The place is extremely small. There's no room to drive a 26 foot truck. This should not be a rental truck return place. They dont have any space for them and makes it harder for the customer to access there storage units. I was blocked in by other customers. People parking trucks and cars every where because its no space.

Finally asked for his help and he had no idea what was going on. 10 minutes later we find my truck and I take it to get my destination. I had forgotten to check back because I was already late and frustrated with the help. The dolly and fabric protectors were no where the be found. Had to go back to the pickup location and take a dolly cause there was a line of customers at the door and the employee was nowhere to be found. Never got the fabric protectors. Will not be using your services again.
Sean DAll of the personnel are what made this facility an excellent choice. The staff member, Kaitlyn, arrived at work 20 minutes earlier than they open and yet she kindly helped me with the keypad. She, and all the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this storage!!!

I gave change of address and phone numbers to two different employees, the second employee confirmed my changes to my account that I had given to the first employee. I was unable to get someone to answer the phone for days, made me feel as if they were avoiding me, when they answered the phone the employee was scared to answer my questions and told me the letter was sent to the wrong address. I really need answers not excuses. There was a cookware set that was a gift from my mother six months before she passed back in 2020. On the day of pick up I received an email around 9AM advising that I had to go to another location, which would have added approximately an additional thirty (30) miles, not to mention the extra time. And that would have cost additional fees. I requested the Roper Mountain location because it was the closest to where I needed it. It is not a very good practice to just randomly change the pickup/drop off location. You might want to consider relocating the vehicle requested to the original pick-up place, to much better serve your customer. I ended up changing it to a 10' truck, which I might add I had trouble getting into since I am a 73-year-old woman with problems with my legs. The van would have been the much better choice.

JESSICA GVery poor customer service by the assistant manager. My business has used this location multiple times for our business needs. We have rented a truck from one afternoon to the next afternoon. Previously, we were issued a refund if the system charged for 2 days rental (over 24 hours but returned before closing on the return day). However, the assistant manager chose not to issue a refund this time, we were charged for 2 days rental for a 28 hour rental. Certainly, their right to do so but his decision did not garner good will from this customer. As a result, we will find another rental company for our business and personal needs.

LAZARO VThe place is understaffed, and although the ones I didn't interact were helpful, it was clear they didn't have a lot of training. Even though I was using the app, I was NEVER notified when my storage unit was locked by the facility. The first time was bc I missed the pay date, that was my fault. The SECOND time was because I wasn't using the U-Haul lock when I was NEVER told that I had to have one. I was under the impression that it optional, and the staff member who did help wasn't fully aware of this either. Also the facility advertised it was temperature controlled, but the reality is it was not evenly tempered. I don't know if the building is old or if the air system needs to be repaired, but my area was not getting any of the air and was subject to temperatures influenced by the weather. Finally there is a problem with location. I know you have no control over this, but this would be the primary reason I wouldn't recommend using it to others. Traffic is increasing on Roper Mountain Rd. and getting in and out was very difficult during the day. Getting in from Woodruff Rd. was the only way in without stopping traffic, and getting out was hard because you have to wait for an opening. There are certain times of the day, and even some weekends were easier with traffic, but otherwise I needed to plan a minimum 30 minutes even though I live not 10 minutes away.

CURTIS CWhen I arrived at this location on January 20, 2025, I had already scheduled the day before to pick up a cargo van. Once there, the gentleman at the desk started to check me in and then all of a sudden he said abruptly oh I can’t rent to you. You have an E alert on your account. I had no idea what that meant so I asked him what does that mean because I knew the U-Haul that I previously rented on January 18th, 2025 that broke down on me twice and had to get towed from North Carolina to South Carolina was picked up on January 19th , 2025 and there shouldn’t have been any issues. He told me “I’m not gonna lose my job trying to rent you a U-Haul” at that point after my experience just a couple of days before with U-Haul, I didn’t have the energy to go back-and-forth so I called the number that was on the paper with the E alert that he gave me. Customer Service was a complete disappointment. It was clear that I was dealing with incompetence all around me. After calling the tow truck driver from the day before he remembered me and offered to call roadside assistance to try to clear things up. He called me back and told me that there was a supervisor already working on it. After about 45 minutes of going back-and-forth with Customer Service and begging to speak to a manager, the the worker at the U-Haul location, got an alert that they were able to lift the E alert off my account. My issue is this worker tried to embarrass me and almost accused me of being a thief not knowing my situation prior to arriving that day. After hearing me explaining to the customer service representative from E alert how my U-Haul broke down on me twice and I had to sit around for over four hours in a random parking lot in North Carolina waiting for a tow really begging for a tow. That’s when his empathy kicked in. This is a mixed review because at the end I did end up getting decent Customer Service but the way I was initially treated like a thief wasn’t right and he should have not assumed that I was trying to put him in a position to lose his job. Extremely unprofessional it’s clear there’s still training that needs to be done at this location.

JAVON GVehicle had a transmission issue that raced at stops. At one intersection the truck raced at a complete stop and pushed me into traffic w/ full brakes applied. Almost chose to park the truck and call for assistance but was not far from drop off. Left a note (hand written) in the actual truck after hours drop off because nobody answered my calls to the office within normal hours of operation as posted on website. Nobody at rental office answered phones and it’s likely nobody paid attention to my note left in the truck about the issue. If there was someone there who had been interested in my issue I would have given more info. But no call or reply was received. I should actually receive a refund in full or in part, but that would require a small degree of attention from the rental office. MW
MARK WThe young lady who helped me was so patient and understanding. She reasoned with me about my qualms and helped when I’d gone through 2 trucks that were showing error messages and showed her clear knowledge of her work. It’s hard to find people who can still show kindness in customer service positions and she was able to do so . We really appreciated everything she did.

ADRIENNE WThe ONLY issue I had with this particular one is the location. During hours of extremely high traffic on Roper Mtn Rd, it is very difficult to enter said location. That's all really. Other than that, it's a very short distance to where we live which is a plus.
JAMES SThe door of the vehicle that I was given was damaged and when I went back to the office I was told that I needed to "slam it hard to get it to shut" this is not an acceptable answer, and I did not feel 100% safe in this particular vehicle. Other than that It had not been swept out, and that the security tag for the blankets was missing,, although I did not use them, I do not want to be charged for them, it did the job that it had to do. I am a bit upset with the mileage charges as this is a bit extreme for a local move and with a vehicle that has over 134,000 miles on it...
WAYNE GWas charged double for rental. Took over 300 dollars from me instead of 150 awaiting refund after calling customer service. Door on U-Haul I was rented didn’t close near the top like it was bent outwards like driving with windows down on highway

The U-haul reps. at this location did rectify my situation. But that is a serious problem that a customer could be charged for a previous customer's left-overs that should have been removed.

Takes too much time to take all the photos, selfies, etc. Also be more clear about all pricing and that the $19 is not all youll end up paying. For a little over an hour of renting a truck, I spent over $150.00 when all was said and done. Be more upfront about the fact that your trucks do not get great mileage on fuel. Drove the truck to my home that was 3 miles away and then 1 mile to donation center and then 3 miles back to rental location. Upon return, the gas mileage went way down once we were parked and then it made it look like we used more thus now I'm paying for gas because the mileage is way off (digitized). Cost was way, way more than anticipated once I completed my return truck check-in. All of a sudden, the real total pops up and youve got no way to dispute it at that point. Will never rent again when I have a need, especially through this process.

selena k | Overall ExperienceThe truck ignition would not turn on. I had to keep moving the steering wheel and finally it started The first truck I was assigned had a bad drivers seat wore out and slid you towards the door. You need to repair the trucks. Plus the mirrors were very hard to adjust
RUTH HI ordered my U Haul on September 12th for pick-up on October 24th. (So PLENTY of advance notice.) My order included 24 furniture pads to protect my furniture during my move to Ohio. When I arrived to pick up my rental, I was informed that "we don't have that many pads." The associate gave me all he had at no charge, but that was only 2 pads! Of course I couldn't transport all my furniture with only 2 pads, so I spent the next several hours driving to Home Depot, Walmart, etc trying to find enough furniture pads for my move. That was time I didn't have since the movers were coming first thing in the morning, and I was very frustrated.

KYLE HThe facility is also a Uhaul storage facility. I have a unit rented. The lack of flat bed (platform) moving trucks is so rediculous. There were five trolleys PER building (10 trolleys) when I began renting. I use them regularly to move heavy boxed items and large heavy furniture in and out of my 3rd floor unit many times. Now there is ONE (and sometimes 2 if someone didnt leave it in their unit) for two buildings (both three stories tall) of well over 100 units. And the trucks that are not the flat bed design. They both have side bars permanently installed so that only unique shaped items like picture frames that can fit between the multiple bars can fit. So I now have a very large unit with a over a dozen very heavy items that I cannot physically remove from my storage unit. Its l so bad that I had to go buy a flat bed trolley truck just so I could move a large/heavy oak table and armior. Its so bad that I started looking for another storage unit this weekend. Management says that corporate UHAUL wont approve the acquisition of any replacements. Unacceptable ☹️!!

STEFFANIE GUHaul has always been great to me (ease of booking, good equipment), and the reps are friendly and helpful, but corporate needs to figure out a better solution for return of one-way trucks. There are 3 or 4 Uhaul locations near my final destination, but none of them were able to accept my rental truck return because they "didn't have room". So now I am expected to drive additional miles across town and use additional gas to get the truck to the location of their needs. Fine, I can bite the bullet on that - but when I got to the location that THEY instructed me to use via email, the check-in employee told me, "you're going to have to take this truck to XYZ location because we don't have room." Granted, I was a day early because I did not need the truck for the full 3 days (required) for a one-way move, and maybe they didn't have the room (not my issue). Not blaming the employee or the franchise location, but this certainly is not the customer's problem. Genuinely not fair to make a customer drive an additional 30 minutes across town at their own expense. Again, no problem with equipment or pricing or employees - but Uhaul should do better about the ease of long haul truck returns for customers.

When loading the van my foot hung on this mat overhang , resulting in a bad fall across the van and hitting my head on the 1×4 fastened to the wall. Also the back door would not open unless you pryed it open with a screwdriver

There was no one there to check me in. I came back the next day and was told my reservation was not available even though Uhaul Corp said it was. I was given two 3rd floor 10x10's instead of a 10x20 1st floor. I refused the rooms and went elsewhere because no Uhaul locations had this size available. Because of your poor inventory handling I lost my free month.

Dianne B | First ImpressionsHi, The staff at this location are good people and they are very friendly. My below average ranking is due to a number of factors. First of all, the location is terrible. It is hard to get into and out of, and the parking is often all taken up in UHaul vans. At times when I have needed to get things out of storage, or put things in, I have been unable to park near my unit entrance. Secondly, Swiping in and out, and then having to swipe again at the elevator is tedious. One swipe at the elevator should be sufficient. Third despite prominently advertising climate controlled units, few of them actually are. Fourth, I did not know until I arrived late at night that this location, which I had secured online, would not except my rental truck return because it was out of state. After driving all day, on a holiday, I was directed to another facility 8 miles away. Had I known, I would have rented a unit there instead.

As I began unloading the truck and moved a few things up to the storage unit the facility locked me out and I was unable to get my things into my storage unit and had to leave my couch, my bed and my vanity next to the elevator out in the open and my bins of clothes next to my actually storage unit inside. The facility we dropped the vehicle off at was very dirty and if customers have to come in, that would be a concern of mine if I were in a leadership role at Uhaul. I hope you can use this feedback to make positive, impactful changes. The young man at the storage unit was very helpful. The staff at the drop off center were helpful as well but they should have a better facility to work from. I am sure they are doing the best they can. Thank you

Apparently you can get scheduled by centralized service, come to the location and they don’t have what you need because the manager has not trained employees how to update storage units and U-Haul trucks for customers. Very poor experiences and causing extra delays in time in finances when hiring labor to move/unpack.
