Then we returned at 7am , when the store was supposed to open, no one was there. We stayed there for 45 minutes and no one came to open the store. So U wasted 3 hours of my life waiting for this location to open.

Was told I couldn't use my vehicle after it was already approved, associate put wrong vehicle in system. Why do pre registration and then do it again?
NATHAN FU-haul changed the drop off location and did not notify me until AFTER I attempted to drop it at the agreed upon location and was told they could not accept it there causing me to drive across town. The small discount for dropping it off 20 miles from my original location was not worth the hassle

Audiene K | Online Move InI've had a unit for over a year there and I can't say one negative thing! The facility was kept super clean, the bathrooms were never nasty , and the employees were cool. I want to give a huge shout out to Angel Owens for being an awesome employee! That gal knew her stuff and her attitude! Psh more people should have her work ethic, period. Hands down, the best employee they got! I would recommend this facility to anyone and everyone who wants a great deal and a safe place to keep your treasures!

Nicholas INot sure you can. It was really good. I had my moving help cancel last minute on me late Friday night and called the UHAUL office Saturday morning and moved my pick up date to Sunday no problem. Had my move go way slower than I wanted but with an easy phone call was able to move my time of return twice with no problems. I will use this location or again if needed or recommend to others.
ANTHONY MI had to wait 30 minutes before I was assisted which cut into my rental time. Also, they were not helpful throughout the process. They just handed me the keys and failed to go over my contract with me, which they failed to inform me about certain fees which had I’d known I would have canceled my rental. Also, it seems like no one in there enjoys their job. There was a lot of huffing and puffing when it came to assisting others and little to no apology for my experience with them that morning. What was a $69 rental turned into me owing them $170 total. For a 3 hr pick up rental!! Ridiculous. Never using U Haul again, very misleading advertising. And if ur going to run a business like that, hire a crew that can provide contract clarity instead of just handing out keys and saying F it …

GEORGE CI had to go find the truck myself (searching through the uhauls for a certain number on the top of the truck) and add the equipment that I rented into the truck as well . I was never offered any help and my hands full, the whole visit was rushed and the employee was just as confused as me with the paperwork and pricing. Horrible experience.

MICHAEL FAl, the GM, was very helpful and friendly, and made my overall experience the best it could be after a very bad start and impression at a different location. I reserved a truck at the U-Haul Moving & Storage of W Columbia location on Orchard Drive. As scheduled, I arrived prior to their normal 10am opening time, but the person who worked the previous day moved the truck under the canopy, but neglected to put the truck keys into the lockbox. Fortunately, your Reservations Center person (who was extremely proficient and friendly) was able to get me a truck at the Cayce location. However, the incompetence of the person at the Orchard Drive location meant I got started about 90 minutes later than planned and resulted in not being able to complete the process of loading and unloading the truck in one day, so an extra day's rental charge had to be incurred unnecessarily and at no fault of myself.
Jim SI had a wonderful experience with U-Haul and this location. The truck (10 foot) fit everything with an inch to spare! The price was very affordable and the girls at the front desk were fantastic! I highly recommend this location to meet your moving needs!!
MARY MMy initial reservation was at another location. The website said it was open when I made the reservation. When I got there it was closed. The sign on the door said they are closed on Saturdays, yet the website said they are open. I had to call for assistance and go to the next store. I didn’t appreciate that. At the next store things went well. There was a miss. When I drove away with the trailer, that they hooked up, about 2 minutes down the road the ramp fell down. I had to stop. They never connected the locking pins. Luckily no damage or accident.

RANDALL DCompletely unacceptable for a U-Haul actual location. Dropping the truck off the attendant stared at me and wouldn’t was unhelpful. Went out reluctantly to check the truck and said nothing to me then just drove off. Took way too long to drop it off . Staff was not courteous or well informed about how to do much of anything terrible experience.

RODNEY TMy son drove the truck, but said it was a little "jumpy", like there may be an issue with the engine. He said he thought it may cut off several times. May need to have a mechanic look at it. Other than that, everything else was fine. The employees were very nice, polite & respectful.

ALEXEY GAfter multiple attempts to get a truck that I reserved earlier that day, from the center not even having the truck available, then to the next center & the lock couldn't be removed for the key, onto the final center that is huge & pitch black. There's no lights on. So only lights are from inside the closed bldg & car headights. Considering the hassles i experienced with your company, seems like charging me for gas upon drop off was more than petty. I won't be using you again.
Lecon MI went in to rent a $19 truck rental and ended up paying over $108! There’s so many extra fees ! That’s a huge overpayment! False advertising when they say it’s only $19 when you're charging that much extra. Money is tight right now. I wasn’t expecting to have to pay so much. Not cool

TRACEY D | First ImpressionsWhile the storage facility is well lit in the inside; at night, the parking lot is not well lit (pitch black) on the side where you enter and exit the facility (by the garages in the front). I would recommend fixing this issue especially when you have clients wanting to access the facility at night.

I call at 9:05am. He said he will be there in 15 minutes. I left and he called me at 9:40am about my reservation. That is unacceptable. To be 1 hour and 10 minutes late.

Also uboxes were dropped on a trailer on drop off and pick up and my driveway was scraped and so was the street on my brand new home. The U-Haul representative that picked the uboxes up told me to file a claim with U-Haul. Pictures were taken and I will be calling tomorrow. I am totally disappointed. I need my driveway repaired. I will never do business with your company ever again.

I was never explaining this at all and when I asked about it, they told me I should’ve read the fine print and to check the inside of the U-Haul is plastered on there somewhere when it comes to money, that is something you should talk about with somebody especially When it comes to not folding the blankets that I paid for already. I feel taken advantage of and I truly feel it’s a money grab and I’m not satisfied at all at this point I would not use you guys again.

MARK I | Overall ExperienceLacks professionalism off top; staff is too relaxed and speaks negatively about other costumers that have left around existing customers. I observed this with the manager and his staff. Outside door on left side of bldg gets stuck consistently preventing you from entering even after you enter code. Myself and several others have experienced this upon our arrival to our storage units; we eventually will let one another in because we understand that management isn’t going to fix. Most of staff is ghetto, lacks business etiquette and proved complacent many times. Went to close out my unit and of 4-5 people behind desk nobody did or said anything. Only one person was with a customer but the other 4 or 5 were busy doing something else and still never acknowledged me. I ended up leaving and coming back later. Respect and good ratings have to be earned and so the staff, their interactions with customers, how they conduct themselves, and leadership from the top has to become the culture. I’m sure I’ll need storage again at some point but I will definitely stay away from this place.

They didn’t have my reservation, although I had it in me app. The were able to find me two smaller units near each other but not convenient. I had called Savannah in Monday to make sure they had me dropping the truck off at Uhaul of Cayce, since we were using the storage there. It was not, the person on the phone says she adjusted it. It was them showing Cayce as the drop off. But when o got to the storage place they did not have it listed. Do I had to drive way on the other side of town. Causing me to me over mileage and was charged for it. The App apparently does not work well their computer system. All this causing a lot of stress

I had made a reservation online for both a truck and a storage facility. Upon going to two different U-Haul locations, neither of my reserved things were available. I flew to Columbia, South Carolina from Maryland that morning and had six hours to move my daughter out of her apartment. I wasted more than two hours, re-answering inane questions I had already answered online, only to have re-registration time out two different times because they took too long. I don’t understand why U-Haul has a website or a reservation system at all, if the things you reserve ahead of time are not available when you show up. The manager clearly didn’t care, and this was the worst customer service I’ve ever had in my entire life. I will be writing negative reviews on any website I can to explain this horrible experience. The only bright spot, was one employee named Natasha, who finally was able to get us a rental unit. Otherwise, I would have made a flight only to have to fly back with my stuff still in your truck and no solutions on what to do next.

He tried to charge us another month of rent because he didn’t pay attention or do his part of the move out process until he called me saying I was past due and I had to tell him what he was supposed to do. I’ve seen him be rude to customers and he has been rude to me when I rented a truck here. It was a “guaranteed rental” and we did not get the equipment we needed with that truck rental like we were supposed to. Again, he didn’t tell me that we wouldn’t be getting the appliance dolley, I had to go ask and he did not apologize for the issue. He just said “well I don’t have one of those to give you” and we barely got the last regular dolley. He had to run around and find one for us. Very disorganized location with horrible communication.

She was very attentive and helpful to us getting settled in to our unit. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the experience leading up to my arrival. I called 3 times and my wife called once. Collectively we waited on the phone in excess of 20 minutes for one simple question that never was answered because you stated you were the only one in the office. The third time I called you I told you I had a quick question and you said you’re going to have to continue holding as you were the only one in the office. I told you I had already waited and called several times and you placed me back on hold. Upon my arrival you were there and you told the individual working to only work out of one till bag “3” because you didn’t want to have to count all of the bags every night and it makes it harder on you, your child was there and you were yelling at the child in the break room on several occasions of being there. As you were leaving you told Lacey if she had any questions to call another co worker not to call you. Lastly you walked out and I watched and even took a photograph of you putting your child into your vehicle that was parked in the handicap parking spot. The lack of professionalism from the first interaction until the last is very disappointing. I have forwarded this email to U-Haul corporate in hopes they are able to rectify the situation and provide a better environment for customers and employees a like. V/R Shane Smith

To top it off he made me feel it was my fault he charged my card after being charged for an empty unit. If he would have been doing what he is supposed to do he would know that I was gone for 2weeks. But again he was too busy with personal conversations.

Scott J | Overall ExperienceI wish it were more accessible with my disabilities and it would be helpful if there was 24 hour access when moving into storage to allow for more time for someone who has disabilities and mobility issues resulting in being unable to move very quickly and having very little help. It also doesn't help when it is on such short notice due to leaving a domestic violence situation, along with difficulties getting information needed and actually being able to get the reservation made in a timely manner when I needed it. I have already discussed this with several people along the way, although I realize that very rarely do people truly hear and understand the struggles and limitations of those with disabilities or going through a domestic violence situation, most less both.

If I had to truly critique, I would say it would be nice to offer move in specials like $1, $5, first months rent to new comers. The over all condition of the LARGE facility is nice but some areas could use better lighting to see inside the unit when you are in the warehouse at night. FINALLY please offer 24hr access for those of us who may be night owls and need to do searching or moving after normal business hours.. I again thank you for taking care of my things and not being total SHARKS like some storage facilities can be and only want to auction off your things!!! THANK YOU!!!! *Tracey D*

There were a few occasions where the area where the inside units are were messy, but that is because some people don’t clean up after themselves. All the staff members that I have come across are really nice and the store manager is a rockstar! If I ever need my things stored again, I will definitely use Uhaul!

william l | Online Move InI did not have a good experience from the get-go. It begin with the phone call to follow-up on an email i recieved for a free storage unit for one month. I was left on hold for over 35 minutes until I hung up and went ahead and called the 1 800 number for UHaul and recieve the customer experience i have been known to expect. The attendant was extremely rude,. As I pulled into the parking lot, the store rep came out of the store. Throwing his arms frailing around doing cartwheels to tell me that I have returned my rental in the wrong area. He continued to be persistent about my existence on the property. I was only pulling out of the way to go inside for information on a storage unit. I went inside the store showroom and waited there for over 15 minutes before he arrived back inside along six other new customers. The attendant assisted all the other customers before assisting me. That is when the snowball grew. I really do not think the store representative is in the best interest for the overall experience and expansion for U-haul.

Helped with all questions and the lady that helped with storage, cannot recall her name, walked me to storage unit and showed me how to access it and went over hours and how to come in building to get to units. Truck was clean and ready. Nice facility!

Angel , Brandon are the nicest customers rep’s ever I appreciate how they made sure I was ok with everything . Sometimes people think that . customers service is just making sure your order or questions are answered correctly but it’s not it’s how the delivery is presented to you and I really appreciate that especially considering they had to combine another store’s customers and they still gave great service. Thank you a sincerely happy customer.

Jason P | Online Move InI have had the rental unit for only one day so this is a first impression only. Staff and service at check-in was superior - cheerful and as efficient as possible given a U-Haul computer system that appears to need improvement - my impression on the computer system was based on service to several customers not just myself. Later however, my online experience with my account was fine with no problems. Clean and easily accessible units with covered entry is wonderful option. Since the building is being renovated, we assume it will eventually be cleaner and without obstacles.

The hours were told to me but I always had to wait for an escort to get my belongings in three separate occasions. At one point I was told that I couldn't access my unit due to not having an escort. When I had been able to access my belongings I felt as though I was being hovered over and rushed.
Tracy K | Overall ExperienceThe guy behind the counter when I checked in was very aggravated about doing his job and tried to make any problem was something I was doing wrong. Now I’m sitting outside “my unit” I believe the number he put in my paperwork is incorrect. I put my own lock on my unit while here previously. I planned on getting up early before work and finishing the unload before work. Now I’m sitting out here at 4 In the morning and my key won’t work on the unit number that is on my paperwork. It doesn’t seem like it is the Same unit I was given yesterday while checking in. Now I am going to have to pay for more miles on their truck and another 12 hours on it because I won’t be able to unload it until I get off work, after having hardly any sleep. I am furious right now.

CHARLIE J | Overall ExperienceWhen i first got to the facility, i went in to confirm my storage and once everything was confirmed, it was like the cashier didn’t know what he was doing at first and then they didn’t have my storage cleaned in time, it had ants in it and they laid down pest control in the area but it wasn’t the type of ant killer that would kill the ants right away so i wouldn’t still had ants in my stuff if i didn’t decide to go else where. Not customer friendly at all. However the manager did offer me another storage unit at another place.
