We had a pick up at 2400 E. Rand Rd Arlington Height Rd when we arrived to pick up our truck we were told that they had moved our reservation to the 200 Industrial Dr. Lincolnshire location and that someone should of called us or e-mailed us neither of which happend. Now we had to drive another 15-30 min to get the truck in the opposite direction. I normally get our trucks from the Rolling Meadows location but it seems like you are not having the pick-up trucks on site at any of your locations any more as there were not at this location.

Justin was very rude: 1. Yelling at customer, so upset because customer followed the return sign and waited at the return spot. He yelled at me for literally following the directions stated on the sign, instead he wanted me to return the trailer to the spot I picked up. How customer supposed to know to follow his personal made up standard? 2. Angrily blamed customer for the trailer chain that was setup by the other Uhaul worker so low that it rubs the asphalt during the drive. He told me it’s customer responsibility to fix the mistake that his colleague made.

Truck did not have a backup camera. When I requested changing the truck to the one with a backup camera, they flatly said none of our trucks have backup camera while I could literally see a line of trucks with cameras. Also if you are renting out from this location check the fuel gauge, i was informed that the truck had a full tank but it didnt.

Repair the fold down panel on the left side of the trailer. It had been damaged at some point and doesn't fold up in the proper place so it's difficult to reposition in order to fold down .

The facility is first rate! Clean, organized, well-lighted. The guys there were friendly and helpful. Trailer was in very good shape, with good tires and it towed well. Maybe the counterweight on the door is off... a little hard to latch the door closed. And then, it is not clear if there will be an extra charge for after-hour drop off. I will rent from this location again. Thanks!

The equipment and the location are both fine overall. However, I am reluctant to rent from this location because the representative who checked me in was disrespectful and condescending. The guy who gave us the truck told us our drop off location would be open until 7. Well it actually closed at 5 and was closed the next day. Drop off location was confusing, but we were able to use the website to drop off the truck. Just sucks we couldn’t drop it off to a human and buy supplies at the store like we planned because we had the wrong info.

The dodge 2500 cargo van seemed relatively new, low miles. Exterior was fine, cargo space was sufficient. Could not locate (or the van did not have) a light in cargo area. The windshield wipers were not well maintained and left streaks. The inside of the windshield was dirty/grimey and needed to be cleaned. A HUGE safety concern. When engaging the turn signal, at least once, the audible clicking turned to a fast click and a warning light came on adjacent to the fuel indicator. On multiple occasions ant random intervals, non-descript warning lights came on in the speedometer just below the 60 km/h marker. The steering wheel was not adjustable, even with the latch disengaged (would not telescope), so with the seat pushed back (to accommodate me, I’m 6’ tall), it was difficult to reach the upper 50% of the wheel and controls. The seat also had a slight forward pitch to it which increased space between the seat and my legs, providing no support and much discomfort.

I used the app for this rental pickup and return. The process was simple. The truck (10’) was clean, but bare bones minimum when it comes to features. I felt every pothole and gust of wind. The truck had a good amount of drag in acceleration even without towing turned on. Although it had less than 85K in miles on it, it felt 20 years old and ready for retirement. It served the purpose though and would absolutely rent from U-Haul again.

This is asking about my storage experience, I just started using that service this month, so far so good though. The place is very clean and appears to be secure. Alex, Chris and Joe were very helpful and friendly. The only complaint and it's more of a warning for those who drive, the lot did seem to have debris (nuts, bolts, screws) all over the place the one day we were there; have no idea where it came from, but beware of that. Otherwise so far my experience was great!

I have used U-Boxes in the the past and had no problems, this time I needed two and again, no problems. I didn't use furniture pads as I have no furniture and I knew I needed two boxes so didn't need U-Haul to recommend anything in that department. My boxes arrived safely and ahead of time. Had anything been damaged, it would have been caused by my packing of the items, not anything U-Haul did; just saying, nothing was damaged but people are quick to put blame on everyone else instead of the person who packed the U-box. Maybe I am just lucky the times I've used, them, but I have no complaints about them.

The storage lot for our truck and trailer was littered with screws and nails, we had to walk the lot and pick up as many as we could so we did not puncture as tire. This is not one or two but handfuls of debris. When we first checked in I brought in a handful to the employee and notified him of all the debris and he said as clearly not interested. No change when we returned, nothing had been done which is why we had to walk most of the lot picking up all the construction debris. I would never recommend the storage lot until more care is taken to clean the debris. Also, all we wanted was a short term rental of 6 days but we had to pay for a month. Since the lot was no where near capacity, very empty, it was unreasonable that our request could not have been met.

The facility is secure and clean and even has a bathroom on site. I have a couple of issues trying to get in after hours, but it eventually goes through with several tries. The only thing I dislike is the size and the cost. But I understand the temperature control expense. SO I had to say bye to looking for cheaper or larger size options.

The facility is clean and run well. The office staff were very accommodating and helpful when leasing the storage location for winter storage of our RV trailer. The grounds are secured well with fencing and barriers. The gate was easily operated with a FOB provided to us or personal access code. We’ll be using this facility again and told all of our friends who also have trailers that need storing.

Joe is a very helpful manager. He answered all of our questions on a Sunday morning when we called about the facility. He also helped us choose a spot we felt comfortable in parking our RV. And he walked us through the access gate to make sure we had no problems with our codes or access into the lot. Great service!

There was construction going on at this location and they never told the renters. My unit was outside and all my stuff got a layer of concrete dust. I called and received a credit quietly from U-Haul but I’m sure they upset all their customers.

When I selected this facility I did so because I was able to pre-reserve a 1st floor handicap accessible unit online and I also confirmed this was the case in the phone. When I arrived they re-assigned me to a second floor unit with no accessibility (this was an issue for us as we needed the accessibility function). The employee Joseph told me you can’t really select a unit it’s first come first serve. I was also supposed to receive a free lock at check-in Joseph told me that was not the case and charged me for a lock. Once he took me to the unit a lock was sitting there for me which he took away from me and said that wasn’t mine even though the welcome letter had my name on it. I receive the same rude service from Joseph each dealing I had with him. He was rarely in the store and you had to find him in the garage or outside smoking. Finally the floors of the hallway to my unit had heavy mud tracked on the floors for weeks before I checked out so it was not being cleaned.

Outstanding experience. Great price for super spacious unit 10x5 with very wide convenient door. No hidden fees or idiotic Admin Fees (like Public Storage) upon signing the agreement. Free lock. This location needs workers with better Customer service skills. There was construction going on at this location to where the location was shutting down certain weeks without giving heads up. There were no emails, text messages, nor calls sent out. The staff was rude when it came to pulling into the location that was hard to access because of the construction. I was forced to move my items earlier than intended. As I just so happened to retreive some items one Friday (October 15th), I was told that I would not be able to retrieve any of my items after Monday (October 18th) because of more construction (This will be the second time this location was shut down for construction purposes) Had I not drove up there that Friday I would not have known that. To top it off, I was charged a $25 cleaning fee for basically using the dumpster at the facility. Only 3 items was placed in the dumpster at the facility, but no items would have been left behind had I been able to get the my things out at my normal intended date. Although the location was clean, the hassle was not worth the business.

I reserved and paid for a 1st floor ADA compliant unit. When I was brought to the unit it was up a flight of stairs with no ramp or elevator access. When I told the attendant about this he said just because you reserve it doesn’t mean you get it. It’s first come first serve. I said well I am paying $10 more a month for that selection. He didn’t give me any other options. I also was supposed to get a free lock upon checkin he made me pay for it. Then when he opened my unit took my lock that was provided inside the unit with a note.

I don't recommend Uhaul at all. I received toll violations and asked for more information over the phone and email. I also clicked on the link, "More Info" from a text. No info. My card was charged.
