Niki B | Overall ExperienceGreat quality climate controlled indoor units at a good price. Office usually closes around 7 or 8pm. You can pay $10 extra per month for 24 hour access which was worth it for me. The staff are super kind and friendly and work with you. They aren’t ruthless like some storage places who will just auction your stuff off if you’re one month behind. They communicate with you and worked with me once when I was in a bind. They are extremely kind and I would recommend them to anyone! Bonus that you can have storage and rent a truck/ van/ box truck at the same time for cheap! They also have a loading dock at the unit which makes moving things in or out easier.

KEVIN SKody checked my rental equipment in, and he assigned me a storage unit that located exactly how it was indicated on the map. The climate controlled storage units are accessed using two separate PIN code entry panels, so the storage unit’s are very secure. I was also impressed with how clean the storage unit’s were.

ELIJAH DUnprofessional staff!! Which made me be very nasty and angry with a staff member!! Need more training on how to handle customers. Everyone not a child & will not tolerate that kind of behavior from any adult on or off one’s job! I’ve paid over $2k and to be treated so poorly !!! I wouldn’t recommend this location to my enemies or the devil himself. She thought we were young girls but, turned out I was the child’s mother who she thought she was going to try and pick on til I had to step out of character about my child and unit I’ve been paying on for my daughter and grandchildren. Not only did I drive 14hrs from Florida to Evansville, but I did so sick ,throwing up etc !! Imagine being asked several dumb questions about a dumpster that you lease from vs just simply asking do you have a unit with us!! Stupid girl pulled up being the dumbest girl! Said; you can’t use your our trash?! What? Couldn’t tell me how much using the trash would cost but, told me she could charge me “WHATEVER “ she’d liked?! Excuse me?! I think not. That’s not how it works. She’s has no power to charge me “WHATEVER SHE FEELS = RACIST VS BY THE BOOK. I recorded all for my own personal records. Then told me after I asked her to close my storage out & give me my contract she still didn't give me a total on dumpster! Waiting on a SURPRISE BILL TO SEND TO SCOTT DANKS OVER AT DANKS & DANKS. To save my aaa I took pictures of hallways used, storage space clean and clear, donations that (STAFF ) hurry up and took home! I came back at 8a and all my donations were taken sept my grandson toddler bed. EPD was called because, I told her to do so because I felt threaten. Law student and I will not be mishandled /harassed or my child by staff or not a soul. Mind you we had to check out and all could’ve been resolved at the counter but, nope she wanted exactly what she got. Pay for trash was never the problem! It was the first 2-3 dumb questions vs just asking us do we have a unit with Uhaul. Hire knowledgeable people for future reference. Funny part is she thought I was a young girl like my 25yo daughter but I’m so not!! I just look youthful/w 3 adult children. 2 white girls approached two black girls !! Mom & daughter not two blk girl friends on bologna. Mom & daughter handling business to get back on the highway to Florida. Money was never the issue! I drive a $150k car ?!? Home $800k seriously people!!! lol

RODNEY Cyou guys are still struggling at this site with your customer service experience. teach your people how to interact with customers. teach them to look customers into the eyes and speak well. your yard employee that hooked up my trailer did not have much training. he was pretty much cluelesss how to connect the trailer and cables. you guys obviously dont have a good training program that works for you. I wouldn't send anyone here to get a trailer because of this. I can deal with it because I am 63 and 50 years experience dealling with utility trailers.

JAMES MTotal difference to the pickup location. The staff member that came out help us pointed out where to drop the trailer. I told hm that I had never reversed a trailer before and he kindly took over. He helped us unhook the trailer and also pointed out that we had attached it correctly (after I had asked him). He checked everything over, got us the necessary paperwork and had us on our way in no more than ten minutes.

MATTHEW DMiranda Toomey was extremely unprofessional and irritating. She took my reservation over the phone and messed up the times. Then, when I asked clarifying questions she came in hot with some attitude. Overall, she is a terrible employee and I really can't image that she is successful in any other area of her life. Not only was she bad at her job, but she was confidently bad. I think it is deeply depressed that she is busted and also a bitch. In conclusion, ugly people should never laugh because those jank ass teeth will catch a stray 100% of the time.
REBECCA HGas was between a quarter and half tank. Tire was low before I left. I had to put air in the tire at the pick location. The bed of the pickup had snow in it that I had to sweep out at the pickup location with their broom. They charged me for gas when I took it back with the same amount of gas that it had in it when I picked it up. I have proof of gas and mileage at pick up. Not happy. Won't use that location again.

MILTON LWe had very little communication on the first half of the experience, which was mostly fine. The problem was someone forgot to send the Ubox lock keys and then there was pretty bad communication from them and it took almost a week longer than planned to get to my brother's meds and technology that were hanging out in below freezing temperatures for over a week. Afraid to be fined if we damaged the boxes trying to chop off the locks that were the type of locks that were not easily chop off able, we waited, and almost decided to try anyway and just hope for the best out of desperation.
Lathan BYour female clerk was very rude and very poor customer service. She would not answer my questions without a rude response. She never would look me in the eyes. Your new female yard person that was sent to hook up my trailer had no experience and was obviously not trained to do this work. She had no idea how to hook up a trailer. She could not even turn the jack in the right direction to lower the trailer onto the hitch. I had to take over and then the rude female clerk came out and started being rude again. She said your yard person had to hook up the trailer and I could not do it. It was very cold and I had to take over because they just do not have the experience to properly connect the trailers. I've done business with Uhaul many years in many locations. This was the worst single encounter I've ever experienced with Uhaul service. Please raise your standards and get a training program established. Your insurance company likely have no idea how much risks these untrained uhaul employees are putting on the general public. The trailer was not clean and the door did not operate properly.

BENJAMIN Rfirst vehicle wngine died twenty minutes after pickup then had to drive all the way back to puck up a different vehicle, was given a smaller truck , but still charged for the larger truck, which called for two extra trips due to size of smaller truck, which increased my milage charge . ended up with a 19 dollar rental. but still paid for 49 dollar rental and twice the miles then i intended to use at 99 cents a mile. took twice as long to move not coynting the waisted day sitting on the interstate in a broken down first rental. we were not compensated for first day that took 3 hours to get back yo pick up a different truck. what should have been around a hundred dollar rental. turned into 184.00 to rent a truck and alot of headache. will definetly use a different rental company to complete our move .

Ever since then they tried charging my card 3-4 times a DAY for various amounts. Then the harassing phone calls started. Even after telling them multiple times over the almost YEAR since I gave up the unit back in august, I have received many threats… so now they have decided to “auction” my unit off for the empty space (because remember, I cleaned it out almost a YEAR ago) and STILL refuse to listen to me over it. So the lovely complaint that I have filed with the BBB and the direct ORDER for you guys to STOP harassing me hasn’t stopped is just going to add to the fire.

Jordan A | First ImpressionsI had a storage unit with U Haul and came to remove my things from the unit it was 1:00 in the afternoon the access door was locked so I walked around the office nobody was available so I went back to the side of the building where their was two employees standing ask the for help and one of the employees threaten me, belittled me and cussed me out because I asked her what she is supervisor because I need assistant at that point I went to the manager that was the manager U-Haul at the time and spoke with her. The employee was fired due to the fact that she treated me so poorly, and, after that, I didn’t want to return to U-Haul so the manager at the time told me to don’t worry about it that she would take care of it and I’ve been receiving letters every since I’ve spoke to multiple managers over there at U-Haul storage on Riverside Drive and Evansville because they’ve had multiple managers there since then but anyway they told me they reassured me that I wouldn’t be billed. I wouldn’t be contacted anymore and I still contacted so there you go.

JOCELYN J | First ImpressionsThis U-HAUL facility is very proximal to USI which makes the storage unit convenient. There is one observation I will provide. It’s a management issue. As I referenced earlier, this U-Haul site makes it a high target location, especially on a Saturday and the first Saturday of the month. Unfortunately, there were only two U-Haul staff present: one that handled finalizing the reservations and one that checked in and checked out the equipment. This Riverside Avenue facility, on May 06, was almost standing room only! Both of these individuals should be commended for their incredible and outstanding customer service under very stressful conditions! They should further be provided with a paid day off in recognition of their manifesting the values of the U-Haul community. Not one time did their demeanor of service and attentive assistance waver! Not one time! While I know these facilities are locally owned, management at the micro and macro levels should ensure their facilities are sufficiently staffed, especially when it’s the first Saturday of the month.

Edward F | Overall ExperienceThe website is very misleading. The unit we rented said 1-2 bedrooms with about 1200 sq ft. Went to pick up the lock and the inside signs said a studio. The unit barely would fit a studio apt. Asked to upgrade to a bigger unit and was told none were available but I could rent a second unit if I needed. She said I could do it online since it was closing and I wasn't 100% sure. Moved in what I could and rented a second unit. I came with my bigger furniture to move in the unit, but couldn't access the ramp to the second floor because it was after 7pm. But I was told I would have 24 hr access to my second floor units. That was another lie. Called the GM like the sign said and she was the rudest person I've ever dealt with. Basically it was my problems. She never even apologized for the inconvenience. Told me to carry it up the stairs. I'm 4'11" and it was a French door refrigerator. I needed these units for a few months but I'll be taking my business elsewhere next month. And I'll be reviewing your business on yelp, Google, FB and every other site I can find.

Carla F | First ImpressionsI needed the 10x15 size and was told one was available at the facility. As I attempted to book it online, the unit was not available. An employee kindly assisted me through the online process and told me to book the 5x5 and when I arrive to the facility they would get me in the 10x15 and I would pay the difference at that time. I booked the 5x5 online which included a free lock for booking online. Once at the facility to finish and switch out the reservation for the 10x15 a different employee assisted. She made the switch. After reviewing the online receipt I noticed the employee charged me for a lock which I already got free for booking online. I asked to be refunded for the lock since I got it free online. She said to do so, she would have to refund the entire amount then charge my card again for the amount without the lock. This was an unacceptable process as I would have to wait a few days for the first authorization to drop from my account. I asked if she could just give us enough boxes for the over charge and she said she could not but would have a manager contact me. It has been two days and I still haven’t been contacted. This was not an overall positive experience. Nor is it acceptable for a company to have a promotion and not figure out how to honor without inconveniencing the customer. Moving is expensive and stressful. A company’s processes should not make doing business with a customer, difficult for the customer.

When I arrived my code did not work, there was not a lock in the unit, and it was definitely not climate controlled. I went downstairs to the desk to see what was going on with my code and where I could find the lock and the general manager(that’s the shirt the person was wearing) was extremely snarky and rude about why my code did not work. I did not plan to leave a negative review hoping that over time things would get better and I’d be able to leave a 5 ⭐️ review but I received a text asking for a review.

It wasn't my fault, as I didn't delete the account or close it. It was UHaul's fault. I will credit the desk person with being very helpful and forthright. She didn't charge me for last month. But, now I can't use my old contact, who is a trusted friend and who has a key to the place. I was told I had to use a new one. This is preposterous. There was no reason for me change that was given and this person I have as my contact I have known well for over 15 years. Please find a reason and explain to me why I can't use the person I trust the most in my life as my contact. Mind you, he is a site supervisor for a security company and has passed multiple background checks for his jobs, so to that end, I'm angry. You get three stars because the desk person (I don't remember her name) was excellent in her customer service.

Equipment and van wise: the van was so much better than the truck and I will definitely be using it again. The storage was easy to get to and there was carts to help load it. Other than that uhaul is the best at moving!

When I was moving out the staff left the office and stopped answering the phones. They left the lock on my unit after I was paid up for over a week. No one noted that I left the facility even though I did inform them and the company attempted to charge me again. You charge a lot of money for my things to be messed up. The manager told me I should have paid extra for coverage for something that they clearly knew was going to happen. If I had been told it was a guarantee I would have, I guess. Katie wasn't interested in "resolving my dispute" but we will contact a lawyer concerning U-Hauls "pest free facility"

The online checkin didn’t work well. Also a female employee was to bring the truck around to us. I preferred renting a truck in Jasper IN but was inconvenient to put the extra miles on it since the move was contained in Evansville IN. Pay for more help!!!! And the employee that did help me needs a raise. She was very knowledgeable and courteous while under stressful conditions!!!

I won storage lockers thru an auction an uhaul is the very first place in 7 years I've been buying units that doesnt allow u to access these lockers when the office is closed. I bought 4 from the riverside location an 4 from other storage places. When people have jobs an also buys these it truly causes issues not to mention the weather causing the locations to close earlier has truly caused some issues I had to extend my uhaul 3 extra days there then leaving me behind to move my other 4 lockers. An when I would call the local location was just rude an you all expect me to except you all making changes do to weather etc but it was a problem when I had to make changes. Not to mention I am wheel chair bound so I couldnt even clean out or assist with getting these lockers out because u all are not handicapped accessible. Even the ramp in the back has a few stairs leaving me to have to depend on someone to assist me or to pay others to help which is wat I have had to do. I've spent a lot of money with this location over he past 2 years an with the past 2 to 3 months I've learned that uhaul may not be the company for me to use for my small business because I've now spent over 450 dollars in less then a month truly crazy honestly an to have to deal with peoples rudeness an attitudes

Lights turned off while you're still working in the unit hallway lights worked. The men and the outside workers that worked with the trucks trailers we're very nice and helpful and exceptionally kind the office workers were the exact polar opposite very rude very ugly very demanding very slow. The manager was horrible. Doors were not open access was not available at their posted opening time access was closed and restricted 30 to 45 minutes before posted closing time. Hours of operation were not honored it was whatever was convenient for the employees. Very very overpriced for the service in the amount of space rented {period} would never rent from this location ever again may never consider renting U-Haul again.

I rented on a holiday weekend when other facilities were closed so that was a convince others don't offer. The unit I had was very large at a very good rate. The staff at the office has always been more then helpful and very friendly.. I will always come here to get excite to impatience or anger; annoy trucks and accessories to haul but I would never recommend a storage here.

Absolutely no customer service and no direction were given to me upon arrival of picking up the UHAUL truck and storage unit. Upon arriving we waited in line for 30 + minutes with only one other customer in front of us Of which 3 employees were standing around or sitting down behind the counter. The card machine was not working properly. That along with being basically ignored when we walked in the door and were the only ones standing in line was unacceptable. We were told after leaving with the truck that upon arriving with the truck we would then get further instructions and assistance with the storage unit I reserved. We arrived and once again were ignored by the blonde lady behind the counter. We received absolutely little to no instructions on how to gain access to the storage unit. We got to the storage unit and there was a lock on the door that was needing a key that no one told us about prior or offered assistance with and the store was closing in 10 minutes. I had to physically go down to the office and get assistance myself. The self check in process was terrible and I did not receive any account info or information on this process prior. I submitted it right at 8:00 PM the last possible time it was due before Being considered late. The unnecessary stress of the day did not help with my situation where I lost everything in a house fire 2 day’s ago. I even expressed this to the manager behind the counter and he proceeded to down play my situation and make jokes about COVID-19. I will never be doing business there again and do not plan on keeping my storage unit more than just a few days before I will take my business elsewhere. I will not be paying anymore to this company and will refuse payment for next month storage unit rent and terminating my contract ASAP.
