MEEGAN NBiggest issue I have with U-Haul is the outdated computer system, in the last month it’s not working (store&app) more than it’s working. 2) for trailers (I’m a frequent renter), there needs to be a way to rent a trailer w/o having to go inside. Do a waiver and/or put a lockbox on the hitch with key in lock box similar to trucks. The inconvenience(lost time) is making me seriously consider just buying a trailer.

Also charged $15 for coverage that I opted out of. So ridiculous. If you can’t do your job and pay attention then don’t be open. Won’t be returning.

You also need to provide an alternate person, that does not live with you, that can get my stuff. I don't want anyone touching it. you should be able to sign a waiver if you default and they cannot get in touch with you than they can dispose or sell your items. I did not want to give them the information, but I was stuck with the policies since my movers were unpacking the truck. I only rented a 5x5 unit. SO FRUSTARTING!

I cannot say enough good things about the General Manager here In Framingham. This young lady wears her heart on her sleeve! In a world where people have lost faith in others there are people like Ms.Kazandra Baez Shugrue who really restored my faith. My wife and I cannot thank this wonderful woman enough for being such a good person with a good heart and caring about us enough to help us during such a difficult time. I will recommend this Framingham U-Haul to anyone. I hope the company gives Ms.Kazandra the recognition she deserves, I will get around to thank Ms.Kazandra in person and give her something special from my family. We appreciate her and will never forget her kindness.

IVAN NI’ve used U-Haul before without issues, but this time, the truck had a serious mechanical problem—it wouldn’t go faster than 15 mph. This forced me to avoid highways, take longer back roads, and rack up extra miles. Thankfully, the staff was very friendly and helpful, but the truck’s condition made the move much more stressful than it needed to be.
MINA GI used this storage facility for just under 5 years. It was only until this past year that both of the two elevators worked. Otherwise, this facility was great!

I did have to trust the person working was going to check in the truck for me, which he did. But leaving with no confirmation was a bit odd, which I way I took pictures of the vehicles, to have a timestamp.

Puneet SThe location isn't the issue. My issue is I called to make a reservation and was told the only way to do it is online. There is a huge lack of outlining the process for someone who doesn't know the U Haul process. It was hard to get someone to answer the phone so I can get some questions answered. For someone trying to plan something, it is tricky that U Haul's plan is that no one knows where you're going to pick up your equipment the day before your reservation and no one knows where you're confirmed to drop off your equipment until you pick it up. For me to not be told this until the day before my reservation in unacceptable. Thankfully everything worked out because I had to spend a lot of time on the phone to get everything figured out. I was not able to add another driver to my contract through the online process. The person in Framingham told me it doesn't actually work to do it online and they need to come into the location to get it done. I called a location closer to my home to see if we can come in there to add another driver and they said no and they aren't able to find my reservation because it is a different location. I called another U Haul phone number to try and they were able to help me add a driver over the phone and told me the other person should have been able to find my contract if they searched the system correctly. I confirmed a pick up location and then a few hours later someone else called saying that the first pick up location isn't possible so I have to go to another location. I was supposed to get a call from a manager so I can express this to them, but never did. All of this shows me that most people at U Haul don't know their process or how to do their job. All of this the day before and day of my reservation. Total mess. Then none of the drop off methods worked. Online, location based, or QR code.

I wanted an upgrade, but couldn't trade in the free lock for an upgrade. 2) The person at the facility demanded two other phone numbers of people who didn't live with me and then demanded to be able to call them at that moment. It seems weird that she demanded to call them right then as the method of verifying and also that they couldn't live with me. None of this was told to me by the staff person on the phone who verified my reservation. 3) the facility itself was great and the elevator etc. worked well. I'd go back to Framingham Southborough for future storage needs.
Benjamin K | First ImpressionsI was given a truck with a known mechanical issue I was stranded for a couple of hours until I was called and given the "trick" to starting it. I had to drive it back and switch everything to another truck. I was told I would be credited. I wasn't until I called. after calling to clarify that I was given 10% off which seems kind of small considering They knew the truck was broken (The person I spoke to while waiting for road side assistance lied to me and said it had only been in for a tire change and hadn't been in for any kind of issue then the GM called and told me the work around and that it's in for that all the time) I use this location as my go to because it's close to me and has good availability. I have had mixed experience with the staff there.

GARY HI hope this means that you gave me a refund for the 7 months you charged me for a storage unit I never had or moved into! I had made a reservation online and when I arrived at the storage facility it was clear that the one I had reserved wouldn't be big enough. So the guy changed me to a larger one. I was then charged for the last 7 moths for both. Was not able to get in touch with anyone who could do anything about this. Until Cassandra, a short term employee at this location, noticed the zip tie on the original storage unit that I never moved into but was getting charged for and called me! So nice!!

James DMy items had been stored for a for 3 yrs. Once i found keys the lock jammed up on me and then I broke the stuck key in there. I had the drill the lock out. That was not a great experience but otherwise the storage was fine.

I understand the place was closed, but it was rather gross. I only selected "Yes" to recommending this location, but I want to add - only because I had no other choice in the area that day.

RAFAEL LI had a terrible experience from end to end as I tried to book my service online and kept being told the servers were down on 9/11, so I should use the app which is intuitive and “easy” to use but it made the process far more time intensive and worrisome than I initially imagined. I will definitely not be recommending this sort of service to anyone looking to move and the future and will probably advise them to look elsewhere at this time.

I get out around the time that the facility self-serve hours close and it would be convenient for me to stop by there afterwards andI in the morning because of my schedule, it makes it harder. But I’ll make it work. The facility was somewhat maintained on the third floor where I moved into the floors are all quite dirty and in my storage facility the floors were also dirty. When I started moving things in, I didn’t realize I needed to get a vacuum so I didn’t have one. My stuff is all pretty clean, but when I left the facility, I was quite dirty personally. I also have a rolling rack full of nice clothes and had to lift it all up off the floor because they started getting dirty on the bottom of them just wheeling it into the storage unit. There was also a panel that was pulled off on one of the air vents next to my storage unit that should definitely be looked at and fixed. The two guys that were there were very nice and helpful though. Also, I did expect there would be bigger storage units, but there was basically nothing available so I am currently using two storage units instead of actually one. I don’t need 2 but the storage unit is not big enough for the actual size I really needed so it’s not by choice. a lot of companies around this location might have had bigger available, but were massively overpriced compared to U-Haul. I’m not too satisfied, but definitely think the unit should be cleaned and the floors cleaned at some point. Not sure how often they do it, but if they do it once a day and I was there at the end of the day that could’ve been from other people, but I don’t think that’s the case because it looked the same when I was there visiting the unit to look into the size before I moved my stuff in. Daniel in the main office was the person I worked with the most and he is a really nice and smart guy. He definitely makes your company better.😊

Michael S | Online Move InI had made a reservation online for a 5x10 unit but realized it wouldn’t be big enough. Your system made it a bit more complicated for your employee to change than it should have been but Sam was so great helping me out, with this and with everything else. This was on a Monday after a chaotic weekend of people moving in, and yet he was so patient and helpful. I really appreciated it. Kazandra was also so nice and she helped us get my couch into the elevator. My only issue with this place is the fact that the elevator will close on you. I’ve never seen an elevator like this! We had been having trouble getting my couch into the elevator and the alarm started going off. We really couldn’t move it out of the way (most elevators will not close on you anyway), and then the doors start closing in. Kazandra actually said they just spent $75,000 fixing the elevator—it would be nice to have an elevator that doesn’t close on people though! Sounds like people tried to push the doors back open and that’s why they had to get it fixed… Anyway overall I had a really great experience. This is a great facility and the employees I interacted with were really great at their jobs.

Kazandra Baez Sughrue was amazing in helping me secure the right size unit and making sure we could get it and in quickly. Every single person we met went over and above for us They took the time to show us all the differnt options and walked us through the process I would definitely recommend them to anyone who asks. My daughter is still selling real estate and has been asked about storage before but couldn't help the customer because she wouldn't recommend a company unless she herself had seen the place and now if asked again she won't hesitate to recommend your u haul in Southborough

Erika G | Overall ExperienceGM at the facility has no etiquettes and empathy towards customers who drove long to reach the facility. My brother-in-law who booked the U-Haul truck to drive from Canada also booked the storage with it. He used his Drivers license as an ID for the booking. When we were checking in, his ID could not be entered into the systems as it was Canada issued license. It indeed was a poor software used by the facility. Patiently waited for Daniel who was checking in to resolve this. He was unable to resolve and not his fault as it was system limitation. Called GM for help. She tried for 5 minutes and said it is Canadian license which is not US issued and hence it does not work. We do not agree with that as other person either wit US license or Canadian is allowed to book storage, which my brother-in-law did using his drivers license on U-Haul website. Facility system not accepting is not our fault. GM made us feel that we do not know anything. So, we finally gave option of using my license as it was US MA issued. The system was slow and it took further 40 minutes to get us checked in. My brother-in-law just expressed concerns to Daniel that when he can make booking with his Canadian ID and why the system does mot have an option to save the same ID at check in. GM took that offensive instead of taking it as a feedback. She stepped into conversation between my brother-in-law and Daniel without any apology or excuse for interrupting. So, my brother-in-law said he was talking to Daniel and not her. For which, she took her attitude and rudeness to next level and said it does not matter I he want to talk to her not but she will still speak. She even threatened us that she won’t allow Daniel to switch main contact as me from my brother-in-law and will not allow us a place at the storage if we do not listen to her. I know this is going to be read by her. Who are you GM? Is U-Haul storage owned by you or are you GM of the world. You made us wait for 2.5 hours after a long drive from Canada and no apology from you for making us wait so long. If it was not Daniel on that day, you would have taken conversation to next level without our fault but yours. My brother-in-law paid USD 1400 for the entire contract and you threatened him. God save U-Haul storage if it is managed by you. Learn how to talk to customers before carrying GM tag.

JACK K | First ImpressionsAll of the higher grades were EVENTUALLY true, once Ms. Baez-Sughrue arrived. Before that time I waited in a line of about 10 people - those ahead of me had been there for 2-3 hours (truthfully) just trying to collect reserved trucks or even just the keys from a processed app reservation. I had picked up a truck with ease earlier that morning using the app in Natick and only needed to find my pre-rented storage space. Service was astonishingly slow, run by a solo gentleman who was doing his best but struggling to keep up. He completed every aspect of each order before turning to the next person in line, even if that meant accompanying people outside while they evaluated trailers, or actually cleaning a truck for them. People were yelling for him to just let them take the dirty truck because they had been waiting so long. It was pretty bad. When the manager finally arrived (I believe it was Ms. Baez Sughrue), things moved far faster, but I had been in line 90-minutes before that happened. There was deep frustration among those waiting. After that, the higher ratings above kicked into place. I'm sure things run more smoothly in general, but it was a terrible morning at this facility.

Thiago N | Overall ExperienceI had an unexpected remodel to fix a broken pipe under my slab and needed to find storage for items previously stored in 3 closets and 2 bedrooms. I was able to reserve the unit online and start moving things in the next morning. I received an email with the unit number and a security code to the facility. UHaul was conveniently located. The place was very clean, well lit and temperature controlled. There were also security cameras throughout. Finding my unit was as easy and a lock was waiting inside. I moved everything in and didn’t have to think about it. I even found out on my last day that their system wouldn’t check me out because my unit wasn’t secured. I would use them again.

I secured a space by phone at 3PM I gave them my credit card and they said the roof was on floor 3 The reservations staff told me I could complete the transaction when I show up later - I told them I would be there after 5 - they said I could get in up until 10PM.- trying to sign in turned out to be a big waste of time I showed up at 5:30 - no way to get a code to get in I was shuffled to three customer service / reservations people, none of whom were aware of the case so each iteration required a complete set of data input. Totally a waste of time and very frustrating after a long drive and long day moving stuff out of my recently deceased mother's home. I did not find anyone with whom I spoke truly knowlegdeble about how the UHaul system worked so we gave up after wasting an hour at the UHaul site and went home with the loaded trailer.. I went back the next day after having had to secure our open trailer full of belongings with a tarp. we checked in (it took another round of torturous data input - why UHaul has such crappy records I can't imagine) and got our room the elevator turned out to be only about 5 feet deep and not too tall or wide - like a small office elevator - two small for our tables. I asked where the freight elevator was - or what size the elevator next tot he one we found working was - no one knew the answer. I then asked the store attendant for another room on the first floor he said he only had 5 x 10 he took me in to look at it - it was only 5 x 8 - so I asked how much the kid said he did not know and we went back to his desk after several long minutes he said it would be 69.99 - I bought it but the invoice said I was charged 79.99 - he could not fix it. we made it work. Had I known I would encounter any of these delays or hassles I would have gone to a different storage company. I called your store to talk to you but got central booking - please - this is not a good way to run anything let alone the biggest outfit of its kind in the country.

When I went into the office to retrieve my lock the guy didn’t know what I was talking about and he wanted me to show him my order he was didn’t even know what he was looking at. I said, what do you need to see? Then he just handed me a disc lock that was randomly on the desk. Which is fine but it was totally weird.
Angie S | Online Move InWrong information was noted at intake and although I corrected info several times it still resulted in incorrect phone numbers, incorrect lead numbers causing my 82-year-old mother to be awakened first thing in the morning several times, and having her contacted when there were problems with the unit. Also, there was a leak in the unit and the damage was underreported to me by the manager. While she said clothes became day, movers discovered water damage to other stored items (I.e. cds and shoes). Overall a VERY disappointing experience. Will never use this particular location again.

Upon arrival I was told no first floor units were available only third floor units. At that time it was too late to change as my uhaul truck was already at the location ready to be unloaded by my movers. I’m addition it took my movers significantly longer to move my truck belongings. This location has no freight elevator so some of my belongings did not fit. And also only 1 elevator was in working condition. For such a well known reputable business I was beyond shocked at everything listed above.

You have 1 person who can do their job while everyone else just sits around. Checkout took almost an hour having 3 people in front of me in line. You tell people dumpster can be used but then say “there’s a change in policy” and won’t update signing. Your prices in store are tagged lower. You refuse to homer the price written on tags but also refuse to edit the tags. Must be nice to be able to collect a paycheck and not do anything. Also, I’ve been there almost everyday the last week. Bathroom hasn’t been cleaned once and the same trash has been overflowing. This place is a joke. For being a “new” facility, it more rundown than most. I have switched to extra space storage and already feel better about the decision.

She had a very disrespectful tone over a question I wanted answered because I was confused about. She also argued with me just because I said rude here. GM asked for a 3rd contact to be verified before I get a storage. I asked if the same address can be used she said no. I then said I don’t have no one else then in a rudely tone she said I can’t rent storage at location. After a few minutes she became friendly.

My partner and I were shocked at the complete lack of attention from the gentleman working the counter. He did not look up once from his phone when we walked in. And as he was entering our information into the computer, he was scrolling on TikTok as he was typing. We’ve all worked in retail and customer service and I’m fully aware it’s not the most glamorous gig. But this guy was on a next level of not caring or showing an ounce of professionalism. One of the elevators stopped working while we were moving in and another customer went up to tell him, and he just shrugged. Side note on the elevators; I would think a large storage facility would have big freight elevators.

The night manager who checked me in at the end of the rental was also exceptional. These are great people who represent Uhaul extremely well and very professionally. Your reservation management system is atrocious. My sons and I had a very tight schedule to move our things from the storage unit to our home in Rhode Island. We wasted over 2 hours because of your horrible reservation system. I called and made the reservation working with a very nice and professional Uhaul representative. I needed a 15’ truck for a one way rental, furniture pads and a hand truck. I received an email with instructions to pick up the truck at the Mobil gas station in Ashland. Andy was awesome and tried several times to help process the reservation. I went in line and repeatedly filled out my data including the photos of my license three times. After the third completion of the forms I received another itinerary to pick up my 15’ truck at your Southborough location. I wasted almost an hour, but I was hopeful we would get back on track since the Southborough facility is only 15 minutes away. We got to the Southborough facility and Jamal told me he had no 15’ trucks only 10’ for one way rentals. He said I could go to your Natick facility to get a 15’ truck. I already wasted too much time in Ashland so we said we would try a 10’. Turns out it was not tall enough and it had no ramp. Jamal said he could rent me a 20’ but it would have to be a return. That’s what we ended up doing. The truck was fine and was actually a pleasure to drive. The people and equipment are great but your reservation and asset management system SUCKS and caused us to waste over 2 hours we did not have to waste. FIX IT!!!!!!
