The staff was very responsive at the Egg Harbor location, however we had an issue with the 2 wheel dolly (it was not safe for my electric car even though the website said it would work) so I called customer service & they quickly helped me to locate a flat car transport trailer at the absecon store. We went over and the staff was very helpful in switching to the appropriate equipment. I was very impressed with all of the staff members that we interacted with in the store and on the phone- one of the best customer services experiences Ive had recently as it goes to show how well a company works when they have to solve an issue that comes up. Your staff did an excellent job helping us through a stressful experience & putting us at ease!

I rented a 15' truck for a local move. Gave me the keys with 1/4 tank of gas. I've rented a uhaul truck 5 times now, never got a truck with less then 3/4 tank. Also, the truck had really noisy steering. Also the truck had an oil leak and smelled like burnt engine oil when operating. Not thrilled with my last experience which is why I'm taking the time to write a review.

I used the truck for 30 miles and put gas in before I returned the truck. The person at the desk said I owed six dollars and change for gas. When I said I had put gas in the truck they said I still owe for gas. When I asked how much miles per gallon the vehicle get both empty and full they had no answer and just repeated I owe for gas. I saw I would get nowhere and This desk person was set on nickle and dime me for a few extra dollars. Next time I will be sure to take pictures of the mileage on the truck and the gas gauge before I leave since you can't trust the person behind the desk.

Corporate needs to fix there mistakes in the portal, ensure it actually functions at all, correct user names, ensure the proper corp owner gets login corrections, bills, incentives etc and apply those corrections when the customer/I request it not ignore it entirely. This would be my minimum expectation.

The location itself was nice. However, the truck I rented had a leak in the roof that I did not know about until the next morning and most of what was fully loaded truck was soaked after a rainstorm. Upon return of the vehicle, I let the employee know and asked if there was anything he could do with the rental fee to compensate me for the aggravation. I was told no, that their trucks are not guaranteed to be waterproof and that I was welcome to call customer service if I wanted to. Very disappointed that neither corporate, nor the local agents, have the authority to make right something that was not my fault. Moreover, I didn’t even ask for any extra reimbursement for all the boxes I bought or damaged clothing. My advice, check the weather before you book with U-Haul.

Sales person that assisted me in renting the truck was very friendly and helpful. This was only my second time using U-Haul. All my questions were answered efficiently and with respect. You don’t find that in many places anymore. My return trip was handled just as efficiently when I rent the truck. I will rent a truck from U-Haul from that location. She is a credit and an a asset to that store.

U-Haul sucks they rent you screwed up equipment and then they don't want to make good for it then they try to charge you 10 times the amount that you paid to begin with cuz you drop it off somewhere when it's damaged equipment also it messed things up on my vehicle

I compare Haul to other surrogate companies. I have had storage with EXTRA SPACE. They are a truly despicable company.. They appear to believe that once you have rented from them your bank account is theirs to plunder.. Extra Space monthly rates go up whenever they feel like raising them - announced by a tiny, thin postcard that gets lost in the junk mail. Research the company and you will discover that they are NOT in the business of moving and storage - but rather they are a real-estate company.. Their utter disregard for the unfortunate souls who are drawn in by the iconic buildings is apparent in many ways.SInce Exta Space prefers buildings with many floors one has to use elevators most often to get to one's unit. The elevator doors snap closed faster than those in office buildings - and a big sign on them warns renters not to block them. How does one trundle a cart or several boxes per trip...? Haul is clearly a business dedicated to making moving as smooth as possible. Spaces are accessible and well thought out, There is no sign - thus far that UHAUl will jack up rates whenever they see a means to do so. I have yet to have a space for very long - but I have confidence in a company that does not have a hidden agenda and mission statement...

So when I picked up truck at first location, tire low light was on, I mentioned it to the employee that I can’t see mileage bc of light being on (I do have a picture of the dash) I only used the truck for 60 miles, so yes I went over the 50 miles and have no problem paying the extra ten miles I put air in the tire when using vehicle so the light would go off and it said I drove 96 miles and I was charged an extra 50 bucks. If I drove that mileage I would not mind to pay the extra. I added air to the tire so the light went off so we could see the mileage before I dropped it off but before that it was too late. Basically I think the wrong mileage was written, I couldn’t see it because the tpms light was and I was charged extra wrongfully

Again i want truly Uhaul on going above and beyond in keeping customers like me very happy. My valuables for 5 months were in the same condition that i left them back in may. To give a big time kudos the Uhaul employee who understood my emergency situation after i told him i lost my keys. He made away for me to gain access to my storage unit when i told him about i was coming from North Carolina Sunday morning. The gentleman had a kind heart and went out his way to make sure i was completely satisfied again.

Called June 24th to let them know I will be emptying out my storage so I won’t pay, I was told if I don’t pay I won’t have access to it and won’t be able to empty it out so I had to pay for a month the unit will be empty (payed for June 26th 2024 to July 25th 2024) but I emptied out the unit June 27th 2024!!!

I rented Unit K12. The metal near the ground and next to door was rusted through with large holes. This allowed dirt, insects and rodents into the unit. Everything in the unit was covered with dirt. Thankfully, my rattan headboard was covered in plastic. Everything else was mildew and dirty. I reported it to office and the gentleman was helpful and friendly. He gave me the number to file a claim. Now I have to take the time to take pictures of my damaged items and file a claim. I took pictures of the holes in the unit, but he could not help me without filing a claim.

It would have been an excellent experience had there been a utility trailer available at the storage facility (pre-ordered) for load out of the unit. Driving 54 minutes to Vineland, NJ to pick up a trailer and 44 minutes back to Egg Harbor was a misuse of my personal re$ource$ by Uhaul- especially since the rate of rental was 40% higher than just 2 months ago for same equipment.

Only challenges: In past, the access gate would not work but it has been fixed. In past. When I started with storage was told not possible to give me-'or anyone else--24 hour access. When moving out a f member voluntarily gave me 24 hour access so I could complete move out on time. What difference would it make to UHaul if customers had 24 hour access? I rented UHaul trucks there & had excellent experiences. Overall, very good experience. Much better than decades ago.

Too difficult to get anyone on the phone, ever!!!!!! Too many manager changes and when we first set up our storage unit we were out on a wait list for a 10x20. Because of all the manager changes, we got lost in the shuffle and after 2-3 years we never did get a 10x20. When we ended our contract, Alexa wouldn’t even pro-rate our monthly unit. Ridiculous! I’ve never heard of not pro-rating it. Grounds always dirty, gate oftentimes left WIDE OPEN…bad service!

Everyone was so nice and extremely helpful when I picked up and dropped off the trailer. This uhaul was further away then other uhaul I have used, but I have to say I would make that drive again next time I need a uhaul. I also rented a storage unit because we moved not everything would fit in the 26 ft truck and a trailer. The people who helped me with getting the trailer and storage unit were amazing !! I think his name was Gary in egg Harbor Township NJ. So helpful and professional. I also used another uhaul store and I think her name was Sarah ? She helped me get the trailer back in December. She was also sweet, helpful and very professional. You can probably find the name of who helped me with the trailer in December. (If I am wrong) . All 3 people should be recognized for the help, professionalism and kindness. I am disabled and couldn’t have done any of this with out the 3 of them. I truly appreciate you hiring the right people. I have already told so many friends and family about my experience.

Nick was very attentive and thorough in helping me rent out the storage unit. And leader that month when I was closing it out, I had a trailer from a different location. And the staff was so helpful. They went out of their way to assist me. Nick noticed that the tire on the trailer was low and together with Alexa they tried to re-inflate it, and ultimately walked me through the call with customer support to get the tire replaced by U-Haul. While I waited Alexa give me a great restaurant recommendation within walking distance to have lunch and checked in with me, and make sure that everything was all set throughout. Including calling the customer service desk to get an update on the tire repair ETA. Thank you so much. Best U-Haul location I’ve been to.

Out of stores unit there for about 3 years so I wanted to downsize there was a wait. So I decided to stop by one day after work & the manager guy told me that they just had an auction and we're just waiting for the units to be cleaned out. So I stopped in there at least twice a week for about a month because I really needed this unit and he said I was the first one on his list. Because when we started talking about the unit and he asked me for my information the people I really got it from didn't put any of my information in there correctly. Every time I happen to go into the store this new management they don't know what's going on etc it's always the management the employees are helpful and to the point that they need a manager. When I spoke to the young guy at the desk he told me that the manager was back there and you can go back there meet her at your storage unit. I met her at my unit and she told me that for us to cancel your account you will have to move everything out I explained to her about 2-4 times different times and in different ways. I told her that I moved everything out that I wanted and now the rest is on this store because I came in here multiple times a week for about a month to get this unit and stay on top of it every time I come in this new management there's no notes no nothing. Like I said the employees are great very helpful but management sucks and I see why you have new management all the time at the store.

Overall U-Haul gave a "good bang for the buck" rate compared to other storage facilities in the area and the staff were always helpful and pleasant, but as I tried to downsize to a smaller shed with no luck and the rates went up, I was forced to seek elsewhere which I did. Saying that i wouldn't hesitate to suggest U-Haul to anyone that asked.

The only reason I rated this Above Average and not excellent is because of 1 Supervisor, Joe....... He made things a little bit of a problem with invoices and payment. Alexa Scott, GM at this facility, is a big help and she took care of the problem as soon as she was made aware of it.

I birdied the unit amd returned it.. I filled the gas tank to its full caisviry. I was not refunded for this as I returned the gas full versus half a tank. U-Haul policy is to charge consumers 5.0 dollars a gallon of failed to pay. This is price sharking and charging customers unfairly while not compensating the consumer in return when they have more than filled their contract

My over-priced unit was nothing but a nightmare the whole time. We had stuff get ruined in the unit and we didn't have the insurance so it cost us a valuable lesson. These are NOT climate controlled units or even weather proofed! They had many areas where rain leaking and moisture can get into the unit. We had over $1000 of stuff ruined including a 65" HD Smart TV. I was told I didn't have optional insurance so there is nothing that can be done. Isn't that what I pay for, a safe storage room for my stuff? I am a repeat customer and very dissatisfied that U-Haul even puts its name on this facility. One of the worst locations I have seen or dealt with, and I usually use U-Haul for all my moving needs across the country. I am glad my things are out of this storage unit for good.

I called before reserving. I was misinformed in reference to multiple things one of them being the size which I dealt with. Then I called yesterday to reserve a moving truck to find out that after using the storage for 6 days I will not receive any credit or rent proration or a discount on the truck. I will no longer be using Uhaul. We are in the middle of a pandemic and keeping my $54 seemed more of a priority than keeping a long term customer.

U - Haul needed to more cleaning as when you storage items as of air ventilation so your items won't get molded, I have a massage chair was mold & dust so going to try to get it clean. Questions do customers get insurance money back after storage finished being used.

Starting with the initial issue of me paying for a unit that was not available the day I arrived to forcing me to take another unit knowing I had just moved across the state and had a u haul truck filled with storage items and no where to store them. I was told I could take a larger unit but had to return 2 weeks later to move all my stuff, this was a horrible inconvenience. When I decided to move out the manager said he was going to inspect my unit and call me I never heard back from I haul or him until 4 weeks later saying a few items where left behind and I was being charged Another entire months rent even though I sent five emails previously explaining I know longer wish to rent my unit and that I was to be considered moved out and no longer a customer has a manager contacted me and told me that the unit was not completely empty I would’ve made arrangements their communication skills are poor ,disorganized And very rude

The attendant on duty "Jackie" on 6/22/20 @ 4 pm was very rude in all aspect of my experience. The way she spoke to me a client was very aggressive from the minute I walked in. was in the process of moving, which is already stressful enough to begin with so I figured id get a storage locker to ease some of my moving. I purchased the locker close to closing time, long story short the locker was defective, *wouldn't lock correctly* after I got all my belongings in the locker I found this out, then called customer service and they were no help, they told me to leave everything in the locker overnight, which I was not comftorable doing, (over 5k worth of stuff In there) then the next day while im at work my father has to go down there and relocate all of the items in the locker to the other side of the property, and this just threw a huge wrench into our spoked for moving my father missed his appointment with the movers which costs us time and money, I would like to have a phone call with upper management the branch manager has been no help and very hard to get a hold of as he works the same hours I do and I cant be on the phone at work if someone could please reach out to me so we can figure how ill be compensated for all the troubles I have been through thank you for your time.

So I received a call from the general manager yesterday about filing a complaint. On the call he acted as if he didn't know I was there to close the unit. DECEPTIVE. I now have money taken out of my account twice for Saturday. DECEPTIVE. You can see how professional people are from the start. Too many storage facilities around for this kind of service.

I was disappointed to find most of the things in my two storage units had become mildew covered. Mid-way thru the company decided to power wash and paint. Paint chips and water got into my units.
