MICHAEL SWhen I went to go move my belongings out of my unit(2735) from the Hamden cr office, my furniture was ruined by mice droppings and urine. The unit on the right of me had seed etc in their storage and mice got to it and came into my unit. Have pictures to show.

ANTHONY CIt was a little hard, at first, to know where to go in this facility--I'd never been there before and there's a lot of storage units and vans, etc. Trailers were around back and the desk, under a canopy, I stupidly missed. Anyway, I rented a 6x12 trailer and it had no jack for the tongue, which the UHAUL team was great at handling--but it wasn't great for them, especially when I returned and the tongue wouldn't separate easily from the ball hitch. Someone could hurt their back. Even though there's a fork lift on that campus, it's a pain to play fetch when a customer wants to get moving in the morning. It's an easy fix to bolt up (or weld) a folding jack. Cheers

Keith CI had a reservation for 9am. Generally the vehicle is ready when l arrive but not this time. Matt retrieved a vehicle and the lift was frozen so l waited for about 15 minutes while he emptied a bout 4 16oz spray can of ice melt on the door and continuously bang tight get to open. Once it did..he said it's ready. And l said what about all that ice on the ledge? We can't stand on that. He used a scraper to remove some of the snow and said there you go. We were there another 15 minutes de icing the ledge ourselves. Not having the vehicle ready was unacceptable as was our having to prep for it for our safe usage. A reserved vehicle should ready for pick-up free of snow and ice.

The Online reservation system does not match the physical storage spaces available at check-in, but that is not stated online. Two years in a row I have been told upon arrival my reserved unit was unavailable and a more expensive unit was all that was open. The manager does his best to rectify the situation but what’s the point of online reservation if there is no guarantee to an actual available unit for the price you’re quoting? For this, I will not be taking my business elsewhere. Ricky was great though. Helpful and courteous from beginning to end.

If this was in the rental agreement, it should be highlighted and mentioned when signing. It doesn't feel right that the rent gets increased once you're already moved into the unit and have no choice but to pay it. The notices sent to notify of rent increase site increased cleaning procedures, which in hindsight is even more offensive since i found bird droppings and dead bugs on/in my belongings

Then i asked if anyone could please help me with a purchase i made online. The woman in the front had a nasty attitude, rolled her eyes and responded with “no we cannot help you, we are all attending to customers.” I had hoped she would say instead “someone will be right with you or just wait on a bit for us” One of the other employees, tall guy, was very kind and friendly. We asked him several questions as to where is the rental and what’s the process. The next day, my uncle went by himself and needed another storage unit to rent. The same tall man attended him without me being there for purchase which was very time saving for everyone.

Apparently people who rent vehicles leave their personal cars in the few parking spaces adjacent to the office while they are out all day with the rental. Not sure where the employees park. Why don’t you require customers picking up rentals to park their personal vehicles further down in another lot so spaces are left available for customers who need to come into the store?

When booking the trailer, I was informed that rental qualified me for one month free rental on a storage unit, the same size I had just rented a couple of days earlier. I called customer service to see if I could get the one month refunded, giving me the benefit that I qualified for with the trailer rental. I was told no. It is unfortunate that this info wasn’t on the website for the storage unit rental too, and I would have booked both at the same time.

I got there with an entire truck full of heavy household items, only to find out my unit was on the second floor, and to get up there I would have to carry a huge cart up and hope it didn’t tip/fall down. Luckily the two people at the front desk were very kind and accommodated my concern. But this is a very poor display of service on Uhaul’s part. Extremely disappointed and what a huge inconvenience to have to find an alternative option in a moments notice. I will absolutely not be returning.

Then I get a late notice and when I called and explained the person didn’t even offer to waive the fee. When I went to the unit it was still locked out, I asked someone to remove the lock which she did. Then someone else came and said in a rude manner that next time I’m late I need to stop in the office and ask to have the lock removed. Great way to treat a new customer.

Nobody did not ask me what happen , they took word from one person to another. Shame on you Felix, and I hope another family is not in a situation and you take word of someone else . You wasn’t even there . As a manger you should of ask what happen to see what my side was , but I felt like you guys saw, a black woman and automatic label me as a ghetto , section 8 loud mouth woman . Nope you have it all wrong , Iam a hard working single mother that carry 3 jobs . I provide for my kid , no assistance, no help I work for everything. Neither less to say I have less than 24 days to find a home for me and my child . So excuse me I can be under some stress, so if I took it out on the other guy I simply apologize but that still don’t excuse the fact how he talked to me and how Felix acted.
