We were unhappy about having to go to Apopka. I had placed our reservation with Eustis for a small truck and tow dolly. Then I got a call the afternoon before we were supposed to pick it up that we would have to drive to Apopka to pick up the equipment. That turned out to be an hour drive out of our way. The staff there was ok, but not friendly. We put our car on the dolly to tow so that we wouldn't both have to drive the hour back. The truck was nice and clean, but I probably won't use UHaul again. Had I known that the equipment wasn't going to be at the location I reserved it I would have gotten a Pod or used someone else.

Everything that I owned was in my storage literally all my clothes furniture kids items, kitchen appliances, I literally mean everything. I had the insurance on the unit of course hoping to not have to use it but I did have to use it not for any fault of my own but as an employee at this facility stated the roof on my storage unit was damaged and caused for the water dirt mold and debris to be inside my unit when it was opened, and what makes it even worse is the insurance company just like and will try not to have to pay out anything because they don’t care about your items because why would they, oh yes and they will tell you just get the clothes that’s been sitting in the wet moldy unit washed or dry cleaned they will be fine. Who in there right mind will still wear clothes even after they have been washed that sat for months to a year in mold and continuously got water on them because again the storage facilities roof wasn’t maintained and caused the damage. This is the only reason I wouldn’t recommend this storage facility because for it to have been as expensive as it was with the continuous increase in price none of my stuff should have been damaged and with it happening as such the facilities insurance should have been covering it all and I shouldn’t have to replace any of my items on my own, but in this case I definitely will have to replace 90% on my own. The insurance is a joke they are just like any other insurance company and don’t care about the customer and they are just trying to keep money in their pockets. This will be the absolute last place I advise anyone to store anything of value and if U-Haul really cared about the customer they would get a better insurance company to provide for the needs of the customer . Thank you so much U-HAUL for adding even more stress into my life as if this economy isn’t already stressing enough!

It's a very inconvenient if I get there to pick up the equipment, but now they want me to go get it miles away to a different city to go and get it? Had to take a pick up truck with a roach inside the cabinet running around.

Im really upset. I expected a furniture dolly to be in the truck. When we went to pick up the truck there was no furniture dolly in the back of the truck. I called customer service and there was nothing we could do because the store closed at 7. So me and my husband had no choose but to move our furniture without the dolly. A lot of our furniture got scratched because we couldn’t move everything efficiently because we had no dolly. The move took longer and our bodies hurt so bad due to the weight of all the furniture. I expected to have a smooth move but due to this we had a horrible experience.

had issues with a pick up location that was not a U-Haul specific store. Ended up getting rerouted to this location and the manager along with a girl with black hair were super helpful and helping me fix my issues and find something affordable for my move with my budget. I couldn’t have been happier to have a staff so willing to help in a tough time.

The Apopka, FL U-Haul establishment was great. No problems and efficient. The Raleigh, NC store was atrocious. Not the same at all. SLOW, unhelpful, lack of decent service there.

Your employee that met me at the counter was excellent. He was fast, efficient and so helpful. None of the lights worked on the trailer and he checked it out back to the battery wire connection and did the repairs, replaced the fuse and was so gracious in getting everything working. He's an amazing asset to your company and I'll always go to you first because you have people like him.

When I rented the tow dolly down in Apopka they told me they didn't know where Ace Hardware store was the U-Haul place right next to my house just about and I had to leave it where they wanted me to leave it I thought that was kind of rude they couldn't find it and when I got home I looked it up and it was right there so I don't know why that girl couldn't look it up for me

My biggest problem was that there were no small storage units available. I had to use a unit twice as large as I needed. Since it was a free month after we rented a truck and we were able to move out before the month was over it wasn't a problem, but if we had to leave things there over a month it would have been wasteful and more expensive than necessary.

Pricey, and I couldn't get a small unit that I wanted. I was told when I rented the van in Melbourne that I was reserving a unit in Apopka, but that wasn't the case. The storage unit I ended up with is twice the size I need.

Security lights are turned off during the most vulnerable hours overnight. We were broken into twice in a few months. Manager wouldn't even get off his stool to look at the damages. He blames "corporate" and told us addresses of a couple other facilities close by. Someone was sleeping and using our toilet several nights. Police reports filed and security camera footage requested. Manager is completely unresponsive. Just sitting on his stool collecting a paycheck. Moved out yesterday. Mr. Billy Eads provided a move out receipt but said the last 5 days paid in full could not be prorated. He acknowledged that he was aware of the campfires being burned between units but said that he couldn't do anything about it. Again, "Corporate's" issue. SHAMEFUL staff, attitudes and conditions!!

The unit we reserved was not accessible due to holes in the ground from the rain, so I parked in a different spot. When I spoke to Uhaul staff, they were very understanding and courteous. When it was time to get the trailer out of storage, the young man that helped us was wonderful. Well run business with excellent staff!

No nos llevamos una buena experiencia. El día de salida se suponía entregáramos el trailer en nuestro county y cuando llegamos resulta que no había espacio. Llamamos a servicio al cliente y estuvimos alrededor de 2 horas para que nos enviaran a otra localidad. Cuando llegamos resulta que no teníamos acceso y la que nos atendió la llamada nunca nos brindó un código de acceso. Volvimos a llamar y nos enviaron a otra localidad donde al fin pudimos entregar el trailer. Estuvimos más de 4 horas intentando ser responsables para entregar el trailer ya que al otro dia entrábamos temprano al trabajo y por eso la necesidad de entregarlo ese mismo dia. La ultima persona que nos atendió la llamada nos ofreció un reembolso y resulta que tampoco supe nada respecto a eso.

My only complaint was during move in, a white vehicle was parked directly our front of the area to load my stuff into the storage facility. I think he must be private security, because I have returned there many times to see the same car (with a man in it) parked there and in the area. I could have asked him to move, but figured if he worked there he would offer to move.his car to make my move in easier. But a small complaint as the place is a great place to rent from.

How UHaul has not improved Access to the storage units is beyond Me. I was told there would be a “gate” that closed at 7p, but after that there was Access until 10p. What they DIDNT Say that Access was through at standard size Door,, that had to be Closed after 5min otherwise the Alarm would go off! WTH how are you supposed to move furniture or other HHD goods through a regular size door, which wasnt a straight in and out door! This is probably because the Facility is not properly Fenced,, so they secure the Building instead of the Property.. how freakin stupid. How about doing BOTH!!

I had my storage space for almost 3yrs. Until recently everything was fine. The manager on site had my checks as payment for October, but they were lost in transit to the home office. This caused no end in grief for me. The locking of my units, lien notices, etc. I then had to pay for stop payments for my checks, in the amount of $76. No reimbursement from U-HAUL. Then drive to their office to make the payment because U-HAUL lost my payment. To say the least not convenient and costly!

The Semoran location did not have a unit large enough to meet my needs. I was referred to the Maitland location. That is why the responses about the unit were no's. At the Maitland location, the responses would be yes'. Tommy at the Maitland location went above and beyond in servicing the contract in order to meet my needs.

When I rented the outdoor space here I was told they had security cameras. Someone stole my trolling motor, fishing rods and tackle. About $1000 lost. When I reported the theft it took three weeks for the manager to tell me their office couldn’t see my boat on their cameras but they had a few more to check. A week or so later I was told nothing was seen on those cameras either. Three times I ask for a different parking spot with no results.

I had two units and one of them got broken into, so I filed a police report and one of the staff members made a comment that they (the thieves) didn't get away with much (how would the staff know what's in my units?) and that she has worked for over 9 years and she has never heard of nor seen anyone ever get their unit broken into the whole 9 plus years that she has worked there, insinuating that I was lying about my valuables being stolen. Her attitude was so unprofessional and rude I'm surprised she made it passed 9 days working there much less 9 YEARS?!?! My unit was broken into on a Saturday and U-Haul didn't notify me until 9 days later! After all that B.S. they never helped me with filing a insurance claim on the stolen items< which totaled over $1700! I will NEVER use U Haul or recommend them to anyone ever again, U Haul is by far the worst storage company that I have ever used!

Unfortunately there is no gate or any protection for people using the parking storage area. The cameras alone are not enough. It should be brightly lit, gated with barbed wire to help prevent theft. My boat was broken into so I decided to move it to a more secure storage facility. Filing a police report and providing camera footage will not do anything to get my items replaced. The focus should be more focused on prevention, not capturing theft on video.
