BRENDA BEverything was great but the location led me to believe because i did not use all the miles that I would receive a credit but none was given. I returned the truck 2 days early and with 100 less miles than what was allotted. I saved miles on my trip, not the additional ones given to me for the drop off at a distant location but by being careful on my trip. This was disappointing after it was mentioned to me.
ROBIN CI drive to what was called a neighborhood U Haul at 19827 SE Hawthorne FL 32640 the the Freaking U Haul was closed and out of business but on line said it was open and because of the no good information I had to spend $30.00 ,ore in gas because I had to drive 25 miles to another uhaul. U-haul needs to get your u hauls on the internet up to date It wasted allot of my time and cost me money because the u haul was in business but on line said it was.

If I hadn’t you would’ve charged me over five dollars a gallon, which I think it’s pretty ridiculous. The only reason I used you is because my sister did, but I won’t again. Also, the truck was making strange. Sounds like somebody was beeping behind us when there was no one behind us it would come and go your service people when I called and said stop and wait for roadside. I was not going to wait hours and hours for somebody to show up so we drove it back after we were done but again I won’t use you again

MARY TAfter not being given the equipment I paid for, I was charged a fee for “not bringing it back”. Then afterwards, being charged triple the amount and not being shown the receipt just because it was unavailable at the time. I would not recommend this location to a friend. They were very unprofessional and did not uphold their contract. I will not be using uhaul again.

JAMES SEmployees need to give correct information to customers. Employee had us to buy a lock for our storage unit when in fact the details on our reservation said that a lock would be provided in the unit and sure thing one was in there. The employee came across as if she didn't want to be at work, she had an attitude, body language suggested these things, and her professionalism was very poor being that the store to had just opened 9am. My reservations for a truck and storage unit were both made over the phone the day before, all information was given. The customer service I received was excellent. Sorry, to say I didn't get that same treatment in person and I didn't get her name, but she was a young lady African American decent. Very RUDE!!!

There are several interior light bulbs that have burned out making it a little uncomfortable to see inside the storage unit. They are the old florescent bulbs, so maybe they are waiting to replace all the fixtures with LEDs. If, true, now would be a great time to replace.

The issue with my reservation was that I reserved a vehicle several days in advance for a locatiom 20+ minutes away and when I arrived, the vehicle was not ready and then this was the nearest facilities (even though there were several closer, open locations) with an available vehicle. This cost me an extra 1.5 hours of my time/reserved time as well as an extra $40 in gas cost for the truck (not including my own person vehicle).

MICHELE M | Overall ExperienceI turned in my access card about a week before the moved me out, however the person I gave my access card to didn't perform my move out the same day. I had to call to figure out why I was being charged for a storage that was already empty!!!! She handled my move out, but I feel it should have been handled the day I turned in my access card and told the employee behind the counter I moved all of my stuff out. I hope no one else will be affected because the employees don't take a few minutes to make sure the customer is moved out and terminate the rental agreement immediately instead of the customer having to call to inform the U-Haul employees they've moved out and shouldn't be charge!!! I just feel the customer who move out of units should be processed immediately not at the U-Haul employees leisure because it will be the customer who will be responsible for paying the bill and the employee or management won't be willing to help get the charge removed!!!

That made loading difficult. It’s like they were running a business where others are loading and unloading.

I had to leave a gym machine at the dumpster in the facility which I will have to pay for it eventually because I am not there yet. Unfortunately by the time I realized that the office was closed. Maybe in the future, have some type of back up system for situations like this. Although I initiated the online move-out days ago, I've yet to receive written confirmation that it has been 'approved' or 'accepted' by UHaul, and I can't even find evidence of any aspect of the move-out on my online account. The overall rental shows as a "past order" that was initiated back in April, but its termination is nowhere to be found. Please fix this!

The one person you have working, does not know anything (gave me wrong directions), is slow, and cannot figure out how to use your own system. 2. You know you have reservations coming in with a broken elevator. The attitude you give is YOU DON’T CARE. Isn’t that against the American with disability act. You do NOTHING about this. You do not contact those reservations, you put it back on the customer. Sure, equipment breaks but have some backup plans. You are a storage unit, what do you think people have boxes of air they are storing? a. When units are not available due to equipment failure, you should not be able to make a reservation. b. I was able to make the reservation AFTER YOU knew you had equipment issues. 3. Thank God there are other locations with managers who care in the town.

If the manager was a jerk no wonder the staff were not friendly. Good thing this was free. We moved out early and there was no refund for the insurance we did not use. I will never recommend this location.

No phone call while I’m on the road. Then to make up for it, now I have 2 units because my reservation was cancelled by the facility. Not only are there 2 units because there were none the size I reserved but they are on the other end of the building. Which makes it worst because I reserved a drive up outside. This is my first experience with the storage part and most likely the last. I wonder if all facilities act the same or if it is just here.

Having to stop what I am doing. Having to walk to the front to use the bathroom is ridiculous. I am normally pulling a trailer. So I close up my trailer. I have to drive up front. Use the bathroom. Drive my trailer back to my storage unit. Back my trailer in. Start my process over again is ridiculous. I was paying $165 a month for my storage unit. You can have the bathroom in my building working!

While the other couple had a 7:30 appt and were about 10 minutes late and trying to call also. Additionally, I was told I would have a free lock in my container since I'd done online check-in and there was no lock.

Then after we were given our storage unit number, we went to go put a lock on it and look it over. The bolt slider to close the unit was badly damaged and could not be closed. We spent an additional 30 minutes attempting to find someone who could address it. The replacement bolt system took an additional hour. So 4 hours into the process (which we started on-line), we were ready to get our stuff and begin loading storage unit. This will have to wait for a later date (even though we are already paying for unit) as we had no more moving time left in this day.

Also I dont think key swipers should Ever be blocked by trailers . But constantly are.

At the end it was done, but we ended up paying for at least 3-4 months of extra unneeded storage. We also had issues with the recurring payment option on the website. TJ was very helpful but was very hard to get a hold of.

Every time I tried to call the office it rang out to customer service offices. I tried to call the day before to cancel my storage unit. I couldn’t get ahold of the office and had to talk to a customer service representative who had to send a message to the uhaul office. They couldn’t close out my unit and had to wait for the office. The office did not reach out, did not cancel it. I called twice in one day to check if it had been closed out (it had not) I called the next day and the customer service representative had to find the number of the regional manager of the units and conference him in to cancel my unit and write off the charges for a new month because they didn’t close it out when they were suppose to. It’s just frustrating you can call the actual office.

While looking for a specific U-Haul storage location in Newberry, I found myself unable to get through by phone (full voicemail box), so I drove there, putting additional miles on the box truck. The units in Newberry were fenced up, and there was no one around to help me get access to the unit I'd reserved. I asked some ladies who were power-walking past the units, and one said she hadn't seen anyone there in a long time, and another said she thought maybe they were closed down. If service is completely non-existent for the Newberry location, why was I even allowed to make a reservation online? What a waste of time amd gas and truck miles/money! So I headed toward Gainesville, and saw another U-Haul location in Newberry, called Midgard. So I stopped there to check prices and use the restroom. Their restroom door wouldn't shut properly (I felt if I dropped my pants that I would be exposed to anyone who tried to enter, since, no matter how I tried, the door would not latch), and their unit prices were high, so that eliminated Midgard as a choice. It was getting to the point where I was going to look for storage providers not affiliated with U-Haul. Then I went to the facility managed by Ebony. I was tired from driving and disappointments, and hungry on top of that. I explained to Ebony that I had never used an indoor storage unit before, and that I was confused about access and unloading/loading. Ebony took the time to show me around the facility, and located a suitable unit for me, despite limited availability due to it being the end of the semester at UF in Gainesville. She showed me how to use the access card reader, and was patient and polite throughout the process of getting me into the facility. Then while I was moving my possesions into the unit, a friendly employee there named Janna told me she'd be around working to clean the units and to let her know if there was anything I needed help with, so that was icing on the cake. Thank you to the folks at 4821 NW 6th St!

Won’t be using this facility or probably any other U-Haul again.

It smells like mildew and stale cigarettes in the facility which seeped into our belongings. The facility is also not secure, the sliding doors can be pulled open by hand easily. During COVID I never saw staff wear a mask when inside the storage facility. We left to a cleaner facility where we pay the same cost of our 10x10 for a 10x15.

Upon putting my last item on my trailer,another male employee approached me, scolding me like a child, once again I was defending my actions and he stated he didn't want to hear it and walked away. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only concern I had was with Uhauls systems -- #1 Apparently they allow customers to triple book the same unit (fortunately for us we were the first to get there and were able to get the unit we booked), and #2 The systems in the facility appear to be very slow, outdated, and not user-friendly. This could be an issue if lines were long. We only had 1 person in front of us and it took about 25 minutes for him to return all of his unused boxes for a refund.

Was not pleased to learn that the 10’ x 10’ unit I had preordered was advertised as such but upon opening the unit, it was actually two smaller units with a wall in between—not ideal for large furniture pieces. Was able to switch the two small units to one large one but, after measuring the new unit, the interior was about a foot less than 10’ x 10,’ which is what I’m being charged for every month. Had to move additional belongings into a family member’s house because the space was tighter than advertised. The fact that what’s advertised isn’t what’s sold is very frustrating for both customers and staff who are trying their best to help. Please update marketing materials to accuracy and, when building future facilities, do not sell two split units as “one large unit.” Not sure if I will rent a storage unit from UHAUL again unless I get exactly what I’m paying for. Thank you.

The free use of the moving carts is an add bonus. The only issue is my passcode doesn't work, so every time I opened my unit it sets off an alarm which turns off after about one second. I asked someone and he said he thought the alarm system is down. But that is something they should tell the new guy or post it somewhere. I did stop by the main office and even though it was graduation day which means alot of people renting trucks, everyone working there was helpful and professional.

And another day we went to get some stuff out and her and another employee came from the side of office building and you could smell the pit in the air. One girl was heavy set and the other middle set. The young lady who worked on the weekend was very well mannered and a delightful person she should be the manager.

Nice storage unit but someone needs to answer the phone.

There was a cup of trash in the elevator and the halls had trash in them as well. This is not a single occurrence. This has been the new norm recently. The staff is super underwhelming as well. Every time I went to the office I was greeted with hufffs and puffs. When I asked for assistance it seemed as if I was requesting the world from them. Just overall not very friendly. I personally will not be using this facility in the future.
