I will no longer comment on these reviews as no one reads them. I placed a detailed complaint after my last rental and heard from nobody.

First of all, I asked why my bill was going to be $139 which was nearly double what was confirmed over the phone. The only explanation given was that my rental was $63 and that I asked for the rental insurance which added $16 to the bill...Silence. I thought that my question was an understandable one. Apparently not. He must have thought that I was one of those customers that made a reservation but didn't know I was expected to pay when I came to pick it up... When I asked what the $60 charge was for, it was then that the employee informed me that that $60 was only if I was paying in cash... Why lead with that? It only got more confusing from there. The fact is (which I had not yet told him) that I DID in fact intend to pay in cash. So, I asked multiple times if my cash deposit would be returned when I returned the trailer in Oshkosh. His answers were dodgy, which didn't leave me with much confidence, but I trusted that this was the system so I was willing to pay in cash. As I was about to pull out a couple of hundos, he tells me that he CAN NOT accept cash... First of all...if you can't take cash, why give me a bill that includes a deposit amount for the off chance that in a nearly-cashless society, I might be paying with cash. Secondly, if I ask you repeatedly about the cash deposit and receiving it back...there's your opportunity to admit that it is a moot point. Again, only gets stranger... Next, he proceeds to tell me that *ACTUALLY* he can take cash, he will just have to "open a cash drawer." OKAY...let's do that. I'm not one for encouraging laziness, so let's go ahead with that option since I am intending on keeping this off of the plastic and just knockin it out with bills. You're a store. I'm a consumer. I'm okay with you having to do your job and go thru the hassle of taking cash. Next fun pivot... He proceeds to tell me he can open a cash drawer but it's my responsibility to keep the bills small and get him close, because he can only give me change in quarters... Oh for heaven's sake and all that is good and holy. YES. Yes, I want to carry a backpack full of quarters around for the rest of the day until I can find a bank that presumably still accepts cash as an item for deposit...assuming they're not too lazy to do that. You've forced me in to a corner. Fine, I will pay with a card. BUT...why not lead off with, "Yes sir, that extra $60 on your bill is something that Corporate makes us include on the bill IF you are going to be paying in cash, BUT, in fact I don't have enough cash in the drawer this morning to cover you unless you are paying with exact bills. Otherwise, credit or debit would be fine and your bill will be $79 this morning." U-Haul, will you teach your CS reps how to communicate with customers please?

Contract #96111353 I have been renting 25-30 times per year for the past several years. Every time I rent a van / truck I choose the SaveMove Insurance and, every time I do I verify that the insurance covers the entire truck. Each, and every, time I have asked this, the answer from the U-Haul rep has been ues. Never once, was I explained that there is a deductible. The reps go over the same information on every rental and never talk about the deductible. This past Saturday I backed into a Yellow Protection Pole. The was yellow paint on the bumper of the van along with an almost invisible dent. Had I wiped the paint off and not said anything, I am sure that nothing would have been noticed. I am an honest person and shared the specifics of the pole tap with the rep returning the chuck. He called Tyler, the manager who, while never even looking me in the eye, slapped a $150 deductible. I am very upset about this as, over the years, I've probable spent nearly $2,000.00 on this insurance. I do not plan on renting from this location again unless something is done to make me fee good about using U-haul again. I also have a monthly storage facility at this (Lincolnshire ) location. I am considering pulling that as well.

No problem at this location. Problems at the Macco Location in Wheeling Illinois location where truck was dropped off initially. I had to retrieve the truck and take it to the Lincolnshire location to get my $100.00 cash deposit back. This took 2 hours of my day from unpacking.

I rented a van less than an hour. I declined $10 insurance because I would use less than an hour. When we first check the van, the car wasn't clean and it was dusty. So that I didn't check the little details because usually a little dent or scratch wouldn't really matter. After I returned the van, they said there was a dent. When they removed the dust, I could notice. But it was really small. And they charged me $120 for that. I know it's my fault that I didn't check carefully. But who would check for the little dent or some scratches? It's a rental car. We understand that there could be a little dent or scratch.

Nothing!! It was super easy to pick-up the cargo van...it was waiting w/the keys for me upon arrival. I received an email to confirm my order the day before. We completed our move earlier than 24 hours, so we did a late PM drop off using the drop-box. Very convenient and efficient.

Your equipment was unclean and not suitable for delivery. Your response rime on customer service over the phone is pathetic. I won’t be using U-Haul again. I won’t recommend U-Haul again. In fact I will stead friends and family away. Totally unacceptable

The initial person I dealt with was great , although the second guy was not so nice. I filled up the truck based upon the requirements and the estimated gallonage. But when I checked in he stated that it was not enough and charged me an extra $15 . Very disappointed
