Used the self pick up app and first. I couldn’t get through to get my rental on my own and I had to call an agent. Then when I finished the process to get the code to the lock. There was no key for my rental and I had to go thru 2 agents and got sent to a location that was opened. I could’ve just gone in person instead of wasting my time on the mobile app. Then I got to the location and they didn’t have my information to get my rental I already paid for on the self pick up. I had to go through another 2 agents. They did process my information needed fast to the location but at this point I’ve wasted nearly 2 hours trying to get my rental. When I could’ve just gone in person.

His peaceful demeanor and clear communication made the entire process smooth and pleasant. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and the access hours were very convenient. Weeks in advance, I reserved a 26' ft. truck. However, on the day to pick up, I was told I wasn't in the system for a pickup. However, this is my experience. All I want to know is Why I wasn't in the system to have a truck that that was "Roadway Ready"? I was given a truck that was not roadway ready. The Passenger seatbelt didn't click and wasn't secure. I was full loaded and had a deadline to unload at my destination when my passenger "Click the Seatbelt". On the highway, the truck "JERKED" most of the way. It was a rough drive, and I was in a terrible handicap removing myself from the rough drive. After arriving to my destination, I was in bed from the jerking and rough drive. "I felt handicap". I reported my experience to the U-Haul employee who received the keys at the location destination. U-Haul employees MUST never allow this to ever happen to a renter again. I'm late sending this complain to you because this is the first day after arriving, I'm able to feel my normal self after the rough drive. Linda Herrod U-Haul Renter

I hadn’t been to an automated facility before, so the instructions about how to get in and out were lacking. The guy at the desk took three times to understand what I was saying, that I had done everything online and just needed to know how to get into the unit. He couldn’t read the facility map because the print was so small. Then failed to tell me how to use the security panels. So I had to figure out everything on my own.

My original drop off location at Mobil on 15th North first avenue was not prepared to receive a trailer. The person working did not want to take the trailer initially, and there was no designed spot to park the trailer. And of course no help to detach the lever. I had tried to contact customer service for over 90 mins and I was never able to reach anyone. The live agent was not helpful either through the chat. And took numerous attempts to convince them to connect me with customer service. Truly stressful experience. It took around 2 hours to get a new drop off location.

First location was unmanned. Had to transfer to second location. Now an hour behind, truck buried in the midst of the parking lot. Completely soaked to the bone having to go back and forth with the agent to move the other trucks. Hour later in a driving rain storm, driver's side windshield wiper fails. UHaul offers that we ought to return to our origin or wait for roadside assistance - both additional hours behind schedule. Bought wiper at advanced auto parts. Installed myself. Arrive on site to load truck more than two hours behind schedule. The schedule was important to this trip. Uhaul made promises of discounts and refunds, but like the rest of the experience never followed through.

I picked up the U-Box in Bellwood. I had been told I could pick it up on Sunday but when I called to confirm, the woman was so very helpful and shared I could not pick it up but helped me get an appointment for Monday at my desired time. When I both picked up the box and dropped it off, everyone was very helpful and cautious regarding correctly attaching it to my car. Highly recommend both this location and U-Box.

You guys have it together! I moved out of state and had to communicate with many different companies/vendors during that time. My #1 comment is you guys do it right! This was the second location.. the first location at 400 N. Mannheim was using personal phone devices to take pictures of customers drivers license. The second place no one was inside the facility and even after returning the equipment attendant walked away for about 15 minutes and I had to go and find them..

The hole experience was really bad the two wheel dolly was not connected correctly so along the way I was in an accident. The trailer came unhooked while driving and caused a wreck on the expressway. My car was damaged and I had to go to the hospital

I had an amazing experience and would highly recommend to anyone needing to self pack/move belongings from state to state. I wud recommend for convenience, not so much customer service and communication that needs to improve greatly at this location. The young lady who was helping me conclude my truck rental walked away with someone else without an explanation and left me waiting a while, I'm disabled. I went over to employee Mark. He stopped cleaning the truck to help me I greatly appreciated that. I'm a repeat customer of rental and storage in good standing. And I am disabled so Customer service and communication is important. She forgot about me, it was obvious when I saw her again... I had to find another employee to help me so Thank you to Mr. Mark for your kind assistance. I appreciate you stopping what u were doing to help me.

I was originally scheduled to pick up truck & trailer in Mount Prospect, Il 60056 as I live in Mt Prospect. Got confirmation email and then the day before my pickup they switched to this location in Bellwood which is 45 min from my house. Was told thru would add extra miles to my account. That never happened. Very frustrating and a waste of my time.

This letter is to let you know you have 2 outstanding humans working at your 25th Avenue location. This past Sunday my husband and I picked up a tailer from the U-Haul location at 950 25th Ave in IL. Upon arrival at the U-Haul location the gentleman that greeted us (Antonio) was full of happiness and helpfulness. Pick up was easy and we were on our way. As we left the lot I mentioned to my husband that I thought the young man was simply charming. And that it was so refreshing! My husband responded with “And he knows what he is doing too!” Upon returning to the U-Haul location on 25th Ave. (after a long day helping our daughter move) we were once again greeted by the helpful smiling face of Antonio. We stopped to have him tell us where we should leave the trailer, he gave us the instructions and then… our car died! Yep, right there in the middle of the parking lot! The car was not going anywhere! From that point on both Antonio and Keith were nothing but helpful and upbeat about assisting us with whatever we needed to get our car working again, or towed or even to leave it there overnight if needed. In the end AAA came and towed us to our dealership so all was resolved. I would like to close with how genuinely happy these two young men made us. They went above and beyond from the minute we entered the lot in the morning to the minute we left in the evening. U-Haul is lucky to have them. Julia E.

I was taught, if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all. However, I will say the ONLY thing that went smoothly was: 1) making the initial reservation 2) the packers and unpackers on both sides (not Uhaul employees) The boxes arrived 2 days late, although I just made the reservations 10 days prior and paid the deposit I did not reply to an email sent the day before asking me if I still wanted the boxes… OF COURSE I still want the boxes I just made the reservation 10 days ago!!! (Because of this,I had to change my flight reservation to my new home which cost me $$$) THEN when the packers arrived we opened the boxes to discover NO pads were included …I called Uhaul to ask if someone could bring the pads over and was told no one was available …SO I had to drive over to pick up the pads to find two employees sitting there looking at their phones. ( in order to keep the packers at our home longer then they expected we paid them more$$$) THEN the shipment arrived at our new home 5 days late so, of course, once again, I had to change my flight reservation to get back which cost more $$$ I’ve worked in customer service my entire life and have never encountered such incompetence! I will say, Uhaul did reimburse me $150. for a small portion of my extra expenses.

On the last day of the move, the hired mover asked for a mover code and I had to call customer service to find out. You could save a customer service call if you had just texted or emailed the code directly to me. Other than that everything was great!

Maria De Santos and team should be lauded for this U-Haul facility. I have had this unit for several years and at one point had multiple units at this location and they supplied my truck for the move to Florida. This Maywood facility is exceptional, the staff have ALWAYS been great and super helpful. The facility is always clean, the lights all work great and even the restrooms were always clean and well stocked. I have recommended this facility to several people and would continue to do so. They don’t monitor the units when the alarm sounds they just cut it off. Anybody could come in and out and no one would stop them. The manager doesn’t respond and they put auto Charges on your card without consent

When I came to move into the facility in East Bellwood, they had reserved the wrong unit for me. I was supposed to be in 1334 per the initial contract. But when I got there that room was occupied with another person's lock. And the room next door to it 1332 was available with a new green moving tag on it. So there was just a little confusion on my move-in day. I had to wait till the next day to get everything rectified. And the process to change units was painless. The staff was very helpful.

I really enjoyed working with Larry, he's a burst of energy and always attentive. It's nice to deal with people with positive attitudes who treat you like a person and not a number. I would definitely recommend this location and would use Uhaul again when needed.

I like that the units were inside and the high level of security. Although some units required a bit of walking to get to I would definitely use this facility again. Also the prices were posted in large print and there were no unexpected surprises with price changes as I have experienced at other storage companies. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Larry was very pleasant and made my decision easy to want to rent and even upgrade the size of my unit. Demetrius was very helpful… he went out of his way to get a closer storage unit so when we have to unload we didn’t have to far to unload… I liked the fact I didn’t have to ask he saw there was a problem and fixed it!!!

Saida Romero provided me with excellent customer service. The other two Black ladies treated me aweful. They refused me a truck and dollies that where clearly available for rent and other services. I am Black also so this is not a racially motivated comment.

Jasmin at the desk helped me out so much with my storage unit. When booking online picking the right size storage room was very difficult. I either got a smaller storage from what i originally picked or just picked wrong size. Jasmin was so nice and helped me pick a bigger storage and closer to the loading dock. She made my 1st experience with uhaul very easy and fast.
