or high. He ordered his dinner in the middle of our transaction. The truck we rented was terrible and seemed like the transmission would fall out at any moment. Upon returning the truck the next morning, the attendant was grouchy and hardly spoke to us.

I was informed I would be issued a $50 credit at issue with previous rental, since when I arrived at the Collins Lane location to pick up the 10 ft truck, there was only a 15 ft truck available. I had to drive to the Hermitage location, which is further away..(more miles). Yesterday, I found there are multiple charges to my credit card, called to question this, and was also informed that SafeMove was added. I did select nor authorize this additional charge.

He took time to check their system and said they did have some and they’ve been available for a while:(((. I just wish the manager would have taken this time. Reserved a hand truck and appliance dolly but was told when I arrived that they didn’t have any available. I hired movers to help so this cost me almost $100 in lost time trying to find somewhere else to rent one. I didn’t feel like the person who handled the rental was very concerned. Had I been notified in advance it wouldn’t have been a problem. In fact the helpers that I hired through Uhaul called days before to confirm and offered to bring them free of charge but I told them I already had them reserved. No compensation was offered and there was a attitude of “oh well.”

Accidentally shut the door with the key in car. Called the location with no response. Called the number listed on the text and got a hold of Nikki. Explained what happened. Nikki said we needed to call customer service. Customer service rep Tasha said we could just leave and didn’t need to do anything. She said she would put it in the notes. Nikki then called me back & stated she needed to call customer service because I was told wrong. She said she would call to get the truck unlocked & I asked her to please let me know what charges were first. Next thing I know- I get charged $516. This is unacceptable. I’m still waiting for area manager to call me. I’m sure I’ll have to call constantly to get a hold of him. Not happy at all. Terrible business.

The gentleman attending to our reservation was rocking back and forth, sucking on an icee and slow to move. Plus when reviewing the contract after he had checked us out, I noticed he had not changed the drop off date to Wednesday, 04/26/23. He said he would take care of it and send me an email. Never received an email and it had not been corrected by the next day so I had to send an email through the U-Haul system, and then call the location the next day because it had still not been corrected. It was like we were an inconvenience to him. Poor customer service. To his credit, I will say that customer service in general is getting poor. Sad.

The truck had a deferred maintenance/safety issue - the windshield trim gasket on driver side came free and dangled in the wind slapping the side of the cab at highway speeds for my 1000 mile journey. Two of the three usb ports were inoperable and no blue tooth availability on truck

Warning, we fully expect that U-Haul will take this review down and no one will ever see it. We had our RV stored at this facility long before U-Haul bought out the private owner. Things have steadily gone downhill under U-Haul’s ownership. Last year, one of their employees ran into and damaged our motorhome. They DID contact us and the damage was repaired at their expense. However, recently someone broke into their “secure” facility and did over $1000 of damage trying to break into our rig. U-Haul washed their hands of it and stonewalled our attempts to have them repair the damage. We paid to be in a secure facility. If that security is breached, how is that our fault? Under these conditions, we would have been just as well off parking in an open field. We will NEVER deal with this facility again. We cannot recommend it to anyone. We gave them 1 star only because of the years we spent under the private ownership. U-Haul deserves no more than a ZERO.

We have been storing our motorhome here for many years - even before U-Haul bought out the previous owners. We relocated from our original site to another which was more convenient for our needs which became a check-out/check-in situation for their bookkeeping. The staff member, Jesus, that worked this out for us was super helpful and friendly. We’ve still got some bugs to work out but we’re sure that our needs will be satisfied. Our only negative comment relates to several old cars that have been there for many years that aren’t well maintained and some renters that leave old furniture and other debris around their sites.

The staff has been helpful. There are several old cars that have been there for a long time that aren’t well cared for. We travel a lot and our motorhome is away for a couple of months at a time. The people behind our site have many pieces of old furniture and other debris which overflowed into our site while we were away. At one time, there was an obvious hole torn in the perimeter fence which would allow entry to outsiders. With all of that said, we checked out of the site we’ve had for nearly 8 years to move into another site which was more convenient for our storage needs.

The representative told me I didn’t have a reservation for a storage unit. When I showed him that I did using the app, he asked if it was for the storage facility where we were even through it clearly said the correct name. He again insisted his computer didn’t show that I had a unit. I asked if they had a unit 422 which was what my app had listed. He said they did and I asked him to check if I was listed as the renter. He said I was but didn’t explain how I could get into the unit. He said the unit wouldn’t be locked but when we got back with the truck to unload it was locked. They had to change the unit I had, and I had to get a bigger one since no other 10X10 unit was available outside. It was really ridiculous.

Didn’t really want to help me. Month free with truck trailer. You rent a 26’ and a 12’ trailer. 4 bedroom house. They offer you a 10x10 Say What. When you het there nothing available. Switch and bait. Took what I could and moved after 30 days to Public Storage. Excellent service and staff.

On August 8-30-21, I & asked Summer when I had to be out to avoid another months rent. She said 9-1-21. On 8-31-21, I called Summer about UHaul truck prices & decided I needed a 10 ft truck at .69 cents/mile. On 9-1-21, I called & asked Summer if I needed to pay over the phone to hold the truck & she said no it would be there. Later on arrival, she said the 10 Ft. truck was gone & only had 17 ft truck available, which was twice the amount I was expecting. So then she redid it & said I could use the 15 ft truck if I could have it back by 9 am on 9-2-21, & I said ok. Later I looked at the receipt which said to return it by 10 pm the same night, So that made my friends have to rush to get things done as we were expecting to return it at 9 am on 9-2-21. Therefore, I feel like I should be given an additional $10 credit for truck. Also. on the storage unit rental, she was trying to charge me another month for September, but I reminded her that she had told me on 8-30-21 that I had until 9-1-21, so she did correct that. That was the whole purpose of renting a uhaul truck to move out & NOT have to pay another months storage rent. So I told her if I was getting charged for September then to cancel the truck rental, so she said she would correct it. Summer was very nice but commented it must be her pregnant brain messing up everything. So I just wanted to make sure U-Haul management knows the situation that occurred. It also took a lot of time to check the truck in & out.

Horrible company. After UHaul took over from the previous company, Aladin Self Storage I received notice my auto payment was disconnected. I contacted UHaul to reset my auto payment. I called,emailed, texted and messaged UHauls customer service. After two months I finally made contact, they told me I didn't have a storage unit. I assured them I did, after more than an hour they said they had my auto payment set back up. The following month nothing came out of my account. Again I started attempting to contact them. After another two months attempting contact, I finally was able to speak with them regarding the invoice I had received that was SEVERAL hundred more than it should have been. The again told me I didn't have a storage unit nor an account with UHaul. After that I DROVE 16 hours from south Florida to Louisville KY. I went to clean out the unit. They allowed me ONE day access to the unit for one months payment which I authorized. I cleaned out as much as I could in the one day and left. After I left I saw they had charged my account for the one month AND 3 additional months that were not accurate. By the time I noticed I was already back in Florida so I asked a family member to clean out the rest and sell it. Unfortunately, UHaul decided to deny my family access even with my approval, code and phone giving authorization UNLESS my family member paid additional money (although my account was completely paid current and they couldn't explain the extra charges). Horrible experience, horrible customer service, they WILL charge your account without authorization and the WILL keep your stuff for auction after they've finished with your account. Do NOT use this company.

Overall poor experience. I rented a 26’ truck and 6-12 trailer. Over 1000 mile move. Tje truck rental was outstanding. The storage was a joke. The hook is a free storage unit for both That’s a joke. Called they reserved one for me. A 10/15 outside pull up. One unit. Kinda small don’t u think? When I got there after a 30 hour trip the manager informed me nothing available! Say what. After several hours back and forth with the manager and corporate ( corporate women c.s. ) horrible rude nasty women finally agreed on giving me something. That they didn’t have ????? Two units 10/12 s. The manager was a funny man. Not to sure about this guy but in the long run Made me laugh. He really understood the bs of it all. Lol. Poor deal.

Excellent experience until it was time for checkout. I emptied my unit and submitted my online move-out request a few days before the end of my rental period. About a week later, I received an email from the facility about my payment being overdue so I responded with a copy of the confirmation of my online move-out request but never received a response. About 10 days later, I received a more aggressive email about being past due on payment. I contacted the facility by phone and spoke with Summer, who was extremely helpful and ensured my checkout request was promptly processed.
