Sandi a | Overall ExperienceThe truck was fine, clean and appeared well maintained. The tow dolly was not.The rep at checkout said all lights were working. We loaded the truck then put the car on the dolly. When it was time to leave the following vehicle saw that the lights weren’t working on the dolly. We made sure all connections were correct and they were. We headed back to the rental location to get a different dolly. Then attendant was very dismissive and declared that he had no other dollies and had no one to repair the one we had “There is nothing I can do.” He then did some tests and again said there was nothing he could do. Then he called the dispatcher who arranged for us to pick up a dolly at another, satellite, location. We went to the satellite location, (U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer at 710 East Lincolnway, Cheyenne WY) and we found a very helpful attendant who was helping other customers so had a bit of a wait. She didn’t have a dolly but did say there was a flat trailer. Then she hailed someone who came to check the dolly electrical. Within about half an hour he had repaired the two faulty taillights, a fuse in the truck, and had us moving again. Overall, we lost about two hours trying to get on with our move. To make it better? Hire people that can interact positively with customers. Hire enough people to cover the company obligations. Make sure the trailer repair crews do adequate work. It was pretty obvious that the left taillight wires had been poorly repaired.

BRUCE TI rented a cargo van for 2 and a half hours I was charged 41 dollars. It was in town maybe 20 miles. I was ok with that after about an hour and a half of dropping it off I get a 27 dollar charge. I called up there and asked what the separate charge was. She told me it was a "cleaning fee" so granted I got the rubber mat a little muddy but a bush groomed a lot of it out so wouldn't have taking much. To take the rubber mat out and spray it down alittle you charged 27 dollars for that? 20 minutes 27 dollars. I would have expected like 10 bucks but wth.? I think I'm more annoyed about them not even telling me they were charging me no email, text, phone call nothing?
MATTHEW NThe team supporting U Boxes in Fort Collins and San Diego are phenomenal. They know what needs to be done and communicate well along the way. This is a huge improvement over my experience a few years back. Awesome job all!

VICKI SI was booked for a toy hauler for a month. 4 days before my move they called and said they never had a toy hauler. So I had to drive the u haul and my personal vehicle to Pennsylvania. Costing me more on gas and wear on my truck. When I went to pick up my u haul their system was down causing extra time to be wasted at the pick up location. And after all that they only gave me a 10% discount off my uhaul rental.

I verified the function of the lights and everything was operating correctly. But it was very frustrating towing a vehicle over two thousand miles.

SUE SRented a 15' truck to facilitate a move across town. The staff were excellent, but the downer on this rental was the mechanical integrity of the truck!! I mistakenly used an interstate connecting route in my commute which made me realize that speeds above 55mpg resulted in extreme vibration/noise with the unit. I've never had an issue like this with a UHaul truck before, but it makes me wonder if the company rents the "tired and ready to be decommissioned units for local rentals. It sucks if that's true, but this is exactly how I feel about my entire experience this time. I love UHaul. I love the lower profile and ramp for easy loading. Unfortunately, this time was frustrating and gave me a sense of anxiety because of the questionable mechanical integrity of this truck.
PHILLIP CI received a ton of misinformation and was denied delivery once my boxes arrived which led to my boxes being delivered 2 days after the "deliver by date". Due to poor equipment, they also could not deliver all of my boxes at once. The workers are making up excuses at every turn and money grabbing for the company. I really thought better of U-Haul, but I will not be using them in the future. I don't know how two U-Haul locations could be so different, but the Michigan location is terrible.

KIMBERLY BI recieved metal boxes for my move instead of the ply wood boxes. This was much better and I am very happy I was given the metal boxes. The problem is that there was no way for me to choose the metal boxes during the process that I am aware of. It seems like I just got lucky. Outside of that, using U-Box was perfect for my move!

RUSSELL TI had some questions upon returning the rental. And the staff was very helpful in answering my questions.
JULIE KEquipment was not available at my location at pickup time. I was never alerted of this and the suggestion was that I go pick it up and put it on by myself. Finally someone went and got it for me. I also asked for a vehicle inspection to make sure my car was okay to tow the trailer. This never happened, they just checked that the lights worked.
MARYA KI have been at this facility for several years. So far have been through two previous managers. Brant is the BEST manager this location has had. This location is always kept clean. Chris does an excellent job. Tracey, Melissa and the new employee Kelly are always friendly and willing to help. As long as I need to use storage it will ALWAYS be with this location.

To my surprise, they had one available and was willing to work with me on the hours I needed. When I was finished getting stuff out of our storage unit, there was some stuff left that there was no way I could get out. I talked to them, and they were willing to let me leave it in the unit, and they would get it out and discard it. Great customer service for sure!!

William B | Overall ExperienceMy best friend and I used uhaul storage for 3 years and for the most part we never had much of an issue outside of a few communication issues. At one point they did have 24 hours access and that was changed with out any notice to the customers which as you can imagine was quite irritating. But about a week or 2 ago. As the unit prices continued to increase, also without notice to customers we made the decision to close out our unit. In the process of doing so we spent 2 days moving our stuff. Well an employee of the facility offered to take the mattress and box spring to the dumpster for us without mentioning that they actually couldn't do that unless we paid $100. So then I almost got charged for that and for a couch when the same employees took the cushins to the dumpster before we dropped off the couch so I was accused of dropping off a couch that wasn't complete and almost charged yet another $100. After speaking to Tracy who lacks every professional and social skill on the planet she said she would speak to the GM and call me back well I never received a call back. Well then there was an issue with us loosing the key to our lock for the unit. We asked for assistance and again Tracy said she couldn't help due to uhaul policy. After finding me personally on Facebook after business hours (stalking) she magically came up with a solution the day of our deadline, a solution that could have been utilized a week prior. We then rented a pickup to move the last few items in our unit somewhere else. Upon return of the truck using the mobile check in option it states to park the truck in the lot not blocking any exits or doors. As I'm finishing up the check in process to return the truck some employee named Lindsay comes out and very rudely tells me I have to move the truck to the "drop off lane" which by doing so then blocked the exit for us to leave when we were done. After very rudley yelling at me from across the parking lot she proceeded to go back inside and sit at the desk doing absolutely nothing playing on her phone. The last week has truly shown me how far down hill this facility has gotten. And until staffing changes or people get better training on how to deal with customers, proper work ethic and general proper social skills we nor anyone we know will be returning. Also the keypad to check in and out needs a new screen. You can't read it to see if you are properly in or out.

If you or someone is not moving in the main hallway while your working inside your unit the lights go off and you have to stop what your doing and walk all the way back to the main hallway just to get the lights to turn back on so you can continue to work for another 20 minutes or so until they turn off again

Robert P | First ImpressionsFinally pulled my camper out of your storage unit after dealing with dead batteries continuously and informing the staff each time it happened which was easily 6-8 times over my stay there. They claimed”oh someone must have just used something that pulls too much power and it popped the breaker….” Total BS. I’ve talked to multiple other people that has had to deal with the same!! Tired of paying $115/month for a “storage place” that is suppose to have 2hrs of power everyday! I plugged in a small timer that runs when von texted to power. It NEVER moved unless I went inside and complained about not having power. You FALSE ADVERTISE that you will get power each day to draw customers in when in reality you DO NOT GIVE POWER EVERYDAY. Your gate CONSTANTLY went out as well and had to go into the store to have one of the staff memeber walk over and help me in. Then most of the time, they would get upset about it because they were just as tired of doing it as we as customers are with having to deal with it. The snow there was also suppose to be plowed when it snowed. It has had 2 ft drifts throughout the entire driving area this year with it not even being bothered to have the snow removal done. I’m glad I didn’t absolutely have to get my camper out when the snow was drifted up that bad. Would NOT have been possible. Customers beware of this storage unit!!

Alarm is annoying and it seems to go off often, remote to access camper is often not usable, and ice builds up badly in certain spots by campers, but even with these few annoyances it is still a good spot to store as it’s covered and has timed electricity to campers.

When I asked for a reasonable accommodation to call the office to check in rather than walking in die to having severe R.A. I was told my disability is an excuse and I'd be required to come inside. Very rude manager. The rest of the staff members were nice and always made me feel welcome. But the manager is a whole different story. Sensitivity training would be highly recommended.

After driving your 26' truck 900 miles and to arrive to the storage facility, just to find out U-Haul doesn't guarantee your reservation, was most disappointing. It cost more time to have to unload a large amount of our things due to having to walk a distance inside, rather then just opening the unit that was outside. It was a major disappointment. If you're reservations are guaranteed, then it truly makes no sense to reserve. We rented A truck, tow tolly, and a storage unit from U-Haul, just to to find out that there is no commitment for the customer.

He set me up in an outdoor unit when my reservation was for indoor climate control , showed me how to get into the building and when asked where my unit was he just pointed and said I had to punch the number in the pad on the brick. When I went back in after looking closer at my reservation the lady who the helper said that she would get it straightened out and would refund our first month free for the trouble. There is still a charge on my account for the full amount.

The employees are very nice, but the facility is grossly understaffed, and they are not able to keep up with everything. I would never recommend this place.

After 6 hours of loading a 26 ft uhaul, I arrived at the storage place to retrieve my RESERVED 10×20 unit. I was informed that they don't have 10×20 units (contrary to their website which let me reserve on FROM THEM) and that I'd have to take a 10×15. At 4 p.m. on a Saturday with a 26 ft truck containing my entire life outside, I had no other choice but to take it. Big mistake. After 6 more hours of unloading (to the second floor, no less), I realized that I would have a to find somewhere to unload the remaining contents that would not fit...but would have if the unit was the correct size...at 10 pm on a Saturday night...when the uhual was due back. I am beyond upset.
