I heard about it from Google Gemini, when I was looking for the best storage option. U-Haul didn't get mentioned until very late in my interaction, almost like it was in a different class Gemini wasn't considering. Like it's for moving and towing, not storage. As I dug in on promotional pricing policies and rate increases, Gemini suddenly offered it as an option, presenting U-Haul's overall business policies as a very transparent and stark contrast to the bait-and-switch games that Private Equity-backed and other storage companies play.

VANCE M | First ImpressionsCaitlin was on the mark and I understand a lot what she told me and surprisingly I never knew that U-Haul had first month free with a very good and the lock was the $10 was not bad and I was expecting to go ahead and pay the $89.95 on the first floor because I'm not climbing 12 stairs and coming back down and climbing 12 stairs and coming back down back and forth with no elevator so I'm glad Caitlin let me know a lot and I said no let me just take a 5x10 on the first floor so we'll have access to come pick up our stuff and move into our new place. But I give Caitlin 100% cuz she's real about what she say and no phonies and no fake so I give that girl a 100% grade A.

The unit itself was great; no complaints there. Checkout was where things fell apart. I returned my access card and was told the unit would be closed on my end. It wasn't. I had to call the facility three times, show up in person once, and contact support twice before it was actually closed. For a process that should take five minutes on your end, this was an unacceptable amount of follow-up on mine. I'd recommend building in a confirmation step (email or text) when a unit is actually closed, so customers aren't left chasing staff to verify something they were told was already done.
