gil wWhile the vehicle was clean of debris, etc., the scented disinfectant or cleaner used was overwhelming and unacceptable. If I would have had the option to NOT have that disinfectant sprayed into the vehicle I would have much preferred that given the way it permeates your clothes and any textiles to be transported. I understand the concept of trying to keep people safe after the pandemic, but maybe it should be a question or option given to future renters as to whether they would prefer NOT to have the vehicle sprayed that way. I was almost nauseous the whole time driving with my window open to try and breathe 'fresh air'. My wife prides herself in running a scent free facility where she produces clothing and textiles from various organic linen and cotton material and now we have to try and air out her entire inventory due to the way that scented product permeates the material.. . . all my clothes had to be washed to try an remove the odor. Please use an unscented product or provide an option to avoid the use of caustic chemicals to 'make us safe'. Everything else about the rental process and service was great and I would highly recommend this location as long as the option for odor free was provided.

Lacy BI was greeted by a young man as soon as I walked in. He proceeded to help me and, as I have dealt with Uhaul before, my car and other info was in the computer so the check in was very fast. He hooked me up and I was gone. No more than 15 minutes. Lovely facility was a lot of open space. Very clean, so much nicer than Concord.

DMITRII MI really appreciated the service provided to me at the Dublin, CA. location. Customer Service was on point in making my visit short, efficient, and to the point. I didn't have to wait long before my presence was acknowledged while waiting patiently in line. All of my questions were answered rather quickly. Picked up the retail truck, took care of the work that needed to be done and on my return, recv'd efficient, effective customer service once again. Joey did a good job of schooling me on best practice when doing a brief inspection of the truck, after I returned it. He didn't have to do all that he did. But I did mention to him that I would need to use your services again for a rental truck in the future. Amado GThe van I rented had a radio that didn't work. When I picked it up it had an 1/8 tank of gas, which I thought all vehicles had to be returned with a full tank or pay for you to refill. Quite disappointing that I had to fill a tank and only use 2/3 of it. One more way to nickle and dime a profit.

I had emergency to take care, and I told the person that help us that it is emergency I would like to book the same one for next week same day Wednesday, he refused to do so. He told me I have to charge you full amount even I told him I have emergency I’m not canceling total I will rent your truck next week. You can charge me for next week he told me no I can’t and I ask for upper management , he told me he is the general manager of the store so I asked him can you help me please? It’s not fair to charge me for full amount and I have emergency today but I promise you that I will be back next week we always rent our U-Haul from you guys , he told me I don’t care I have to charge you. It’s sad as a general manager he could simply cancel the reservation and charged for next week i drive off and got back in 15 minutes, it wasn’t like he didn’t had more trucks in stock. Entire lot was full of trucks You have so many trucks stock up you could charge me for next week and we continued business but you decide to charge me and don’t help me !! Very disappointed. I will not recommend anyone to this store, especially have this general manager running the business. This is not the way to conduct the business. Customer satisfaction is number one customer pay your bills if there’s no customers there’s no business I hope , he learned from his mistake fix his bad business so U-Haul always have good customers but with that management you could destroy the business. He’s a bad manager not a good leader I don’t know how he become a general manager shame. I’m very disappointed. !!! I was handed my contract and told to confirm mileage and fuel level. Fuel level was off. So I took a picture of the gas gauge, went back inside and waited in line. When I got up to the Representative to tell him. He asked me if I was sure. Then I showed him the picture. This would have been all taken care of had they walked me out.

GARY GGetting someone on the phone is a challenge with any company these days. Companies default customers to the web page for “immediate service”. Some of us are old and don’t want to fumble around on the internet and some of us are calling from a vehicle and can’t access the internet while driving. - U-haul should randomly call locations and time how long it takes to talk to a human being or employee who can help a customer. The employees are great, they listened and suggested items I might want or need for the move. Would definitely recommend U-haul.
barry cDon’t understand why when I paid my bill was $38 if I charged $60 if I paid cash. This makes no sense. Was not a problem just anti-intuitive.
Robert TUnknown. The truck was clean, comfortable and very road worthy (suspension, steering, power) making an 800 mile one-way move as pleasant as a 12 hr drive through mountain ranges could be. Also, very acceptable mileage.

bradly cThey don’t have tap to pay. I had to request someone to bring a physical card. Extremely inconvenient. Also, I made the reservation in advance and when I arrived the lady was asking me questions as though I had not. How many miles I’ll be driving, if I wanted the insurance, etc. I did everything online to save time and saved absolutely NONE. Lastly, when they asked for another phone number, I didn’t have one to give them. I don’t have friends, or family that I communicate with. So “in case of emergency” you’re best of calling my job…but I ended up giving her the phone number of someone I haven’t talked to in years because that’s all I had. She proceeds to ask who it was. I said “a friend”. She said what’s the friends name … so I gave her a name. However, while I was waiting for someone to bring me a physical card I listened to another customers interaction, THEY DID NOT ASK WHAT THE PERSONS NAME WAS. Why she decided it was her job to throw salt on an open would have someone that doesn’t have anyone to call in case of emergency is beyond me. Tasteless, insensitive, immature. I’ll never go back here because of her.

My RV’s catalytic converter was stolen while stored at the property. No one seemed to want to improve security, just said oh well and moved on even when it has happened multiple times in the past. They even raised my rental rate right after the catalytic converter incident occurred.
Raymond B | Overall ExperienceU-haul sent a letter telling me the rent was going up, but if I came in and paid the old amount before the due date each month, U-haul would charge the old amount. While my husband and I were waiting the assistant manager called U-haul storage internal customer service, who verified that was true. My husband and I went in the end of November, to pay for the month of December early. When she tried to access my account, it would not allow my old payment amount. She called the same U-haul storage business segment and was told that the old price was only extended for as long as the months that were paid. That was not what she was told the month before. She was in the process of trying to find out more information. The manager stepped in and said that there was nothing that could be done. This is while the assistant manager was still on the phone. We explained what had happened and felt that U-haul should support what I was told when I got the letter. He asked, in a snide way, what made me special that I should pay the old amount. He said that he's been there for 10 years. By this time he was yelling. He told the assistant manager to go to the office. I was a v.p. and general manager of 3 bank offices, at the same time and never treated any customer like that, nor would I allow an employee to do so. I used to think U-haul was a reputable company, not anymore. I've moved to a different company. The manager has been there too long. He thinks he's a hammer and everyone else is a nail. How do you resolve anything with a person who doesn't even listen, thinks he has the right to yell and make snide remarks in public. May be he acts like a bully because he has always gotten his way, or because my husband and I are 71?

JEREMY M | Overall ExperienceI recently purchased a 5x5 unit, which is located inside a building. The website states that I could have access to it until 10pm Mon-Sun. I tried to drop off some expensive items at 8:30pm on my way to catch a flight home for Christmas. When I arrived, the door to the building where my unit is located was locked. The office was closed. The hours posted for the holiday season dont go into effect until tomorrow. I called customer service to see if someone could unlock the building where my unit was located. I was told they would put me on hold but, instead was disconnected. I called back. The second person told me it's the company's policy that indoor units can only be accessed during office hours. That wasn't the product I purchased. The customer service representative told me it sucks but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm Active Military and only in the area for a short while. I only purchased use of this unit for the time I would be home for the holidays and not in the area. I'm now out $100 and forced to leave thousands of dollars of equipment in my vehicle at an airport parking lot instead of being able to utilize the storage unit I purchased. If the access hours are different for various storage units, that needs to be disclosed before purchase. I paid extra to have the peace of mind of using a well known company vs a smaller, local company to avoid such issues. The lack of information about what I actually purchased and poor customer service have left me very dissatisfied.

Staff were almost always there at the counter to help customers, which is to say I rarely had to wait for service. When I did have to wait for a staff person to return to the counter, it usually wasn't for very long. The younger staff are not friendly, but they do their job. The older staff are pleasant and friendly and i always felt like i was getting better service when the staff were kind, gentle and pleasant.

JENNIFER L | Overall ExperienceI rented a cargo trailer that was recommended, but ended up being too small. So had to order another trailer last night at 7pm. I had to leave my UHaul out on the street when the store closed, to hook up another trailer. Rented a 10x10, but you all close access to the gates and storage too early (7pm), so I had to rent at Oublic Storage (who has access until 9pm). Brought the open air trailer back at 10pm (3 hours later), but couldn’t easy return it, as the clerk apparently never checked the unit in. Then I had to wait on the phone in a woman who was trying to fix it. I had to send pics. Then I had to buy a hydraulic jack so I could lift my full cargo trailer back on my truck at 11pm.

George A | Overall ExperienceOverall, this experience was great in theory, but poor in execution. Our unit was supposed to be ready to go with a lock inside, but when we arrived, the unit had a padlock on it. We had to drive back out the entrance and go inside the store (which we were trying to avoid due to COVID) to finally track down someone who could come unlock it. This was after I'd tried calling only to have the line hang up. The guy unlocked the unit while we were still unloading stuff so we didn't get a chance to make sure there was a lock inside before he took off. Sure enough, there wasn't a lock, so we had to make a second trip back up to the front and into the store, where this time there was a long line of people (again, trying to socially distance here), to ask for the lock. All in all, I can't complain too much - it was free with the truck rental. But for something that was advertised as effortless, this took a ton of time and social interaction we just weren't prepared for.
R H | Online Move InGreg Ordonez was absolutely wonderful. He was very helpful from the very beginning to the very end. He got me two storage units right away when I needed storage. He was very helpful when the movers I hired, Uhaul-IHaul, screwed me over. I can’t say enough good things about Greg’s service, he is very efficient and extremely caring especially with the pandemic that we are going through. We need more workers like him. Thank you Greg!

regnial a | First ImpressionsI reserved a 10x20 unit and a 10x10 unit. I was delayed in my return of the 26’ Truck and checking into the storage unit due to protest. I called the service center and sent messages daily to inform them of my progress and when I expected to arrive to the storage unit. When I did arrive and attempted to check into the storage unit, I was told I had no reservation and they didn’t even have a unit in that size available for me. I was able to pull up my emails showing my reservations, but it didn’t matter because they had already rented it out. I chose this storage location because I had 12’ kayaks with me, and I needed the 20’ storage unit. The store did offer me 2 10x10 units instead. But it was less than ideal and I had to purchase a 3rd unit as well because I had to store my kayaks in the unit at a less than ideal angle do to the small size of the unit. I plan on contacting customer service at a soon and discussing the cost of a 3 10x10 units vs the cost of a 10x20 unit. The people working in the store were courteous and helpful, and I don’t think that it was there fault. I’m not sure where the issue was, but it made it an extremely unpleasant experience. In the future I can’t say for certain that I will use UHaul storage again.

( they ended up giving me a bigger one at same rate) but the fact that I had to wait when I had done the online reservation plus I had to go home and try to find a unit that I could used to no success I ended up renting one there indoors which made my moved a lot harder plus delayed my whole day.
