John OHad a wonderful experience moving cross country from Colorado to Florida with my U-boxes. I was nervous thinking of security because the older pods were tarp covered plywood. Color me surprised when 2 solid “Pods style” shipping boxes arrived. My Colorado side movers who loaded the boxes were friendly, fast and efficient (they Tetris’d my stuff perfectly, not a single item was dinged or broken including framed art, mirrors and tv). I was updated upon arrival at the new location. Was able to move up my home delivery date and the Florida side folks delivered quickly, accurately and picked up within 24 hours of having them unloaded. More than enough blankets as most of my items were boxed or in stackable duffle bags.

Anthony DContainer was delivered to North Charleston, SC. The delivery to my home was coordinated from Savannah, Ga. The Uhaul office is North Charleston had no access to the scheduling information. Consequently, they could not tell me when my box was goung to be delivered. I received 2 emails informing me my box woukd be delivered in 2 separate days. Either equip the local office with scheduling abilities or, at least allow them to view the scheduling information.

MARCO MRented a trailer, web directions for off hours drop off indicated I need to use drop box. Hard to find and I concluded I didn't need it either. Was a challenge to find a place to decouple. Was tricky to decouple, but figured it out.

I have to admit I’ve had some not so great experiences utilizing U-Haul products for moves similar to this but it was a completely different experience this time around.
Christian HManager did a great job clearing up confusion over "Santa Fe" addresses. Apparently, I booked it at another address with Santa Fe in it. He got the reservation switched as luckily he had a 20 footer for one-way rental. Excellent service.

FELICIA LWhat a great experience! We messed up and did not order enough containers, even though Uhaul recommended an additional container. When I called to get a second container they helpful and made a stressful situation much less stressful for me! Truly a great experience. The delivery drivers were awesome!
Susan MUpod box was not on site for my scheduled pick up. I personally had to go pick up my ubox from warehouse. When I returned the truck, I was charged the miles for driving to grab the ubox and was told there was nothing they could do to compensate me.

AVRIL MThe Austin location provided terrible customer service. The boxes didn't arrive on time and we received no apology. Uhaul offered us $50 off and a $25 gift card to Uhaul which provides no value to us since we just moved. This was the worst customer experience I've ever had.

randy sThe only reason I marked no on clean /maintain was, opinion picking up my trailer I did do photos of everything. An even in those by first look everything looks fine, but upon getting to the reason we rented the trailer to begin with. The driver side of the trailer by the ramp being the left the lock pin was/ is nolonger attached to one another, again upon first taking photos it look fine. When we dropped off the trailer I did inform the U-Haul rep that was there an indeed show him the pre-leaving lot photos. Gordon even asked me "An this is how you guy left this morning? " to which I said because it had appeared to be attached even in photo proof. He then agreed that yes at first glance it does look attached in my photos.

Also get charged by the mile so i had to drive 50-60 miles total vs 10-15 miles. Not a good experience and i rent uhauls regularly.
PHILLIP AThey got me the truck right away ... If you get the 10 foot it's a cash deposit without a credit card... And it saved my life ... The 10 foot held my one bedroom apartment in two loads ... This was way better than my truck ... And it took large items with ease.... Always get the furniture dolly it's a must ....

AMY L | First ImpressionsAlthough the first day trying to move inpoto the unit was a little difficult due to troubles with the passcode the staff on the clock were very helpful to get that issue fixed however the next day when I had to get the rest of my stuff moved out of the U-Haul truck and into the storage unit it just happened to be right after business hours and I was unable to regain access into the facility for reasons unknown cuz I thought the problem had been handled today prior so I ended up having to spend a whole another $80 on the truck that I just simply can't afford.

SIMON MHave more staff on getting checked out on Sundays. got there at 9 Am when opened and there was a 45 minute wait cause only 1 person. Awful service when your trying to move and get started and then have to wait that long to even get waited on and finally leave to get stared on moving. Ever body in line felt the same way have 2 people checking people out. Wait time was awful. Other than that ever thing was good nice truck and ever thing worked great and returning truck was easy as well. Thanks

JOSEPH BI always rent from this location as it's a quick process; however, this time the experience was very disappointing. When we picked up the truck the rep told us and even MARKED it in the paperwork the gas as FULL. Before returning the truck, we stopped at the Shell station next to your location; since we trusted the rep that it was full, we filled it up and it TOOK $25.00 for merely 8 miles, we were surprised as it was TOO MUCH in gas, it turns out the rep lied to us when we picked up the truth was the gas tank WAS NOT full, I was very upset!! I complained when I returned the truck and Kaylin was very understanding, she took pictures of the gas receipt, I emailed her the photos of the gas when we picked up and when we returned, she said she will talked to manager to resolve this issue. As of today, February 16th, 7:16 pm I've not heard from anyone from your company!! I'd like a refund of the gasoline we had to put, like I mentioned Kaylin took pictures of all these to back this up. PHILIP CMy experience is not complete yet as my goods are in storage and will be shipped to Florida from Colorado. My experience with the initial phase of renting the u boxes, a uhaul truck and getting the boxes to the facility has been exceptional . What an excellent staff of employees at the So Santa Fe location in Englewood. I set my order up with Madison and Javier who were outstanding and then picked up my equipment a few days later with Robert, who was fast efficient and funny. He is the kind of employee that I would try to steal away if I was hiring at the time.

Without question, U-Haul was a far superior solution: it is very clean, safe, well-lit, and designed for easy access. Multiple people can be loading/unloading at the same time without bothering each other, and there are ample carts for everyone to use. And all of the employees are friendly and helpful. Why go anywhere else?? Highly recommended!!

The stairs up to the space make it really difficult to move heavy objects in and out of the space. 2. We booked a first floor, no-stairs space but were switched at the last minute to a split-level space. The first month was free from renting a UHaul one way for our move. Unfortunately, giving us the almost unusable split-level space felt like UHaul didn't want our business anymore, so we took it elsewhere.

Several times I had to extend the rental time because of my disability preventing me from moving faster. Shayne and his staff, especially Devon have been understanding and KIND. Kindness goes a long way when you find yourself in vulnerable situations. I have personal issues that have made me difficult to work with. Shayne, Devon and Maddie have performed above and beyond to assist with my needs. I have had to deal with a lot of services and businesses, and being a general manager myself, I understand the challenges that can occur with employees. I disagree with some of the reviews, I find that Shayne and his team are cohesive, compassionate, knowledgeable, and KIND. I emphasize kind because in all my encounters I have come to realize that our workplaces, as a society are apathetic. It's a sad thing. But, when treated with expertise and kindness it restores hope. This is a great crew, and finding employees who are customer oriented and are efficient is rare. These guys deserve kudos. From renting equipment, to returning, to obtaining storage, and managing storage, this is the right crew. Thank you Shayne, Devon, and Maddie for making my life a little easier at the right times. Keep up the good work.

U-Haul policy was that only U-Haul or a lock smith can take a lock off. It took almost a week to get it done by U-haul. One women staff member (did not catch her name) was helpful, but the others there were not. The lock was successfully ground off in about 10 minutes once they got around to helping me get the lock off. This delayed my moveout by several days.

Security system is not user friendly, and regularly locks you out. Hours are super inconvenient if you work over nights, closing by 10pm, that’s if you can can get past the security door, because the office closes at 5, and your card is probably locked out of the system.

I wish we could access our own units until at least 10 or 11pm. This has proven inconvenient more than a dozen times this summer.

The manager was present during that time and did not allow the garage door to get open to unload a full 15' truck. We had to make several trips from the ramp to the secondary access door. The Management of this facility was great in working with me but the issues I had should not have occured, especially in the billing. It appears that maybe the facility is understaffed to handle the load here at this facility, as it is a huge operation here. On move-out, all went well with that and staff were great there.

I ended up with a unit different than what I had reserved and was far more expensive. The staff member did not inform me of the differences in the unit or the increase in price. When I checked the app after I had already moved all of my belongings into the unit, I saw a price different than what I had reserved in agreed to. Mistakes happen I just wanted to get it worked out. My issue is with the general manager at the facility who handle it very unprofessionally. Was combative and argumentative and I had to call the corporate office several times to get it resolved. It's a convenient well maintained facility. But having a manager who does not know how to handle customer issues and who acts in a very unprofessional and rude manner is not okay. I don't know that I would recommend your facility to a friend knowing that this person is who they may have to deal with. I would not rent a unit or a truck from this facility knowing that this is the person who I would potentially have to deal with. I would choose another you all facility or another brand.

I was in the unit two days after the beginning of the new month and there was no wiggle room on rent rebate. Never argued the point, as I was told by the national rep that was company policy. Taking care of all this out of state was very difficult. Renting a return trailer was a major fiasco as well. Having rented from uhaul on multiple occasions, using the online ordering platform, I have never had issues. However, renting a return trailer 5X8 (if memory serves me right) the day before pick up, was notified that my son(who had his stuff in the uhaul storage) would have to drive 5.5 hours to Montrose to pick up the trailer. I thought, and so did the national center, that was pretty outrageous. We were told by the staff, sorry that’s the only option, with a very “oh well” attitude. After hours of calls and no help from the facility, we ended up cancelling the rental request and going with another company to make our relocation out of the storage unit. Being in business myself, not a good way to leave a customer. I will now have to think twice before ever using uhaul again. Will likely need to do everything by customer service(knowing that I will likely have to wait on the phone for an extended period of time) because the pit falls that can take place on line can be quite devastating. I hope some of these remakes can help modify your business model and assist those that continue to use your services.

The garage doors to the loading dock have both not let my vehicle in and also locked it in. The card to make “access easy” never opened the sliding glass door, and the Uhaul workers were unable to help fix the problem on day 1, and on day 2 they were too busy to help me at the moment and that I needed to check with them later. This drastically slowed down the moving process as I either needed to wait and follow another customer in behind them, or use something to prop open the door and be subjected to the loud alarm.

I went to the office and asked for the lock to be removed. My rent was fully paid on time. Within minutes an employee behind the counter informed me that I couldn’t come in there and be discourteous and that I had to leave. I was not being discourteous, I just wanted them to remove their lock. The employee who accused me of being discourteous within seconds was threatening me, verbally abusing me and told me that that he could move my belongings out of my storage unit within 24 hours. He identified himself as the new general manager. Three days later I had my storage unit emptied of my belongings after a different employee insisted that the computer said I had the wrong kind of lock. When she finally accompanied me to my unit, she saw that I had the correct type of lock and she removed the U-Haul lock. I will never use U-Haul again!!!

Now, I did get angry and frustrated and took it out on Alexis which i am sorry, but for future reference when someone goes to the unit and needs it unlocked everyone should be able to do so. No reason to have 4 people and nobody able to unlock a lock

It took 2 trips to get all of the stuff out of the unit. On the last load, I went into the office to cancel my rental. After waiting in a line that didn't move for over 30 minutes I decided to check and see if I could cancel online. Which I could. So I went back to the unit and took the requested pictures and submitted them. I also canceled my monthly auto payment (so glad I thought to do that). I then started getting emails and bills in the mail telling me that I was past due for my rental and that liens were going to be put in place. I emailed the location and got a response that it was an error and I wouldn't receive any more bills. Wrong again. The bills kept coming. I kept sending emails. When I tried to call the location to speak to someone I ended up hanging up after being on hold for 45 minutes.

We were going to try a different location but the man who helped us went above and beyond to help and accommodate us. He was very nice, explained things well, helped with the locks, and his customer service was a huge reason we didn’t move on to the next location. we were able to find a smaller unit on the main floor that still worked out and the experience was the best part of moving day! Continued receiving charges for two cycles, even after completing walkthrough of unit with uhaul employee. He forgot to close out and complete the move out. I returned to the store after receiving the first unexpected charge, same employee said he forgot to complete the move out but would be doing it that day and refund the transaction. After not receiving a refund, I was charged again. Called the uhaul phone number and had to be placed on hold for nearly 40-minutes only to be told that since they can’t confirm the storage unit had been cleared out, there was nothing they could do except put in a complaint. He couldn’t give me a direct number to the store or manager. I had to go throw Uhauls Twitter Direct Messages where they were able to give me the direct line to the general manager (Phil). Phil answered the phone, he was helpful and immediately able to complete the move out and initiate a refund for the two cycles. Wasted a number of hours and work interruptions trying to get what should have been a very simple thing taken care of. Would have thought I would’ve been offered something beyond the $210 refund that was owed to me for all the effort and hoops I had to jump through. Likely won’t be using uhaul again for storage.

Finally, they just cut the lock off.

Had a garage door as display. Great. When we had a loaded truck with several trip to come. We were told that it would be a 10 x10 and an 10 x5 next to it. That would not work for what we have to store. Then it took a long time to find a 10 x 15 unit.. went to unit and that would not work because of small doors and we would not be able to get items into unit. Tried several to review. Then found out that was is display and what you have are totally different. BAIT AND SWITCH. The only place for garage doors is second floor . No elevator. That can't work, it is very heave what we are storing. Then GM called uhal down the road and asked if they had 10 x15 and they have outside entrance. OK but perferr instide. Went to the other location, and the cost was $40 more a month for non climate control. Was under the gun and had to do that. So not really pleased with UHaul. The Santa Fe location had insulation ripped on ceiling, asked to have fixed before loading unit. Did but will have to do it again as they only had duck tape. Then noticed after almost totally loaded that there are whole to the outside on bottom of wall, asked to have filled so pest (mice and rats) don't get in. The person at the desk doesn't really work the front desk. Rep at lunch left message at desk asking erh to call. Have yet to hear back a week later. HAve tried to call back goes to customer service and hours on the phone. This had been a horrible experience and VERY disappointed. The staff is very nice though. Now kinda stuck as we don't have the time and manpower to make another move to a place that actually. IT is so WRONG that you do the bait and switch
