The manager wasn't very professional
Jimmy S | Overall ExperienceI pulled up and parked the vehicle because I was waiting on my ride to pick me up. In the meantime I got out of the truck to take picture and one of the workers yelled at me from across the parking lot asking if I was dropping off. I said yes. She said I was just asking because you need to move the vehicle. I said okay but in the meantime I wanted to take pictures to submit via the UHaul App
PARIS MIt wasn't the equipment I reserved and I couldn't fully get done what I needed to get done. Also to travel over 30mins one way and not be notified that the equipment is unavailable is terrible.

UNDRE BThis lady is a complete ROCK STAR. She went out of her way to take time with me. She put me in the right truck and I was on the road in 30 minutes. I'm telling you NOW. If you need a Uhaul. She is worth the trip to rent from her. She will go out of her way to help and accommodate you with all your questions and needed. My ONLY regret was She didn't come with me. She will never know how much I appreciate her kindness.

JEANETTE EI don't understand why uhaul doesn't allow you to rent equipment for 24 hours. I needed this equipment for 24 hours but was only allowed 8 hours, I just can't understand what has changed about this company. What if I needed it for 2 days because I was moving which I was anyway and as a result I had to rush and still ended up being very late bringing the equipment back which I don't like because it makes me look bad and untrustworthy. By me rushing it had my thoughts scrambling. This was an extremely bad day for me and my family all because uhaul doesn't do 24 hour rentals

TENIKA WP I have recently used U-Haul in the past. This particular time the rental truck that I use seem to be old er. The truck barely got past 40 miles an hour and it was so loud that it gave me a headache. I had no problem with the customer service but when I brought this to the staffing attention, he didn't seem to care

The person said "Is there a trailer there? If not we don't have it. Call uhaul". Then I went to Bessemer and they had the equipment but couldn't figure out how to rent it to me.

Kashif Y | Overall ExperienceThe pick up process was a disaster. Initial reserved location was changed 2 days before pick up. The new “guaranteed” location (Santana Auto on Valley Ave, Homewood AL) had NO UHaul equipment and NO UHaul representative. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with a UHaul regional agent and they could not find my requested truck size anywhere within 40 miles. Finally they offered a larger truck (thankfully for the same price) at a location within 10 miles - but farther away from the original site. An hour later I had a truck, but incurred extra 20 miles of charges due to the far pick up location.

Later one panel had fallen and rats had damaged a great deal of my items and I was denied coverage from the insurance company RepWest that is a joke, Insurance in unnecessary although I paid for it because it was required.

DENITA HI was not pleases at check out. I refilled the gas tank to where it had appeared to have been upon rental. His online connection showed more detail than the speedometer and I was charged an extra $12+. I expressed how unfair it was but to no avail.
WILLIAM BI went to this location on October 14th to reserve a 10' truck for drop off in Huntsville to be picked up at 8:00 am on the 19th. Unfortunately, when I received my email confirmation with the address of the pickup site, it showed my pickup time of 12:00. This was unacceptable because this would have put me in Huntsville around 3:00 pm. I canceled this reservation and scheduled another one for the following week. This time I called in to schedule the date and time and asked the representative to schedule my pickup for any time after 4:00 pm on Friday the 25th so that I would have someone available to drop me off. Again, when I received my confirmation email with the pickup address, it had a pick-up time of noon. This time was an issue because I didn't have a way to get to that location. When I arrived around 4:00, the individual first had me waiting for more than 20 minutes while he worked on a customer's car, then he let me know that my reservation had been canceled because I hadn't picked the truck up at noon. I called customer service and learned that because I didn't pick up within two hours, the truck was canceled and redirected to another location with a drop-off truck available. Upon arriving I noticed that the hood on this truck had been popped and as I was following the instructions for retrieving the key from the lockbox, I lifted the hood and saw that the battery was gone. After calling back to explain my difficulty in getting a truck, I decided to drive to the Bessemer Road location because I was desperate enough to rent a truck that I would have to bring back to Birmingham. This was a total nightmare, but the representative there tried to accommodate me and at the point that I was about to finish this reservation, I learned that I could only have the truck for 6 hours. This was a total waste of my time because it was 7:00 pm and there was no way that I could load up the truck, drive it to Huntsville, unload the contents, and drive back to Birmingham by 1:00 am. As I was mentally accepting that this was another wasted weekend, a couple came in with a 10' truck for drop off. This is what saved me day and I was able to drive the truck home, load the contents, and lock it up for the early morning commute to Huntsville. My biggest issue or concern is that I specifically requested a pickup for a certain time, yet the reservation was made both times for noon.......I drove around the city of Birmingham on what seemed like a wild goose chase looking for a truck. I can't say that I would never use U-Haul again but I will make sure that any of my family and friends understand the importance of confirming their pickup time and the possibility of a cancellation if they are late picking up within 2 hours.

Help customers toss mattresses, especially if they have been there longer than 6 months. Set up a system to help hall away items for customers who have paid for long stays. 3. If a customer has patronized your business for a considerable amount of time be willing to bend a few rules. Make it fair and willing to help assist the customer. Be willing to bend stiff rules. Then your customers will always return to a family like business.

He lives in Florida and needed someplace to store househhold items. I am extremely disappointed that I could not get a refund of the unused portion of my rental payment. The ending date for my initial rental was 24 September. Prior to that date, I made a payment. My nephew and I cleared the unit out on 27 September, just 3 days later. Mattie H | Overall ExperienceThe storage facility itself was excellent. I used the unit for several years and found no problems with my stored items. The problems that I had was with the parking. On Saturday, September 12, 2020, I parked my vehicle in a parking space painted for parking. When I parked, I felt a pull on my right bumper. When I looked, a nail protruding from the cement barrier had ripped off the right side of my bumper. I informed the manager, Shinita Cunningham. She said that the parking spots were for hitches, but there were no signs saying the parking spots were for the hitches. I now have a damaged bumper and I am not pleased about it because it could have been avoided. There are no customer parking spaces for storage customers. That problem needs to be addressed. On Sunday, September 13, 2020, the normal staff was off. The gentleman filling in could not open the storage area because he did not have the keys or codes. Me and my family waited for 1 1/2 hrs but were still unable to get into the storage area. I thought it was ridiculous that he did not have the correct information necessary to continue normal operations. It was very frustrating and I had to reschedule meeting dates with my family to complete emptying the storage unit. Communication is of the utmost importance to keep a business functional and your customers stress and worry free.

I just have spoke with 12 individuals from 800 Uhaul online, Ethics department, store managers, clerks, and maybe 2 individuals were pleasant and willing to assist my family and I. Hey ur storage reservation was secured wrong by representative, the services that were supposed to be available were not available putting the safety of my family at risk. The size of the storage that I reserved and was forced to down grade to a unit that almost didn’t fit the capacity of my goods. We were threatened by the staff. Worst experience ever.
